In the 1940s, the Waltham CDIA-Civil Date Indicator Aeronaval accompanied the heroes of the Allied Armed Forces in their epic endeavors at sea, and in the air. During the Second World War it was an indispensable instrument for pilots throughout the most gripping and breathtaking battles in the skies.
It was fitted on board of the most emblematic aircrafts of the war, from the unbeatable F6F Hellcats to the incredible B24 Liberator bombers; the most widely produced military aircraft in history.
The new Waltham Central Date Indicator reinterprets the main innovative functions of its predecessor, enhanced by distinctive time readability features in an elegant and contemporary angular design that encompasses high-tech, superior quality components.
The wristwatch is powered by the caliber W.DB-002 Dubois-Dépraz 331 automatic movement. In addition to the 24-hour GMT hand, the WALTHAM CDI introduces a distinct Central Date Indicator System with an innovative Time Zone Setting feature, which allows a rapid adjustment of the main time and date through the use of 3 distinctive buttons.

The WALTHAM CDI, like the other models in the Aeronaval Collection, boasts an original case in Titanium G5 that seems to be set in an instrument panel: a concept designed to be reminiscent of the glorious past of the aeronautical instrument it was inspired by.
The striking multi-level dial, embellished with a characteristic embossed W pattern, gives it depth and perspective, while the applied indexes and the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, for maximum readability in all-lighting conditions. The bezel is in ceramic, made of zirconium oxide.
The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective treatment. The modern watchstrap is in genuine volcanized rubber and features a sophisticated originally designed deployante clasp in Titanium G2. Always elegant, and perfect for any occasion thanks to the combination of design and performance, the new WALTHAM CDI is also water resistant up to 30 bar/300 meters.
