Grandval Atlantique Watch Collection
Founded in 2019, GRANDVAL is a French watch brand that offers high-quality wristwatches designed, controlled and assembled in Paris. Recently, it has announced the launch of the ATLANTIQUE watch collection.
The brand offers two distinct models from the ATLANTIQUE collection: a diver version with a classic rotating dive bezel and a dual time version with a rotating bezel that allows a second time zone display. For this watch collection, the brand has collaborated with Paris based APH – Atelier Parisien d’Horlogerie. The watches are equipped with Swiss made automatic movements.
Inspired by the Atlantic Ocean, the GRANDVAL ATLANTIQUE watches feature a modern design with a touch of vintage style.
The Atlantique dive watch is available in two dial styles: Classic and Sector. Both dial styles are available in blue or black iterations. In each version, both date window and bezel feature the same color pattern of the main dial.
The classic dial features sun brushed background, applied indices filled with BGW9 Superluminova at 12, 3 and 9 and white printings made of BGW9 Superluminova. The sector dial features circular brushed background, white printing made of BGW9 Superluminova.
The Atlantique Dual Time watch is available in Club and Sector dial versions with the option of black or blue dial background.
The “Club” dial variant boasts a 2-layers dial with vertical brushed finishing in the center and circular brushed on the upper layer, polished applied indices. It has applied polished date window frame and BGW9 Superluminova dot hour markers.
The “Sector” dial variant has circular brushed dial and orange paint printing mixed with lume.
All Atlantique watches are equipped with calibre STP1-11, the automatic Swiss made movement manufactured in Jura by Swiss Technology Production. Beats at 4Hz, this self-winding mechanical movement provides a power reserve of 44 hours.
The watches feature 44mm diameter stainless steel case with lug less design for comfortable wearing. Fitted with sapphire crystal glass, screw-down case back and screw-down crown, each Atlantique watch is water resistant to 200 meters.
All these timepieces are fitted with 120-clock unidirectional bezel featuring PVD coated (black or blue) circular brushed stainless steel insert and etched indices. The dive version features bezel insert with 60 minute scale where as the dual time watch has 12 hour marking.
The brand offers two straps with the watch: one nylon strap with rubberized lining and one tropic-like genuine rubber strap. Both straps have a pin buckle, with the Grandval logo engraved.
To promote this collection, Grandval launched a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign on 23 February 2021. Interested customers can pre-order the Atlantique watch at a special discount price range during this campaign, which ends on 23 March 2021. Pledges start at €450 (Appx. US$ 547) and estimated delivery is in Aug 2021.
