CITIZEN PROMASTER Eco-Drive Diver 200m Limited Edition Model BN0225-04L

CITIZEN’s new limited edition PROMASTER Eco-Drive Diver 200m watch is a tribute to the endangered whale shark. This new model is a limited-edition of 5,000 pieces worldwide. A portion of the sales revenue from this model will go to support the marine conservation activities of international NGO Conservation International (CI).

The design of this model was inspired by whale sharks that can be found in plankton-rich, temperate seas near the equator. The dial and bezel feature a beautiful deep blue color evoking the ocean, and the pattern on the dial is inspired by the unique spot patterns on each whale shark’s back.

CITIZEN PROMASTER Eco-Drive Diver 200m Limited Edition Model BN0225-04L

The case design is inspired by the iconic 1982 Professional Diver which had the highest depth rating in the world – pressure resistance up to 1,300 meters – at the time of its release. The lug-less case silhouette, the four bezel guards, and the large indentations on the rotating bezel give the watch a bold, distinctive look.

The new PROMASTER Eco-Drive Diver 200m also features a sandblasted finish to recreate the distinctive rugged look of the original model. The massive 45.8mm diameter case is made from Super Titanium™ finished with CITIZEN’s proprietary Duratect MRK and Duratect DLC surface hardening technology, making it resistant to scuffs and scratches.

The bold hands and indices also ensure superior visibility. This light-powered Eco-Drive watch does not require regular battery replacement. An ISO compliant diver’s watch to 200 meters, it features an embossed whale shark silhouette on the case back.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Models

In 2020, to mark the 15th anniversary of its most robust and distinctive collection, the BALL Watch Company launched the Engineer Hydrocarbon Original watch with a black dial and matching bezel. The year 2021 witnessed the addition of new versions featuring blue or green dial with matching bezels.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with green dial and green sapphire bezel

The Engineer Hydrocarbon Original’s unidirectional bezel is made of blue or green sapphire and is graduated so that the diver can measure their dive time accurately and adjust their decompression stops in complete safety. For optimum handling of these specific diving functions, the bezel features special indents that allow it to be used with bare hands or with diving gloves.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with blue dial and blue sapphire bezel

Water-resistant to 200 m/660 ft, this model is one of the few to feature micro tubes of H₃ gas inside the sapphire bezel. The brand’s iconic tubes can also be found on the hands and, for the first time ever, under the dial, allowing for unrivalled luminosity in the dark. This cutting-edge Swiss technology does not require an external charging source and consists of glass microcapsules filled with gas. These are up to 100 times brighter than the Super LumiNova paint usually used in the watchmaking industry.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with blue dial and blue sapphire bezel

Powered by the COSC (Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) certified automatic calibre BALL RR1102-CSL, the Engineer Hydrocarbon Original features hour, minute, central seconds, day and date functions.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with green dial and green sapphire bezel

An already robust piece of equipment, this particularly resistant timepiece is complete with the patented Amortiser® shockproof system. Inside the movement itself, the SpringLOCK® and SpringSEAL® systems ensure continued accuracy in the event of shocks to the piece.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with green dial and green sapphire bezel

Faithful to the specifications of the Hydrocarbon collection, the crown is equipped with a protection system consisting of a valve covering it, so as to ensure that it is securely screwed-in and inaccessible when diving. To ensure its superior reliability, this model is resistant to shocks of up to 7,500 G and anti-magnetic to 80,000 A/m thanks to the mu-metal shielding.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Model with green dial and green sapphire bezel

Mumetal is an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum with very high magnetic permeability, which enables it to attract and deflect static or low frequency magnetic field lines, against which other methods of attenuation are relatively ineffective.

BALL Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Original, New Models

Originally designed for submarine exploration and diving, the Original is equally at home in the water and on dry land. This 43 mm steel watch is not only versatile but suitable for adventurers and explorers, as well as more urban and conventional individuals.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20th Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

2022 marks 20 years of Mido’s passion for architecture. The third creation of an anniversary series encompassing five models, the Ocean Star Inspired By Architecture reliably accompanies the most remarkable expeditions at sea, just like the monument that inspired it – the Europa Point Lighthouse, located in the Strait of Gibraltar.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

Each watch from the limited series of 1,841 timepieces – chosen to commemorate the year the monument engraved on its case back was built – is delivered in a special dedicated presentation box, accompanied by a medallion.

Created in 2002, the All Dial collection was the first to evoke one of ancient Rome’s most famous monuments in its design: the immense Colosseum amphitheatre. Ever since, the art of architecture has been written into the creative DNA of Mido and has influenced all of its collections. Just as the Europa Point Lighthouse acts as a landmark on the Mediterranean Sea, the high-performance, reliable Ocean Star also supports seafarers in their quests.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

The unidirectional rotating bezel with a blue aluminium ring tops the dial in a matching ‘velvet’ finish. The shape of the index at 12 o’clock, adorned with a touch of red, recalls the silhouette of the lighthouse which was built to guide men embarking on new maritime conquests. The Super-LumiNova® dot, meanwhile, evokes the light that safely guides them.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

The day and date indications can be read off in an aperture at 3 o’clock. To ensure a flawless display, even underwater and at night, the bezel, indexes and hands are adorned with white Super-LumiNova®.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

The varnished red tip of the seconds hand, enables the wearer to accurately track how much time has elapsed. The same red has been chosen for the stitching adorning the blue fabric strap with rolled edges, in a subtle nod to the lighthouse’s characteristic red stripe.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

The new Ocean Star Inspired By Architecture is powered by the Caliber 80, a next-generation automatic mechanical movement that has been carefully decorated according to watchmaking tradition. It offers up to 80 hours of autonomy.
The look of this anniversary Ocean Star is highlighted by the satin-finished steel chosen for its round 42.5 mm diameter case.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

Equipped with a screwed case back (five screws) and a screwed crown, this sports watch is water-resistant up to a pressure of 20 bar (200 m/660 ft). A representation of the Europa Point Lighthouse is engraved on the steel case back and similarly adorns the commemorative medallion that is delivered with this limited edition.

Mido Ocean Star – Inspired By Architecture 20TH Anniversary Limited Edition, Reference M026.430.17.041.01

In 2022, Mido is celebrating 20 years of passion for architecture. Sporty and seafaring with its blue diving aesthetic and touches of red, the Ocean Star Limited Edition pays tribute to the Europa Point Lighthouse as an unfailing ally of men at sea.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968

Swiss watchmaker Certina presents DS Chronograph Automatic 1968, a brand new timepiece inspired by a model from the 1960s.

Although boasting the 1960s design, its heart beats to the rhythm of a modern automatic movement with a silicon balance spring. The cushion-shaped case makes it a stylish accessory, while its chronograph functionality, water resistance up to 20 bar (200 meters) and the unidirectional rotating bezel testify to genuine sportiness.

 Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968

Introduced at the end of the 1960s the Certina DS Argonaut caused a sensation with its striking case and robust workmanship. Inspired by this model, the Swiss watchmaker has developed a worthy successor that would cut a fine figure in any tale of mythical heroes.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 with black PVD case

The DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 is presented in a cushion-shaped stainless steel case (43.5 mm x 43.5 mm) with a black PVD surface. Sapphire crystal on the front and back of the watch provide optimal clarity and legibility.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 with black PVD case

A round sapphire ring, fitted with a black/white scale printed from beneath, lends visual depth to the unidirectional rotating bezel. And thanks to their Super-LumiNova® coating, the sharply angled hands and indexes stand out clearly against the black dial even in the dark.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 Stainless steel case with black PVD coating, black dial, leather strap

An elegant vintage style is only one of the many facets of the new DS Chronograph Automatic 1968. Another is its sporty character, underscored, for example, by the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and complemented by the central stop seconds and a small seconds at 9 o’clock.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 Stainless steel case with black PVD coating, black dial, leather strap

The striking screw-down crown and water resistance up to 20 bar (200 m) contribute to enhanced robustness. The watch is driven by the ETA A05.H31 automatic (self-winding) movement with a 60-hour power reserve. It is equipped with a silicon balance spring whose innovative material protects it against magnetic fields, changes in temperature and shocks.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 Stainless steel case with black PVD coating, black dial, leather strap

The matt black leather strap with white decorative stitching – easily exchanged thanks to the Certina quick-change system – offers additional safety and comfort.

Certina DS Chronograph Automatic 1968 Stainless steel case, black dial with orange elements, striped NATO strap

Along with the black version, a stainless steel edition with orange accents on the dial and a black and white striped NATO strap made from recycled #tide ocean material® is also available.

Edox Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition

Swiss watch brand Edox has released the Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition watch to mark its partnership with Marianna Gillespie, the world No.1 female freediver.

Edox Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition

The current French national record holder in multiple disciplines, Marianna has been world champion four times, ranked No. 1 in the world six times and has also won the prestigious Vertical Blue competition. Known as ‘the mermaid from the East’, Marianna is one of the world’s strongest freedivers, ranked not only in the world top 10 in multiple individual disciplines but overall. Marianna Gillespie is a brand ambassador of Edox.

Edox Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition

First introduced in 1961, the innovative Edox Delfin with its patented double O-ring system and reinforced case, set the benchmark for water-resistant watches. The patented double seal meant that even with the crown open the Delfin was water-resistant. The watch was a smash hit, and Edox forged a name as the Water Champion.

Edox Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition

The new Edox Delfin Special Edition, like the original, is water-resistant to 200 meters. Its Caribbean-blue dial is set with 12 shimmering diamonds and protected by a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Edox Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition

The stainless steel case measures 38mm. Its flexible lugs allow comfortable fitting on either small or larger wrists. The striking, 12-sided shaped bezel harks back to a distinctive design first introduced by Edox in 1973. In low light, or under the water, the time can be clearly read thanks to the Super-LumiNova-coated hands.

SPB297 is inspired by the first Seiko diver’s watch, created in 1965. It features a 40.5mm diameter stainless steel case. Its intricately patterned dial reflects the power and beauty of polar glaciers. The deep-blue dial watch is based on Seiko’s first diver’s watch from 1965 which proved its reliability when used by members of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition from 1966 to 1969.

SPB299 is a new re-interpretation of the landmark 1968 diver’s watch which was the first Seiko watch with 300m water resistance and a 10-beat automatic movement. This 42.0mm diameter stainless steel timepiece features a light blue dial and a darker blue bezel.

Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition, Reference SPB301
Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean Special Edition, Reference SPB301/ Image Credit: Seiko Watch Corporation

SPB301 is a re-interpretation of the watch worn by Naomi Uemura in the 1970’s. It has a stainless steel case measuring 42.7mm diameter. A white dial is encased in the same distinctive shaped case as the 1970 classic which proved its strength and endurance when worn by the Japanese adventurer Naomi Uemura in the years 1974 to 1976 when he completed a 12,500km solo dog-sled run from Greenland to Alaska.

All three watches are powered by the Seiko self-winding Caliber 6R35 which delivers a power reserve of 70 hours. They are 200 meter water resistant and are presented on steel bracelets with secure clasps and extenders. The cases have a super-hard coating and the crystals are of sapphire with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface to ensure high legibility from every angle. All twelve indexes have a generous coating of Lumibrite, as do the hands, to maximize legibility in the dark.

These three new watches from the Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean series will be available at the Seiko Boutiques and selected retail stores worldwide from June 2022.

Certina DS PH200M 39MM (with white mother of pearl dial)

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Swiss watch brand Certina is releasing a new white MOP dial version of its DS PH200M 39MM model.

With its classic retro look, the DS PH200M caused a stir when first introduced. In 2021 the debut model was joined by the DS PH200M 39MM with a slightly smaller case, black mother-of-pearl dial and black ceramic bezel. Now, the latest version adds genuine charm with its bright, fresh colours.

Certina DS PH200M 39MM (with white mother of pearl dial)

The stainless steel case has a 39-mm unidirectional white ceramic bezel whose smooth surface is set off by delicate rose gold-coloured markings. The white mother-of-pearl dial presents eleven sparkling diamonds in rose gold-coloured settings designed to complement the date window at 3 o’clock and the Super-Luminova®-coated hands.

Certina DS PH200M 39MM (with white mother of pearl dial)

A beige-white fabric strap made of #tide ocean material® rounds off the design, combining good looks with a good cause: the material is fashioned from plastics fished from the world’s oceans.

Certina DS PH200M 39MM (with white mother of pearl dial)

The usual robust workmanship, which Certina values highly in all its models, makes DS PH200M perfectly wearable wherever it goes. The screw-down crown and water resistance to 20 bar (200 m) plays its part, as does the familiar Double Security (DS) concept.

The Powermatic 80 movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. Its innovative Nivachron™ balance spring ensures that its rate precision remains unaffected by magnetic fields.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200

In 2021, Tag Heuer revived its Aquaracer Professional Series by launching a new luxury dive watch collection named Aquaracer Professional 300.

Now, the Swiss watchmaker is introducing the Aquaracer Professional 200, a new addition to the Aquaracer Professional Series. This new range will offer both gents and ladies’ dive watches with either a 40mm or 30mm stainless steel case.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200

Just like the Aquaracer Professional 300 series, Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 features the famous and now upgraded bezel with twelve facets first introduced in 1995; a refined, repeating horizontal line dial decoration; sculpted, chamfered, shorter lugs with brushed and polished finishes; a three-link bracelet, and a screw-down crown with twelve facets and protection.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer PROFESSIONAL 200 40mm Quartz
TAG Heuer Aquaracer PROFESSIONAL 200 40mm Quartz

The Aquaracer Professional 200 is more compact at 40mm (compared to 43mm size of Aquaracer Professional 300), with the further option of a smaller 30mm case. The bezel still features a diving scale, only now it’s engraved into a steel insert, rather than one in ceramic. The central bracelet link is polished rather than brushed, lending the Aquaracer Professional 200 its more formal feel.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200

Where the Aquaracer Professional 300 has octagonal hour markers, an oversized hour hand, and yellow detailing, the Aquaracer Professional 200 adopts more classic sports watch codes with straight-edged, trapezoidal hour markers, sleeker sword-shaped hands, and crisp white detailing. For dial legibility, the hour markers and hands are still coated with Super-LumiNova, but to create a more sartorial look, no luminescent material has been applied to the bezel.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Automatic 40mm model with black dial
Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Automatic 40mm

The new Aquaracer Professional 200 models offer a choice of movements. In the 40mm collection, there are two automatic and two quartz references, while at 30mm there are two automatics and five quartz options. This marks another departure from the Aquaracer Professional 300, which is only available with an automatic mechanical movement.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200

The choice of movement changes the watch’s layout and functionality. Automatics are distinguished by their fumé (smoky) gradient dials, date windows (but without a magnifier – to maintain the watch’s streamlined profile), Super-LumiNova sweeping seconds hands, and more detailed minute tracks.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200

The quartz models have no date and a pared-back look by comparison, while otherwise retaining the same aesthetic and technical characteristics.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 30mm automatic watch with blue mother of pearl dial
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 30mm Automatic with Blue Mother of Pearl Dial

In the 30mm range there are further playful, elegant options. There are three quartz models with a light silver colour, light blue or black sunray dials; a quartz model with a diamond- dot white mother-of-pearl dial; an additional quartz model that adds a diamond-set bezel to a diamond-dot white mother-of-pearl dial; and then two automatics with either a black or blue fumé diamond-dot dial. Again, the automatics feature date windows.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 30mm Quartz watch with white mother of pearl dial and diamond-set bezel
TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 30mm Quartz with White Mother of Pearl Dial and Diamond-set Bezel

One attribute shared by every new Aquaracer Professional 200 reference is the case back design. The watch’s reverse is engraved with a compass, replacing the scaphander diving helmet that has featured on Aquaracer case backs (and its predecessors) since 2002. The backdrop to this remains the repeating engraved hexagonal motif seen on the Aquaracer Professional 300.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 case back

The bezel improvements detailed in the Aquaracer Professional 300 are also present in its sister watch. The bezel’s rotating mechanism is almost fluid, and yet still has a reassuring click that signals its reliability under pressure.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 bezel

Both watches feature a slimmed-down, more elegant bracelet that continues TAG Heuer’s long tradition of producing ergonomic bracelet designs that follow the natural curvature of every wearer’s wrist.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 watch bracelet

As well as being highly flexible and durable, the Aquaracer Professional 200’s bracelet comes with a comfort link with a 7mm extension that can be adjusted quickly using a beautifully engineered push-down-and-pull release mechanism.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 watch buckle

Both pieces in the Aquaracer Professional Series also have intelligently designed fluting on the bezel’s facets so it can be easily gripped and adjusted. The riders from previous generation Aquaracer bezels have been removed, giving the Aquaracer Professional 200 its uninterrupted bezel profile.

Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver’s Modern Re-interpretation Save the Ocean Limited Edition

In 1965, Seiko introduced its and Japan’s, first diver’s watch. With water resistance to 150m and an automatic movement, it proved its high quality and reliability when worn by members of the 8th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition in 1966. Thanks to the positive reaction of the members of the expedition on their return, Seiko’s diver’s watches were chosen by the same research team between the years 1966 and 1969, during which time the landmark Seiko diver’s watch with 300m water resistance and a 10-beat automatic movement was created, in 1968.

Now, Seiko expands its Prospex collection with a new interpretation of the 1968 diver’s watch that is even better equipped to meet the challenge of the most extreme conditions on earth. This watch, with its advanced specifications, will be worn by members of the 63rd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition’s mission to Antarctica.

The case, bezel and crown are all made of Seiko’s Ever-Brilliant Steel, which is more corrosion resistant than the regularly used stainless steel. To further ensure the watch’s durability, the crown is not screwed directly into the case but locked into a separate component that is built into the case and so can be more easily replaced.

Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver's Modern Re-interpretation Save the Ocean Limited Edition

The watch is powered by Caliber 8L35 which was developed especially for diver’s watches. Hand-assembled by the craftsmen and women at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio in northern Japan, this automatic movement is accurate and rigid. It has a power reserve of 50 hours.

The patterned dial captures the feeling of the Antarctic landscape while the subtle gradation of the blue from light to dark echoes the beautiful colors of the polar ice. The bezel also evokes the uniqueness of this frozen landscape with its ice-blue numerals and markers. All twelve-hour markers have a generous coating of Lumibrite, as do the hands, and the crystal is a dual-curved sapphire with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface to ensure high legibility from every angle.

The design and texture of the watch strap pay homage to the 1968 original but it is now produced in silicone for greater strength and comfort. The watch is also offered with a fabric strap which incorporates a traditional braiding technique from Japan called Seichu.

This new watch joins the Seiko Prospex Save the Ocean series in support of several different marine conservation initiatives, one of which involves contributions to the National Institute of Polar Research, which is based in Tokyo. As part of this program, Seiko recently donated watches to the 63rd Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE) team.

This new Prospex diver’s watch will be available as a limited edition of 1,300 at the Seiko Boutiques and selected retail partners worldwide in January 2022.

BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage Full-Black Limited Edition

In the 1960s, BALL Watch Company introduced its first dive watch for adventure seekers. The Engineer II Skindiver Heritage watch in TiC coated steel case enhances the purpose-built functions of its historic predecessors.

BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage Full-Black Limited Edition

With micro gas tube luminosity appearing underneath curved rotating bezel, on the dial, and arranged handsomely on the hands, the watch’s undeniable avant-garde design is sure to entice.

Clear visibility is of paramount importance to divers and explorers. The Swiss cutting-edge technology of micro gas tubes featured on the Skindiver Heritage makes this timepiece highly functional in the darkness of the depths.

BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage Full-Black Limited Edition

This technology used by BALL Watch involves encapsulating H₃ gas in glass micro tubes— quite unlike any other luminescent material found in watchmaking. When the H₃ molecules strike the internal-colored surface of the tubes, they emit light without requiring any form of external light or energy source. To add some playful action to this all-black timepiece, the tubes form a combination of rainbow-like colors.

Combined with a black dial, this full-black model reveals a new-wave look while remaining top-notch in safety performance.

BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage Full-Black Limited Edition

For easy use under water, the bezel and the crown of the Skindiver Heritage have been finely designed to allow firm grips even while wearing gloves.

The case and the bracelet are made of stainless steel with a TiC (Black Titanium Carbide) coating, and the subtle-domed sapphire crystal bezel adds style while being a central safety piece of the watch.

Unidirectional for better assurance, the bezel is used to accurately monitor the immersion time as well as decompression stops. Water resistant to 200m/660ft and featuring a screwed-in crown, the Skindiver is the perfect companion for underwater expeditions.

BALL Watch Engineer II Skindiver Heritage Full-Black Limited Edition

The 42mm case features a see-through sapphire crystal case back that offers a unique view of the automatic BALL RR1102 caliber. This movement runs the hour, minute and second hands as well as the day and date functions.

Anti-magnetic to 4,800A/m and shock resistant to 5,000Gs, this limited edition of 390 pieces has been designed for explorers and is ready for adventures.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

Försti Diver is the most recent addition to the collaborative series between master watchmaker Voutilainen and Leijona, the brand known for its Finnish-Swiss watchmaking heritage.

This is the first diving watch in which Kari Voutilainen and his studio have been closely involved. This amazing timepiece boasts good proportions and user comfort, without compromising on the features characteristic of a diving watch: durability and water resistance.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

The Finnish temperament, honest and unyielding, is reflected in the high-quality implementation of the unique details. Every Försti Diver wristwatch undergoes several stages of artisan work before its journey to Finland from the Val-de-Travers valley of watches next to the Jura Mountains in Switzerland.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

The effective implementation of the stylish black and light-coloured dials involves several production stages emphasizing the importance of flawless craftsmanship and professional skill. A galvanic tint defined by a special kind of plating method has been chosen as the dial colour for both Försti Diver watches. This exceptional technique brings out the stunning finish of the dial.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

The dials have been manufactured by Voutilainen’s dial making company Comblémine SA, which produces these flawless dials down to the finest detail.

Made of high-grade stainless steel, each watch case is refined and finished by hand at Voutilainen & Cattin SA’s factory. In the finishing of the case, special attention has been paid to the quality of the surfaces, the longevity, and the durability.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

A Leijona quartz diving watch of the 1970s/1980s was the source of inspiration for the Försti Diver watches. To support the design work, an original model in good condition was tracked down and used as part of the model’s design. The Leijona diving watch found to support the design was discovered intact in the sea in the early 1990s by its current owner while diving.

The watch that inspired the Försti is incidentally almost identical to the first watch (Leijona) of Grand Master Kari Voutilainen, which was a black-dial Leijona diving watch with a rubber strap and a reddish bezel. In honour of the original model and Kari’s first watch (Leijona), the new model, the design of which has been adapted for the present day, also has a black dial, a red and black bezel and a rubber strap in addition to a steel one.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

Even though the Försti Diver wristwatch has been made to be aesthetically pleasing as a whole, the specific requirements for a diving watch have also been taken into account in the model’s design. Its 3 mm thick sapphire crystal glass has been placed slightly above the watch’s rotating bezel to protect it.

The watch also has a screw-down crown as well as crown protection for added resistance against water and light shocks. The structure of the case thus protects the crown and reduces pressure against the wrist.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

Functionality has been considered with regard to the steel watch strap as well. The strap has been equipped with fine tuning that can be used to fit over a diving suit, for example, at the touch of a button. The dazzling side profile of the watch reveals the quality of the handcrafted finishing and the complexity of the surfaces.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

Under the leadership of Kari Voutilainen, the aim was top-quality finishing of the watch case, down to the smallest detail. The assembly of the watches as well as the checking of their operation and water resistance also takes place at Voutilainen & Cattin SA.

Voutilainen x Leijona Försti Diver Watch

The movement chosen for the Försti Diver watches is the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, which is known for its accuracy, durability and reliability. The availability of spare parts for the movement has accordingly been ensured for a long time to come. The watch movement is checked three times before placement in the case. The first check is carried out at Sellita, the second before the movement is attached to the watch, and the third once this has been completed.

The straps of the Försti Diver watches are also manufactured in accordance with the principles of the Voutilainen x Leijona collaboration collection, which is why Rhein Fils (steel strap) and Crafter Blue (rubber strap) have been chosen as the manufacturers. Both manufacturers rely solely on the best materials and solutions in their straps, a choice reflected in their user comfort, finish and unique solutions.

About Voutilainen x Leijona Series

Voutilainen x Leijona is a collaboration that brings together two icons from the world of watches; where watch models inspired by the history of Leijona watches are combined with Finnish-Swiss watchmaking expertise, creating a unique collection that honours craftsmanship and the value of time.

In addition to the new Försti Diver, the collection includes three different watches suitable for different situations: Urho Chrono, Oiva Classic, and Jalo Sport. The most technical of the models is Urho, the design of which is based on a traditional chronograph. Urho’s sporty design offers everyday luxury for the man who values momentum. Oiva is a more understated three-hand dress watch; while Jalo’s powerful and sporty design was inspired by Leijona watches from the 1970s.

The Voutilainen x Leijona collection is available in nine specialty shops throughout Finland and at https://leijonaheritage.com/, an online shop that has been serving customers across the EU (excl. Finland) since the summer of 2021.

Aquastar Deepstar II

Swiss watch brand Aquastar presents the Deepstar II, a new Swiss made automatic diving timepiece. It is a descendant of the 2020’s Deepstar Chronograph Re-Edition, which marked the resurgence of Aquastar.

Aquastar Deepstar II

Featuring a 37mm diameter stainless steel case, the new Deepstar II retains the design and proportions of the pioneering Deepstar Chronograph from 1962, as well as two of Aquastar’s symbolic characteristics: the rotating timing bezel bearing the brand’s own “no decompression” table.

Aquastar Deepstar II

The domed sapphire crystal glass offers unobstructed view of the grey dial. The watch also features the brand’s signature “cyclops” style mono-compax counter originally devised by Aquastar founder and innovator Frederic Robert. Unique to the Deepstar II, this detail now houses the running seconds register at 9:00.

Aquastar Deepstar II

Secured with a solid stainless steel case-back, the Deepstar II watch offers 200 meters of water resistance. It is powered by the top-grade Sellita SW-290 automatic Swiss-made movement.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

TUDOR presents PELAGOS FXD, a professional diving watch created in collaboration with a specialist unit of the French Navy.

Since the 1950s and TUDOR’s creation of one of the first modern professional divers’ watches to the 1980s, the brand has been a regular supplier to the French Navy.

With the Pelagos FXD model, where FXD refers to the extra robust fixed strap bars of the case, TUDOR is reviving this historic collaboration. The new diving watch meets a unique set of specifications that was developed in conjunction with the French Navy’s combat swimmers, the prestigious Commando Hubert.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

TUDOR has joined forces with the Marine nationale (French Navy) brand, continuing a relationship that dates back to 1956. Back then, the Groupe d’Étude et de Recherches Sous-Marines (G.E.R.S.), a scientific body attached to the French Navy and based in Toulon, took delivery of some Oyster Prince Submariner watches in order to assess them in real-life situations. They were references 7922 and 7923, both waterproof to 100 metres (330 ft) and fitted with self-winding and manual movements, respectively. TUDOR attained the status of “official supplier to the French Navy” in 1961.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

TUDOR divers’ watches continued to be developed and the French Navy would use many of the brand’s timepieces over the following decades. Today, the most famous TUDOR divers’ watch used by the French Navy is the reference 9401, with its iconic blue dial and bezel. Engraved on the case back with the initials “M.N.” followed by the year of issue, the watches were delivered in two configurations, “Snowflake” hands and hour markers and later, with triangular hour markers.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

This model was launched in the mid-’70s and was supplied to the French Navy until the 1980s. It continued to be used into the 21st century, particularly at the French Navy’s diving school, as well as by combat swimmers. Although officially removed from the French Navy’s supply stocks some twenty years ago, it can still be seen sometimes today on the wrists of reserve and retired sailors alike. The Pelagos FXD Reference 25707B/21 model is inspired by this emblematic reference.

Developed in conjunction with the French Navy’s combat swimmers, the Pelagos FXD model includes many functional features that are new to TUDOR, such as its fixed strap bars that are machined into the main body of the 42 mm titanium case for increased robustness and reliability. They are shaped as an extension of the lugs.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

Another feature specific to this model is the 120-notch rotating bezel. Bidirectional with retrograde graduation from 60 to 0, it does not correspond to the ISO 6425:2018 standard of divers’ watches, but instead meets the specific needs of the method known as “underwater navigation”, one of the specialities of combat swimmers.

Underwater navigation consists of reaching a precise location by sea, without surfacing, by following a meticulously planned route. Divers carry out this underwater navigation in pairs, connected to one another by a strap known as a “life line”, and complete a series of straight swims guided by a magnetic compass. They swim at a constant speed for a set time in each section, completing as many sections as necessary whilst timing each one exactly.

This navigation entails restarting a countdown at each change of course. The anticlockwise graduation and luminescence of the bezel of this model make it easy to set up and monitor each countdown, by aligning the time set for the section to be covered on the bezel with the minute hand. When the minute hand arrives opposite the triangle, the team changes course and the diver in charge of timing begins the next countdown. The model has also been fitted with a large bezel ring, which exceeds the diameter of the case for optimum grip, even with neoprene gloves and hands that are numb from long dives in cold water.

In aesthetic terms, the Pelagos FXD model is inspired by the TUDOR divers’ watches historically used by the French Navy. It is navy blue in colour and has the characteristic square hour markers and angular hands, known as Snowflake, introduced by the brand in 1969 to increase the intensity of the luminescence of its watches in poor light conditions.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD Reference 25707B/21

It also features a rotating bezel with a sand-blasted ceramic insert with luminescent material. Its 42 mm titanium case is waterproof to 200 metres and is entirely satin-brushed to produce a matt effect to limit light reflections. To highlight the watch’s official character, its case back bears the logo of the Marine nationale (French Navy) brand composed of an anchor topped with a sailor’s hat, as well as a historically inspired engraving of “M.N.21″ for “Marine nationale2021”.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

Historically, the French Navy had TUDOR watches delivered without bracelets and then fitted them with their own straps. Two strap types appear to have been particularly used over the years: black straps made from a single piece of braided nylon, and, less commonly, handmade straps made from parachute elastic, which could be recognised by their green colour and yellow or red central thread.

The single-piece fabric strap is one of the hallmarks of TUDOR, which in 2010 became one of the first watchmaking brands to offer it with its watches. Woven in France on 19th century Jacquard looms by the Julien Faure Company in the St-Etienne region, its manufacturing quality, robustness and comfort on the wrist are unique. For the Pelagos FXD model, a new, highly technical strap construction was developed by TUDOR and Julien Faure, adapted here to the rustic nature of the French Navy divers’ work. Made up of a 22 mm navy blue polyethylene woven ribbon with a silver central thread, a titanium “D” buckle and a self-gripping fastening system, it adapts to different wrist sizes and is very comfortable to wear.

TUDOR PELAGOS FXD

An additional one-piece rubber strap with an embossed motif and buckle is also included with the Pelagos FXD. It is the first time that this very supple, comfortable strap has been offered by TUDOR.

The Manufacture Calibre MT5602 that drives the Pelagos FXD model (reference 25707B/21) displays the hours, minutes and seconds functions. It has the finish typical of TUDOR Manufacture Calibres: its rotor in tungsten monobloc is openwork and satin-brushed with sand-blasted details, while its bridges and plate have alternate sand-blasted, polished surfaces and laser decorations.

Equipped with a non-magnetic silicon balance spring, the Manufacture Calibre MT5602 is certified as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The power reserve of the Manufacture Calibre MT5602 is about 70 hours.

The Abingdon Co. Jane & Nadia

The Abingdon Co. is adding three models to its new Tactical watch line, Jane, and two models to its new SCUBA Dive line, Nadia, in celebration of its fourteen year anniversary: November 3, 2021. Designed and final assembled in Las Vegas, Nevada, the new Jane timepiece is American built with an Ameriquartz movement by FTS, an Arizona-based movement supplier/assembler.

The Jane and Nadia timepieces are the first watches by The Abingdon Co. to have a bi-directional inner compass as well as a ruler built into the back of the strap and case back. Both timepieces have a compact 35mm case size combined with a robust 20ATM (660 ft) water-resistance not often found in such a condensed package.

The Abingdon Co. Jane Tactical Watch

Beginning with aviator watches for women fourteen years ago, The Abingdon Co. is further expanding its reach to offer purpose-built watches for women in the outdoors and tactical markets with the introduction of Jane. Jane was designed and tested by nine customers who are active in the outdoors and military industries. They are all existing customers of The Abingdon Co. and have occupations ranging from farmer to secret service.

Four women have military backgrounds and the other five are civilian. It took three years to build and test Jane to be the best tactical watch offered for women, combining structural integrity of a brushed 316L Stainless Steel case and screw down crowns with a hardened sapphire crystal.

The Abingdon Co. Jane Tactical Watch

Together with military time conversion, standard and metric rulers, a bi-directional compass, glow-in-the-dark dial markings, day and date display, a diver’s bezel, and its Ameriquartz Caliber 7122 quartz movement, Jane is built to be as tough as the women whose wrists she will adorn.

The new much-anticipated dive watch, Nadia, which originally debuted in 2019, will now available in a second black and pink version called Black Abyss along with its first white and blue color combination, Whitewater. Powered by the Seiko TMI NH06 Automatic movement, Nadia has a 40+ hour power reserve and can dive down to depths of 20ATM.

The Abingdon Co. Nadia

Two screw-down crowns assist in maintaining the water resistance while also controlling the time function and a bi-directional compass. The 16mm silicone strap has been intentionally elongated to fit over not only wet suits, but also thicker dry suits.

The Abingdon Co. Nadia

Following the launch on The Navy Exchange in late October, The Abingdon Co. is developing more emphasis on women in the military. With the NEXCOM launch, current and retired military can use their veteran’s discounts while shopping online for Abingdon watches on the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine exchange websites.

The Jane enforces the intentions of The Abingdon Co. to support women in the armed forces. For years, many servicewomen have been wearing Abingdon watches and have been active in telling the company what is lacking in the watch world for them. Peren Nera Rogue

Peren’s brand new timepiece, the Nera Rogue is inspired by an iconic military dive watch.

In the 1960s, the legendary Swiss Maison Blancpain created the Tornek Rayville TR-900 diver for the United States Navy.

Peren Nera Rogue

It was specially developed for the US Navy’s Experimental Diving Unit for use by its Underwater Demolition Team divers, a unit that would later become known as the Navy SEAL’s.

Peren Nera Rogue

Only around 1,000 pieces were made, and most were subsequently destroyed because the watch was using a radioactive element. This timepiece is a rare horological gem and only about 30 pieces exist as on date.

Peren Nera Rogue

Taking inspiration from the legendary TR-900 timepiece, the Peren Nera Rogue is a distinctive hand built automatic Swiss dive watch with unique features.

This Swiss made diving timepiece features a 39mm diameter case made of marine grade stainless steel. The Nera Rogue watch is equipped with a screw-down crown at 3 o’ clock and a black PVD unidirectional rotating bezel. The fluted conical rotating bezel offers supreme grip and smooth operation.

Peren Nera Rogue

The watch is water resistant up to 200m/660ft. It houses an in-house regulated Swiss Automatic Sellita SW200 movement, which provides a power reserve of 38 hours when fully wound.

Peren Nera Rogue

Presently, the Peren Nera Rogue watch can be pre-ordered via the brand’s online store. The pre-order price is CHF 449 and the recommended retail price will be CHF 689.00.

Estimated delivery: November 2021.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

Young watch brand Revelot presents R11 Hexmariner, a dress styled dive watch that reinterprets the designs of iconic diving timepieces like Submariner.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

While maintaining the silhouette of the Sub, the overall case and bracelet of the R11 Hexmariner watch are given more angular and edgy by introducing chamfers and hexes giving an industrial edge to the iconic profile. Both brush & polish metal finishes give this modern tool watch a touch of a classic elegance.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

The watch is mounted with a unidirectional ceramic bezel with C3/BGW9 Swiss made Super-luminova.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

An anti-reflective chamfered sapphire glass protects the dial side. Instead of the emblematic lollipop hands, the brand has decided to fit a sturdy chamfered sword shaped hands with mirror on the side and brush on the top with a generous dash of Super-Luminova. Same for the Indexes in order to match the drapes; hex shaped chamfered blocks filled with C3 or BGW9 Swiss lume depending on model.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

R11 Hexmariner boasts an embossed Crystal Star pattern dial which harmonizes with the overall design. The watch is also available with a Muonionalusta meteorite dial.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

The R11 is powered with the Seiko NH35 self-winding movement with date display. Fitted with a decorated exhibition caseback, the Revelot Hexmariner offers 200m water resistance.

Revelot R11 Hexmariner

On 19th October this year, the brand launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the initial mass production of the R11 Hexmariner watch. During this one month long crowd-funding drive, the brand is offering a special launch price of $279.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition, Reference: RE-AU0501B

ORIENT STAR, celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2021, is launching the Diver 1964 model from its ORIENT STAR Sports Collection with a limited edition of just 500 pieces worldwide.

The Diver 1964 model reflects this proud history, reproducing the original design of the Olympia Calendar Diver model, released in 1964, with an upgrade to contemporary diver’s watch specifications. This exceptional model combines a vintage design with ORIENT STAR’s latest high-performance in-house movement.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

The Diver 1964 is based on the Olympia Calendar Diver launched in 1964 after several years of development work for divers’ models that started from the early 1960s. It joins the ORIENT STAR Sports Collection, established in 2019.

The Diver 1964 reproduces the same features of the original model: a rotating bezel made of solid stainless steel, three-dimensionally cut indices, an arrow-shaped hand, and a case shape with sharp lugs, while offering significantly improved water resistance compared to the original model’s 40 meters.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

This new model’s water resistance has been upgraded to 200 meters – compliant with ISO standards for air diving watches. Refined qualities such as a screw down crown and screw case back, a dual curved sapphire crystal with a non-reflective coating, are also required to meet the standard of authentic divers’ watches.

The mechanical movement has also been upgraded. In contrast to the hand-wound movement in the original 1964 model, this new model has a contemporary automatic movement for increased usability. This in-house caliber F6N47 provides stable high accuracy and 50-hour power reserve. Another new feature is the indicator which shows the power reserve’s remaining running time. Most ORIENT STAR models come with a power reserve indicator as standard, however it’s rare to find this feature on diver’s watches.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

The comparatively compact 40.2 mm diameter case, the pure steel colored rotating bezel, and the black dial create an understated look, making it ideal for everyday use. The metal bracelet uses the same high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) as the case, providing a substantial presence and a comfortable fit. The trifold clasp comes with push button, security latch and divers’ extension, making the watch practical to use for sports activities and urban life.

The Diver 1964 model is available in a worldwide limited edition of 500 pieces and each watch has a serial number engraved on the case back.

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

To create this impressive timepiece, Ulysse Nardin has blended the characteristics of its two distinct watch families: DIVER and EXECUTIVE SKELETON.

The Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON is an exclusive edition of skeleton diving watches. It is limited to 175 timepieces, all numbered. all of Ulysse Nardin’s DIVERS, the DIVER X SKELETON is designed to withstand atmospheric pressures up to 20 ATM (200 meters).

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

The watch is equipped with a concave inverted unidirectional rotating bezel, which protects the domed sapphire glass against untimely impacts.

The completely redesigned self-winding UN-371 movement is visible through the 44mm case. Originally designed for the EXECUTIVE SKELETON collection, it has been improved by the addition of an oscillating weight in the shape of the Ulysse Nardin’s iconic X. There is also a barrel cover placed at midday with a blue Carbonium®, which is the same as the bezel. The hours, minutes and seconds hands are coated with Superluminova.

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

Creating the dial interface of the DIVER X SKELETON in the shape of the blue PVD X was one of the most technical and complex developments ever undertaken by Ulysse Nardin. The hour markers had to be secretly connected to the dial, so they appear to be floating.

To achieve the sensation of depth, overlaid layers were used to emphasize the tiered construction of the central “X”. Different levels of finish were also employed to cause a play of light, which was amplified by the transparency of the skeleton movement.

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

The case, microbeaded on the sides with satin polished lugs, has been coated in blue PVD. Orange details, such as the hourmarkers, the internal lines of Ulysse Nardin’s signature “X” and the protective rubber around the crown, add vibrant pops of colour and emphasize the model’s sports origins.

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

On the bezel, Ulysse Nardin has used blue Carbonium®, a material originally used on its FREAK X. Carbonium® is an extremely light weight aerospace material and among the most robust and durable materials ever developed by scientists. It is made from the same fibers as those used for the fuselage and wings of the latest generation of aircraft.

Ulysse Nardin DIVER X SKELETON Limited Edition

Because its manufacturing process involves using waste materials, it has a 40% lower environmental impact than other carbon. This high-performance material is created using a complex process which involves subjecting carbon fibers, which have a diameter of only 7µm, to high pressure and temperature conditions. The process causes the fibers to form a pattern that is unique to each watch.

The DIVER X SKELETON comes on a rubber strap in either ocean blue or supercharged orange with an element adorned with the Ulysse Nardin anchor also in orange.

HVD SpectreDiver

Co-founded by Travis Tan and his wife Vivian Ko, HVD is a Singapore based watch brand. Recently, it has launched a Kickstarter Campaign for promoting the brand’s debut watch collection, the SpectreDiver.

HVD SpectreDiver watch

Inspired by the designs of vintage tool watches, this versatile timepiece houses a hand-wound movement. Featuring a classic stainless steel case with bubble-dome plexiglass crystal and a vintage scratched dial, the SpectreDiver pays tribute to the versatility and durability of the diving watches manufactured during the 1950s and 1960s.

HVD SpectreDiver kickstarter

The SpectreDiver features a vintage 40mm case. Each vintage scratched dial is individually hand-embellished, so no two dials are ever the same.

HVD SpectreDiver watch kickstarter campaign

Its boat-shaped hour and minute hands as well as the 12 applied hour-markers are treated with Swiss Super-Luminova for ensuring visibility of the dial indications.

HVD SpectreDiver diving watch 200m

The 2.5 mm thick domed plexiglass is reminiscent of the crystals of vintage timepieces. The movement beating inside each timepiece is the Swiss-made hand wound calibre SW210-1. Beats at 28,800 vph, this 19-jewel mechanical manual winding engine provides a power reserve of 42 hours.

HVD SpectreDiver

Water resistant to 200 meters, the watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel featuring a triangle 0/60 marker with lumed dot. The watch boasts alternative brushed and polished finishing on the case.

HVD SpectreDiver manual-winding dive watch

The HVD SpectreDiver watch is available in three colorways: Emerald, Onyx, and Moonstone.

Presently, for the backers of its Kickstarter online fund raising project, HVD is offering a special discount price starting from $399. The campaign was launched on July 5th, 2021 for two weeks. In future, the retail price will be $579.

TUDOR has successfully submitted its Black Bay Ceramic Reference 79210CNU model for tests to obtain a Master Chronometer certification as part of a constant bid to improve the quality of its products. This is the first application of this standard to a watch in the TUDOR collection. This certification, which requires a substantial number of changes to the TUDOR Manufacture Calibre, will mean that TUDOR will be able to offer accreditation by an independent body, confirming the excellent quality of its watches.

Its standards are incredibly high, starting with precision. In order to qualify, a watch must be able to function within a 5-second range of variation each day (0 +5), that is to say 5 seconds less than the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) (-4 +6) carried out on a single movement and a second less than TUDOR’s internal standard, which is applied to the brand’s models with a Manufacture Calibre (-2 +4). The certification also guarantees the timekeeping accuracy of a watch subjected to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss.
