Credor 50th Anniversary Special Edition Eichi II

Credor, the premium watch brand of Seiko Watch Corporation, is celebrating its 50th anniversary by launching a new Eichi II Special Edition (reference GBLT996) model.

Founded in 1974, Credor offers luxury watches that showcase the beauty of Japanese aesthetics combined with the excellence in watchmaking. The year 2024 marks its 50th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, the brand has proposed a special edition of the acclaimed Credor Eichi II watch.

The original Credor Eichi, created in 2008, and its successor, the Eichi II, have been renowned for their refined design, exquisite finishing, and the technology behind their movements. Both models are also known for the understated yet refined beauty of their hand-painted porcelain dials.

The Special Edition Eichi II watch created to mark Credor’s 50th Anniversary features an 18K yellow-gold case and a deep blue porcelain dial. The dial colour is known as ruri, the Japanese word for lapis lazuli. Created by applying with porcelain glaze, the slightly domed dial offers varying colors depending on the angle of view and the brightness of the surroundings.

The hour markers, the Credor logo at the twelve o’clock position, and the Credor letters are all hand-painted by a craftsman at the Micro Artist Studio in Shiojiri. Located in the Shinshu region, this exclusive workshop makes Spring Drive watches of Seiko Watch Corporation.

To create the dial of Credor 50th Anniversary model, the brand has employed a special technique inspired by ‘Ruri-Kinsai,’ a famous yet rare form of traditional Japanese craftwork in which gold is overglazed on ruri-colored material, such as porcelain.

Each Credor 50th Anniversary Special Edition Eichi II watch houses a manual-winding Spring Drive Caliber 7R14. Visible through the sapphire crystal case-back, the movement’s barrel echoes the bellflower, the symbol of Shiojiri City, where the Micro Artist Studio is located.

The two hand-finished bridges have high-polished edges, and the power-reserve indicator and the screws are tempered by hand to a vivid blue color. Equipped with the Torque Return System, Caliber 7R14 delivers a power reserve of 60 hours.

Proposed in a limited edition of 30 pieces, the Credor 50th Anniversary commemorative watch will be available from June 2024.
