Louis Erard 1931 – 75th Anniversary Edition
Louis Erard was born in La Chaux-de-fonds to a family of watchmakers. Twenty years of diligent training at school and in the workshops of Neuchâtel provided him with the demanding know-how which led him to create a company and then file his own brand Louis Erard et Fils in 1930. His sons, René and Jean-Louis assisted him from 1945, a year of economic recovery and hope following the war.
In 1956, Louis Erard was given the right to manufacture his own movements and launched himself into modifying movements bearing his seal. René and Jean-Louis then followed in their father’s footsteps until Paul, the grandson of Louis and from a banking background, provided a more commercial approach in 1969, which generated rapid growth for the brand.
There then followed years of prosperity, especially in the Middle and Far East, and ambitious investments up to 1992, when ownership of the company was transferred and it was relocated to Le Noirmont, where it is still located today. Since 2003, year of the brand revival, Louis Erard is marching to a creativity rhythm.
In 2006, Louis Erard celebrated its 75th anniversary by reviving the 1931 Collection in four variations of the manual or self-winding movement in steel version. To commemorate this prestigious jubilee, the factory of Le Noirmont (JU) also launched each of the 1931 four variations in a limited edition of 75 watches in 18k pink gold.
The Moon phase model from Louis Erard 1931 75th Anniversary Collection houses self winding ETA 2824-2 and Dubois Dépraz 9000 module. In addition to basic timekeeping functions, this timepiece displays day, date, month and Moonphase.
The Moon phase model is available in stainless steel or limited edition 18k rose gold versions. The Stainless steel model comes with opaline silver or black skeleton dial and 18k rose gold model boasts a black skeleton dial.
The GMT model from Louis Erard 1931 75th Anniversary Collection is equipped with ETA 2892 self winding movement and TT651 module. Available in stainless steel or 18 carat rose gold (limited edition) versions, the GMT is loaded with Big date and Second time zone functions.
The Stainless steel model comes with Opalin silver or black skeleton dial and the 18k rose gold model has black skeleton dial. It features a big date aperture at 12 o’clock and Second time zone at 6 o’clock.
Both Regulator and small seconds models from the 75th Anniversary Collection house the Peseux 7001 hand-winding calibre modified by Louis Erard. Both models are available in stainless steel or limited edition 18 carat rose gold versions.
The Regulator model boasts a skeleton dial featuring classical minute track and Côtes de Genève decoration. It displays Hours at 12 o’clock, minutes in the centre and has a sub dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock. In small seconds variation, the Stainless steel model comes with opaline silver or black skeleton dial and the limited edition 18k rose gold model has a black skeleton dial.
