Reverie Diver
Singapore based micro-watch brand Reverie has launched their latest crowd funding campaign to promote the brand’s Diver Collection.
Founded in 2014, Reverie had introduced three successful watch models (Sea-spirit, Classic and GT), before venturing into its fourth model, the Diver.
This young brand is known for their limited edition timepieces featuring ornate guilloche pattern dials. The Reverie Diver marries Reverie’s elegant design language with the utilitarian functionality of a dive watch.
Made from 316L stainless steel, it is one of the thinnest automatic dive watches around. Its 40mm diameter case is only 11mm thick despite having a display case back and an external rotating bezel. Fitted with a sapphire crystal glass and screw-down crown, the Reverie Diver features a 20 ATM (200 meters) water resistance.
The dial balances aesthetics with legibility. The signature guilloché dial is exciting to look at as it almost shape shifts under different lighting conditions. Despite this, legibility is maintained by the sector dial layout, bold hands, and the contrasting lume colours (blue on the hands and green on the markers). As of now, the brand is offering four dial colors: Navy blue, Moss green, Warm grey and Burgundy.
The Reverie Diver’s visual appeal and wrist presence are maximised by the various finishes on the case (polished finishing on the flanks, circular brushing on the bezel and straight-line brushing on the case and bracelet).
Reverie Diver is equipped with a self-winding Miyota 9039 movement with 42 hours power reserve. The rotor of this movement is beautifully decorated– The graceful Japanese ‘Seigaiha’ pattern (i.e. “blue sea and waves”) is engraved on the rotor as a tribute to the movement’s Japanese roots and the watch’s aquatic theme.
Made from 316L stainless steel, the bracelet is convenient and supremely comfortable – The bracelet has: a 6mm taper from lug to buckle which minimises weight and improves comfort. Its micro-adjustments allow the user to extend/shorten the bracelet by up to 11mm on the go. The user can also change the straps without any tool.
On 27 June 2020, the brand launched a Kickstarter campaign for promoting this new collection. The campaign is active till 19 July 2020. The early-bird offers on the Kickstarter campaign is priced at US$335 (Approximately S$ 470 / £270 / €300). It is a 35% discount to the future retail price of US$500.
The brand offers delivery of watches in December 2020. The Reverie Diver watch is limited to 125 pieces per colour with each watch’s number engraved on the case-back. Each timepiece will be supplied with a leather travel roll.
