Schneider&Co Xtreme Collection – Le Mans and Speedracer

Based in Neuchâtel in Switzerland, Schneider&Co is a family owned company specialized in the manufacturing of 100% Swiss Made Aluminium watches. The Swiss brand has recently launched an online crowd funding campaign to promote their Xtreme collection of timepieces.

The Schneider&Co Xtreme watch line is composed of two models, Le Mans and Speedracer. Dedicated to car lovers and sports watch enthusiasts, these mechanical watches are inspired by the legendary GT40 racing car.

Just like other watch models from the brand, Le Mans and Speedracer are made from Aluminium. These Swiss Made watches boast unique and specific design codes and incorporate innovative technical features. The aluminum movement and watch case are manufactured in-house. Each of these unique styled watches weighs merely 50 grams, including strap.

There are several advantages for a watch made from Aluminium, which is environment friendly and has excellent corrosion resistance. Aluminium is strong and durable, yet light weight. It has better fire protection. The Aluminium housing can filter electromagnetic radiation (EMC). Thanks to its exceptional versatility, machining of the metal parts requires very low amount of energy.

Both Le Mans and Speedracer watches feature Aluminium case measuring 44mm diameter with 35.5mm dial opening and 51.2mm lug-to-lug width. The watch comes fitted with sapphire crystal front glass and mineral glass case-back.

The lacquered Aluminium four colour dial displays basic time with small seconds counter at 9’o clock. The open-worked dial layout offers the glimpses of re-worked and skeletonised UNITAS 6497 movement with Aluminium Bridges. The highly exceptional 17 jewel, 21,600 vph UNITAS hand-wound mechanical movement can also be admired through the mineral glass caseback.

Each timepiece comes with a high-quality leather strap in orange or deep black with perforations that evoke vintage car racing. These straps are equipped with laser engraved and tinted aluminum buckles. Both Le Mans and Speedracer watches are water resistant to 30 meters.

The brand has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign with a pledged goal of $25, 178. The campaign will be running till 19 October 2018. By backing this project, customers will get an opportunity to buy Le Mans or Speedracer watch in highly discounted price ranges starting from CHF 495 (Approximate US$ 499) with estimated delivery in December 2018.
