IWC Schaffhausen Celebrates the Opening of Its First Boutique in Qatar

Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has opened the brand’s first boutique in Qatar, in the Lagoona Mall in Doha, in collaboration with its authorized retailer in the country, Al Majed Jewellery.

With the opening of this new boutique in Doha’s upscale Lagoona Mall, IWC Schaffhausen now has nine boutiques across the Middle East.

Underscoring the significance of the Qatari market to IWC, the new boutique arrives as an addition to two existing boutique-concept points of sale in Qatar and is part of the brand’s expansion plans in the country. The new boutique offers the discerning customer a bigger display area for timepieces, where each watch family has a dedicated space decorated with carefully selected accessories, such as books and pictures, inspired by their diverse and unique universes.

Among the timepieces on display at the new boutique, some of the highlights are examples from the brand’s Portugieser collection, which recently celebrated its 75th anniversary.

A major attraction is a special edition launched to mark the 75th anniversary of the iconic Portugieser family: the IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month Edition “75th Anniversary” (Ref. 3972).

With this new timepiece, the Portugieser watch family now includes a model featuring a digital display for the date and month.

This exclusive wristwatch packs a wealth of IWC watchmaking expertise into its 45-millimetre case: perpetual calendar, digital large date display, leap year display, chronograph with flyback function and the IWC-manufactured 89801 calibre with its efficient double-pawl winding mechanism and quick-action switch.

The watch is fitted with an arched-edge front glass and Santoni alligator leather strap and has an attractive new calibre design. The watch is limited to 25 pieces in platinum and 75 pieces each in 18-carat red gold with either a black or silver-plated dial.
