Vulcain × Seconde/Seconde/ × Revolution Cricket Tradition ‘Vulcain Salute’
After successfully reviving the iconic Swiss watch brand Vulcain, Guillaume Laidet has collaborated with Romaric André and Wei Koh (founder of Revolution, The Rake & Grail Watch) to create a special edition collection. The new Vulcain × Seconde/Seconde/ fuses the iconic Cricket watch characteristics with unexpected aesthetic styles of Seconde/Seconde/.
Guillaume Laidet is a new generation watch entrepreneur credited with reviving Nivada Grenchen and now Vulcain. Meanwhile, Romaric André is better known by his creative sobriquet seconde/seconde/.
This Vulcain × Seconde/Seconde/collaborative timepiece is based on the Vulcain Cricket mechanical alarm watch. Inspired by the Vulcan Salute, a hand-gesture popularized by the Star Trek series, André designed a distinct seconds hand for this timepiece.
The Vulcan hand is available in the four different colors of the Star Trek uniform — red, blue, gold and green. For the dial of the watches, André selected the black Tradition model with applied indexes.
To offer more variety, the green and gold come in 36mm, while the red and blue are presented in 39mm. For further distinction, gold-toned indexes are used for the smaller case size with the gold and green hands, and steel indexes for the larger size watches with the red and blue hands.
Production of Vulcain × Seconde/Seconde/ is limited to 25 pieces of each reference. Each watch comes with a second strap in a tone matching its Vulcan hand.
