The Camden Watch Company No. 29 Crest Edition: New Limited Edition Celebrates the Camden Borough Coat of Arms

The Camden Watch Company, an independent British brand based in the heart of Camden founded by wife and husband team Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, will be launching a limited edition men’s timepiece on 27th February – No. 29 Crest Edition.

Created as part of the brand’s newly launched Design Lab, the timepiece is based on the Camden motto ‘Not For One But For All’ which inspired the brand’s idea of creating handsome, well designed watches.

The crest itself is based on the Camden Borough coat of arms, which was designed to incorporate elements of the crests from the three boroughs that were combined to form Camden (Holborn, Hampstead and St. Pancras).

The Camden Watch Company No. 29 Crest Edition: New Limited Edition Celebrates the Camden Borough Coat of Arms

The No.29 is heavily based on Camden’s railway heritage, inspired by classic pocket watches as worn by Victorian train conductors.

There are several key elements on the dial of the No.29 Crest edition which are drawn from vintage pocket watches; the tall, thin roman numerals, the seconds crest sub-dial, the outer minute track and the thin faceted hands.

The added second level to the dial gives it a more interesting relief and an outlined external minute track, turning it into what is colloquially known as a ‘train-track’ minute indicator.
