Barbier-Mueller “Mosaïque” For Only Watch 2017
A unique edition of MOSAÏQUE by Barbier-Mueller timepiece will be auctioned during Only Watch 2017 charity edition. This highly exclusive Made in Geneva mechanical wristwatch pays homage to fine watchmaking and decorative arts.
The entire timepiece, from the dial to the rose gold case, features a subtle cloisonné motif that evokes the art of mosaics, which dates from the end of the fourth century B.C. In a reference to the pocket watch, the back has a cover that is similarly decorated. When opened, it reveals its heart – a mechanical gold movement designed by the revered watch manufacture FP Journe – Invenit&Fecit.
The prototype of MOSAÏQUE by Barbier-Mueller, with its rose gold case, ideally showcases the play of light over the coloured jasper stones.
On the back, the decorated case cover features a small central platinum disk that bears the engraved words ONLY WATCH and the number 7.
