Saint Honoré Haussman Forty 7 Edition

Paris based watch maker Saint Honoré was chosen as the official time-keeper for the 7th Francophone Games held in Nice in mid-September 2013, which brought together 3 000 participants, including 2 500 competitors from 57 different States and governments from amongst the 77 members of the French-speaking world.

Organised every 4 years in the year after the Olympic Games, these Games invite young people from the French-speaking world to compete in sports competitions and cultural events in an atmosphere of mutual friendship.

To celebrate this event and this partnership, Saint Honoré created a chronograph, the “Haussman Forty 7 Edition”, produced in a limited edition of 57 pieces, a figure that corresponds to the number of French-speaking delegations attending the Games.

“Haussman City”
As an even greater mark of this partnership, Saint Honoré wanted to symbolise the competition’s 3 major prizes, the gold, silver and bronze medals, by offering the winners of the 100 metres a “Haussman City” quartz chronograph, with a pink gold PVD bezel for the gold medal, steel for the silver medal and bronze PVD for the bronze medal.

Reinterpreted in a sports-chic style and subtly urban, the Haussman City chronograph boasts a design imprinted with sobriety and finesse with a high degree of technicality. Each of the elements has been carefully designed: 42.5mm athletic frame in stainless steel, ergonomic buttons, bezel with 6 visible screws, exclusive bezel with cleverly worked hands and an impressive precision mechanism, timing to 1/10th of a second with its 3 additional counters.

Another specific feature intended to symbolise the winners’ places on the podium is that the back of each of the 3 watches will be engraved with the words (in French) “7th Francophone Games” with “Gold Medal”, “Silver Medal” and “Bronze Medal”.

“Lutecia Gent Chronograph”
The major piece in the 2013 collection, the “Lutécia” chronograph is characterised by its daring “cushion” shape and is aimed to watch collectors seeking to stand out or affirm their personality.

Set in a 42mm steel case, it combines performance, technicality, elegance and modernity. Time on the chronograph is precise and is admired thanks to a cleverly designed dial. The intense, silvery white dial illuminates the oversized Roman numerals whilst the counters – 60 seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours – lined vertically on the left, are very easy to read.

In the two-colour version, the strong character of this chronograph is affirmed in the design of its steel case combined with a bezel decorated with pink gold.

All the details and particularly the design of the lugs, have been studied to ensure perfect comfort and have been minutely finished to reveal the gorgeous brown leather strap.
