JANUS DoubleSpeed by NEUHAUS Inventing Timepieces

NEUHAUS Inventing Timepieces is a new, independent watch based in Augsburg, Germany. Founded in 2009 by Manuel Neuhaus, the company manufactures high grade exclusive watches in limited editions for watch aficionados.

The JANUS Double Speed model by NEUHAUS is a highly innovative single hand watch that comes just with an hour hand, which winds in double speed, meaning 360° in six hours. For each hour there are two cyphers, six hours apart from each other. It is up to you if it is four o´clock or ten o´clock. The hour of course is divided in half hours, quarter hours and five-minute sections. These sections are, because of the double speed, twice as big as normal and therefore directly legible.
Instead of using a sweep hand, JANUS Double Speed is provided with a new kind of running indication. At first sight you can make sure if your JANUS is operating. A black and white disc turning beneath the watch dial indicates the change of colours which takes two seconds.
The indication on the dial is well luminous, though during day time it stays almost invisible and doesn’t disturb the delicate design of the watch dial. The double-faced roman god Janus who gave the watch its name, symbolises this deliberate difference between day- and night view. At night, the five-minute sections aren’t available. The smallest unit then are the quarter hours.

To wind up the watch, turn the crown forwards. After approximately 30 twirls the maximum is reached and the mechanism will block. To adjust the time, gently lift the crown outwards with your fingernail until it clicks into place. The time can now be adjusted by turning the crown. When done, you simply press the crown back into its initial position.

Each JANUS DoubleSpeed single hand timepiece is supplied with a high quality stainless steel Milanese bracelet. A black leather bracelet is also available as an option. The length of the steel bracelet is individually adjustable. The JANUS DoubleSpeed has water resistance up to 5 ATM. All NEUHAUS JANUS DoubleSpeed watches come with a unique crown featuring a silicone ring for an ergonomic grip and the emblem on front side.

he case back has engraved the year of creation, a design model number as well as a continuous serial number. In addition, every watch is consigned with an authenticity certificate containing the same information. NEUHAUS Inventing Timepieces issues 24 month guarantee on JANUS DoubleSpeed, starting from the date of purchase.
