Chronoswiss Open Gear ReSec Paraiba Limited Edition

Unveiled at the Watches and Wonders 2021, the Open Gear ReSec Paraiba watch by Chronoswiss incorporates a handmade guilloché watch display that agically changes from soft turquoise and petrol blue into jungle green and deep purple. The timepiece´s varying hues are as mesmerising as the semi-precious Paraiba tourmaline unique to the Brazilian region.

After months of testing a plethora of treatments, colouring agents, lacquers, finishes, patterns and materials, the most stunning result came from a secret, unique type of nano-decorative chemical vapour deposition. The relentless experimenting also led to the conclusion that the light reflection achieved with a short-wave guilloché pattern executed by hand in the Lucerne atelier was fundamental to achieving this mesmerising effect.

Chronoswiss Open Gear ReSec Paraiba Limited Edition

It mimics the different varieties of the Paraiba tourmaline. When exposed to light, the display of the timepiece changes from a soft, tropical lagoon turquoise to jungle-dark green, and from petrol blue to blue violet. Through this unique mix of traditional handmade guilloche and innovative use of CVD, Chronoswiss is able recreate the wonders of nature in a modern mechanical way.

Chronoswiss Open Gear ReSec Paraiba Limited Edition

The rest of the Open Gear ReSec Paraiba is packed with Chronoswiss characteristics, such as a regulator set-up with separated hours, minutes and seconds – in this case a 120-degree retrograde second in a conscious allusion to a 17th-century invention.

Add to that the typically knurled bezel and an abundance of fine finishes and grains, including a circular satin finish on the funnelled hour ring and a horizontally sanded plate revealing the number of the limited edition of 50 timepieces.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Pitch Black Limited Edition

Inspired by science fiction, the latest Chronoswiss SkelTec collection is taking its open-worked horology into the dark. Matt black parts make an extremely reduced and see-through timepiece with a hand-wound 166-part movement housed in an organically shaped 51-part case.

Presented during Watches and Wonders 2021, this new SkelTec model’s knurled bezel and onion crown, typical Chronoswiss design markers, are, as all 51 parts of the case, coated with black DLC.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Pitch Black Limited Edition

An added value for the lugs is that they use the patented Autobloc system for an extremely secure fixture of the band: a leather-lined textile strap with folding clasp, developed exclusively for the SkelTec collection.

The SkelTec Pitch Black features a 45mm diameter case. The minimalistic hand-wound C.304 movement operating at 28,800 vph was designed in the Lucerne atelier and is exclusively used for the SkelTec collection. The first thing you notice is the open screw balance at 6 o’clock, reminiscent of a black hole.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Pitch Black Limited Edition watch

Just below the balance, and at 11 and 1, you will find the triangular bridges that anchor the fundamental parts of the movement, including the balance, the main spring and the halo-like minute ring with white numerals.

The central, soot-black X-shape – achieved with a chrome coating – carries the white-lacquered hands filled in with black Super-LumiNova. The wheels are covered with a dark grey rhodium coating and a circular grain, whereas other parts are sunray brushed.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Azur Limited Edition

Swiss luxury watch maker Chronoswiss expands its SkelTec collection by unveiling new model called SkelTec Azur.

The SkelTec watch is celebrated for its extremely reduced, hand-wound movement with an open balance wheel and its organically shaped case with skeletonised lugs. Featuring a black DLC case, the new model highlights a captivating azure color theme.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Azur Limited Edition watch black pvd case

The 166-part hand-wound C. 304 movement boasts an X-shaped monobloc construction vertically aligning the timekeeping with the open balance wheel while surrounded by contemporary twists on one of the most royal of colours there ever was – that of a sky without clouds. This intense blue was achieved in the past by pulverising the mineral azurite and mixing it with oil to various viscosities.

The extremely minimalist dial is held in place by four bridges in the shape of perimeter triangles placed at 11, 1, 5 and 7.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Azur Limited Edition watch

The black central X gets its matt finish from a chrome coating – a dramatic backdrop to the white lacquered hour and minute hands filled in with Super-LumiNova providing a discreet green lustre in the night. The star-shaped roof of the mainspring barrel, the moving wheels and pivoting pins are plated with rhodium, the extremely stable and corrosion-resistant noble metal with the atomic number 45.

Through the screwed-down case back with sapphire crystal with double anti-reflection treatment you will see a more classical approach to decoration. Equally eye-catching is its satin-brushed finish, with chamfered, polished angles.

Chronoswiss SkelTec Azur Limited Edition manual winding mechanical watch

The design of the SkelTec case features organic free-flowing forms, which reflect the fluidity of time itself. The sculptural curves of the crown guards exemplify this design approach, which crescendos in the sensually hollowed-out lugs. When these revolutionary elements come together, the overall look is delicate, yet bulletproof, while maintaining the iconic Chronoswiss signifiers.

The strap in calfskin and textile is developed especially for the SkelTec collection, while using Chronoswiss screwed-in lugs with the patented Autobloc system.

Chronoswiss Open Gear Tourbillon Limited Edition

In the year 2000 Chronoswiss unveiled the world’s first serially produced regulator tourbillon. Now the Lucerne based brand presents the Open Gear Tourbillon, a modern mechanical timekeeper with a unique regulator set-up, electric blue case and a hypnotising handmade guilloche decoration. Its half-skeletonised flying tourbillon is completely designed in-house, and it is exclusive to Chronoswiss watches.

The tourbillon Chronoswiss manufactured more than 20 years ago – Régulateur à Tourbillon – also had a guilloché dial. Now Chronoswiss unveils the C.303 – its own half-skeletonised tourbillon movement, and the guilloché is added by hand in its atelier in Lucerne.

Chronoswiss Open Gear Tourbillon Limited Edition watch with blue CVD case

With the Open Gear Tourbillon the ‘blue hour’ gets a whole new meaning. Using 10 different shades of the colour historically symbolising loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust, the calm display of the watch is contrasted especially by the energetic, almost aggressively electric blue CVD coating on the 17-part, stainless steel case.

The Trigono-shaped hands are blue lacquered, with Super-LumiNova inlays and tips. For the hour and five-minute indexes, generous amounts of blue-hued lume are combined with zirconium oxide into solid bricks and pillars that shine through the night.

The tourbillon may have roots stretching back to the end of the 18th century, but the Open Gear Tourbillon has everything you should expect from a modern mechanical timepiece.

Chronoswiss Open Gear Tourbillon Limited Edition watch electric blue case

The watch dial is an elaborate 42-part construction on two levels: the bottom level is hand-guilloched, whereas the upper level features skeletonised train wheel bridges and a funnel-like construction for the hour display. Other design details include all particular signifiers of a Chronoswiss watch: knurled bezel, onion crown and the hornback crocodile strap held in place with the patented Autobloc system.

There is also a hidden special engraving on the reverse side of the dial – for a unique melding of modern mechanical watchmaking and heritage, since the idea of a secret signature was in vogue around two centuries ago when the tourbillon was invented.

The Chronoswiss Open Gear Tourbillon is limited to 15 pieces.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Pink Panther Limited Edition

With the Flying Regulator Open Gear Pink Panther, Lucerne based brand Chronoswiss continues its strong tradition with a regulator set-up on distinctive three-dimensional hybrid dials made of handmade guilloché coated with contemporary materials in strong colours.

This modern mechanical regulator watch features a black 41-millimetre DLC-coated case with a sparkling pink CVD-coated dial. The Chronoswiss Open Gear Pink Panther is not only a colourful timely statement; it is also a celebration of handmade guilloché.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Pink Panther Limited Edition watch

The pattern laid down with the aid of a century-old rose machine features a high amplitude – the distance from the centre towards the perimeter – and short length; thus the light reflects vividly while giving you the illusion of a sparkling chessboard.

In 1988 Chronoswiss was the first brand to take the regulator to the wrist. And ever since it has undergone a modern mechanical evolution, the most significant aspect is the hybrid dial, which doubles up as a module board for the regulator. The hour hand makes its slow dance inside a funnelled subdial and skeletonised train wheel bridges are held in place by hand-polished screws – in all the watch display is a multilevel construction of 42 parts.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Pink Panther Limited Edition watch with black DLC case

The Pink Panther has a 10-bar (100 meters) watertightness and a double antireflective coating of the sapphire crystal. The timepiece is held in place by a hand-stitched strap with an outer layer of black rubber and an inner, extremely comfortable leather lining.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Pink Panther Limited Edition automatic watch with sapphire crystal case back

Its automatic, stop-second calibre C.299 is equipped with a skeletonised rotor, which is decorated with Côtes de Genève and a colimaçon (spiral) pattern. It also carries a pink CVD coating in the same hue as the dial. These colimaçon spirals are also applied to the bridges and plates of the movement.

Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph Flag

Chronoswiss expands its iconic Opus family by presenting the new skeletonised Opus Chronograph Flag. Made of stainless steel, this new model sports a skeleton dial with blue, white and red highlights.

On the new model, the bridges of the Chronoswiss Calibre C.741S movement have a galvanic black finish, which provides a shadowy backdrop to the sweeping hours, minutes, seconds, date and the bright red chronograph seconds. You will also see the skeletonising clearer than ever before, as the curved sapphire crystal is now getting a double anti-reflection treatment.

Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph Flag

Around for more than a quarter-century, the Opus architecture has been thoroughly updated. Its new geometry combines a 41-millimetre diameter with shorter lugs hugging the wrist more comfortably. Finishes include a satin-brushed case band, shiny lugs and the typical Chronoswiss markers of a knurled bezel and generous onion crown. Its water resistance has also been improved to 100 meters.

Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph New Edition

Chronoswiss presents a new edition of the Opus Chronograph by unveiling two new skeleton models. These new skeleton chronograph models highlight the Lucerne based independent watch brand’s mastery in contemporary and classical skeletonising.

Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph New Edition CH-7543.1S-SI Stainless steel case with silver dial

The mechanical clarity of the classical Opus Chronograph is achieved by dexterously paring away all superfluous material, leaving nothing but a filigreed skeleton – which functions just as well as when fully fleshed.

The 2020 version of the exceptionally complex 300-part masterpiece Opus Chronograph – which in 1995 advanced the skeletonising chapter at Chronoswiss – has been thoroughly updated. It now offers a modern geometry with a 41-millimetre case and shorter lugs, hugging the wrist more comfortably.

Chronoswiss Opus Chronograph New Edition case back viewThanks to the double anti-reflection treatment of the sapphire crystal, the skeletonising can be admired clearer than ever before. And in line with contemporary user-friendly needs and expectations, the watertightness has been upgraded to 100 metres.

Chronoswiss SkelTec

In September 2020, Lucerne-based independent watchmaker Chronoswiss announced the introduction of SkelTec, a brand new mechanical skeleton watch in two limited edition versions. This 45mm diameter timepiece is driven by the Caliber C.304, an exclusive 166-part manufacture movement with a power reserve of 48 hours.

Chronoswiss SkelTec

The radically progressive design of the SkelTec also applies to the stainless steel case with a DLC treatment. Organic free-flowing forms reflecting the fluidity of time itself are clearly seen in the sculptural curves as well as in the sensually hollowed-out lugs. This extremely technical modern timepiece however maintains the Chronoswiss signifiers like the knurled bezel and the onion crown.

CHRONOSWISS

Chronoswiss is a Swiss watch brand based in Lucerne in Switzerland.

Founded in 1983 by Gerd-R. Lang, Chronoswiss began its horological adventure in Munich in Germany by introducing mechanical wristwatches and pocket-watches produced in Switzerland.

Gerd-Rüdiger Lang began his career at a renowned chronograph manufacturer (Heuer) in Switzerland in 1964. He arrived in Munich to serve as the authorized representative of the manufacturer’s German subsidiary in 1974.

When the “Quartz Crisis” put a forced end to this business in 1981, the man who had chosen Munich to be his new home continued to operate a repair service as a freelancer. He also repaired mechanical timepieces for friends and acquaintances. Meanwhile, an idea was gestating in his mind: he longed to create a collection of his own watches, which he would christen “Chronoswiss.”

In the hard times of the Swiss watch industry Gerd-R. Lang bought surplus stocks of watches and mechanical movements because he loved the traditional art of watchmaking.

In 1983, he turned his passion into a profession and founded the Chronoswiss Company in Munich. At the beginning, the company produced watches in series by using modern calibres and manufacturing limited specialities whose production has been suspended for many years.

In 1987, the company launched Régulateur hand-wound wristwatch, their first serially manufactured wristwatch with a regulator-type dial. In 1990, Chronoswiss started manufacturing of its own models in Munich and introduced the Régulateur Automatique watch with its exclusive manufacture Chronoswiss C.122 movement.

In 2002, Chronoswiss established a subsidiary in Switzerland to handle production and logistics. In 2006, the company moved into a new manufacture building in Karlsfeld in the outskirts of Munich for uniting development, production, sales, marketing and shipping under one roof.

Since February 2012, Chronoswiss has been under the ownership of Ebstein family. The brand celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2013 by launching the Régulateur 30 limited edition collection. In June 2014, Chronoswiss moved into its new HQs located in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Chronoswiss New Regulator Classic

After its facelift, the tried-and-tested Regulator Classic now re-emerges with a sporty elegant overall appearance.

The relaunch is in this case not limited to the dial, but includes the entire watch. In the future, the all-rounder will be available in two different sizes: in addition to the 41mm diameter (a Chronoswiss standard), the Regulator Classic is also available in a 37mm case. The timepiece has been consistently revised in many other ways, especially the shortened horns providing a contemporary touch.

Chronoswiss New Regulator Classic watch with galvanic blue dial

To enable its full use day and night, the watch comes as standard with a redesigned bracelet made of sturdy stainless steel attached directly to the case. The steel bracelet and the increased water resistance of 10 bar / 100m make the Regulator Classic the perfect companion for almost all occasions.

The source of power for the challenges of everyday life is the proven automatic C.295 caliber with a power reserve of over 40 hours, which Chronoswiss has equipped with an independent regulator modification.

Otherwise, the Regulator Classic remains true to its name – its appeal stems from the blend of a classic appearance with sporty-elegant accents. Refined details such as the guilloche interior of the hours and seconds display, or the precisely scaled hands reflect the brand’s high level of watchmaking know-how.

Chronoswiss New Regulator Classic watch with galvanic grey and black dial

Not least through carefully selected color and material combinations, Chronoswiss has created an uncomplicated automatic watch that effortlessly masters the balancing act between watchmaking tradition and timeless design.

The Regulator Classic is available as described in two sizes and three versions: very purist with a galvanic silver dial and thermally blued hands, or slightly more unconventional galvanized in midnight blue. The third version is even sportier, introducing a dash of dynamism with signal red accents against a dial galvanized grey and black.

Whether silver-colored, blue or grey and black, in every version elements made of Super-LumiNova guarantee optimal readability even in the dark – and make the Regulator Classic the perfect all-rounder 24/7.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Anniversary Edition

Chronoswiss is celebrating its 35-year history with the limited Flying Regulator Open Gear Anniversary Edition – hence the colored 35 on the minute scale – and simultaneously is honoring its bestselling model.

The anniversary watch’s unusual design is a play on the Regulator theme, placing it front and center with the “Open Gear” design. The dial simultaneously serves as its module board, onto which the train wheel bridges of the skeletonized gears are mounted.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Anniversary Edition

The train wheel bridges have also been elaborately skeletonized and boast carefully angled and polished edges. Six polished screws keep them reliably in place, showcasing once again the brand’s principle of functional design. The Flying Regulator Open Gear also reveals surprising insights at 6 o’clock. The dial and the bridge have been skeletonized at the height of the small second so that you can see the second wheel in action.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Anniversary Edition

The Anniversary Edition was first launched to celebrate the brand´s 35th birthday in 2018 and is now complemented by two additional color combinations. Manufactured in a limited edition of just 35 watches, the Anniversary Edition now features stainless steel cases with black-colored dials and outer rings in bright metallic orange. Another 35 timepieces are available with a blue dial and black outer ring.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear Anniversary Edition

The dials for the anniversary watches are painstakingly guillochéd by hand in the House of Chronoswiss studios using a historical rose engine machine.

The individual limited edition number is also applied by hand, whereas at the back, a special engraving further commemorates 35 years of Chronoswiss. Super-LumiNova inlays on the hands and indexes also always ensure optimum legibility in the dark.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Night and Day Limited Edition

This new special edition watch is a beautiful marriage between avant-garde design and traditional métiers d´arts, which become evident in the dial sophisticatedly decorated with guilloche by hand. The wave-like pattern is crafted onto the dial in the House of Chronoswiss in Lucerne by means of an ancient rose-engine lathe, and afterwards galvanized blue.

The unusual and intricately designed day/night dome display at the 9 o’clock position is another thing to catch the eye. It was embedded in a half-dome and given a gleaming metallic look with titanium. The stars on the night side even glow in the dark thanks to their Super-LumiNova coating.

The luminous white material on the hands and indexes also significantly helps to ensure optimum legibility at night. The day side is a lighter shade of blue. The dial design alone comprises a total of 19 parts.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Night and Day Limited Edition watch

In terms of color, the new limited edition focuses on the elegant combination of blue and silver, complimented by a stainless steel case. The limited edition numbers of the 50 timepieces are meticulously painted by hand on the bottom of the day/night display.

Alongside the latter, the Flying Regulator Night and Day watch also features a 3-day date display at the 3 o’clock position. At the 6 o’clock position, the dial reveals some intense insights. Here, Chronoswiss has artfully uncovered the seconds wheel, on which the funnel-shaped scale draws the gaze almost hypnotically. The day/night display and date are easy to set using the crown.

Apart from the limited edition, three further designs are available in the collection: elegant red gold combined with a matte black galvanized dial, or a sporty stainless steel case with a blue or silver dial.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton 2019 Limited Edition

Chronoswiss concentrates on the essentials for the new Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton: With its barely existent dial and a skeletonized movement, the stunning timepiece is freed from all superfluous material.

The result is a multidimensional Regulator watch with an elaborately constructed dial and deep insights. The skeletonization exudes a particularly contemporary aura due to the masculine size of 44 mm and the innovative clear lines of the piece.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton 2019 Limited Edition watch CH-6721RS-BLSIB 18-karat red gold

In addition to the “no frills” language of design, the dynamic coloring supports this effect. The funnel-shaped hour scale in bright colors is an absolute eye catcher. Through the semi-transparent varnish, the circular graining of the funnel is still visible.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton 2019 Limited Edition watch CH-6723S-BLSIB Stainless steel, blue and silver dial

Chronoswiss’ love of detail and horological finesse is also on display here: There is a smaller counterpart under the minute hand that accurately depicts an inverse image of the areas of the minute scale on a central miniature scale. These are hidden from view due to the overlapping of the large scale with the hour funnel. This trick elicits unclouded joy for the sophisticated design because the minutes can still be precisely read.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton 2019 Limited Edition watch CH-6723S-BKYE Stainless steel, black and yellow dial

The aesthetically skeletonized hand-wound movement is characterized by a stop seconds mechanism: Activating the crown triggers a slide that blocks the balance spring. Thus even the seconds hand can be stopped and precisely set.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton 2019 Limited Edition watch CH-6723S-BKLB Stainless steel, black and blue dial

The latest addition to the Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton range is limited edition; only 30 timepieces are being manufactured featuring a dial in galvanic black with contrasting accents in bright red and yellow, light blue and orange, or red and coral. Two more classic color combinations are available in a red gold or stainless steel case featuring a blue and silver dial each.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second

With the Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second, ReSec for short, for the first time in its more than 35-year history, Chronoswiss presents a regulator timepiece in a striking 44mm case with an automatic movement.

The C.301 is an exceptional automatic calibre developed by Chronoswiss. The refined Open Gear construction makes the regulator mechanism a main design element.

It is put into the spotlight at the face of the dial, where the train wheel bridges in charge of the off-centre hour display were skilfully skeletonized and screwed firmly to the dial, which in turn becomes part of the movement. The eponymous retrograde seconds hand sweeps along the tracks of a 120 degree scale and every 30 seconds jumps back to the start in a trice.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6925-BKGRE Stainless steel case with DLC coating, galvanic black dial

So much technical sophistication demands taking a look at the exterior of the new arrival: the case reveals a dynamic touch and was specially redesigned by Chronoswiss.

The bezel is distinctly robust and, depending on the case finish, radiates a fascinating lustre. With its shortened horns, the timepiece sits comfortably on the wrist. The 42-piece dial is also worth a second look through the double-coated sapphire crystal.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6921R-GRSI 18-karat red gold case galvanic grey dial

Regardless of the intriguing play of colors, which make each variant something special, it impresses with its high level of sheer craftsmanship: the dial surface is elaborately hand-guillochéd for each individual timepiece in the series. This is administered with much love and skill on a historic rose-engine in the workshops of the House of Chronoswiss, Lucerne, thus creating an exceptional fusion of innovative design and traditional craftsmanship.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6923-SIBL Stainless steel case galvanic silver dial

The hand-guillochéd dial means, however, that the Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear ReSec can be made only in a limited edition of 50 units worldwide. They all carry their individual limited series number on the dial. Other noteworthy features include the intense indexes that glow persistently in the dark, made of a mix of Super-LumiNova and ceramics, whose massive cylinder shape provides a perfect match for the 3-D design of the dial.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6925-BKGRE Stainless steel case with DLC coating, galvanic black dial

The hands in the shape of elongated triangles and also equipped with Super-LumiNova inlays ensuring optimal night readability, were specially designed by Chronoswiss. The rear of the Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear ReSec is also worth a second glance, as the beauty of the embellished movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal back.

Versatility determines the collection in all five versions. Particularly eye-catching is the model in blue, whose color is by no means limited to the dial, with its case being entirely “Electric Blue”. It derives its fascinating color through the coating with a high quality, extremely scratch-resistant DLC (diamond-like-carbon) finish with a hardness of 4,500 Vickers, also ensuring its irresistible lustre.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6925-BKRE Stainless steel case with DLC coating, galvanic black dial

The components used for the complex dial construction are also coated with blue DLC, such as the skeletonized gear train bridges and the hour gauge funnel. And even at night, the blue color variation remains true, because all the fluorescent elements such as the inlays of hands and indices match the blue of the Super-LumiNova Blue Line. It’s no surprise that the bracelet also fits into the color scheme.

The versions with highlights in bright green or red are also colorful, standing out effectively from the black DLC case and the hand-guillochéd, black galvanized dial – and in the truest sense of the word, since all colored parts are further prominently highlighted on second and third levels. The stitching of the distinctive Hornback crocodile leather straps is bright green or red enhancing the particular accent.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator Open Gear Retrograde Second watch CH-6926-BLBL Stainless steel case with blue DLC coating, blue dial

There are finally two more variations both classical and yet contemporary. While the timepiece with a solid red gold case and elegant grey strap and dial is impressive, the alternative stainless steel case houses a galvanic silver dial with blue accents, taken up by the blue Hornback crocodile leather strap. This variant is also available with a steel bracelet on request.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator, New Models

The Grand Regulator in its distinctive 44 mm case has been a permanent fixture of the Chronoswiss collection for more than 20 years.

In 2017, this classic watch was given an upgrade and has boasted its innovative 3D dial design ever since under the name of Flying Grand Regulator. In addition to this serious timepiece with its stainless steel case and midnight blue dial, two more Flying Grand Regulator versions in bold color combinations will be launched in spring 2019 each of them featuring a DLC coated case.

At a hardness of 5,000 Vickers, a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating comes close to diamond and is extremely resistant to scratches or chemical influences. This process also gives the stainless steel case a dark, almost mystical look which is combined with different colors.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator watch New Model 2019 CH-6725-YEBK Stainless steel case with DLC coating, yellow dial

Yellow and black: A strong contrast to the black DLC case, the dial glows in a bold yellow that was created especially for Chronoswiss and perfectly sets off the delicate guilloche pattern. A red accent on the hands and numerals adds variety. 30 watch lovers will be able to get their hands on one of these.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator watch New Model 2019 CH-6725-GRBK Stainless steel case with DLC coating, black dial

Grey and black: The second new color combination is equally dynamic, combining a galvanic grey dial with a sporty DLC coated case. A fresh splash of turquoise injects some color alongside the red. Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator watch New Model 2019 CH-6725-GRBK Stainless steel case with DLC coating, black dial

The Flying Grand Regulator is set apart by its intricate dial design featuring several levels: While the lower one is decorated with the characteristic guilloche pattern designed at Chronoswiss´ in-house studio, a second level was designed over it on screw-fastened bases with the scale for the central minute display. The dial is topped off by the funnel-like displays for the hour and second floating above the minute scale.

Chronoswiss’ love of detail and horological finesse is also revealed in the latest addition to the Regulator collection: There is a smaller counterpart under the minute hand that accurately depicts an inverse image of the areas of the minute scale on a central miniature scale.

These are hidden from view due to the overlapping of the large scale with the hour funnel. This trick elicits light-hearted joy for the sophisticated design because the minutes can be precisely read. The aesthetically, sophisticatedly designed hand-wound movement is characterized by a second stop: Pulling on the crown triggers a slide that blocks the balance spring. Thus even the second hand can be stopped and precisely set.

The three dimensional Flying Regulator watch is now available in a Night and Day version  showcasing an eye-catching multi-level dial layout with enhanced luminous details and complex movement modifications in true, inimitable Chronoswiss style.

Just like the Flying Regulator Open Gear, the Flying Regulator Night and Day is also a completely in-house development, from design to module construction. Most of the components required are manufactured locally in Lucerne.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Night and Day watch CH-8763-BKRE Stainless steel case galvanic black dial

Looking at the Flying Regulator Night and Day, the unusual and intricately designed day/night dome display at the 9 o’clock position is the first thing to catch the eye.

Alongside the aptly named day/night display, the Flying Regulator Night and Day has a 3-day date display at the 3 o’clock position. At the 6 o’clock position, the dial reveals some intense insights. Here, Chronoswiss has artfully uncovered the seconds wheel, on which the funnel-shaped scale draws the gaze almost hypnotically. The day/night display and date are easy to set using the crown.

The Flying Regulator Night and Day is available in four exciting designs – one of which is a limited special edition of 50 worldwide. Its design is based on the classic contrast between a deep cherry red and the galvanic blackness of the dial.

Red highlights emphasize the funnel-shaped hour display and the seconds wheel designed like a rotary dial. The limited edition number is meticulously painted by hand on the bottom of the day/night display.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator – New Colour Versions

The Grand Regulator in its distinctive 44 mm case has been a permanent fixture of the Chronoswiss collection for more than 20 years.

In 2017, this classic watch was given an upgrade and has boasted its innovative 3D dial design ever since under the name of Flying Grand Regulator. In addition to this timepiece with its stainless steel case and midnight blue dial, the brand is presenting two more Flying Grand Regulator versions in bold color combination, each of them feature a DLC coated case.

Chronoswiss Flying Grand Regulator watch new models

In first version, the black DLC case houses a bold red dial with delicate guilloche pattern. A second shade of red, coral, on the hands and numerals adds variety. This version is available in limited edition of 30 pieces.

The second new color combination is equally dynamic, combining a deep black galvanized dial with a sporty anthracite DLC case. A fresh lemon yellow injects some color alongside the red. Highlights on the dial and hands are mirrored on the striking alligator hornback structure strap. This combination is limited to just 15 pieces.

These are hidden from view due to the overlapping of the large scale with the hour funnel. This trick elicits light-hearted joy for the sophisticated design because the minutes can be precisely read.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear

In 2018, Chronoswiss is celebrating its 35th anniversary and also marks the 30th anniversary of Regulator, the first stand-alone model in the history of the great Swiss watch company. In this year, Chronoswiss is launching a new interpretation of the popular Regulator timepiece.

Following the revolutionary 3D dials and skeletonizations of recent years, Chronoswiss is now introducing the Flying Regulator Open Gear version featuring a revolutionary regulator style dial layout with visible movement parts.

Its dial is simultaneously its module board, onto which the train wheel bridges of the skeletonized gears are mounted. These move on four ruby bearings, generating the least possible friction. The train wheel bridges have also been elaborately skeletonized and boast carefully angled and polished edges.

Six visually appealing blued screws keep them reliably in their intended place on the dial, once more proving the brand´s credo of functional design. At 6 o’clock on the dial, the Flying Regulator Open Gear reveals an exciting insight.

Chronoswiss Flying Regulator Open Gear watch

The dial and the bridge have been skeletonized at the height of the small second so that you can see the second wheel in action. As the associated seconds scale – just like the display for the hour at 12 o’clock, by the way – floats above the dial on a funnel-like display, the gaze is virtually drawn towards the inner workings and to the seconds wheel, designed to look like a rotary dial.

The Flying Regulator Open Gear comes in four different variants:  stainless steel with dials in galvanic blue, black or silver, or in a red gold case with galvanic silver dial. SuperLumiNova inlays on the hands and indexes always ensure great legibility in the dark.

This new model is a pure Chronoswiss development, from the design to the dial module. Its 37 individual parts were manufactured in Lucerne and then assembled in the House of Chronoswiss. The “Atelier Lucerne” mark, resplendent on the dial, is testament to this. Furthermore, the brand’s complete prototype construction is now performed in-house.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Bi-Colour Version

In the new bicolour version of Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator, stainless steel and red gold form an elegant bond together.

The Flying Regulator in its stainless steel case just about beams with its red gold accents: Both the dominantly designed, polished bezel and its typical onion-shape crown are made of solid, 18-karat red gold.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Bi-Colour Version

Gold-plated screws, hands and bases skillfully continue the theme on the dial. The lower level of the dial features the characteristic guilloche design specially developed in the studios of the House of Chronoswiss.

Additional excitement is lent to the guilloche pattern through the galvanization, which casts it in a dark night blue.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour, New Dial Version

In the jumping hour variant of Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator watch, the hours are not displayed as with the “classic” Regulator by sub-dials, but are presented digitally in a window, making it look like the date at first sight.

Chronoswiss dedicated a limited Regulator model to this particularly clever complication some years ago on the occasion of the brand’s 30th anniversary. And the Regulator Jumping Hour has secured itself a permanent position in the classic collection ever since.

From 2016 Chronoswiss has gone a step further for this model, too, and launched a 3D version: the Flying Regulator Jumping Hour, with a seemingly “flying” dial construction. Above the watch dials with their characteristic guilloche pattern, the sub-dials rise for the minute hand and the seconds hand, artistically designed on a plinth. The arched glass offers a particularly good experience of this three-dimensionality.

Only adding to the beauty of one of the most elegant Regulator models ever, the new dial in stunning galvanic grey really suits the Flying Regulator Jumping Hour. By the special colouring, the iconic guilloche design becomes even more fascinating.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour, New Dial Version

Depending on the angle of the light on the dial, the sophisticated geometrical pattern, appears chequered or as a complex basketwork. The Chronoswiss Signature Guilloche is an in-house design developed in the studios of House of Chronoswiss in Lucerne. That is why the “Atelier Lucerne” inscription adorns the watch dials.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour, New Grey Dial Version

The beautiful galvanic grey colour was inspired by the first enamel dials manufactured in the Chronoswiss dial workshop. Back then, those were also created in a discreet shade of grey which accentuated the beauty of the guilloche pattern dial.

The galvanic grey is even reflected on the back of the watch. Through the transparent case back introduced by Chronoswiss decades ago, watch aficionados can admire the rotor galvanised in grey, too.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton Limited Edition

Chronoswiss concentrates on the essentials for the new Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton: With its barely existent dial and a skeletonized movement, the stunning timepiece is thus freed from all superfluous material in an innovative manner. The result is a multidimensional Regulator watch with an elaborately constructed dial and deep insights.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton Limited Edition CH-6723S-BKRE Stainless steel

The skeletonization exudes a particularly contemporary aura due to the masculine size of 44 mm and the innovative clear lines of the piece.

In addition to the uncomplicated language of design, the dynamic coloring with lots of black and red accents supports this effect. The funnel-shaped hour scale in dark cherry red is an absolute eye catcher. Even the inside of the strap made from distinctive hornback alligator captures your attention with the same color tone.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton Limited Edition CH-6721SR-BKRE 18-karat red gold

Chronoswiss’ love of detail and horological finesse is also on display in this latest addition to the Regulator collection: There is a smaller counterpart under the minute hand that accurately depicts an inverse image of the areas of the minute scale on a central miniature scale.

These are hidden from view due to the overlapping of the large scale with the hour funnel. This trick elicits unclouded joy for the sophisticated design because the minutes can still be precisely read.

The aesthetically skeletonized hand-wound movement is characterized by a stop seconds mechanism: Activating the crown triggers a slide that blocks the balance spring. Thus even the seconds hand can be stopped and precisely set.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton Limited Edition CH-6723S-BKRE Stainless steel

Skeleton watches have become a tradition at Chronoswiss. For example, it was the first brand to present a serially produced, skeletonized automatic chronograph (Opus) in 1995.

This was followed with the Pathos model in 1998, also a skeleton chronograph with a split second function, as well as the first skeletonized chronograph in the sporty Timemaster line in 2014.

The Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton is limited edition only: 10 in red-gold case and 30 in stainless steel case.

CHRONOSWISS Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour New Galvanic Grey Dial Version

CHRONOSWISS presents a new stunning galvanic grey dial version of its one of the most elegant Regulator models.

By the special colouring, the iconic guilloche design becomes even more fascinating. Depending on the angle of the light on the dial, the sophisticated geometrical pattern, appears chequered or as a complex basketwork.

CHRONOSWISS Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour New Galvanic Grey Dial Version

The Chronoswiss Signature Guilloche is an in-house design developed in the studios of House of Chronoswiss in Lucerne. That is why the “Atelier Lucerne” inscription adorns the watch dials.

The beautiful galvanic grey colour was inspired by the first enamel dials manufactured in the Chronoswiss dial workshop. Back then, those were also created in a discreet shade of grey which accentuated the beauty of the guilloche pattern dial.

CHRONOSWISS Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour New Galvanic Grey Dial Version

An exciting play on the Regulator (watches with off-center hours and seconds, and a minute hand from the center) is the variant with the jumping hour. The hours are not displayed as with the “classic” Regulator by sub-dials, but are presented digitally in a window, making it look like the date at first sight.

Chronoswiss Sirius Regulator Classic

As a new addition to the Chronoswiss Regulator family in 2016, the Sirius Regulator Classic stands out by its classic and timeless appearance in combination with fresh and sporty emphases.

Distinguished details such as the guilloched interior of the display for hours and seconds, the precisely aligned length of the hands and the thrilling contrast between matt-finished and polished surfaces create a harmonious overall appearance.

Not least with its carefully selected combinations of colours and materials Chronoswiss has created an unconventional automatic watch that masters the balancing act between watchmaker tradition and timeless design.

Sirius Regulator Classic CH-8723-SI: Stainless steel case, galvanic silver dial

The model with the 40 mm case made from stainless steel is available in three variants: in an entirely purist form with a dial in galvanic silver and thermally blued hands or, less conventional, in deep midnight blue, while the blue is echoed in both models by the interior of the calfskin strap.

Sirius Regulator Classic CH-8723-BL: Stainless steel case, galvanic blue dial

The third variant is all classic and sporty: On the dial in galvanic black, signal red tones add that little dynamic extra that is emphasised by the casual rally design of the strap with red colour elements.

Chronoswiss Sirius Flying Regulator Jumping Hour

An exciting play on the Regulator is the variant with the jumping hour. The hours are not displayed as with the “classic” Regulator by sub-dials, but are presented digitally in a window, making it look like a date at first sight.

Chronoswiss dedicated a limited Regulator model to this particularly clever complication some years ago on the occasion of the brand’s 30th anniversary. And the Regulator Jumping Hour has secured itself a permanent position in the classic collection ever since.

In 2016, Chronoswiss is going a step further for this model, too, and launching a 3D version: the Flying Regulator Jumping Hour.

Above the watch dials with their characteristic guilloche pattern, the sub-dials rise for the minute hand and the seconds hand, artistically designed on a plinth.

The arched glass offers a particularly good experience of this three-dimensionality. As with its close relative, the Flying Regulator, the watch dials of the Flying Regulator Jumping Hour are also dominated by the elaborate signature guilloche.

Depending on the angle, the sophisticated geometrical pattern, which reveals its true beauty when exposed to light, appears chequered or as a complex basketwork.

The Chronoswiss Signature Guilloche is an in-house design developed in the studios of House of Chronoswiss in Lucerne. That is why the “Atelier Lucerne” inscription adorns the watch dials.

This Regulator model also comes with a choice of several colours and material variations, from the classic and timeless combination in a red gold or stainless steel case and a silver dial to dials in enigmatic black, which are lent a dynamic touch by signal red hands, through to extravagant, sporty galvanic tones such as blue or orange.

Straps with coloured interior leather specially made for the Flying collection play skilfully on the colour tones.
