YEMA Superman Swiss Edition
The new YEMA Superman Swiss Edition is a faithful reissue of the iconic Superman ref. 53.00.16 from the 1970s featuring distinct design elements like the 990 feet WR straight-lugs steel case with its patented bezel-lock mechanism.
A retro vibe aluminum bezel and double domed crystal complete the overall vintage look, along the iconic shovel-shaped sweep second hand. Equipped with a Sellita SW200-1 caliber, this edition is manufactured and assembled in Switzerland.
While the brand’s primary focus will be on production of its French Manufacture calibres (CMM.10 / CMM.20 / CMM.30), starting in 2025 YEMA will gradually replace the YEMA2000/3000 models by new ones equipped with generic Swiss calibers.
To manufacture the new Superman Swiss Edition, YEMA has partnered with a Swiss watchmaker based in Biel / Bienne. This new strategic partner will oversee the manufacturing and assembly of YEMA models equipped with Swiss calibers. This new range will feature a Swiss Made label while maintaining an accessible price point.
The 120 clicks unidirectional aluminum dive bezel, graduated to 60 minutes, features the o’clock is found on most Superman models since 1963.
Inspired by the 1970s original Superman model, this Swiss edition features a vintage looking dial with printed hour markers paired with a Superman handset, comprising the iconic arrow minutes and shovel seconds hands that provide scuba divers with an accurate indication of dive times.
YEMA’s historic coat of arms is embossed on the case-back with a hydraulic press, then sandblasted through different micro-blasting processes for a refined finish.
With 26 jewels, the Swiss made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement beats at 28,800 A/h and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. The hour markers, hands and bezel pip are coated with Grade A Super-LumiNova.
The 316L stainless steel bracelet alternates brushed and polished links for a timeless and sporty look. It features a diver’s extension so that it can be easily and quickly adjusted over a diving suit.
The YEMA Superman Swiss Edition watch will be available in 39mm and 41mm from February 21, 2025, with immediate delivery.
