The double dome sapphire crystal has also undergone a change to make it more resistant while retaining the original DNA of the Superman. The height of the glass has been reduced by 0.3 mm while widening by 0.6 mm on its outside diameter.

The unidirectional, aluminum bezel comes with 0-60 marking intervals and a luminescent bead zero-mark at 12 o’clock. The hands, dial markers and bezel graduation are treated with Grade A SUPERLUMINOVA®, so as to offer perfect readability in low light conditions.

Yema Superman 500 Destro with Grey Dial

The Superman 500 Destro features a unique grey dial reserved for this left-handed model. The iconic seconds hand with its head shaped like a shovel is exactly the same used in other 1970’s Superman models. For this DESTRO version, the Superman’s bezel lock is at 9 o’clock and has proven very useful for professional divers.

The 2.60 mm double domed sapphire crystal offers better readability, enhanced resistance and a resolute vintage look.

The second-generation in-house Caliber YEMA2000 offers a Daily Rate of +/- 10 s/d and a power reserve of 42h. The bottom of the 316L steel case has been modified from 1.5 mm to 2.2 mm thick. The water resistance is 50 bars.

The stainless steel case-back features YEMA’s historic crest, treated with different methods of microblading which allows it to bring depth. The 250 watches are engraved with a unique number from 001 to 250.

Bi-directional 24-hour graduated bezel made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, offering a high-quality appearance. The GMT complication makes it possible to read up to 3 different time zones thanks to the GMT hand and the rotating (24 clicks) bezel.

The unique Superman bezel-lock at 3 o’clock has proven very useful to professional divers and is found on all Superman models since 1963. New technical improvements allow this Superman to be water resistant up to 50 BAR (500 meters) and 3 BAR (30 meters) with the crown unscrewed.

The markers, hands and bezel are treated with Super-LumiNova Grade A to ensure increased readability. The iconic seconds hand with its head shaped like a shovel is exactly the same used in other 1970’s Superman models.

The YEMA Superman 500 GMT is available with Black & White, BATMAN and PEPSI themed bezels.

The GMT bezel with its Black & White sapphire insert combined with Super LumiNova, required a special and innovative design to offer day/night visibility even in the dark. This specific and meticulous construction made it possible to really dissociate the bezel in 2 parts, as can be seen by the indexes at 6 hour and 18 hour.

The bezel’s luminescent marker at 12 o’clock and the luminescent arrow-shaped minute hand provide scuba divers with an accurate indication of dive times in poor visibility conditions at the greatest depths.

The luminescent 24-hour scale on the bezel and the luminescent hands facilitates reading of the three time zones in all situations.

The bottom of the 316L steel case has been modified from 1.5 mm to 2.2 mm thick, the water resistance increased with 50 bars.

Yema presents the Navygraf FSM (French Submarine Forces) collection designed in collaboration with Marine Nationale in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Strategic Oceanic Force (FOST). This new series is comprised of two case versions: 316L stainless steel and bronze.

The Yema Navygraf FSM model has a 39mm diameter 316L stainless steel case with brushed finish. This watch features a phantom dial. Upon request of Marine Nationale military staff, all inscriptions of the Navygraf FSM have been darkened to blend almost completely with the dial.

The scratch-resistant flat sapphire crystal (2.5mm thick) and bezel offer a glossy and high-quality finish to this military timepiece. The hands, dial and bezel markers are treated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® C1 so as to offer perfect readability in low light conditions. Made of steel, the screw-down crown features Marine Nationale anchor insignia embossed.

The Yema Navygraf FSM Bronze watch features a 38.5mm diameter case. The bronze case boasts different finishes with vertical brushing, polished bevelled lugs and a circular brushed bezel. The bronze hue is also visible in the dial’s Navygraf mention, the indexes and watch hands while the black dial is reminiscent of FOST’s nuclear submarines’ hulls.

YEMA has announced the launch of the Superman FAF Search and Rescue Limited Edition watch made in new collaboration with the French Air & Space Force.

This new limited edition watch is a reissue of the historic YEMA Superman reference 24.11.17, an iconic military diver’s watch which equipped the French Air Force Aviation Rescue Swimmers in the early 1970s. The YEMA Superman FAF Search and Rescue Limited Edition watch is available to both the military and general public.

Featuring a solid stainless steel case, the watch is available in two sizes: 39mm and 41mm. It has a 2.60mm thick double domed sapphire crystal glass for a resolute vintage look. This YEMA Superman watch is water resistant up to 300 meters. The French Air & Space Force insignia is stamped on the crown.

It has a unidirectional diving bezel made of sapphire with black insert and matte white plating. The luminescent mark on the graduated bezel and the luminescent arrow-shaped hand are treated with Super-LumiNova®.

The unique Superman bezel-lock at 3 o’clock has proven very useful to professional divers and is found on all Superman models since 1963.

Made of 316L stainless steel, the case-back features France’s Air & Space Force logo. Each timepiece is engraved with a unique number from 0001 to 1000 for this limited edition.

About Yema X French Air & Space Force Collaboration

In the early 1970s, the French Air Force called on YEMA to equip Aviation Rescue Swimmers who were part of Search And Rescue (SAR) crews. This was the very first collaboration between the French Air Force and YEMA and the starting point of a close relationship with the French armed forces.

Aboard Caracal and Puma helicopters, Aviation Rescue Swimmers have become key players in Search and Rescue (SAR) missions through air-sea rescue operations in extreme conditions and hostile environments.

The Aviation Rescue Swimmers are nicknamed “THE SPLASH SQUAD”, they are primarily dedicated to the rescue of Air Force pilots who are victims of a crash in the open sea. These elite divers represent the last resort for French pilots, they intervene when conventional means can no longer intervene on open seas, that’s when “THE SPLASH SQUAD” takes off in helicopters.

Today, “THE SPLASH SQUAD” is a small elite unit of about fifty rescue divers located in 4 distinct military air bases strategically located in the 4 corners of the earth.
