Victorinox Swiss Army Watches

Victorinox Swiss Army has been producing precision instruments for over 25 years. The Victorinox Swiss Army watches are manufactured in the new Victorinox watchmaking competence center in Delémont in the Swiss Jura. These timepieces combine timelessness, reliability and functionality. Thanks to the brand’s uncompromising commitment to quality and attention to detail, Victorinox Swiss Army watches perpetuate the vision introduced by its founder over a century ago and establish themselves as objects capable of meeting the most demanding requirements.

Victorinox Swiss Army – I.N.O.X.

The name Victorinox is closely linked to the legendary “Original Swiss Army Knife”, which has its origins in the Swiss Officer’s and Sport Knife from 1897. The company’s head offices are in the village of Ibach in the Canton of Schwyz, in the heart of Switzerland. Karl Elsener founded his cutlery works here in 1884 and launched a matchless success story. Millions of people around the world link Victorinox with typical Swiss values, such as inventiveness, reliability, functionality and quality.

Today, Victorinox produces and distributes a range of valuable quality products with practical usefulness for various areas of life throughout the world: Swiss Army Knives, Household and Professional Cutlery, Timepieces, Travel Gear, Fashion and Fragrances. All these products embody the spirit of the “Original Swiss Army Knife”.

Throughout its 125-year history, Victorinox has remained true to its approach and principles. The characteristic features of the “Original Swiss Army Knife” continue to have a strong influence on the company’s orientation and shape the guiding concept for its product development and market approach in six core areas: Swiss Army Knives, Household and Professional Cutlery, Timepieces, Travel Gear, Fashion and Fragrances. All of the products manufactured under the Victorinox brand and distributed around the world embody the spirit of the “Original Swiss Army Knife”. They differentiate themselves from competitive products through their unique functionality combined with outstanding design.

Victorinox has its roots in the heart of Switzerland and celebrates a commitment to Swiss quality. This has a direct impact on the manufacturing process, wherever it takes place and is ultimately expressed in the exceptional quality of the final products.

Victorinox has become an ambassador for Swiss quality around the world. The majority of the company’s products, such as Swiss Army Knives, Household and Professional Cutlery, Timepieces and Fragrances, are produced in Switzerland. Other products, such as Travel Gear and Fashion, come from countries that can provide the necessary professional, personnel and technical resources for economical manufacture.

Through innovative logistics solutions as well as the use of radio frequency Victorinox can be identified by and experienced through its brand names, “Victorinox” and “Victorinox Swiss Army”. In the dynamic environment of a global marketplace, where products are increasingly the same and imitating innovation is standard practice, a strong brand finds its own orientation, making differentiation possible.

Since its founding in 1884 Victorinox has been a family enterprise, and this independence has proved its worth to the present day. Ten percent of the corporation’s shares are held by the founding family Elsener. Ninety percent are held by the Victorinox foundations. This model creates ideal conditions for the solution of successor issues, secures the continuity of the company and offers a guarantee for the long-term retention of jobs.

Victorinox is represented in eight countries on four continents through its subsidiaries. The worldwide sales organization currently includes brand stores in Tokyo, New York and Paris as well as Flagship Stores in London and Geneva. In addition to these stores, the brand’s global retail concept is supported by a large number of shop-in-shop retail locations.

Victorinox combines the world-famous Swiss Army Knives, household and professional cutlery, highly functional precision timepieces, high-quality travel gear, fashionable functional fashion and a line of fragrances for modern people on the go under one roof.

Production Facilities

  • Swiss Army Knives, Household and Professional Cutlery: Victorinox AG, Ibach-Schwyz (Switzerland)
  • Timepieces: Victorinox Swiss Army Watch SA, Biel/Bienne (Switzerland)
  • Travel Gear: TRG Group, St. Louis, MO, USA
  • Fashion: Victorinox SA Apparel LLC, New York (USA)
  • Fragrances: Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, Ibach-Schwyz (Switzerland)

Swiss Army Knives
The range of Victorinox Swiss Army Knives encompasses over 360 models with up to 80 functions. Victorinox offers approximately 540 different pieces of Household and Professional Cutlery for use in homes or professional kitchens. In addition, the brand produces cutlery and kitchen sets, universal knife block sets and other cutlery instruments for various applications.

Victorinox Swiss Army Knives and multi-tools enjoy an outstanding reputation throughout the world and are very popular with users of all ages and nationalities. The current broad range of products originates from a soldier’s knife that the company’s founder, Karl Elsener, delivered to the Swiss army for the first time in 1891.

Somewhat later, Elsener developed the “Original Swiss Army Knife”. This was lighter and more elegant than the official soldier’s knife and included six practical tools. And with this, the concept of the multi-tool was born. Officers in the Swiss army bought this versatile pocket tool privately in stores and very soon this revolutionary product found an ever-greater following. Demand then developed abroad. After World War II, the US Army, Navy, and Air Force PX stores sold the “Original Swiss Army Knife” to their officers and soldiers.

Over the years, the multifunctional pocket knife expanded as further tools and functions were added. Today, the “Original Swiss Army Knife” is available in more than 100 variations and combinations.

High-precision processing of steel is a core competence at the Victorinox production facilities in Switzerland. This skill finds practical application not only in the world famous Swiss Army Knives, but also in an exclusive range of Household and Professional Cutlery for professional chefs and butchers as well as household cooks. Ergonomics and ease of handling are the underlying criteria for this range of products and always in combination with Victorinox quality in the true sense of the word.

Distribution is handled through eight subsidiaries as well as through distributorships in more than 100 countries on all five continents. Victorinox is the largest employer in Canton Schwyz as well as the largest knife manufacturer in Europe. 28 000 Swiss Army Knives and approximately 32 000 other multi-tools leave the plant daily. In addition, 60 000 household and professional knives are also produced. Victorinox exports 90% of its total production.

Timepieces
The Victorinox Swiss Army Timepieces are defined by values that underscore the 125-year success of Victorinox products: Swiss quality, functionality, inventiveness and distinctive design.

The range of Victorinox watches, with over 180 models, is divided into three segments: “Active” for dynamic people; “Classic” for a sporting, luxury-oriented target group; “Professional” for those who demand the utmost in performance and functionality.

The Victorinox Swiss Army brand emerged from a fusion of the Victorinox watchmaking business and other Victorinox products. The brand Swiss Army was a creation of the American partner of Victorinox in 1989, which successfully launched the first watch collection under this brand name. The Swiss Army brand enjoys over 90% awareness in the USA. Since integration into the Victorinox Group, Victorinox Swiss Army Timepieces have increasingly gained international exposure and recognition. It should therefore come as no surprise that others have constantly tried to misuse this brand for their own purposes.

Victorinox created a strong identity in the area of Swiss precision timepieces with the Victorinox Swiss Army brand. This term mirrors the tradition and high profile of the “Original Swiss Army Knife”, on the one hand and the Swiss watchmaking tradition and the worldwide fame of Swiss watches, on the other.

Every product line has its own identity, its own style and its own expression. Nevertheless, all models share a common set of characteristics, which give them a distinctive status. These include sturdiness, a high technical standard, innovative design and exceptionally high quality. The high performance and broad range of functions make the Victorinox Swiss Army Timepieces reliable companions in all of life’s situations.

The precision timepieces from Victorinox are manufactured in the company’s own assembly facilities in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking region in Canton Jura. Sales and marketing are located in Biel/Bienne. Distribution is through the Victorinox subsidiaries and distribution partners in more than 80 countries throughout the world.

Victorinox Swiss Army produces its timepieces in its own workshops based on criteria that emphasize technical performance, so as to optimize usefulness and practicality. They meet the highest standards of the Swiss watchmaking industry. Before leaving the facility, each watch is certified after undergoing a battery of 70 tests, executed in 2 in-house homologation workshops. Among the most important tests are water resistance, temperature, corrosion, UV, traction and torsion, vibration and shock resistance, aging and wear. In addition to this long control process, they are also visually inspected between each manufacturing step. For these reasons, Victorinox Swiss Army watches have a three-year warranty. They are genuine precision instruments, modern and timeless in design, and built to last.

Victorinox Swiss Army equips its watches with Swiss Made mechanical and precision quartz movements. It selects from the best manufacturers in the country – suppliers like ETA, which has demonstrated a unique know-how in the manufacturing of movements for 200 years. ETA movements animate the brand’s mechanical watches (Valjoux, Valgranges, Unitas) and some quartz chronographs. The other supplier, RONDA, provides quartz movements with innovative new functions.

For special editions of mechanical watches, Victorinox Swiss Army develops proprietary movements with prestigious manufacturing partners. It does the same for the integration of original electronic modules, developed and produced in Switzerland for powering models like, for example, the night vision.

Victorinox Swiss Army Watches: Icons
Original: This is the brand’s first watch model, launched in 1989 in the United States. It has of course changed constantly over the years, while remaining one of the main references in the catalog. It showcases the strengths and values always displayed by Victorinox Swiss Army watch: easy readability, assertive design, superior quality and attractive price.

It now comes in two forms: a three-hand watch with date driven by a quartz movement; and a three-hand chronograph with three counters and date, also equipped with a quartz movement.

INFANTRY: as its name suggests, this model draws its inspiration from both the historical heritage of Victorinox and the tradition of military watches.

Intuitive, efficient, practical and robust, the watch’s primary mission is to ensure perfect accuracy, day or night, in everyday life and in extreme situations. it has evolved over the years, but has always kept the same spirit. It is the perfect watch for adventurers and young active urbanites seeking a refined and sophisticated design.

AIRBOSS: On an aircraft carrier, the role of the Airboss is absolutely essential: he is the officer responsible for all flights, takeoffs and landings. A watch that is robust, functional and reliable is therefore a must.

It is in this spirit that this large-sized model was designed, in two versions: mechanical movement with manual winding and automatic. An instrument of high caliber and high precision, it clearly displays its masculine character.

NIGHTVISION: Created in 2003 and later completely redesigned, the night vision owes its name to an ingenious lighting system composed of light emitting diodes (LED) of very low energy consumption. Far from being a gimmick, this exclusive device reveals its usefulness in a wide range of circumstances. A short press of the button activates a blue LED that illuminates the dial for optimal readability.

Two presses operate a white LED, which emits a continuous beam visible up to a kilometer. Three presses trigger the strobe: the flashing light is a genuine SoS beacon, which can be transformed into intense signal mode by simple prolonged press of the button. A red light helps its owner find it in the dark; another indicates battery life.

MAVERICK: The youthful and rugged good looks of the Maverick have quickly established it as a favorite. There are several versions (three hands with date, second time zone, and chronograph), several sizes and several color variations to suit all tastes.

Yet all have the same strong points, such as crown protection and a lacquered unidirectional rotating bezel offering excellent resistance to UV rays. It is the practical watch par excellence, ideal for all outdoor activities. All models are equipped with quartz movement.

DIVE MASTER 500: This model was introduced in 2003. Since, its success has never wavered. It expresses at first glance its strong character. The sturdy construction of the case and the perfect legibility of the dial, complemented by a 3mm thick sapphire crystal and 2mm thick caseback, make this watch a perfect instrument for deep-water diving.

Water resistance is guaranteed up to 500 meters (50 atm). It has a sleek, urban design, and now comes in a wide range of original colors, with a quartz or mechanical movement.

CHRONO CLASSIC: A chronograph that is both timeless and sporty in style, with a sleek and elegant case highlighted by twisted horns. This balance of proportions, which continues in the dial’s subtle finishes, in no way detracts from its sportiness.

Some versions are very masculine, while those for women are adorned on the dial with delicate nacre tones.

INOX: Launched in 2014, INOX pays tribute to Victorinox history. Its name honours an early 20th century invention that did much for the development and success of the Swiss Army Knife: stainless steel. ‘Inox’ (French for ‘stainless steel’) is synonymous with material strength, durability and resistance to corrosion.

For Victorinox in particular, it marks the link between knife making and watchmaking, between the historical activity of the company, which was founded in 1884, and the manufacture of its first watch in 1989. The collection comprises of most rugged and reliable watches ever made in Switzerland.

Travel Gear
The Victorinox Travel Gear collections include a large range of luggage, business cases, lifestyle bags, backpacks, travel accessories and personal leather goods. Each piece is designed to handle the heavy demands of intensive travel and stands out for its highly developed technology, functionality and durability. Victorinox Travel Gear is manufactured under license in the USA by TRG Group, with headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. This specialized company has produced a comprehensive range of all types of luggage and bags for Victorinox since 1999.

Fashion
Victorinox Fashion matches to the character of an active generation, which is often under way on business or pleasure. The perfect combination of natural and technical materials ensures comfort and a good feeling of always wearing just the right thing: in town, in the country, in the mountains, and on a trip. The collection includes clothing for work and play as well as indoor and outdoor activities of all kinds. The Victorinox Fashion collection was developed for the North American market in 2001 and has established itself as a label with a unique character in the course of a few years. The Victorinox SA Apparel LLC has its headquarters in New York (USA) and distribution and logistics is controlled by Victorinox Swiss Army Inc., Monroe, CT (USA). The distribution of Victorinox Fashion is exclusively done through carefully selected sales channels. These include the Victorinox Flagship Store in London as well as the brand stores in New York and Tokyo. Further distribution partners are exclusive retailers as well as leading e-commerce sites for luxury goods.

Fragrances
The Victorinox Fragrances emote a hint of the experience of sun, wind and weather in equal measure with the breathtaking beauty of the Swiss mountain region. The art of composing a fragrance lies in creating a unique fragrant touch from a wealth of possibilities. In both of the Victorinox Fragrance families, Victorinox Swiss Unlimited and Swiss Army, the perfume designers at Victorinox have succeeded in capturing and expressing this characteristic “Swiss feeling” in a refreshing way. The Victorinox Fragrance engagement began in 2003. Through the takeover of Wenger, Victorinox became the owner of a line of fragrances and perceived an opportunity there. The challenge was to transfer the spirit of the “Original Swiss Army Knife” into the world of fragrances. And, in fact, with their authentic Swiss accents, the products in the Victorinox Fragrance line capture the unique character that distinguishes the Victorinox brand completely.

The Distribution Network
Victorinox has Flagship Stores in London, Geneva and Dusseldorf. These shops carry the house’s full line of products: multi-purpose tools and pocket knives, watches, fashion accessories, luggage and fragrances. it also has  360  branded  shops  in  the  world,  including  in  Tokyo,  Hong  Kong,  Shanghai  and  Paris. Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Titanium Sky High Limited Edition

When the Swiss Army Knife had the challenges of life on earth covered, it extended its reach to include space and the daily adventures of astronauts. With this inspiring parent on its radar, Victorinox Swiss Army headed for elevated heights with its I.N.O.X. Titanium Sky High Limited Edition timepiece. Rocket scientist-approved parachute cordage and space-walk attire navigated the design process for the latest addition to the adventure-loving watch collection. The result is a trusted timekeeping tool that confirms the absence of any final frontiers from the ingrained I.N.O.X. pledge to function reliably under absolutely any circumstances.

The countdown to the launch of the new I.N.O.X. Titanium watch comprised 130 product-specific durability tests, an uncompromising pre-requisite for membership of the family. This impressive checklist embraced extreme resistance to the elements, from exposure to repeated thermal shocks, with temperature variations in excess of 60º C, to conditions endured at an altitude of 21,300 meters, twice the cruising height of an airliner.

The extraterrestrial inspiration behind the I.N.O.X. Sky High finds expression in an innovative Naimakka paracord attachment, in white and speckled black, with Technora® inner strings. This para-aramid fiber, eight times stronger than steel, contributes its own galactic endorsement of direct involvement in a robotic rover landing on Mars. Paracord has also been used to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.

The combination of the white elements and matt grey sandblasted, highly resistant titanium is reminiscent of astronauts’ outfits. Then it’s time to “put your helmet on”, represented by a transparent, magnifying bumper. This shield-like cover is included with every piece and ensures that everyday adventures only leave behind ingrained memories and not scratches. Further aviation-triggered accents in the proudly function-driven design are red military time printed beneath the crystal, three easily legible, stamped numerals and a planet-earth blue second hand.

Each of the 2,000 pieces of the I.N.O.X. Titanium Sky High Limited Edition comes in its own time capsule box. This shockproof, waterproof receptacle is a survival treasure chest. It contains a white rubber strap with a blue- and a red colored loop. This is an extremely attractive Plan B should the paracord one have been removed to create a supersonic parachute, or to make way for a different style statement. There is also a special edition white Swiss Army Knife with an astronaut metal inlay and paracord key-ring. This is a replica of the red knife that has served as astronaut’s standard equipment and is proudly displayed in the Victorinox museum. I.N.O.X. continues undaunted on its mission to make one giant watchmaking leap after another. Never losing contact with Ground Control of course.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. V

The I.N.O.X. V from Victorinox Swiss Army is a modern, high-performance timepiece that precisely reflects contemporary women’s intrinsic decision-making powers related to how to spend and measure their time. As with all I.N.O.X. watches, it can handle everyday adventures with reliably and style.

This ladies’ timepiece has a 37 mm stainless steel case with a consciously curved, sculptural shape. The hands and markers stamped on the dial echo the same belief in constitutional femininity.

Four different models make up the I.N.O.X. V range, issuing an open invitation for individuality. A version with a black dial and matching rubber strap acts as the Little Black Dress of the collection, the feminine epitome of versatility.

The crisp white shirt girl will enjoy keeping track of time in the office or after work with a predominantly white interpretation, elegantly enhanced with rose-gold details.

Two pieces have an audacious Naimakka paracord attachment, geared to the female who appreciates the look and feel of textile. A dark blue design, with subtlered accents, ranks up there with that favorite pair of jeans that feels equally comfortable mixing with heels or loafers.

And for a sporty look, with an out-there twist, there is a soft grey option, hosting hot pink accents, which can hold its own with the hippest sneakers.

The I.N.O.X. Carbon combines extremely high structural rigidity with scratch resistance and hypoallergenic properties. A total of 130 homologation tests are the first milestone facing I.N.O.X. timepieces. In the I.N.O.X. Carbon, the seal of quality finds clear expression via a mono-bloc dial with stamped markers and digits to ensure shock resistance. Its striking case gets extra shielding on everyday adventures from a translucent grey, removable bumper.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Titanium

The I.N.O.X.  Titanium  by  Victorinox  Swiss  Army  is  a  high-tech  timekeeper  that  embodies material and technical excellence. This latest addition to the I.N.O.X. family is an icon in the making. It reveals the Victorinox brand’s true colors, authenticating the result with intrinsic modernity.

Fine sandblasting led the way to a warm grey color for the multi-surfaced, geometric case and matching dial. Light titanium has proven true grit when it comes to comfort and hypoallergenic behaviour.

The smooth matt finish has inspired two distinctive trains of thought in appearance terms. In two variations it contrasts confidently with a vibrant orange or bright blue rubber strap and a second hand in exactly the same shade. A more understated alternative introduces a grey rubber strap and dynamic red second hand. Luminescent hands and indices, plus a date calendar, keep the wearer in the moment around the clock.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance Small

Celestial inspiration encounters grounded functionality in new ladies’ timepieces by Victorinox Swiss Army. The creative process behind six Alliance Small watches comprised a vision of a cosmic sky in constant movement.

Consecutive round circles, symbolizing planetary motion, structure the Alliance Small. A timeless, round, 35 mm polished case contains a lacquered circular zone directly underneath the applied indices. Each watch’s center is a perfect mother of pearl circle that gleams like a mesmerizing full moon. In orbit around six o’clock are a round diamond, reminding of stardust, and a round date aperture. Carrying the theme of the full moon’s perfect sphere to a logical conclusion is an engraved crescent shape on the case back.

The conversational piece of the Alliance Small range incorporates moonphase functionality, displayed on the top half of a midnight blue dial. It comes with the choice of a metal bracelet or a dark blue leather strap that elegantly orbits the wrist twice. Other interpretations integrate a dial resembling a black or silvery moon and a choice of black or grey leather straps, or a monochrome or bi-color metal bracelet.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance Chronograph

Performance is the firm signature of six new timepieces by Victorinox Swiss Army. These Swiss made Alliance Chronographs achieve their very own work-life balance; 24/7 reliability meets sleek styling. They accurately target the contemporary wearer’s dual-edged desire for a watch that masters everyday adventures and integrates timeless visual appeal. A distinctive day and date display confirms an intrinsic focus on functionality.

Attention to detail and a concise visual vocabulary express these chronographs’ quietly confident identity. The 44 mm case frames a symmetrical dial, where an eye for the essential testifies for timekeeping expertise.  Three consecutive circles and conservative chronograph discs express modernity, while pyramid markers and sharp hands indicate trusted know-how. Texture is a key element of the watches’ appearance. Contrasting monochromatic metallic finishes catch the light, alluding to the depth of timelessness.

At the same time, grainy leather straps are an invitation to the sense of touch, with two single stitches and a raw cut edge underlining the message of meticulous minimalism. The dial color palette comprises silver-grey, black, brown and midnight blue. Two models accentuate their elegance with a golden inner rim. Brown or black leather straps make a striking statement. A stainless steel bracelet with two rows of gold PVD links is intuitively on track.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Leather

The  tough  leather  originally  used  in  the  crafting  of  firemen’s  boots  is  a  material  that measures up to the ultimate I.N.O.X. standards of resistance. This new model from I.N.O.X. family comes fitted with a hypoallergenic strap that retains the natural grain and suppleness of the leather while incorporating the strength and durability of a high performance material.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Accessories

Unveiled in 2014, the Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. embodies the history of a pioneering brand that creates objects characterized by ultimate functionality and uncompromising quality.

It took three years to finalize the development of one of the most robust watches ever imagined. A demanding initiative, crowned with success. In just two years, I.N.O.X. has become the flagship of the Victorinox Swiss Army watch division.

Just like the famous Swiss Army Knife unfolds its blades to reveal successive layers of ingenious functions, I.N.O.X. further expands its adaptability. It is a modular and multidisciplinary toolbox featuring as many accessories as personalities. True to the brand’s pioneering spirit, they imbue the timepiece with genuine versatility.

Sold separately, a selection of 10 accessories—including paracord straps, compass bumpers and two smart bumpers known as the Cybertool—offers true freedom of expression. Thirty distinct combinations are available for each of the I.N.O.X. models.

The Cybertool
The Victorinox Swiss Army Cybertool is a smart wearable device in the strictest sense of the term. Worn on an I.N.O.X. watch, it multiplies the timepiece’s functions and opens up a world of possibilities.

Designed by the research and development center of leading computing and communications company, Acer, the Cybertool offers the best of both worlds. To ensure an optimal user experience, this smart device has been meticulously developed and simultaneously tested in the two brands’ laboratories. Produced in partnership with Acer, it gives lovers of wearable technology an exclusive solution.

The Victorinox Swiss Army Cybertool is equipped with a range of characteristics that echo the brand’s essence. Using two push buttons, the “Help” function triggers the smartphone to send three pre-set contacts a message with your GPS positionin the event of an emergency, “Find my Phone” activates your smartphone’s ringtone so you can locate it even in silent mode, and an LED backlight can be activated to improve the readability of the watch dial in the dark. In addition, the Cybertool offers all the functions expected on this type of smart device – incoming calls and messages notification, daily activity tracker, and multiple time zone display.

Compatible with iOS and Android, fitted with Gorilla Glass, and offering an average autonomy of five to seven days, it is a wrist-worn relay for your smartphone. All you need is an application, available for download. In deep black or indigo blue, at home on land or at sea, the Cybertool is the promise of adventure.

The Paracord Strap
Already present in the Victorinox Swiss Army watch collection, the paracord strap is now available as an accessory. The ideal I.N.O.X. companion, it was developed in close partnership with Swedish brand Naimakka. Hand-woven from nylon cord originally used for parachute suspension lines, its uncompromising strength is equaled only by its multifunctional nature.

The strands of this survival tool can be unravelled to cope with the most unexpected situations to improvise a shelter, secure a pack or weave a fishing net. Available with an exclusive Swiss Army Knife featuring a special blade for attaching the strap to the watch case, the unique and versatile paracord is useful everywhere and anywhere.

The Compass Bumper
Highly inspired by cellphone cases, the removable I.N.O.X. bumper adopts its fundamental features: protective and distinctive. Easily adjusted to the case of the I.N.O.X. watch, it perfectly hugs its contours.

In red, blue, black or translucent gray, it transforms the timepiece as much as it prevents your watch from the scratches of daily wear. The four cardinal points make it a compass. The four colors give it multiple identities.

Victorinox Swiss Army Airboss Mach 9 Limited Edition

Drawing inspiration from aviation, this timepiece owes its name to the supreme master of all air operations aboard an aircraft carrier—the air boss. A utilitarian timepiece whose fundamental essence is functionality and a chronograph reinforced with a slide rule. Together, they create the watch’s distinctive character. Designed for the aviation industry, it has become a reference popular with aesthetes.

The role of the officer in charge of counting down to landings and takeoffs requires unfailing precision and attention to detail—founding features of the aesthetic and technical characteristics of the Airboss collection. A case of generous dimensions, readability optimized for both day and night with a broad, contrasting dial enhanced by large luminescent Arabic numerals and understated counters. To increase the three-dimensional effect, the 24-hour military time is printed—in Victorinox red—under the sapphire crystal. The chronograph push-pieces and the crown have been inverted and placed on the left-hand side of the case. Thus inverted, they serve as a reminder that the air boss must be able to operate his watch while wearing gloves.

The crown at 2 o’clock enables the wearer to activate the circular slide rule situated on an inner rotating flange. This instrument was originally developed to facilitate calculations when airborne. It can carry out a multitude of operations—conversion, multiplication, division, and the calculation of time and distance. A rule of three, useful in everyday life, enables the wearer to convert miles into kilometers per hour, measure fuel consumption and calculate exchange rates or even a tip. In this age of high technology, analogue mechanical calculation instruments still have pride of place—proof of their usefulness in all situations. Heroic and high-performance, they experience no technical faults, crashes, or short circuits and remain the instruments of choice of engineers, architects and financiers.

With a robust 45 mm case, the Airboss Mach 9 Limited Edition is made of titanium, a light and resistant metal. Its sandblasted finish gives it a matt appearance which seems to absorb all the light surrounding it. This finish highlights its lines and gives it an authentic character. Fastened to a brown brushed leather strap—reminiscent of aviator jackets—the watch also features a removable cuff. Used in the past by pilots to prevent the cold metal touching their wrist, the cuff also enables the large 45 mm diameter to fit smaller wrists.

Equipped with an ETA 7750 automatic chronograph movement, the Airboss Mach 9 Limited Edition presents a balance of functions and design, with small seconds at 3 o’clock, a 30-minute counter at 6 o’clock with date, and a 12-hour counter at 12 o’clock.

Released in a limited edition of 250 numbered pieces, this is a reliable timepiece that is both easy to read and handle. A top-flight instrument which will win over both aesthetes and watchmaking enthusiasts.

Victorinox Swiss Army Night Vision Chronograph

After successful induction of three-hand and date versions, Victorinox Swiss Army’s Night Vision line now welcomes the most useful of watchmaking complications: the chronograph. Thanks to its clearly visible counters and push-pieces, this multifunctional instrument designed by Victorinox Swiss Army asserts its watchmaking presence.

Comes in 42 mm diameter case, the Night Vision Chronograph is an elegant steel watch with a contemporary design and a distinctive profile. An ingenious and surprising double-dealing timepiece that is practical and indispensable. Its aesthetic details immediately arouse curiosity. An illuminated red dot at 6 o’clock, a push piece between 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock, and the inscription “TIME VISION” at 12 o’clock—these are all indicators of useful functions and an intelligent device.  Lighting functions, an emergency signal and localization: these are the virtues brought together by the exclusive Victorinox Swiss Army electronic module.

Night Vision Chronograph offers 8 watch functions: Hours, minutes, Small seconds at 3 o’clock, Date and chronograph: stop seconds in the center (1/1s), 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock, add & split and 6 light functions activated using the push-piece located on the case between 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock, and which can be deactivated at any moment.

Designed for an adventurous life, the Night Vision Chronograph is also equipped with following special features:-

  • A quick press activates the dial’s LED backlighting, enabling the time to be read at night. The dial of the Night Vision Chronograph is illuminatedin one of the eight colors now available.
  • Two quick presses activate the watch’s frontal lamp for two minutes. It emits a white light with a range of around 1 m at 12 o’clock. This is sufficiently powerful to light your way or to guide a person toward you.
  • Three quick presses activate the strobe LED lightfor two minutes, which emits 150 flashes per minute.
  • By holding the push-piece down for 15 seconds, the most important function is activated. The RESCUE feature,  • • • — — — • • • , emits an SOS distress signal in Morse code, which can continue to flash for seven days and seven nights. The signal emitted has a range of more than 800 m.
  • The localization mode is activated with five quick presses. A red LED at 6 o’clock flashes every 10 seconds. It enables the watch to be located in the dark.
  • When this red LED flashes three times every 10 seconds, it means that the light module battery is reaching the end of its lifespan. Its remaining autonomy still totals 7 days.

Equipped with the Ronda 5030.D quartz chronograph caliber, which guarantees the time functions of the watch, the Night Vision Chronograph is fitted with a second battery for the LED functions.  This model presents four monochrome versions which play on two levels of reading.

The chronograph counters appear on the same level as the seconds counter and stand out by virtue of their circular satin-finished Black Ice PVD treatment. Two steel versions are available with a silver dial on an eco-leather strap or a brushed and polished metal bracelet. There are also two models coated in Black Ice PVD with a black dial and rubber strap or Black Ice PVD metal bracelet.

Victorinox Swiss Army Airboss Collection – Airboss Mach 9 & Airboss Black Edition

The Airboss collection by Victorinox Swiss Army is inspired by the countdown commander of an aircraft carrier – known as the “Air Boss” – who determines every take-off and landing time. His role requires pinpoint accuracy and unwavering attention to detail.

To mark the end of 2015, the Airboss line is welcoming its newest addition: the Airboss Mach 9 chronograph. This timepiece features all the exceptional functions introduced by Victorinox Swiss Army, namely a 180° rotation of the movement, which places the chronograph start/stop button at 8 o’clock for optimal use by the right thumb, a crown and date window at 9 o’clock, and a second crown at 2 o’clock.

Refined aesthetics, robustness, precision and perfect readability across all functions are the watchwords that guided the creators of this model, which has been reinterpreted and redesigned down to the finest detail for the 2015 version. The very open dial  is  characterized  by  oversized numerals and long central hours and minutes hands, both covered with luminescent material and topped by the chronograph seconds hand. As expected, Victorinox Swiss Army has not forgotten military time, which is printed on a circle traced in the center.

The timekeeping functions are operated in the traditional manner,  using  two  oblong  pushers positioned on the flank of the case band either side of the crown. The 30-minute counter is at 6 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 12 o’clock, the small-seconds indicator at 3 o’clock and the date aperture at 6 o’clock.

One of the most popular features of pilot watches is the practical rotary slide rule inscribed on the rotating bezel. This allows you to measure and convert different variables, such as the metric system into miles or litres into gallons, as well as speed, distance and fuel consumption. This function can prove extremely useful both in the air and in everyday life.

The Airboss Mach 9 chronograph is available in two versions: the first features an ecologically tanned brown leather strap while the second offers a stainless steel bracelet. A truly high caliber instrument, the Airboss successfully reinterprets the aesthetic codes of the first pilot watches.

The new Airboss Black Edition range showcases an essential expression of the Airboss collection. The Mach 9, Mechanical Chronograph and three hands models are now available in black PDV-treated versions with sandblasted cases that create a matt, technical and modern look. Victorinox’s signature red is present on both the seconds hand and the military time stamped on the lower part of the sapphire crystal.

The strap has been made from black canvas for a touch of elegance, with four areas of red stitching for a recognizable signature.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Paracord

The I.N.O.X. Wristwatch by Victorinox Swiss Army has already cleared around 130 tests for ruggedness and reliability under extreme conditions. Now this watch comes in a new version: I.N.O.X. Paracord.

Long the preserve of adventurers, paracord is making its watchmaking debut on the I.N.O.X Paracord. Boasting all the strengths of the I.N.O.X. watch, the I.N.O.X. Paracord is a genuine object of survival that is both practical and functional.

Its paracord strap is original, innovative and unique, woven with highly resistant multi-strand nylon cord. The exclusive braiding, developed in collaboration with Naimakka, complements the watch perfectly. The ideal companion for every adventure and expedition, the paracord strap can be unwoven and used for as many purposes as the wearer can possibly come up with. The seven internal nylon strands can also be extracted from the paracord sheath to make a variety of thinner designs or fasteners.

The I.N.O.X. Paracord watch was designed for daily lives full of adventure. The paracord strap has the potential to be an ultra-versatile survival tool. In emergency situations, the threads can be unwoven and used separately. Ideal not only for replacing that shoelace, it will also come in ultra handy for the unexpected situations often faced by adventurers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. It can be used to improvise a fishing line, a strap to tighten your camping equipment or a towing belt for your car or boat.

Originally used for parachute suspension lines, paracord complies with the extremely high standards of the US military. Its breaking strength is 250 kg. Inspired by the harnesses and buckles of parachutes, the entirely hand-made strap features a nylon retaining strap enhanced with steel loops. A sliding system makes it easier to fasten and adjust.

The exclusive I.N.O.X. Paracord timepiece comes in two Naimakka versions: a green camouflage or a black braided strap with a black dial. Each model comes with a removable transparent bumper marked with the points of the compass. This highly useful accessory and navigation instrument ensures the watch is scratch-resistant, and gives it a distinctive look.

While losing none of its style, the I.N.O.X. Paracord has a wild and rugged edge. It is a multifunctional and versatile survival watch with an assured, elegant design. The I.N.O.X. Paracord is a genuine ally of survival built to defy the twists and turns of life. Its versatility means it can adapt to the demands of both urban life and the great outdoors.

The Naimakka brand has been making braided paracord straps since 2012. It was while attempting to recycle paracord that Patrik Shields, the founder of Naimakka, discovered its properties and multifunctional nature. Paracord is an extremely resistant nylon cord consisting of seven interwoven internal strands with as many uses as the inventive mind will allow. It is so versatile that it was even used by NASA to repair a space telescope during a mission. Naimakka only uses paracord that is certified to military standards. While paracord is already familiar to survivalists, Naimakka straps have now become the ultimate accessory of urban trendsetters.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. RED

Launched in 2014, to mark the 130th anniversary of Victorinox, I.N.O.X. establishes a new industry standard for watch strength and resilience. The superlative all-terrain watch is now evolving into Victorinox Swiss Army’s core collection—first with blue, black and green models, and now with I.N.O.X. red.

I.N.O.X. embodies the quintessential values of Victorinox’s most famous creation, the original Swiss Army Knife: authenticity, strength, quality, Swiss savoir-faire and Swiss design. It pushes these qualities to the extreme by enduring 130 strength tests, a ruthless battery unparalleled in the watch industry. I.N.O.X. will survive, for example, a ten-meter drop onto concrete, temperatures from -57° to + 71° degrees Celsius, attack from all manners of corrosive products, a one-minute exposure to a 1,200° degree Celsius flame, and being driven over by a 64-ton tank.

It therefore makes perfect sense for I.N.O.X. to be launched in Victorinox signature color, the brand to which it pays homage. The shade suits it perfectly. It is also worth noting that in parallel to its robustness, I.N.O.X. cultivates other strengths, including the striking aesthetics of its balanced design. From the test lab to the wrists of stylish men and women the world over, I.N.O.X. makes the transition with ease and elegance. This versatility is accentuated by its “bumper”, a removable protector made of nylon and silicone that enables the wearer to adapt its look to fit any situation. I.N.O.X. red is also subjected to special new tests, in particular those that ensure that its color will not be altered by ultraviolet sunlight.

Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. REMADE IN SWITZERLAND

Inspired by the famous “REMADE IN SWITZERLAND” fashion collection developed for Victorinox by British designer Christopher Raeburn in 2011, I.N.O.X. is adopting recycled military leather for a limited edition of just 250 timepieces.

In 2011, the fashion division of Victorinox made the headlines during New York Fashion Week with a capsule collection entitled “REMADE IN SWITZERLAND” created by brilliant designer Christopher Raeburn. Swiss Army blankets, sleeping bags and parachutes were recycled into a clever range of clothes, and this partnership led to the appointment of Christopher Raeburn as Artistic Director of Victorinox Fashion in 2013.

Victorinox Swiss Army has chosen to honour this REMADE IN SWITZERLAND collection with a limited and numbered edition of its I.N.O.X. watch, a timepiece of extraordinary resilience. This model, limited to 250 timepieces, features a leather strap fashioned from a stock of Swiss Army military bags dating from the period 1911 to 1970.

Renowned by collectors for its incomparable quality, this vintage, vegetable-tanned leather with a beautiful patina offers unprecedented resistance despite its age, which can sometimes exceed 100 years. A removable protective bumper that can be attached to the watch case has also been created.

Cut out of the same leather, the bumper’s opening over the dial follows the contours of the trademark bezel design of I.N.O.X. Since each strap and bumper originates from a different bag or cartridge belt, every one of the 250 pieces has its own unique colour and patina. In a further mark of their individuality, each of the 250 pieces will be numbered.

Victorinox Swiss Army Chrono Classic 1/100

This year’s Chrono Classic 1/100, Victorinox Swiss Army’s extraordinary analog chronograph accurate to 100th of a second, has an elegant new silver finish.

A veritable machine for quantifying time, the Chrono Classic 1/100th now combines unique functionality with a very chic contemporary design. The addition of silver accentuates the timepiece’s signature look. The dial center has an eye-catching sun-ray satin finish, which contrasts nicely with the round polishing on the outer part. The cut-top pyramidal guilloché decoration on the two rotating discs pays tribute to the origins of Victorinox: the same guilloché pattern adorned the original Officer’s. The famous multi-purpose tool provides other stylistic elements, such as the indexes and the Swiss Army knife-shaped counterweight of the red central second hand.

By pressing the crown twice, the Chrono Classic 1/100 is transformed into a chronograph accurate to 100th of a second. The two rotating disks just above 6 o’clock display 10ths and 100ths of a second analogically. This ingenious mechanism is a unique attribute of the timepiece’s Swiss-Made FM13D quartz movement by Soprod, with whom Victorinox Swiss Army worked closely throughout the design and manufacturing stages.

The Chrono Classic 1/100 comes with a stainless-steel bracelet or a black leather strap. The latter is non-chemically tanned, using an environmentally friendly process, and then wax-treated. Chrono Classic 1/100 is a worthy heir to the legacy of the Swiss Army knife, as are all watches produced by Victorinox Swiss Army. Designed to be practical, functional and reliable, it also delivers, in this new silver edition, a happy mixture of classic elegance and innovative technology.

Victorinox Swiss Army Night Vision (New Versions)

Time-telling instrument by day, light-providing tool by night, Night Vision timepiece by Victorinox Swiss Army reveals its nocturnal powers through an ingenious LED lighting system. This year, Night Vision is enhanced with two new strap and dial colours — blue and red.

The 42mm stainless steel case in both models is treated with “Black Ice” PVD and contains a Swiss-made Ronda quartz movement.

As versatile as a Swiss Army Knife, Night Vision combines the signature qualities of a Victorinox  Swiss Army timepiece with six lighting functions, all activated by a push button on the case:

  • Time Vision: Pressing the button once activates a blue LED light that illuminates the dial, allowing the wearer to read the time and date in all conditions.
  • Night Vision: Pressing twice activates the white LED light in the case, turning the watch into a flashlight.
  • Strobe: Three quick clicks activate the signal mode of the white LED lamp, making it flash 150 times per minute.
  • SOS: A five-second push on the button turns the white LED light into an SOS distress signal in Morse code, visible up to a kilometer away.
  • Location: a red LED on the dial at 6 o’clock flashes discretely every 10 seconds, making it easy to locate your Night Vision in the dark.
  • Replacing the battery: The red LED flashes 3 times every 10 seconds to indicate that the battery needs to be replaced.

The Swiss-Made electronic module exclusively designed for Night Vision has its own battery and runs on a circuit independent of the watch movement.

Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick Chronograph

The extraordinary ride of Maverick, a veritable Victorinox Swiss Army bestseller, continues apace. After the redesign of the three hand watch model, the Maverick Chronograph has now undergone a complete overhaul.

The Maverick’s new look is first apparent on the streamlined dial, where indexes take the place of numerals—except, for ease of reading, at 3 and 9 o’clock. Overall, the dial is brighter, due to differences in depth and a new surface treatment.

Maverick Chronograph comes in the natural tones of the Swiss countryside: black, blue, green and chocolate. The same colours are found on the unidirectional bezel and rubber strap.  Bracelet editions are also available, in choice of steel, gold PVD-treated steel or two-tone steel (steel/gold PVD).

The unidirectional bezel scale is lacquer-protected on the rubber strap and steel bracelet models. Mineral glass protects the scale on the PVD coated and bicolor models, set deep in the bezel. The new Maverick Chronograph is 43 mm and powered by a Swiss Made 5030.D Ronda quartz movement.

Victorinox Swiss Army – I.N.O.X.

Since its press launch at the Baselworld Watch Fair in March 2014, the I.N.O.X. watch has experienced a veritable success story. This runaway success is the perfect birthday gift for Victorinox, which is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, and its watchmaking division, Victorinox Swiss Army, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The cornerstone of this success is I.N.O.X.’s unparalleled strength. Designed to withstand unusual levels of stress, it has undergone and passed with flying colours a battery of 130 ruthless tests that far exceed the normal certification standards of the Swiss watch industry. Unusual resistance tests were developed specifically for the I.N.O.X., and no fewer than 421 prototypes were sacrificed to ensure that it could achieve and surpass the desired objectives for strength and solidity.

After four years of development and testing, the final result: a Swiss Made stainless steel watch that is second to none. Unveiled at Baselworld 2014, the I.N.O.X. was commercially launched on 01 September 2014 at Victorinox Swiss Army points of sale worldwide.

INOX is a pledge of quality. In addition to standard testing, Victorinox Swiss Army has put it through an intensive battery of 130 tests to demonstrate its exceptional resistance, among them 30 exclusively designed tests to certify INOX as a timepiece “made to last”. INOX can, for example, withstand a 10-meter drop onto a concrete surface, have a 64-ton tank drive over it, and resists two hours in a washing machine as well as a sandstorm.

It can resist variations in temperature from -51° C to +71 ° C and 12G forces of acceleration and deceleration. INOX has also been subjected to attack by corrosive products such as gasoline, solvents, oils, cleaning products and insecticides.

INOX pays tribute to Victorinox history. Two key dates, two different crafts, but linked by a single philosophy: respect for Swiss know-how and its peerless standards of quality.

The watch’s case has been stamped and machined in the metal, creating a protective envelope of unsurpassed strength. Designed to withstand unusual vibration, shock and temperature changes, it has been reinforced well beyond the standards of a conventional timepiece, and is guaranteed to maintain a perfect seal underwater to a depth of 200 meters.

The dial is a single sealed piece. Indexes are not applied in the usual manner but stamped. The axis and the attachment of the hands are reinforced. The horns are protected against warping and solidified by a crossbar. The crown, too, is protected, as is the crystal by the slightly elevated bezel. And it comes with an original “bumper”—a removable protector composed of silicone and nylon that matches perfectly with the crown, the case and the back, without disturbing legibility. Useful and functional, the protector gives the INOX its unique look.

Made to last, with exceptionally strong characteristics, it remains nevertheless a harmoniously designed timepiece – compact and solid yet sleek. The steel has been subtly sculpted and polished to catch the light. The 2014 collection is available with dial and strap in black, khaki green or navy blue. All versions are equipped with a Swiss made Ronda quartz movement.

Highest Quality Standards for Ultimate Functionality
Some of the I.N.O.X. tests were so insanely extreme they merit special mention. For example, an I.N.O.X. is tested to be capable of resisting:

  • 8 tons compression under a hydraulic press; I.N.O.X. can also resist being driven over by a truck of 25 tons or a military tank weighing up to 64 tons.
  • Temperatures shocks from -57 ° to +71 ° Celsius. This corresponds to the standard set by the US Army for the manufacture of missiles.
  • Salt spray corrosion or chemical attacks by all kinds of fuels, oils, solvents, cleaning products, insecticides… including sulfuric and nitric acid solution. Again, a standard not for watches but for the military, borrowed from the US Army.
  • A fall of 10 meters onto a smooth concrete surface. This is the equivalent of a drop from a 3-floor building, with an impact speed of 50 km / hour.
  • Exposure to a flame at a distance of 5mm for more than one minute, which corresponds to a temperature of +1,200 degrees Celsius.
  • Glacial cold. The watch will function non-stop and without complaint, even when frozen in an ice cube for 168 hours.
  • Extreme conditions at a stratospheric altitude of 21,300 meters, which is twice the height at which the airliners fly.

These crazy performances also prove useful in everyday life: I.N.O.X., for example, will emerge unscathed after two hours in a washing machine… at 90° C and with full spin cycle. Given I.N.O.X.’s extraordinary robustness, one would expect it to look like a bunker. Its elegance, however, is apparent at first glance.

The refined design of the 43 mm stainless steel case is enhanced by a skilfully polished hexagonal bezel. Available in three colours (black dial and strap, khaki green dial and strap, navy blue dial and strap), it can be further personalized with a bumper. A totally new accessory in the watchmaking world, this removable protector in silicone and nylon lets you change the watch’s look to match your mood. Office, mountain, leisure and evening, nothing beats the I.N.O.X. for versatility: it can be worn anywhere, anytime.

Awards

  • I.N.O.X. has won a number of international awards and special mentions, including: ‐ WatchPro, the watch magazine of reference in the UK, chose I.N.O.X. over Rolex Deep Sea, Omega Seamaster Diver and Cartier Calibre for their “Sports Watch of the Year” award.
  • I.N.O.X. was selected by the American monthly Mens journal as one of the 53 most innovative products of the year.
  • The http://www.victorinoxwatches.com micro site, specifically designed to highlight the many qualities of the I.N.O.X. watch, including through videos, was designated “Website of the Day” by Design Licks, a platform showcasing the world’s most creative and inspiring websites.

Victorinox Swiss Army Night Vision 2014 Edition

The new Night Vision has all the features that made this Victorinox Swiss Army innovation such a bestselling success. This year, the iconic model with multi-function lighting module built into its case is offered with two new bracelets: “Black Ice” PVD steel or a black leather strap. The sporty, classic and versatile character of this precision measuring instrument is more expressive than ever.

Equipped with a stainless steel bracelet with “Black Ice” PVD, the new model sports the same features that have made the Night Vision a success since it first appeared in 2003. Victorinox Swiss Army is also launching a second edition, with a 42mm stainless steel case and anthracite gray dial, but accompanied by a black leather strap.

The Night Vision line illustrates a core value of Victorinox Swiss Army: functionality. The fact that it has for many years been among the brand’s best sellers is not just a coincidence. It illustrates perfectly the philosophy of the family business, combining the benefits of state-of-the-art Swiss watchmaking, the useful functions of a professional tool, and attractive contemporary design.

The evocation of Victorinox Swiss Army’s original métier underlines the link between the famous multi-function Swiss Army knife and a watch offering six of its own useful lighting functions, all operated using a push button located between 8 and 9 o’clock on the case.

For example, the wearer can illuminate the dial for optimal time reading, turn on a continuous beam and even launch an SOS rescue signal, in Morse code, that can be seen clearly a kilometer away. This avant-garde lighting feature uses low-energy consumption LED technology that is perfectly integrated into the sleek design of the dial and bracelet.

Developed and manufactured in Switzerland, the electronic module of the Night Vision is an exclusive Victorinox Swiss Army creation.

Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick Sport 2014 Edition

Maverick Sport has a very strong and sporty character, built on subtle contrasts. In 2014, the collection is enriched with eight new models: four three handed watches and four chronographs, all with original detailing on their dials. The three colours, red, blue and yellow, are a nod to the flag of the town of Ibach, where Victorinox is headquartered. The same signature is on the complementary strap in NATO fabric that supplements the original black one. All are powered by Swiss Made Ronda quartz movements.

Maverick Sport is built for action. The design is very distinctive: whether the classic three handed watch or the chronograph, it immediately asserts its sporty character through an aesthetically pleasing play of contrasts. The polished and brushed 43 mm stainless steel case with polished angles, common to both models, is demonstratively robust, a quality further enhanced by the graphic crown guard. The dial in silver or black and surrounded by a black unidirectional rotating bezel, with oversized hour numbers for easier reading, is equally uncompromising.

Every detail on the dial bears the signature of the house: the flange displays military time, and the blue hour hand is generously covered with luminescent material, as is the minute hand. catching red adorns the second hand, the Victorinox shield at 12 o’clock, and the hands on the two chronograph counters. The date window – at 3’o clock on the watch versions and 6’o clock on the chronograph – is highlighted with a thin yellow line.

Red, blue and yellow are the three colours on the flag of the municipality of Ibach, the company was founded in 1884 and where Victorinox is still headquartered today. The tricolour signature is repeated the NATO fabric strap; though, of course, both watch and chronograph models are also available with a metal bracelet in brushed steel.

Inside beat Swiss-Made quartz movements: Ronda 715 for the watch, Ronda 5030D for the chronograph.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance 30mm, Quartz

With this newest addition to the Alliance collection, Victorinox Swiss Army proves once again that refinement and elegance combine perfectly with functionality and reliability. Powered by Swiss-Made quartz movements, the three new models for 2014 in powdery pastel colours subtly combine contrasting materials: steel for the case, mother of pearl for the dials, and delicate leather for the straps.

With their slender 30 mm stainless steel cases, the new feminine Alliance editions are sleek-lined exemplars of simplicity and delicacy.

Alliance is elegance personified, highlighted by a series of exquisite details and contrasting materials. The polished steel of the case plays against the iridescence of the mother of pearl dial and the softness of the brushed leather strap, which is particularly pleasant to the touch. The combination is discreet and refined, as are the colours choices: blue, gray and pink. The powdery pastel tones of the dials and straps create a harmonious monochromatic whole that is undeniably feminine.

Alliance remains faithful to the codes that have made the collection such a success for the last three years. The polished, pyramid-shaped indexes play with the light, as do the finely faceted central hands. At 3 and 9 o’clock, the indexes give way to two Arabic numerals. The date window appears at 6 o’clock. Finally, still on the dial, an iconic feature – the famous Swiss cross emblem at noon – completes the alluring design.

Inside, at the Alliance’s heart, beats the Swiss Made Ronda 705 quartz movement.
