Orient Star has announced the launch of three limited-edition watches inspired by the colours of the sky and sea that connect the world. The new series includes three new models: Modern Skeleton and Semi Skeleton from the Contemporary Collection and Semi Skeleton for her from the Classic Collection.

Each watch features a new design reminiscent of the sea at dawn and is engraved with a limited-edition serial number on the case back.

Inspired by the seaside at dawn, the three models depict beautiful sea and sky scenes just after the sun has risen. The pink gold colour on the bezel, hands, and indices symbolises the warm light of the sun, while the gradation from green in the center of the dial to navy blue on the outer edges symbolises the emerald green of the lapping waves and the dark blue of the sky.

Orient Star Contemporary Skeleton Reference RE-AZ0101N

Japanese watch brand Orient Star has added a new Skeleton watch to its Contemporary Collection. This modern and stylish timepiece features a hand-wound skeleton movement with a silicon escape wheel and a 70-hour power reserve.

Established in 1951, Orient Star celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2021 with the launch of a new generation of Classic Skeleton watches combining advanced technology and aesthetics.

Orient Star Contemporary Skeleton Reference RE-AZ0101N

Following the Skeleton from the Classic Collection, this new model is the first skeleton in the Contemporary Collection. The new Skeleton features a new movement in grey, and a design that compliments every occasion.

The new Orient Star Skeleton watch is neither too formal nor too casual, with a modern and stylish design that is both refined yet informal. Fine hairline and mirror finishing on high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) give an edgy aesthetic appeal to the case and bracelet, and the dial tinted in grey gives a sophisticated and stylish look.

Orient Star Contemporary Skeleton Reference RE-AZ0101N

The compact and slim case with a diameter of 39 mm and thickness of 10.8 mm, the new metal bracelet with short pitch H-shaped links for comfort on the wrist, the dial with enhanced legibility, and blue hands that add an accent, all create a relaxed feel making it perfect for everyday use.

This latest Orient Star Skeleton watch is equipped with in-house F8B61 movement which complements the stylish design of the watch.

Orient Star Contemporary Skeleton Reference RE-AZ0101N

The hand-wound caliber F8B61 is not only highly precise with accuracy of +15 to -5 seconds a day, but it is also equipped with a silicon escape wheel made with the latest MEMS processing technology, extending the power reserve to 70 hours and significantly enhancing its practicality.

Orient Star Contemporary Skeleton Reference RE-AZ0101N

Another distinctive feature is the grey plating on the baseplate and bridges of the movement symbolising the vastness of outer space. The spiral shape and vivid blue colour of the patented silicon escape wheel which utilises Epson’s proprietary technology evoke images of the Milky Way. The comet-shaped balance wheel bridge all work in harmony to conjure the image of vast outer space.

Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition

Japanese watch brand Orient Star has added two new Diver 1964 2nd edition models to its Sports Collection.

Following the release of the Orient Star Diver 1964 1st edition (reference RE-AU0501B) last year, the new Diver 1964 2nd edition pays tribute to this proud history once again by combining specific design elements of Calendar Auto Orient from 1964 with a modern, high-performance in-house movement. This full-fledged divers’ watch is compliant with the ISO 6425 standard.

Introduced in 2021, the Diver 1964 1st edition marked Orient Star’s 70th anniversary. The latest addition, the Diver 1964 2nd edition, is based on the Calendar Auto Orient, one of the company’s first divers’ watches released in 1964.

Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition with Black dial RE-AU0601B

The Calendar Auto Orient featured simple dot indices on a mirror black finished dial, hands designed for excellent visibility, a rotating bezel incorporating an anodized aluminum ring, and sharply defined lugs.

The original Calendar Auto Orient equipped with an automatic movement was even more popular among watch aficionados than the hand-winding Olympia Calendar Diver which served as the inspiration for the Diver 1964 1st edition.

Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition with Green dial RE-AU0602E

While the new Diver 1964 2nd edition reflects the designs inherited from the original model, it features the same specifications enhanced for the Diver 1964 1st edition such as a screw down crown, a screw case-back, a dual curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and water resistance to 200 metres compliant with the ISO 6425 standard for air diving watches.

The in-house 46-F6 series F6N47 automatic movement provides high accuracy and a power reserve of over 50 hours. In addition to displaying the time and date, this Orient Star diving watch has a power reserve indicator, a rare function for divers’ watches.

Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition with Black dial RE-AU0601B

The new Diver 1964 2nd edition is available with a black or green dial. The black version (reference RE-AU0601B) is a faithful tribute to the Calendar Auto Orient with a mirror black finish on the dial and a matching shiny black bezel surface.

The matte green dial version (reference RE-AU0602E) comes with a matching matte green bezel. The green gradation on the dial is inspired by the Ryusendo Cave in Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Orient Star Diver 1964 2nd Edition with Green dial RE-AU0602E

Made of high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L), the compact 41-mm diameter case makes the watch ideal for everyday use.

The two new models of the Diver 1964 2nd edition deliver features of a full-fledged divers’ watch as well as designs steeped in the heritage of Orient Star.

Sold as regular models, both RE-AU0601B and RE-AU0602E feature five-piece link bracelet in 316L stainless steel. A divers’ extension structure and the trifold deployment buckle with push button and security latch are included. The pyramid-like ridges of the additional silicon strap echo the design of the metal band of the original Calendar Auto Orient.

ORIENT Multi Year Calendar New Models

ORIENT introduces six new Multi Year Calendar models to its Contemporary Collection.

Featuring a one-of-a-kind display incorporating year, month, date, and day, this model epitomises the creative watchmaking style of ORIENT, combining the functionality of mechanical watches with original designs that delights aficionados who appreciate something distinctive in a watch.

The first generation of Multi Year Calendar dates back to the 1960s when ORIENT continuously created unique models featuring daring designs. Next generation models released in the 1990s, were equipped with ORIENT’s in-house automatic caliber 46 series and became one of the most popular models.

ORIENT Multi Year Calendar New Models

The new Multi Year Calendar features this automatic functionality with hand winding plus second hand hacking caliber F6 series for improved performance. At the same time, a newly introduced see-through case back makes it possible to admire the precision mechanical movement from the back.

The calendar adjustments have been significantly improved. This new model inherits the original display system that shows the calendar for more than 20 years by corresponding the last 2 digits of the years and months at 12 o’clock, and matching the day and date at 6 o’clock. But one thing is different. There is no longer a push button to adjust the display ring, meaning that all adjustments of the calendar function can now be accessed from the crown.

ORIENT Multi Year Calendar New Models

The design of this new model has also been refined. With a slightly enlarged case of 43.5 mm in diameter and a narrow bezel, the new wider dial makes it possible to allocate the calendar displays in bigger characters providing better legibility. Big 3-dimensional hour markers and large hands with facets also enhance readability.

The new generation Multi Year Calendar comes in a wide array of colour dials as before: gold gradation, green, navy, and white dials come with a metal bracelet, while ivory and black dials come with leather straps. The colour dials not only enrich the original calendar display, but also add a fashionable touch.

The concept for the new model designs is “gentle sunlight”, and the dial colours are inspired by the gentle light of the sun shining upon water, plants, and forests. Beautiful shades of champagne gold, forest green, pale aqua, and pearl grey reflect feelings of gentleness and happiness found in everyday life and natural scenery.

Although there is a difference between the men’s and ladies’ models in featuring ORIENT STAR’s signature power reserve indicator or not, there are other common features besides the gentle colours. Both models share the same classically curved dial featuring stylish embossed index markers, delicate roman numerals, and spade shaped hands.

ORIENT STAR Classic Semi Skeleton New Models

The men’s and ladies’ models are designed to complement each other, sharing the same attractive classic-modern case shape with an elegant profile viewed from its side by gently domed mineral glass crystals, accented by rhinestone set in the crown.

A sophisticated leather strap with a French turned-edge finish completes the attractive design of these everyday fashion pieces.

The fresh new matching design, high-quality mechanical movements and accessible price point make them particularly appealing additions to the ORIENT STAR collection.

Established in Japan in 1951, ORIENT STAR originates from a desire to create a mechanical watch that would become a “shining star” in every aspect including design, components, and manufacturing. This year, ORIENT STAR celebrates its 70th anniversary.

The new Skeleton models, launched in 2021 are mounted with the latest movement with silicon escape wheel for longer power reserve and beauty, incorporating design inspired by the vast universe.

ORIENT Sports Diver Design New Models

ORIENT is launching four new vintage-inspired diver design watch models with ORIENT’s signature colour gradation dials. The new models are ideal for sports and outdoor activities and their fresh colours and fashionable designs provide a striking accent when worn around town, adding to their appeal.

ORIENT Sports Diver Design New Models 2021

Diver design models are an important part of ORIENT’s 70-plus year history, representing everything that is ORIENT since their launch in the 1960s. These latest models feature the same basic specifications as the current range, such as sapphire crystal, enhanced water resistance to 20 bar, and ORIENT’s automatic movement that provides stable high accuracy and reliability.

ORIENT Sports Diver Design New Models

However, in contrast to ORIENT’s existing traditional styles, the new models offer more casual and fashionable designs that can be worn on any occasion.

The new models stand out thanks to their distinctive bi-colour rotating bezel and ORIENT’s signature colour gradation dials. On the aluminum plate of the bezel, two different colours share borders separated at the triangular and 15-minute markers.

ORIENT Sports Diver Design New Models

There are four dial colours to choose from: grey, blue-green, blue, and a limited-edition burgundy, serving as striking accents to the bi-color bezel. The luminescent material with a sepia-toned vintage effect on the hands and dot indices provides the well-worn look of a watch that has been used and loved for many years. These details, together with colour gradation dials create an eye-catching vintage look.

ORIENT Retro Future Guitar Limited Edition, Reference RA-AR0303G

As a follow-up to its popular Retro Future Camera model, ORIENT is introducing the limited edition Retro Future Guitar model to its Revival Collection.

Limited to just 400 pieces, the new ORIENT Retro Future Guitar watch incorporates details from the electric guitar and has been refined through close collaboration with Dyna musical instruments. This new model exhibits the meticulous craftsmanship found in Nagano, Japan, to the world.

ORIENT Retro Future Guitar Limited Edition, Reference RA-AR0303G

ORIENT is well known for creating timepieces that have never been seen before, with a combination of mechanical watch functionality and striking original designs. Examples include the King Diver reproduction model and the nostalgic mechanical Retro Future Camera model incorporating details inspired by 1950s rangefinder cameras. Both models were released as part of the Revival Collection to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary in 2020.

This year ORIENT continues its nostalgic journey with this latest Retro Future Guitar model, a revival of its earlier model released in 2013. This unique project was overseen by Dyna musical instruments, a manufacturer of world-famous brand and original guitars. Its guitar factory in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture is one of the largest of its kind in Japan. The watch shape, materials, and colour schemes of the new Retro Future Guitar are refined based on advice from expert guitar makers.

ORIENT Retro Future Guitar Limited Edition, Reference RA-AR0303G

The watch has been created with close attention to detail including the selection of the traditional electric guitar body colour for the dial, the pick guard motif, the pick-shaped Mother of Pearl (MOP) index, the crown designed to look like a guitar’s control knob, and the Luminous Light with sepia-toned vintage effect on the hands. The names of famous international music festivals indicated around the outer rim of the dial are another playful element.

The dial is finished in a three-tone sunburst pattern, one of the most famous finishing styles for electric guitars, and the fine details are recreated right down to the embossed wood grain. The window at 9 o’clock, one of ORIENT’s signature design features, shows part of the mechanical movement, and evokes a mechanical bridge supporting guitar strings.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition, Reference: RE-AU0501B

ORIENT STAR, celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2021, is launching the Diver 1964 model from its ORIENT STAR Sports Collection with a limited edition of just 500 pieces worldwide.

The Diver 1964 model reflects this proud history, reproducing the original design of the Olympia Calendar Diver model, released in 1964, with an upgrade to contemporary diver’s watch specifications. This exceptional model combines a vintage design with ORIENT STAR’s latest high-performance in-house movement.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

The Diver 1964 is based on the Olympia Calendar Diver launched in 1964 after several years of development work for divers’ models that started from the early 1960s. It joins the ORIENT STAR Sports Collection, established in 2019.

The Diver 1964 reproduces the same features of the original model: a rotating bezel made of solid stainless steel, three-dimensionally cut indices, an arrow-shaped hand, and a case shape with sharp lugs, while offering significantly improved water resistance compared to the original model’s 40 meters.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

This new model’s water resistance has been upgraded to 200 meters – compliant with ISO standards for air diving watches. Refined qualities such as a screw down crown and screw case back, a dual curved sapphire crystal with a non-reflective coating, are also required to meet the standard of authentic divers’ watches.

The mechanical movement has also been upgraded. In contrast to the hand-wound movement in the original 1964 model, this new model has a contemporary automatic movement for increased usability. This in-house caliber F6N47 provides stable high accuracy and 50-hour power reserve. Another new feature is the indicator which shows the power reserve’s remaining running time. Most ORIENT STAR models come with a power reserve indicator as standard, however it’s rare to find this feature on diver’s watches.

ORIENT STAR Diver 1964 Limited Edition

The comparatively compact 40.2 mm diameter case, the pure steel colored rotating bezel, and the black dial create an understated look, making it ideal for everyday use. The metal bracelet uses the same high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) as the case, providing a substantial presence and a comfortable fit. The trifold clasp comes with push button, security latch and divers’ extension, making the watch practical to use for sports activities and urban life.

The Diver 1964 model is available in a worldwide limited edition of 500 pieces and each watch has a serial number engraved on the case back.

ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase with Nebula-Inspired Mother of Pearl Dial

Japanese watch brand ORIENT STAR presents two new Mechanical Moon Phase watch models from its Contemporary Collection featuring mother of pearl dials.

Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2021, the new models join the popular ORIENT STAR flagship, Mechanical Moon Phase, combining innovative designs with high-performance in-house mechanical movements.

The Mechanical Moon Phase, which first launched in 2017, features ORIENT STAR’s distinctive design elements, including a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, the semi-skeleton window at 9 o’clock that shows the inner workings of the mechanical movement, and the moon phase display at 6 o’clock with a date hand.

In 2020, an unconventional new model was released from the Contemporary Collection. The unique design was inspired by the concept of viewing the Earth from behind the Moon. The moon phase display at 6 o’clock represents the Moon and the semi-skeleton window at 9 o’clock as the Earth.

The latest models feature mother of pearl dials, drawing on the natural patterns of pearl oyster shells with their iridescent colors and depth to bring out a three-dimensional aesthetic.

The beautifully colored dials, a distinctive feature of ORIENT STAR watches, give a unique luster, further reinforcing the overall concept of “the universe”. The designs of the ORIENT STAR 70th anniversary models take particular inspiration from the image of a nebula.

The limited-edition model of 700 pieces worldwide has a serial number and special 70th anniversary design on the case back.

The green hues of the mother of pearl dial, lighter in the middle and darker at the top and bottom, contrast with the dark green power reserve indicator, semi-skeleton window, and moon phase display that provide an incredible sense of depth, inviting the wearer to explore the vastness of outer space.

The regular model features a luxurious white mother of pearl dial with a matching white power reserve indicator, semi-skeleton window, and moon phase display accented with striking blue hands, reminiscent of heavenly celestial patterns.

These two designs are encased in sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coatings on both sides, which provides a clear view of the entire watch dial. Both models have ceramic accents on the side of the crown as a stylish design feature.

The two models are powered by in-house automatic mechanical caliber F7M63 with 50-hour power reserve known for its stable precision and reliability.

This complex mechanical engine can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. The case has water resistance to 10 bar and, together with the bracelet, uses high-quality SUS316L stainless steel with superior corrosion resistance. The modern case with its tasteful design details includes “Sallaz” polishing, creating a smooth mirrored surface which reflects without distortion.

ORIENT M-FORCE, New Series (rugged outdoor watches with compass bezel)

ORIENT announces the second release of three models from the latest generation of M-FORCE watches.

The distinctive style and tough functionality of M-FORCE adventure watches have now evolved into a third generation after the series’ revival last year, inheriting the spirit of both the first generation (1997–2002) and the second generation (2011–2015).

The current and third M-FORCE generation was launched in 2020 to commemorate ORIENT’s 70th anniversary with a diver’s model. The watches in this second release are designed for the great outdoors with unique protection shield and a simple compass bezel, a handy feature to have when exploring.

This second release from the latest M-FORCE generation is designed for adventuring outdoors. Sturdiness and toughness are integrated into every design detail, creating a completely different feel compared to the preceding diver’s model.

ORIENT M-FORCE, New Series (rugged outdoor watches with compass bezel)

The watches also have a distinctive bidirectional compass bezel and a large protection shield that guards the rotating bezel and the huge crown from rocks and other hazards, creating a tough, rugged image. The letters indicating the north, south, east, and west directions are displayed in the same new font used for the numbers on the diver’s watch released last year.

The unique dial is protected by sapphire crystal glass for superior scratch resistance. The distinctively shaped indices are inspired by off-road tyre treads, blocks and stencils. The tips of the hands and the dented indices feature high intensity Luminous Light that charges with light for high visibility at night. The orange or black second hand provides an eye-catching contrast with the dial color.

Just like the M-FORCE diver’s model, the in-house automatic caliber F6727 features various devices against shocks: a movement holder to reduce horizontal shifting and secure stability when the watch is subjected to external shocks, a boost up spring to protect from vertical shifting, and a collet to reduce shock-induced displacement of the hair spring attached to the balance wheel.

ORIENT M-FORCE, New Series (rugged outdoor watches with compass bezel)

The second M-FORCE release features three models. The black and orange dial variations have a case, bezel, and protection shield made of stainless steel, with the metal bracelet made of SUS316L stainless steel. Integrating seamlessly with the lugs and creating a perfect fit with the case, the metal bracelet is a new design exclusive to M-FORCE.

The model with the green dial and nylon strap features a bezel and protection shield made of stainless steel with a black metal finish. All models come in an all-black original presentation box, reflecting the individuality and toughness of M-FORCE watches.

ORIENT STAR 70th Anniversary Skeleton Models (RE-AZ0001S and RE-AZ0002S)

ORIENT STAR has launched a new generation of its most emblematic model, the Skeleton, from its iconic Classic Collection. Driven by a new hand-wound movement with 70 hours of power reserve, this innovative new model combines classical design elements with the latest technologies to create a bold commemoration of ORIENT STAR’s 70 years of watchmaking.

Semi Skeleton models show part of the watch’s movement through its open-work dial, while the Skeleton model shows detailed workings of the whole watch.

Achieved by leaving just the base plate structure, bridges and components of the movement, its exceptional design is distinctive of mechanical watches, popular among watch enthusiasts all over the world. The skeleton movement first launched in 1991, and now in its 30th year, consists of more than a hundred precision parts, hand assembled by dedicated and skilled watchmakers in Akita, the home of ORIENT STAR.

ORIENT STAR 70th Anniversary Skeleton Models (RE-AZ0001S and RE-AZ0002S)

The latest in-house 46-F8 series movements (F8B62 and F8B63), feature longer power reserves of 70 hours, surpassing the 50 hours of the current models, making them more practical than ever before. When the main spring is fully wound, the watch can be removed on Friday night and still have more than enough power to keep running until Monday morning.

The longer running time is achieved thanks to the new silicon escape wheel which is lighter and processed with higher accuracy, improving the energy transfer efficiency of the escapement. The new silicon escape wheel with spring mechanism is developed in-house and created utilising the MEMS technology also used in the manufacturing process of Epson’s high-precision print heads.

The escape wheel visible through the watch’s skeleton structure uses Epson’s semiconductor technology to control the film thickness at the nanometer level to adjust its light reflection, resulting in an eye-catching blue. The vivid blue and a unique spiral shape evoke the Milky Way Galaxy, symbolising the universe-inspired design theme of ORIENT STAR’s 70th anniversary.

ORIENT STAR 70th Anniversary Skeleton Models (RE-AZ0001S and RE-AZ0002S)

The intricate and sophisticated detail of the Skeleton movement, visible through the open-work dial, does not compromise the watch’s features and functionality. The new 46-F8 series movements have longer running time as well as a high accuracy of +15 to –5 seconds per day even with the ultimate skeletonisation. The movement part at the nine o’clock position is designed in the shape of a comet with two tails, again expressing ORIENT STAR’s theme of the universe.

There are also contrasting cut patterns on the front and back of the movement: a spiral pattern on the dial and a wave pattern on the case back, and delicately chamfered components add elegant sparkle.

The incredibly detailed finishing represents the pinnacle of ORIENT STAR master craftsmanship and the anti-reflective coating on both sides of the dual-curved sapphire crystal allows the wearer to view every intricate detail of this high-quality movement.

Made of SUS316L stainless steel, this classic skeleton watch comes with a hand-stitched genuine crocodile leather strap. The model is available in two colour combinations: a champagne dial with gold colour movement and a white dial with a silver colour movement.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

Continuing its Revival Collection into 2021, Japanese watch brand ORIENT will faithfully reproduce its iconic 1960s World Diver models, complete with their impressive multi-coloured world map motif.

Four rare models will be available, each with unique retro designs and modern specifications and features. The Revival Collection, which saw the renewal of the 1960s King Diver model in 2020, features models that have symbolised the essence of the brand for over 70 years of watchmaking history. The original designs are faithfully reproduced and enhanced with new specifications.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

Calendar Auto Orient Swimmer World Trip, the predecessor of the World Diver, was launched in 1964—the year that Japan lifted restrictions on overseas travel for the Japanese public. World Diver was launched in 1969 as its successor and featured a unique dial with a multi-coloured map of the world and simplified 24-hour time display. The watch came to symbolise the aspirations of Japanese people who dreamed of travelling overseas.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

The new Revival Collection World Map will include the faithful reproduction of the original world map dial from 1969 in a limited-edition of just 1,200 pieces worldwide. There will also be three models featuring ivory, green, and blue coloured dials ideal for everyday use.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

While the ivory dial provides a nostalgic charm, the green and blue gradation dials reflect the earth as a celestial body in the universe. The dial has been specially processed to appear spherical due to the lens effect.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

It depicts a mystical radiant earth that plays tribute to the depth and beauty of nature, sea and forest. Just like the original 1969 model, each new model displays time, date, and day of the week. They also have an inner bezel that can be rotated using the crown at the four o’clock position on the case, allowing a simplified 24-hour time display.

ORIENT Revival Collection World Map

The case has been updated to achieve water resistance to 20 bar, and the bracelet is composed of solid metal links for suppleness and comfortable fit. The automatic in-house caliber F6922 provides stable high accuracy, making these models perfect for any occasion.

ORIENT M-FORCE RAIKOU Limited Edition, Exclusively for the European Market

Japanese watch brand ORIENT presents a new limited-edition M-FORCE RAIKOU timepiece, a much-loved member of the best-selling ORIENT Sports Collection, this time available exclusively for the European Market.

In keeping with the third-generation models launched in 2020, the M-FORCE RAIKOU retains many of the much-loved features of the previous M-FORCE collections. Taking its design cues from the Japanese word for RAIKOU, which means lightning, the limited-edition M-FORCE is a true force of nature.

The bold numbering on the bezel and the vibrant, yellow numbers are a well-executed contrast to the classic black face and bezel, perfectly depicting a lightning bolt striking a night sky. The tough, functional, and distinctive M-FORCE adventure watch has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, from its first-generation series (1997–2002) to the second-generation series (2011–2015).

ORIENT M-FORCE RAIKOU Limited Edition, Exclusively for the European Market

The “M” of M-FORCE stands for 3 things: – Mechanical – a watch that keeps time without batteries or solar power. – Massive – a durable watch equipped with shock-resistant exterior and internal structures. – Maverick – for its original design that is both refined and daringly different.

The M-FORCE models are ISO-standard air divers’ 200-m watches that pursue the functionality expected of a true adventure watch, featuring the modified in-house caliber F6727. They also include a large screw-down crown at the 3 o’clock position and unidirectional rotating bezel. New for these models is a striking case protection shield with a powerful round form, protecting the screw-down crown and the bezel from external pressure or shock.

The tough unidirectional rotating bezel is engraved with new numeric fonts re-designed to match the new M-FORCE logo. The dial, seen through sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating, has embossed indices for a three-dimensional look, coated with strong Luminous Light to ensure excellent visibility, an essential feature of any diver’s watch. Also new for this model is the black IP metal bracelet. Its solid and sturdy end links tightly connect to the powerful shaped lugs to integrate seamlessly with the case. The links are arranged at shorter pitch for additional comfort.

There are just 1,000 pieces available of this limited-edition model with each watch numbered, and for the first time ever, the watch is available exclusively for the European market. The watch comes in an all-black original presentation box, reflecting the individuality of the tough and refined M-FORCE.

ORIENT STAR Semi Skeleton Ladies

The unique semi skeleton design showing the watch mechanism on the dial, is framed by a motif evoking the crescent moon gently illuminating the night sky. ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase New Models

ORIENT STAR has added four new models to its popular Mechanical Moon Phase Classic Collection with the introduction of the “New Look Original” and “Next Generation” models. The new pieces update the Mechanical Moon Phase, first released in 2017 and now one of the brand’s most iconic designs.

The “New Look Original” model is a refined version of ORIENT STAR’s most symbolic flagship, while the “Next Generation” brings sophisticated design elements with a new flowing water motif on the dial and diamond-shaped hands. Both models feature a new in-house movement with a 50-hour power reserve based on caliber 46-F7, an evolution of the caliber 46 series launched in 1971. The result is a practical, yet elegant everyday timepiece further enhancing the appeal of mechanical watches.

ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase New Models

The four new Mechanical Moon Phase pieces feature a semi skeleton aperture at 9 o’clock, power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, and a moon phase with date display at 6 o’clock. The unique design and high-quality mechanical movement have made the Mechanical Moon Phase one of ORIENT STAR’s most-loved models worldwide.

ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase New Models

The “New Classic” with a moon phase display, power reserve indicator, and reliable high accuracy of +15 seconds to −5 seconds per day, now has 50 hours of power reserve with the in-house caliber F7M62, part of the 46-F7 series The detailed finishing and beautifully embellished movement can be seen and admired through the sapphire crystal case back. The “New Look Original” maintains the symbolic design of the original Mechanical Moon Phase while adding further refinements and incorporating an upgraded range of basic functions making it perfect for everyday use.

The dial features Roman numeral indices and the traditional OS logo stamped pattern. The hour and minute hands are wider, and the hour hand has been shortened ensuring it does not overlap the index markings. The width balance of both hands has been refined in units of 0.01 mm to increase visibility and legibility.

ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase New Models

The “Next Generation” is the first Mechanical Moon Phase to feature a unique flowing water motif on the dial. The soft curves of the stamped design that expand towards the edge of the dial and its Roman numeral indices are suggestive of a flowing river in shades of navy and grey.

The colour gradation gives the dial an attractive contrast and sense of depth. The hour and minute hands are dauphine shaped with brushed and mirror finishing, and the redesigned tips of the hands are diamond-shaped accented with colour for clarity. The moon phase display depicts the moon gently illuminating a flowing river while the diamond-shaped hands represent the glittering stars.

ORIENT STAR Mechanical Moon Phase New Models

There are two “New Look Original” models, both with a white traditional dial, and two “Next Generation” models with a navy and grey dial and flowing water motif. All models feature sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides of the glass (SAR coating) to reduce glare and ensure visibility.

The case back is also sapphire crystal while the case and metal bracelet are made of high-quality corrosion-resistant stainless steel (SUS316L). The strap incorporates cordovan leather often found in high-quality watches and is designed to be worn and loved for many years to come.

ORIENT/ ORIENT STAR

Established in Japan in 1950, ORIENT is appreciated throughout the world for its reliable and durable timepieces, featuring its own high-quality, in-house designed and manufactured movements.

ORIENT comes from the Latin word ‘Oriri’, meaning to rise.

Emerging in the Post-War era, ORIENT developed a global reputation for its meticulous approach to watchmaking, from traditional mechanical timepieces and quartz movements to creative complications and case designs. A turning point for ORIENT occurred in the early 1970s when its caliber 46 was introduced. This high-durability movement, praised for its accuracy and reliability, established the brand as a leading light in traditional watchmaking in a time of industrialised production.

Today, ORIENT and ORIENT STAR are chosen by customers in more than 70 countries, including the Middle East, South America, the United States, Asia and Europe.

It has maintained its position at the forefront of mechanical watch production in Japan, focusing on in-house manufactured movements and timeless quality watches for both men and women.

ORIENT and ORIENT STAR Collections

Both ORIENT and ORIENT STAR reflect decades of watchmaking experience, fused with elegant and timeless design appeal.

ORIENT includes the brand’s core ranges categorised as ORIENT Classic, ORIENT Contemporary, ORIENT Sports, and the new ORIENT Revival, while ORIENT STAR showcases luxury watchmaking innovations and in-house calibers inspired by the brand’s heritage.

Drawing on timeless design codes to suit both men and women, ORIENT offers a broad range of watches infused with traditional and non-traditional details and complications.  One of the highlights for 2020 is the new Revival collection which includes 70th anniversary models such as the King Diver and Retro Future Camera. Other core collections are the elegant Classic, the Sun and Moon, and the Contemporary Small Seconds with Semi-Skeleton.

ORIENT also offers the ORIENT Sports range, including both Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS)-compliant divers’ watches and diver-inspired watches. For women, the ORIENT Contemporary Ladies Semi-Skeleton and ORIENT Classic Ladies Date are popular choices among the brand’s global customer base.

Initially launched in 1951, ORIENT STAR is shorthand for innovation and watchmaking prowess. Traditional design and classic case shapes surround the brand’s own in-house caliber 46-F6 series and 46-F7 movements, designed to ensure a lifetime of reliable and accurate timekeeping.

Having slipped into history, the ORIENT STAR name was formally resurrected in 1997 with a selection of mechanical timepieces inspired by ORIENT heritage. This is perhaps best witnessed in the ORIENT STAR Classic Heritage Gothic, with its distinctive wide font and updated case shape. In 2019, ORIENT STAR launched its new Sports collection, a range of timepieces that deliver form and function in attractive designs suitable for even the most active of lifestyles.

The Outdoor range combines style with functionality in a watch that is equally at home in the office as it is in the great outdoors. The new Diver range is a fully-fledged waterproof diver’s watch for 200m air diving (ISO compliant). Finally, the Semi-Skeleton range combines intricate design details with a sporty accent.

Rather than being retrospective, the ORIENT STAR collection of timepieces seeks to capture the best of classic design for more contemporary sensibilities. This careful blend of heritage and modernity allows ORIENT STAR to offer something new and exciting to watch collectors.

ORIENT STAR showcases the brand’s expertise in semi-skeletonised and skeletonised watches, while also offering a range of slimline models and Date, Small Seconds and Mechanical Moon Phase complications. At every turn, it is the attention to detail and beautifully finished movements that give ORIENT STAR timepieces their elegance and flair.

Together, ORIENT STAR Classic, ORIENT STAR Contemporary and ORIENT STAR Sports time pieces are designed to suit every occasion.

Adding to the watch’s simplicity is the subtle design of the power reserve indicator, which further enhances the watch’s simplicity and readability.

Finally, the Basic Date uses SUS316 stainless steel for the strap, scratch-resistant sapphire for the crystal, and is powered by a high-performance, in-house movement with automatic winding mechanism.

ORIENT STAR Semi Skeleton New Models (With Marine Blue or Light Silver Dial)

Japanese watch company ORIENT announces two new additions to its ORIENT STAR Sports Semi Skeleton collection. Available from March 2020 in marine blue or light silver, the new colour ways highlight the semi-skeleton structure, displaying part of the finely-finished movement and distinctive design accents.

The Semi Skeleton, added to the ORIENT STAR Sports collection in 2019, adopts a screw-down crown and is water resistant to 20 bars. It also has a high-intensity “luminous light” indices and hands making the dial easy to see (except RE-AT01017S), a robust stainless steel case with sharp edges and a rotating bezel surrounding the dial. The popular design has the functionality for outdoor use whilst retaining a distinctive sporty look and feel, making it ideal for every aspect of modern life.
