NIRVEL Replique Aviateur II

At the inhorgenta fair 2019, NIVREL presented the first of two follow-up models for the Aviateur model from 2011: the Replique Aviateur II. Like the predecessor model, the new watch plays on the theme of the classic aviation watch and sets its own accents in design.

Of course, the Replique Aviateur II offers the classic features of an aviator watch: a sturdy stainless steel case with a 40 mm diameter, and a high-contrast dial on which the numerals, the flying triangle and the hands are coated with Superluminova to ensure a good reading at night.

The hands are outlined in red and offer a great contrast to the dark Baumuster A type dial. On the inside, the new timepiece features a robust automatic movement caliber ETA 2824-2.

NIVREL

NIVREL is a watch brand based in Saarbrucken,Germany.

Popularly known as German watch with Swiss heart, NIVREL was founded as a brand name by the Marvin Company located in the Suisse Jura region in 1936. In its early days, the company focused on producing mechanical watches for the military. Nivrel currently produces manual winding watches, automatic watches, chronographs, ladies watches, alarm watches, repeaters, quartz watches, erotic watches and diving watches.

During the 1970’s Nivrel started the fabrication of manual wind watches, automatic watches, chronographs, as well as new complications in calendar indications. In 1993, the company was purchased by Gitta and Gerd Hofer. The Hofer’s moved the company to Saarbrücken Germany, but continued to use movements from the Swiss Jura region. In 1994 the first Nivrel watches from the new production become available on the market. These are mechanical watches with very fine movements in stainless steel, gold, and combination cases. In 1995 they presented the first perpetual calendar.

In 1998, a quartz Design Collection is added to the line. This collection features unique steel, 18 kt. yellow gold and platinum cases. In 2003 Nivrel completed 10 Years in Germany. To celebrate this occasion, Nivrel released a successful sterling silver Jubilee model. In 2004 Nivrel introduced Tonneau shaped automatic watch with a full calendar.

In 2007 Nivrel introduced a world class innovation at Baselworld: The NIVREL Diver’s Tourbillion.

Back in 1891, Friedrich Jacob Kraemer founded his jewellery and watch store in Germany‘s Saarbrücken. He and his subsequent generations established, Juwelier Kraemer as the finest jewellery store in Saarbrücken.

In 1956 Gerd Hofer joined the Kraemer enterprise – being the fourth generation in the business. In 1965 Gerd Hofer became an employee for the Swiss watch brand Milus where he represented the company as the agent for Germany, Austria and the Netherlands since 1978. During this period of time, he also controlled the agencies for the Swiss watch companies Kelek, Revue-Thommen and Hebdomas.

After making a name for himself in the watch business Gerd and his wife Gitta acquired the Swiss watch brand NIVREL in 1993 and integrated the production into the business processes of the Kraemer business in Saarbrücken. During 2007/2008, daughter Anja Hofer and her partner Guido Grohmann entered the NIVREL business on executive level.

The design of the NIVREL timepieces is conceived by the ideas of its team members. Many years of experience with the production of watches for the own brands and other watch brands have gained their love for the details of NIVREL watches. The dials and cases are fabricated exclusively by excellent manufacturers in Germany. All mechanical movements used by NIVREL are or were produced in Switzerland. Most of the movements receive an additional refining by world class producers. Some of them even receive special engravings, blued screws, polished steel screws, and many other details.

The range of NIVREL´s horological complications includes the Full Calendar with Moon Phase, the 5-Minute-Repeater, the Tourbillons, and the perpetual calendar with different modifications (e.g. a second time zone, 52 week calendar or large date displays). The automatic alarm watch and the various chronographs with additional functions leave nothing to be desired. The movements are engraved with Nivrel logo and therefore document the high demand for quality. The assembly of NIVREL watches is carried at company’s production site in Germany which provides a total control of the process.

NIVREL Jubilé III

In 2016, NIVREL celebrates the 80th anniversary of the brand. As known from previous anniversaries, NIVREL presents a new entry-level model for supporters of the brand that comes at a very attractive price point. The NIVREL Jubilé III pays tribute to an old NIVREL timepiece from the past and will be NIVREL’s most well-priced entrance level to the mechanical world at 599,- Euro.

Historically, NIVREL originated from the brand Marvin. Marvin was founded in 1850 by Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim in St. Imier, part of the Swiss Jura region. In 1936, Marvin’s Guillaume Didisheim introduced NIVREL as an additional brand. NIVREL featured men’s watches with chronographs and calendars, as well as small ladies watches.

In 1993, Gerd Hofer – 4th generation of the jewelry family ‘Kraemer/Hofer’ from Saarbrücken/Germany – acquired the brand and integrated it into the tradition of the Kraemer and Hofer family business.

The brand’s 80th anniversary in 2016 is celebrated with a quite special timepiece. The new NIVREL Jubilé III is a remake and modernized version of the long gone reference N 120.001.

Best components and a solid Swiss movement (ETA 2824-2) were chosen to build a watch with an excellent price performance ratio.

NIVREL New Replique Manuelle (Ref. N 322.001)

German luxury watch brand NIVREL welcomes a new model to its popular Edition Replique range. The Replique Manual complements the Edition Replique collection by a classic, yet contemporary sporty model with a hand-wound movement.

When you think of mechanical wrist watches from the1950s, you certainly think of classic hand-wound timepieces. Watch enthusiasts appreciate such watches not just because of the classic design. Wearing a hand-wound watch always means to have a close relationship with the piece of jewellery on your wrist, because it is essential to wind it up again after a few days.

The new NIVREL Replique Manuelle(Ref. N 322.001) is a declaration of love to the classic, hand-wound timepiece of the 1950’s. Like all watches of the Edition Replique the new watch is developed on the basis of an older NIVREL model as the Edition Replique embraces with the history of NIVREL and resurrects the design elements of historical NIVREL models in new watches.

The clear dial design represents the design of the old NIVREL watches, which were at that time still produced in Switzerland. Applied Arabic numerals alternating with applied indexes, both filled with luminous material, allow a good visibility. The luminous hands in losange-style emphasize the fact even more. A difference from the original models is most certainly the case size.

With 44 mm diameter, 13 mm height and a domed sapphire crystal, the Replique Manuellel can proudly claim to be the largest NIVREL wristwatch that has ever been introduced to the market. Thus, the classic manual winding timepiece is spiced with a very masculine character and a sporty touch.

In case of the movement the new Replique Manuellestays true to history. The crystal case back of the case allows a wonderful view of the ETA Unitas 6497-1 elaboré movement carrying out its work. As usual for NIVREL, the movement comes in a refurbished version featuring flame-blued screws and a Côtes Circulaires finishing.

The new NIVREL Replique Manuelle is available at a public price of 750,- Euro.

NIVREL Coeur de la Sarre (Anniversary Model)

Renowned Swiss/German watch brand NIVREL has announced the launch of special anniversary model in 2013 on the 20th anniversary of NIVREL being a German brand from the Saarland region. The special edition anniversary model will bear the name Coeur de la Sarre (French for: the heart of the Saar).

Gerd Hofer, fourth generation of the jewellery entrepreneur family Kraemer/Hofer from Saar-brucken/Germany acquired the Swiss watch brand NIVREL in 1993, together with his wife Gitta. They seamlessly integrated the watch production into the entrepreneurial structures of the Kraemer/Hofer family.

Today, their children continue to lead the family tradition: goldsmith Sven Hofer is the managing director of the Kraemer jewellery store in Saarbrucken, his sister Anja Hofer is CEO of NIVREL and manages the watch company together with her partner Guido Grohmann. In 2013, NIVREL will celebrate the 20th anniversary of NIVREL being a German brand from the Saarland region and the anniversary watch model will bear the name Coeur de la Sarre (French for: the heart of the Saar).

Historically, NIVREL originated from the brand Marvin. Marvin was founded in 1850 by Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim in St. Imier, part of the Swiss Jura region. In 1936, the company introduced a new brand, NIVREL. NIVREL featured men’s watches with chronographs and calendars, as well as small ladies watches. Movements were either provided by existing suppliers, or produced in-house. In the 1970’s, with the so-called “quartz crisis,” came big changes to the Swiss watch industry. Many big brand companies changed hands or died out completely. Unfortunately, Marvin and NIVREL also vanished from the market; lying dormant for nearly 20 years until Gerd and Gitta Hofer from Saarbrucken revived NIVREL in 1993.

NIVREL has found excited customers for individual watches from Saarbrucken all over the world. That’s why the company is able to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the watch production in Germany today. A wonderful occasion to dedicate a watch model to the Saar region and its people: The new Coeur de la Sarre!

The special edition model for the 20th anniversary of being in the German Saarland region bears the name: Coeur de la Sarre (heart of the Saar). This slogan has been an integral part of the NIVREL brand logo for many years. It expresses our close relation to our personal roots in the Saar region. The Coeur de la Sarre is the new model within the Replique edition. It comes in four different, limited dial executions.

The executions are named after four cities in the Saar region, two on the German ’Saarland‘ side, two on the French ‘Lorraine’ side. The four cities all bear the Saar River in their names: Sarrebruck (Saarbrucken), Sarrelouis (Saarlouis), Sarreguemines (Saargemünd) and Sarrebourg (Saarburg). On the watch dials, the names are spelled in French as reminiscence to brand’s closeness to the French neighbors and to their joint, laid-back lifestyle, the ‘Savoir Vivre’ as we call it. Even more, 2013 is not only an anniversary year for NIVREL. It also marks the 50th anniversary of the Franco-German Friendship Treaty (Élysée-Treaty) on 22nd January 1963 that has had such a positive effect on the Franco-German region.

As all watches within NIVREL’s Replique Edition, the Coeur de la Sarre engages with the history of the brand. Since 1994, watches in the Replique edition have always picked up the design of an older NIVREL model from the 1940ies and 1950ies. While the first models have always been chronographs, the new model Coeur de la Sarre is the first one to be reminiscence to a classical three-handed watch. The Coeur de la Sarre picks up a design that could be found on most NIVREL models from the older, Swiss era of the brand. A round case with a domed crystal (Plexiglas on older models) and a dial which shows the time by Arabic numbers in the positions 2, 4, 6, 10 and 12 o‘clock. The positions in between are marked with applied indexes.

NIVREL New Deep Ocean GMT (Reference: N 146.001)

After the huge success of the 2011 Deep Ocean models, German watch brand NIVREL unveils the new Deep Ocean GMT model that shows a distinctive dial design, brings along all the technical features known from its predecessors and extends the functional range of the Deep Ocean to a model which will display a second and third time zone. “One for all time” – is the motto of the campaign around the new NIVREL Deep Ocean GMT. And that’s because the new watch from NIVREL’s Deep Ocean series extends the range of the popular diving watch to a model with a second and third time zone indication.

The distinctive design of the Deep Ocean is maintained by using the same dark face, large Arabic numerals, silvercoloured Appliqués, and the luminescent sword hands as before. However, a red hand with an arrow- shaped tip as well as a 24-hour.

In NIVREL’s new (reference N 146.001: the Deep Ocean GMT) model, the functional addition is realized by using a movement of calibre ETA 2836-2, in a modified version for GMT indication. A possible second time zone is set using the crown and it is indicated by a hand with a red arrow pointer. With a power reserve of 40 hours, the watch additionally provides the indication of hours, minutes, sweep second with stop-seconds function, and date with rapid setting.

As for the characteristics of the case, NIVREL picks up the same pattern known from the first Deep Ocean models. The corpus is made of stainless steel 316L and provides a water resistance up to 50 bar, which is supported by the use of a screwed crown with crown protection.

The bezel is adjustable counter-clockwise with a 120 click-adjustment. It also has a black aluminium inlay with silver printed 24-hour indication for setting a possible third time zone. The diameter of the watch is 43 mm with a height of 13 mm. The sapphire crystal of the case is fitted out with a magnifying glass for the date.

The watch comes with a steel strap featuring a deployment buckle with flip-lock system and a fold-out extension for carrying the watch on the diving suit. In addition, NIVREL delivers the watch with an extra silicone strap with case integration and NIVREL signature buckle. In order to change the strap, a spring bar tool is included in the package as well.

NIVREL Horaire Automatique and Horaire Automatique Le Jubilé

This year, NIVREL celebrates the 75th anniversary of the brand. An exclusive special edition of 75 single numbered and engraved pieces will be released for the 75 anniversary of NIVREL and for the 120 anniversary of the Kraemer jewelry store – the origin of today’s NIVREL company.

Historically, NIVREL originated from the brand Marvin. Marvin was founded in 1850 by Marc and Emmanuel Didisheim in St. Imier, part of the Swiss Jura region. Until well into the first part of the 20th century, Marvin mostly produced pocket watches for men and diamond watches for women. The diamond pieces were often integrated into different pieces of jewelry, such as necklaces or brooches. In 1936, NIVREL was introduced by MARVIN as an additional brand. NIVREL featured men’s watches with chronographs and calendars, as well as small ladies watches. Movements were either provided by existing suppliers, or produced in-house.

In 1993, Gerd Hofer – 4th generation of the jewelry family ‘Kraemer/Hofer’ from Saarbrücken / Germany – acquired the brand and integrated it into the tradition of the Kraemer and Hofer family business.

Of course, the brand’s 75th anniversary in 2011 is celebrated with a new watch model. The new ‘Horaire Automatique’ is part of the ‘Edition Horaire’ and complements the collection as the new model at entry-level. Perfect components from German manufacturers and a solid Swiss movement (ETA 2824-2) were chosen to build a watch with an excellent price / performance ratio. For just 499,- Euro, the new ‘Horaire Automatique’ shows how much quality a mechanical watch at entry-level can provide.

Limited to 75 pieces: The NIVREL/Kraemer edition:
An exclusive limited edition of 75 unique, numbered and engraved pieces will be available additionally. Not only NIVREL celebrates a great birthday this year. Also the Kraemer jewelry store – the cradle of today’s NIVREL owners – celebrates its 120th anniversary in 2011.

Cherishing both events at the same time, NIVREL presents a special edition of the ‘Horaire Automatique’ limited to 75 pieces: the ‘Horaire Automatique Le Jubilé’. This watch symbolizes not only the watchmaker tradition of NIVREL, but also the goldsmith tradition of the Kraemer/Hofer family. The backside of the watch case carries a special case engraving, a rose gold-plated rotor with a unique number, and a rose gold sweep seconds hand.

NIVREL Deep Ocean

In 2010, the successful ’Sea’ era of NIVREL came to an end. The production of the automatic diving watch models Deep Sea, Red Sea and South Sea was discontinued in order to make way for a new, dignified successor. The new NIVREL Deep Ocean offers everything that a diver’s heart desires – and it kicks off a complete new generation of NIVREL diving watches.

Last year, NIVREL announced that the production of the popular Deep Sea diving watch will be discontinued. Having been around since 2004, Red Sea, Deep Sea and South Sea have been well known by watch enthusiasts in Germany and beyond. In 2011, NIVREL will start with a new series of diving watches. True to the motto ‘From the Sea to the Ocean’, NIVREL announces the new ‘Ocean’ series of diving watches starting in 2011. The first model to be revealed is called ‘Deep Ocean’: a 500m diver with a distinctive design and some outstanding extras.

To create a diving watch also means to create an accurate gauge. Acting in the interest of the consumers, the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) provides a statement of requirements for diving watches. The resulting standard guideline DIN 8306 contains 13 rules for diving watches that are aced by the NIVREL Deep Ocean. Therefore, NIVREL pays particular attention to facts such as the water-resistancy as well as the fundamental functions of a timepiece as being a piece of equipment under water.

Concerning the water-resistancy, the maximum pressure a NIVREL Deep Sea can bear is 50 bar. The necessary robustness of the case is reached by using a resistant stainless steel alloy called 316L. The bezel of the NIVREL Deep Ocean serves to measure the period of time under water. Therefore, it is equipped with a rotating mechanism, that can help to mark the start time of the dive. For safety reasons the bezel can only be rotated anti-clockwise. Should the bezel accidentally be rotated during the dive, the displayed diving time will always be shortened and not extended. Therefore the amount of compressed air in the diving tank will be sufficient in any case.

The NIVREL Deep Ocean is powered by a robust automatic movement calibre ETA 2824-2, one of the most popular automatic movements on the planet. It is known for being precise, robust and reliable. NIVREL’s watch makers precisely regulate the movement and integrate it into the product. It provides hours, minutes, a sweep second, and a date with corrector.

The stainless steel strap of the watch is secured by a flip lock deployment buckle as well as a foldout extension to wear the watch on a diving suit. Additionally, the watch is delivered with a sporty silicone strap, which integrates nicely with the watch case. In order to change the different straps a changing tool is included in the NIVREL Deep Ocean package as well.

Nivrel Special Edition La Grande Manuelle X47 Watch

The La Grande Manuelle X47 by Nivrel is realized in co-operation with yet another company from the small town of Saarbrücken / Germany. This special edition is clearly made for men who love to engage with time; for human beings who like beautiful objects and at the same time know how to manage their day. Therefore, the edition is not only a watch, but a combination of a luxury timepiece and a time management system: the timer from X47.

X47 is a young, innovative producer of calendars and organizers. Just like NIVREL, X47 is located in Germany’s federal state of Saarland. Their products are hand-made from the best Italian leather and are produced only in Germany. The special secret of X47 is their patented so-called spine rail which makes it possible to create extraordinary slim organizers.

The spine rail uses the same spring bars that are used to attach straps to wrist watches. The X47 spring bars are exclusively produced in Switzerland. Replacing the normal ring mechanisms of personal organizers, the spine rails allows the construction of extremely flat organizers. The X47 organizer is flat enough to fit into every coat pocket.

Yet another innovation of X47 is their daily calendar called ‘Time Circles‘, showing the dial of a watch on every page of the calendar. Round time circles have had and continue to have a strong influence on western culture and society. Just as a watch allows you to quickly recognize the time and remember it as well, using this time circle concept for planning your daily activities allows you to quickly get the information you need, while best allowing you to hold this information in your memory. Your daily activities are easily and clearly inserted into the time circle, giving you a realistic overview of your appointments, meetings and activities.

For 2011 the two companies based in Saarbrücken present a combination of their products. The organizer of X47 and NIVREL’s „La Grande Manuelle“ grow together into a limited edition of 250 pieces.

The X47 personal organizer coming with the watch not only includes a matching Time Circles daily calendar and an engraved NIVREL logo. The organizer cover in fine calf leather also matches the color of the watches’ Louisiana alligator leather strap. The paper format in the X47 personal organizer has the following dimensions: 98 x 145 mm, 3.86 x 5.71 inches. This optimal watch and organizer combination allows you to wear your NIVREL watch on your wrist and carry its copy in your jacket pocket – keeping your daily appointments in the highest state of organization.

As for the watch, the NIVREL ’La Grande Manuelle X47’ features a typical dial for this NIVREL series: big Arabic numerals with a so-called ‘train track minutes indication. It is printed on a dial made of massive sterling silver. The typical small second at 5 o’clock rounds up the picture of this beautiful watch face. The inner part of the timepiece is driven by a pocket watch movement calibre ETA Unitas 6498-2. The movement is fine finished to perfection: Broad Geneva stripes, wonderful fine finished wheels and bridges, blued crews as well as a blued swans neck fine adjustment.

NIVREL Special Editions – Le Chronograph Replique II

At unregular intervals, NIVREL introduces special editions to the market that mostly have a strict limitation as they are meant to be collector’s items. Latest treasure from Nivrel is the Chronographe Replique II. Both versions of this watch are a hommage to two different NIVREL chronographs from the 1950s. The original watches had been equipped with a mechanical winding chronograph movement calibre Landeron 47.

The replica models also feature a mechanical winding chronograph movement calibre Landeron 248. This movement is from the same product family that was built from 1933 until 1970. It has been beautifully refurbished by NIVREL, featuring details such as blued screws and gold-plated bridges.

At the beginning of the 1990s, NIVREL presented a replica model (Ref. N 515.001) of an old manual winding chronograph from the 1940s. It was limited to 100 pieces and sold out immediately. Today, the watch is a high regarded object for collectors.

In 2009 – some 15 years after the introduction of the first replica model – NIVREL presented a second model of this kind. The NIVREL Chronographe Replique II is available in two different versions. Both are – in a unique way – a hommage to two different NIVREL chronographs from the 1950s. The original watches had been equipped with a mechanical winding chronograph movement calibre Landeron 47.

The replica models also feature a mechanical winding chronograph movement calibre Landeron 248. This movement is from the same product family that was built from 1933 until 1970. The movement measures 13.75‘‘‘, has 17 jewels, a power reserve of 43 hours, and an oscillation of 18.000 A/h. The follow-up model of the original Landeron 47 has been beautifully refurbished by NIVREL, featuring details such as blued screws and gold-plated bridges.

Technical details: Manual winding chronograph movement calibre Landeron 248 | Steel case, sapphire crystal, screwed case back with sapphire crystal, diameter: 42 mm, height: 12.6 mm.
