MeisterSinger Perigraph Planet Earth Edition

MeisterSinger has unveiled the ‘Planet Earth’ limited edition watch, in close collaboration with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), one of the world’s leading nature conservation organizations.

With a limited edition of 500 pieces, the single-hand watch specialist wants to support the international work of WWF, which is committed to preserving the earth’s biodiversity, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and helping to reduce environmental pollution and wasteful consumption. For every watch sold, MeisterSinger and its business partners will waive an equal share of €200, which will be donated to WWF as direct support.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Planet Earth Edition

The concept of the Edition Planet Earth is complemented by a vegan watch strap made of apple fiber that is identical to real leather in terms of quality, looks, and wearing comfort. An environmentally friendly packaging rounds off the sustainability concept of this limited-edition timepiece. The basis is an FSC-certified cardboard box, which is covered with FSC-certified paper on the inside as well as on the outside. The cover cushion has a cover made of recycled velour fabric.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Planet Earth Edition

Incidentally, the strap and the packaging are also due to be introduced for all MeisterSinger’s series watches. Shortly, vegan leather-look straps will be available from the MeisterSinger online shop and the company intends to switch to sustainable cases as standard for all of its watches in the course of the year.

The brand’s popular Perigraph series watch with its 360° open date disk serves as the basis for this project. The jet-black dial encompasses the photorealistic representation of our home planet. The hour numerals from 01 to 12 are arranged in a circle, with an additional dot marking the half hours. As ever, the line index structure typical for MeisterSinger gives the wearer an easy way to read the time.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Planet Earth Edition

This Swiss made automatic watch has a 43mm diameter stainless steel case. The SW400 movement is visible through the glass caseback. The world-famous logo of MeisterSinger’s collaboration partner, the panda with the WWF lettering, adorns the glass back of the Edition Planet Earth.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Planet Earth Edition

The Edition Planet Earth is available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United Kingdom.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora Anniversary Edition with Hourly Chime

Just like the MeisterSinger Bell Hora series watch presented in spring 2021, the Anniversary Edition Bell Hora revives a practically forgotten complication, the “Sonnerie au passage”: Exactly on the hour, the watch produces a friendly chime, alerting the wearer to the passing of time without having to look at the dial.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora Anniversary Edition with Hourly Chime

Moreover, the pusher above the crown ensures that the hour does not ring if it is not desired, as the chime of the Bell Hora can be simply switched off. A black marking shows at a glance whether the watch is going to chime on the hour or remain silent.

Limited to 100 units, this model is designed in the style of an early pocket watch. The Edition Bell Hora is part of a MeisterSinger tradition of editions created in this historical style.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora Anniversary Edition with Hourly Chime

Apart from the time signal, the Bell Hora thereby continually gives its wearer the good feeling of having a high-quality and extremely reliable timepiece on their wrist. Over a period of 60 minutes, the movement’s module gathers the energy for a precise, carefully measured chime. The ingenious device strikes the sound fork located behind the dial exactly on the hour.

MeisterSinger NEO with Bordeaux Degradé Dial

MeisterSinger has released new Bordeaux degrade dial versions of NEO 36 and NEO 40 watches.

With a case design typical for the 50s, MeisterSinger NEO is equipped with a Swiss made automatic movement. Its key features are clarity, balance, and a coherent design. The brand offers 36mm and 40mm versions of this Bauhaus inspired timepiece.

MeisterSinger NEO with Bordeaux Degradé Dial

Another feature prevalent in the 1950s was the color progression from light in the center to black at the edge of the dial. The technique, which is known as degradé in French or gradient in English, looks captivatingly beautiful with its strong, radiant, raspberry-colored sunburst finish.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Mellow Yellow Limited Edition

Celebrating the 20th anniversary in 2021, the Perigraph is one of the classic models designed by the single-hand watch specialist MeisterSinger. To mark this milestone, MeisterSinger created a limited edition Perigraph watch featuring an eye-catching dial with blue and yellow colors.

MeisterSinger Perigraph Mellow Yellow Limited Edition

The central dial and the ring with numeral hour-markers are finished in a dark blue color. The date ring and the flange feature a distinct yellow shade. The large grey-colour hand with red tip indicates the time.

MeisterSinger Unomat

Winner of Red Dot Design Award 2021 for outstanding design, Unomat is a robust wristwatch based on the classic MeisterSinger N° 03 automatic model.

The 43mm stainless steel case of the Unomat has a more striking design, which is clearly recognizable by the robust sides that protect the screw-down crown from knocks and shocks.

The sturdy five-row anti-allergenic stainless steel link bracelet is integrated in the case. The extra-strong screwed steel back does the rest. It has an impressive water-resistance up to 30 bar (300 meters).

MeisterSinger Unomat

The iconic characteristic of every MeisterSinger watch is the striking needle-shaped hand with its overhang. On the Unomat it is far broader than, for instance, on the N° 03 and is luminous enough to be readable in the twilight hours as well. Together with the single hand, the hour digit appliqués glow with intensity.

MeisterSinger Unomat

The watch is equipped with the new Swiss made SW400-1 self-winding movement. The large date window underlines its instrument-like character, particularly due to its redesigned line index structure and the perfectly proportioned double-digit numerals.

MeisterSinger Unomat watch antimagnetic movement

The watch is anti-magnetic up to 24.000 A/m. The shielded movement of the Unomat doesn’t allow the magnetic radiation that increasingly surrounds us to affect its precision.

MeisterSinger Unomat watch with blue dial

The Swiss automatic movement is enclosed by layers of soft iron: A sleeve located in the case is supplemented by the soft iron dial, which is otherwise made of brass. This elaborate design makes the movement impervious to the ubiquitous radiation from cell phones, electrical appliances, magnetic fasteners, and laboratory equipment.

MeisterSinger Unomat watch with black dial

The protective layer contributes to the watch’s autonomy. In particular, the magnetization of the spiral spring can soon become a factor that considerably impacts the accuracy of the movement. The protective layer largely protects the movement from the negative effects of radiation, significantly improving the watch’s autonomy.

MeisterSinger Stratoscope

Introduced in May 2021, Stratoscope is the second MeisterSinger wristwatch with a moon phase display. Measuring 43mm diameter, its powerful, masculine case in stainless steel frames the unusually large moon phase display. The photorealistic image of the earth’s natural satellite corresponds to the astronomical precision with which the Stratoscope represents the moon’s various phases.

MeisterSinger Stratoscope moonphase watch

Launched in 2018, Lunascope is the brand’s first moonphase watch. It features a 40mm stainless steel case and houses a customized ETA 2836 self-winding movement equipped with a specially developed moon-phase module.

The moon takes 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.9 seconds to circumnavigate the earth. Most watches round this figure down to 29.5 days via the movement, which means they deviate by eight hours per year and need adjusting by one complete day every third year. However, the movement of the Stratoscope is far more accurate. Its moon phase indicator only requires a slight adjustment after 122 years.

MeisterSinger Stratoscope automatic watch with moonphase

Beneath the sapphire crystal glass, the watch features a bi-color dial. In its lower third, the jet black dial merges into a shimmering spectacle of light in varying shades of blue, reminiscent of the aurora borealis visible in the far North. And above this spectacle the luminescent moon circles the earth.

MeisterSinger Stratoscope moonphase watch

The interplay of light by the luminous hour markers and the needle-shaped hour hand provide a mystic appearance. The characteristic double-digit numerals are arranged in a circle from 01 to 12 around the dial, reinforcing the impression of harmony and balance. Despite all this attention to detail, the watch has a crisp, uncluttered appearance. It also has a date window at 6 o’ clock.

MeisterSinger Stratoscope

The MeisterSinger Stratoscope watch is equipped with an exclusive movement built around the Swiss made Sellita SW 220 Automatic calibre. Rated for a power reserve of 38 hours, this self-winding movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case-back.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora

The Bell Hora by MeisterSinger is a contemporary single-hand watch with a sounding “Sonnerie au passage” feature at every full hour.

Winner of the renowned Red Dot award, the Bell Hora watch is now reviving a practically forgotten complication – the “Sonnerie au passage”. Exactly on the hour, the watch produces a friendly chime, alerting the wearer to the passing of time without having to look at the dial.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora

However, it is not pre-counted in small increments, the hourly chime is not an alarm or a countdown. It does not interrupt the flow of time, but gives it a broad, melodious backdrop. The concept is fully in line with the MeisterSinger ideal that a watch should keep time in a highly intuitive manner as its hand passes across a fine line – or by regularly triggering a sound on its way around the dial.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora

Church tower clocks, which relate to the “Sonnerie au passage”, also count the passing of time with their ringing mechanisms. But they also compel the listener to count: “It is now eleven o’clock.” The Bell Hora only strikes once and tells its wearer that a new hour has just begun, fully “en passant”.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora

Apart from the time signal, the Bell Hora thereby continually gives its wearer the good feeling of having a high-quality and extremely reliable timepiece on their wrist. Over a period of 60 minutes, the movement’s module gathers the energy for a precise, carefully measured chime. The ingenious device strikes the sound fork located behind the dial exactly on the hour.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora automatic watch single hand with chime

When developing this complication, it was a matter of professional pride for MeisterSinger to go to great lengths to ensure a pleasant sound. Moreover, the pusher above the crown ensures that the hour does not ring if it is not desired, as the chime of the Bell Hora can be simply switched off. A black marking shows at a glance whether the watch is going to chime on the hour or remain silent.

MeisterSinger Bell Hora watch

MeisterSinger places great emphasis on its high recognition value. The needle-shaped hand, the double-digit numerals, and the fine line index structure make sure of that. And that is perfectly true of the Bell Hora as well, despite the spiral-shaped geometry of the dial, which not only appears to comment on the flow of time, but provides an intuitive overview of the entire day at the same time.

MeisterSinger Astroscope Limited Edition New Variant 2021

MeisterSinger presents a new edition of its Astroscope, a spectacular single hand timepiece that displays the weekdays in relation to the celestial bodies that have been attributed to the various days of the week since ancient times. This new model is a limited edition released in 100 pieces.

The new variant is also designed with a dark dial that represents the night sky. The numerals are depicted in a fine serif typeface and the astronomical symbols are designed in luminous orange. Together with the luminous hand, the time can also be easily read at night.

MeisterSinger Astroscope Limited Edition New Variant 2021

Above the circular date window and the MeisterSinger logo there is an intimated horizon, enhancing the impression of gazing up at the heavens. The new model comes with a super-soft calfskin watchstrap in sunshine orange corresponding with the texture on the dial.

The Astroscope is powered by a Swiss automatic movement that can be viewed through the exhibition glass back, which is affixed with six screws. The stainless steel case is a slender 40 mm in diameter and water-resistant up to 5 bar.

MeisterSinger Astroscope Limited Edition New Variant 2021

It’s the sun and the moon that divide our time into day and night and the twelve months of the year for everyone to perceive and observe. However, the division into seven-day weeks does not follow any particular astronomical rhythm but has more of a mythological background. The method most likely dates back to the Babylonians, who, like many other peoples, considered the number seven to be especially holy and connected with seven celestial bodies: The Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn.

Just as most planets are named after Roman gods, most days of the week in both German and English take their corresponding names from Norse mythology. Throughout history, the allocation of the days of the week to celestial bodies has endured the test of time:

Monday> Moon ☽
Tuesday> Mars ♂
Wednesday> Mercury ☿
Thursday> Jupiter ♃
Friday > Venus ♀
Saturday> Saturn ♄
Sunday > Sun ☉

With these celestial bodies and their classical symbols, the Astroscope displays the days of the week not in a linear or radial fashion but wandering back and forth in a constellation that only occurs every ten to twelve years in the southern night sky of the northern hemisphere.

The Astroscope stylizes this formation on its dial; a bright dot appears on Monday at about 12 o’clock at the moon symbol and the next day to the left at the Mars symbol. On Wednesday it appears next to Mercury at about 9 o’clock; on Thursday next to Jupiter at 3 o’clock.

In reality, however, it does not jump back and forth. Under the dial, a large weekday disk with a number of bright dots on it moves one step further from one day to the next, always moving in a circle, just as it is in the world of celestial mechanics. This is as amazing and yet as easy to understand as the time when displayed with only one hand.

MeisterSinger Urban Day Date “Edition Today”

German watch brand MeisterSinger presents its latest single-hand timepiece, the Urban Day Date “Edition Today”.

The Urban Day Date “Edition Today” has quite an extraordinary way of displaying the current day of the week: In the arch-shaped aperture of the dial at 12 o’clock, instead of the English days of the week from “MONDAY” to “SUNDAY” in white lettering on a grass-green back-ground, this model displays the word for today seven times, i.e., “TODAY”, “HEUTE”, “AU-JOURD’HUI”, “VANDAAG”, “HOY”, “OGGI”, and “HODIAU” in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and Esperanto. Each day at midnight, the display moves to the next language and correctly shows a new today.

MeisterSinger Urban Day Date “Edition Today”

It reminds us that nothing is as important as today and that the wearer of the watch shouldn’t allow himself to be hurried by the passing of time, but should enjoy experiencing and making good use of the present moment. “Today” in seven languages also makes you think of other countries, of vacations, friends, and colleagues who live in regions that currently seem further away than ever, but where it is also today at the moment.

MeisterSinger Urban Day Date “Edition Today”

The Urban Day Date “Edition Today” is fitted with a black dial, a red date window, a green “today” window, is limited to 100 watches, and will be available at selected retailers from October on. It is powered by a Japanese automatic caliber in a 40-mm stainless steel case and features an exhibition back fastened with screws (water-resistant up to 5 bar).

MeisterSinger Astroscope

After the outstanding success of the Lunascope, MeisterSinger’s moon phase watch, the company has now developed a second model with an astronomical theme. The Astroscope displays the weekdays like they’ve never been shown before, i.e., related to the heavenly bodies that have been attributed to the various days since ancient times.

MeisterSinger Astroscope single-hand automatic watch with day and date

It’s the Sun and the Moon that divide our time into day and night and the twelve months of the year for everyone to feel and observe. However, the division into seven-day weeks does not follow any particular astronomical rhythm but has more of a mythological background.

The method most likely dates back to the Babylonians, who, like many other peoples, considered the number seven to be especially holy and connected with seven heavenly bodies, i.e., the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. Just as most planets are named after Roman gods, most days of the week in both German and English take their corresponding names from Norse mythology.

Monday, the Moon ☽
Tuesday, Mars ♂
Wednesday, Mercury ☿
Thursday, Jupiter ♃
Friday, Venus ♀
Saturday, Saturn ♄
Sunday, the Sun ☉

With these celestial bodies and their classical symbols, the Astroscope shows the days of the week not in a linear or radial fashion but wandering back and forth in a constellation that only occurs every ten to twelve years in the southern night sky of the northern hemisphere. In July 2020 – with the exception of the Sun, of course – all the celestial bodies of the week-days were visible there at the same time.

MeisterSinger Astroscope single-hand automatic watch with day and date

The Astroscope stylizes this formation on its dial; a bright dot appears on Monday at about 12 o’clock at the Moon symbol and the next day to the right at the Mars symbol. On Wednesday it appears next to Mercury at about 9 o’clock; on Thursday next to Jupiter at 3 o’clock.

MeisterSinger Astroscope single-hand automatic watch with day and date

The Astroscope comes with a brochure that describes the historical background in detail and also explains the wandering point of the day. In reality, it does not jump back and forth. Under the dial, a large weekday disk with a number of bright dots on it moves one step further from one day to the next, always moving in a circle, just as it is in the world of celestial mechanics.

MeisterSinger Astroscope single-hand automatic watch with day and date

The Astroscope is available in two variants with a dark dial that depicts the night sky. The numerals are displayed in a fine serif typeface and the astronomical symbols appear on the dial either in blue or in the luminous color “Old Radium”. Above the circular date window and the MeisterSinger logo there is an intimated horizon, enhancing the impression of looking up at the sky.

MeisterSinger Perigraph New Models

The MeisterSinger Perigraph is a single-hand watch designed for people who don’t care about the passing of seconds but want to keep track of the course of the days and months. It is therefore fitted with an open date ring, which together with a well-balanced typography, gives the dial a symmetrical regularity. Until now, this date ring was always the same color as the surrounding dial, and only differed in the fact that it was somewhat recessed.

In two new models, MeisterSinger now emphasizes the geometry of the dial with bold colors in unusual combinations and with a brushed steel case.

MeisterSinger Perigraph New Models 2020 blue dial with black date ring

In the first one, striking, dark tones are placed next to each other and also differ in their surface structure. Whereas most of the dial is deep blue and has a sunburst design, its outer edge and the date ring are matt black. The white typography and red markings are very easy to read against the dark background.

The second variant shows the dynamic color contrast between the shimmering blue of the dial and the matt light gray of the date ring. This expressive geometry is also structured by the functional MeisterSinger typography in white alongside red highlights.

MeisterSinger Perigraph New Models 2020 blue dial with grey date ring

Both models come with leather straps with strong stitching. The stainless-steel case of the Perigraph is 43 millimeters in diameter and water-resistant up to 5 bar. The Swiss automatic movement can be viewed through the six-fold screwed glass exhibition back.

MeisterSinger Neo Pointer Date

MeisterSinger watches show the time with just one single hand. The same is also true of the new model, the Neo Pointer Date. Although the watch is equipped with an additional hand, its only function is to display the date in the middle of the dial.

MeisterSinger Neo Pointer Date

This form of display was a traditional one for wristwatches, as the date used to be indicated by a hand at the center of the dial long before the first date windows appeared. Moreover, the design, which is rare today, follows the MeisterSinger principle of not showing the current moment individually but in context, providing an overview of both the weekly and the monthly course of events, just like the open date rings on the Perigraph or the Pangaea Day Date.

MeisterSinger Neo Pointer Date

The Neo Pointer Date is a variation on this idea and follows the classical rule that the hand for indicating the longer periods of time, in this case the full days, is the shortest. The date circle is somewhat recessed and located tightly around the center of the dial, clearly different from the minute scale and the hour numerals. Its typography and the small, needle-like hand are highly typical of MeisterSinger.

MeisterSinger Neo Pointer Date

With its slender bezel and domed hardened acryl glass, the Neo is one of the most elegant models in the MeisterSinger collection. It is 36 millimeters in diameter and just as popular as the Neo Plus in its 40 mm case. For that reason, the Neo Pointer Date is also available in these two sizes, each in two versions, i.e., opaline white and sunburst blue.

MeisterSinger Neo Pointer Date

The Neo Pointer Date and the Neo Plus Pointer Date are both powered by a Swiss automatic movement. The screwed back of the stainless-steel case is engraved with the fermata logo, stamped with a serial number, and water-resistant up to 3 bar.

All models come with a finely meshed milanaise bracelet and are available from March/April 2020.

MeisterSinger Circularis Reverse Limited Edition

Presented at the Dubai Watch Week, the MeisterSinger Circularis Reverse is exclusively designed for the Arabic-speaking world. Arabic is written to read from right to left, which corresponds to the anti-clockwise direction of the watch itself. At first glance there seems to be no difference at all; the geometry of the dial hardly differs from the standard version, as MeisterSinger always uses double-digit hour numerals in order to give its watches a balanced appearance.

MeisterSinger Circularis Reverse Limited Edition

For its characteristic way of displaying the time with a single, long hand, MeisterSinger commissioned Swiss specialists to develop movements that implement this principle to perfection, in both technical and aesthetic terms. As the hand needs to run with particular precision, a minute wheel with spring teeth was integrated in the movement in order to minimize the backlash. The fact that MeisterSinger is less concerned about short periods of time and more about seeing the bigger picture is also reflected in the Circularis’ five-day power reserve, which is stored in its twin mainspring barrels. Their in-series design means power is delivered to the movement extremely evenly and smoothly, thereby increasing the precision.

The distinctiveness of these movements, which are used exclusively in Circularis models, is also evident in their elaborate design: the finishing with polished edges, blued screws, polished bevels, and engravings lined with gold. The bridge, painstakingly designed by company founder Manfred Brassler, is unique in its merging of technical and aesthetic sophistication.

The Automatic Version of MeisterSinger’s movement MSA01 forms the basis on which the Circularis Reverse was developed. Although the development of this anti-clockwise running timepiece was technically anything but straightforward, it proved to be far more complex than initially expected and it became necessary to build in eleven new components. The result is not a new, but a thoroughly redesigned movement in which the date also switches the other way around. And a fine example of watchmaking ingenuity, which also includes taking the most rational approach possible, as series parts were modified in order to create many of the new components required.

MeisterSinger Circularis Reverse Limited Edition

The Circularis Reverse is exclusively built for MeisterSinger’s partner “Ahmed Seddiqi& Sons” in a limited edition of only 25 pieces. This MeisterSinger special edition wristwatch was presented for the first time at the MeisterSinger Booth during Dubai Watch Week from November 20 to 24, 2019.

MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic Old Radium

MeisterSinger expands it premium collection Circularis by presenting the new Circularis Automatic watch with an “Old Radium” look.

The movements for all Circularis models were developed in Switzerland according to exact specifications set out by Meister-Singer in order to ideally meet the special requirements of single hand watches and to ensure an incredibly large power reserve at the same time. The MSH01 movement is the hand-wound caliber and the MSA01 is the automatic version. The various Circularis models are all equipped with this outstanding technology. Their appliquéd hour numerals and their polished stainless steel cases provide the appropriate grandeur.

MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic Old Radium

The new Circularis Automatic “Old Radium” has a completely different look, more casual and altogether cool. Its case is finely matted, giving it a more leisurely look than a highly polished surface. Here the hour numerals on the black dial are not appliques, but treated with “Old Radium” luminous paint, just like the single hand, creating the impression that the dial has gained a dignified patina over a period of decades. The face of this model is therefore reminiscent of the historical scientific measuring instruments that have always inspired the design of the MeisterSinger collection.

MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic Old Radium

The Circularis’ MSA01 automatic movement follows the grand tradition of Swiss watchmaking, whose specialists have long mastered the art of finding mechanical solutions for every new technical challenge. One of MeisterSinger’s strict design specifications was that the hand should rotate extremely smoothly and evenly, despite its length.

To achieve this feat, the developers created a movement with a wheel with sprung teeth that minimizes the backlash of the hand. Two in-line mainspring barrels store the energy required for the unusually long 120-hour power reserve. The two barrels are powered by a tungsten rotor, which converts the wearer’s every arm movement into the energy that drives the movement. Sickle-shaped recesses are reminiscent of MeisterSinger’s fermata logo and allow a good view of the movement at all times. With its meticulous ornamentation and the uniquely designed bridge, it also meets MeisterSinger’s most stringent aesthetic requirements and has already won the German Design Award for the hand-wound version.

MeisterSinger Circularis Automatic Old Radium

The movement of the Circularis can be viewed through a screwed exhibition glass back.

The stainless-steel case is 43 millimeters in diameter and water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar. The watch comes with a vintage saddle leather strap.

MeisterSinger Metris Black Line

A year ago, MeisterSinger gave four of its classic watches a new finish and therefore a completely new character. The Black Line, with its black case, black dial, and red highlights accentuates the instrument-like heritage of single-hand watches made in Münster.

This year, MeisterSinger chooses Metris as the next member of the Black Line. In its unusual stainless steel case it doesn’t only look elegant, but also particularly rugged and features a screwed crown as well as sturdily protected sides, which means the Metris can be worn in any situation without a worry.

Its scratch-resistant, matt sandblasted DLC coating makes the case of the Metris Black Line look far more striking and its lugs have a predatory look, similar to the ears of a wild animal. The jet black dial has a structure that swallows every reflection, additionally accentuating the red highlights in the minute scale and on the tip of the hour hand, making the hour numerals even more striking: During the day because their “Old Radium” hue gives the impression of dignified ageing and at night because the luminous “superluminova” coating lends them a strong afterglow.

The Metris’ 38-millimeter stainless steel case is designed to protect its Swiss automatic movement from pressures of up to 20 bar. The Black Line comes with its typical cognac-colored saddle leather strap, emphasizing its unusual character, and its seams highlight the vintage shade of the luminous numerals.

Technical details

Model: Metris
Movement: ETA 2824-2 or SW 200-1, 38-hour power reserve, magnified date
Diameter: 38 mm
Case: Stainless steel, six-fold screwed back, water-resistant up to 20 bar, sapphire glass

MeisterSinger Vintago

At this year’s Baselworld, MeisterSinger presented a new watch line to its collection – the Vintago. The Münster-based company specializes in mechanical single-hand watches.

As the name suggests, the Vintago also provides a look back to the past, because it embodies the design virtues of a rather elegant era. The purely functional typography and the flat glass domed over the unadorned dial are reminiscent of the austere design language of the 1960s.

The finely brushed stainless steel case with its discreet 38-millimetre diameter is also typical of that decade. And last but not least, the carefully designed crown also harks back to those bygone years.

But whereas MeisterSinger’s Neo looks at first glance like it’s been around since the 1950s, the Vintago’s design is also quite contemporary at the same time. Its curved hour hand rotates over a multi-level dial, thereby adding further depth to its geometric appearance. The generous arched segment of the date display is cut out of the raised center.

Both the form and the content are highly typical for MeisterSinger, as the wearer has an overview of five calendar days and a small dot marks the current date. In all four versions of the Vintago (opaline white, ivory, blue, and black), the basic hue of the date disk and the color of the numerals are selected to match the dial.

The Vintago is modeled on the vintage qualities of a good port wine, which is made from the best grapes and simply gets better and better as it ages.

On the back of the flat case, which is water-resistant up to 5 bar, the glass exhibition window reveals the Swiss movement driving the Vintago: the Sellita SW200-1 automatic. The four models will be available from April with a calfskin watchstrap that matches the color of the dial.

MeisterSinger Bronze Line

German watch brand MeisterSinger presents the first three watches in its new Bronze Line.

With the new Bronze Line, MeisterSinger underscores the instrumental character of its timepieces with three watches, each with its own unique character, in a case made of this traditional material.

Robust and weatherproof, bronze was for a long time the ideal casing for scientific instruments and devices, whether in seafaring or in the field of medicine. The fact that a bronze case is not only capable of reliably protecting a watch over a long period, but also reveals its age, was another reason for MeisterSinger to craft three of its most successful models in bronze. The choice of the color of the dial is quite striking. The historical case material, the numerals and the hand in “Old Radium”, and the instrument-like red tip of the hand provide a contrast to the deep blue sunburst finish of the dial.

Just as the stainless steel versions of the three MeisterSinger models differ from one another, they also have their own unique character when encased in bronze.

No.03 Bronze Line

The No.03 is a MeisterSinger classic model with its understated appearance and the unadorned clarity of its dial, and has already won prestigious design awards. Despite its imposing 43-millimeter diameter, it is a timepiece of simple elegance – but also a genuine eye catcher in the bronze version.

The reverse side of the watch features a six-fold screwed steel back with a glass exhibition window that provides an excellent view of the Swiss automatic movement. The No.03 in bronze comes with a hand-sewn calfskin watchstrap in dark brown and a bronze buckle. The single-hand watch will be available from April.

Perigraph Bronze Line

The Perigraph follows the MeisterSinger principle of clear circular arrangement. The date is not displayed in a window, but on the open date disk at 12 o’clock, making the Perigraph particularly reminiscent of classical analog instruments. This impression is additionally reinforced in the bronze version, thus creating the image of noble commitment to scientific traditions.

The reverse side of the Perigraph features a six-fold screwed stainless steel back with a sapphire glass exhibition window that provides an excellent view of the Swiss automatic movement. Metris Bronze Line

The Metris is a young, robust companion for any time and any place – for the office or the beach. Perhaps this particular model of the Bronze Line is more likely to pick up a few small scars on the case and a patina from outdoor use – after all, it is water-resistant up to 20 bar.

The contrast between these signs of ageing and the sunburst blue dial are therefore all the more interesting. The multifaceted structure of the case and the opulent blue dial make the Metris an eye-catcher in any situation, even if the gala calls instead of the wilderness.

The bronze case of the Metris has a diameter of 38 millimeters and a six fold screwed stainless steel back. The watch is powered by a Swiss automatic movement. The Metris in bronze comes with a dark brown calfskin watchstrap and a bronze buckle and goes on sale in April.

MeisterSinger Urban Day Date

MeisterSinger’s Urban Day Date watch features an easy to read day and date display and an even more dynamic design.

One year ago, MeisterSinger presented a young, fresh interpretation of the singlehand watch. With its clear, concise appearance and striking numerals, the Urban fits in perfectly with the lifestyle of young city dwellers who confidently dispense with anything too complicated and don’t let themselves be rushed. In the new Day Date version, it displays the weekday at twelve o’clock and the current date at six o’clock in two different windows.

Actually, the in-house house specialties include calendar displays on open rings, but the shapes of the Urban Day Date windows are also part of the MeisterSinger design code, as the circular date window has been created to match the case design and the semicircle for reading the weekday corresponds to the fermata logo. Above all, it creates a fascinating point of interest in between the upper hour markers.

The Urban Day Date is the only MeisterSinger to display the typical twin hour digits only at 02, 04, 08, and 10 o’clock, which gives it a particularly dynamic look. And the powerful typography emphasizes the instrumental character of the watch just as much as the red tip of the single hour hand.

The Urban Day Date is available in four different dial designs; the day and date windows underscore the distinctive geometry with a matching contrasting color. The opaline silver and sand gray versions are fitted with black date disks, while in the black and blue versions they are a vibrant red.

The Urban Day Date is powered by a dependable automatic caliber, the Miyota 8265, the workings of which can be observed through the screwed glass exhibition back of the stainless steel case. Whenever the wearer moves, the rotor engraved with the MeisterSinger logo supplies the movement with fresh energy.

The mainspring stores the power for 42 hours of precise running and for the next step of the date disks to the following calendar day at midnight. If the owner takes off the watch over a long weekend, the weekday and date can be adjusted quickly and easily via the crown.

The Urban Day Date comes with a matching textile strap.

MeisterSinger Salthora Meta X Transparent Limited Edition

Most of the MeisterSinger watch models feature only one hand (mostly an hour hand) except the Salthora, which feature a minute hand instead. They are fitted with a distinguishing “jumping hour”, displayed in a round window at 12 o’clock, where a mechanism specially designed for MeisterSinger jumps to the next hour every 60 minutes.

Launched in 2017, the Salthora Meta X model from the Salthora collection is a diving watch. Featuring a robust case and unidirectional bezel, the Meta X version has a water resistance up to 200 meters. Now, MeisterSinger presents the Salthora Meta X transparent “jumping hour” edition, which is available as a set, together with a bracelet hand-made by Albanu of Monaco.

As its sophisticated technology is the key factor in the success of the Salthora, the new Salthora Meta X transparent limited edition displays not only the time, but also the module that enables the powerful jump to the next hour.

The open dial makes it possible to see exactly how the snail attached to the minute wheel stores the energy for exactly one hour before releasing it in the rapid, well-balanced movement of the actuating lever. Typical for MeisterSinger, the rotating hour circle is also open and the current hour is shown at the top in a frame. Its color scheme, consisting of polished steel surfaces, matt black, and the vivid red accents on the hand, the indices, and leather strap also match the dynamic character of the watch.

The Salthora Meta X transparent comes with a bracelet hand-made by Albanu of Monaco.

Since 1928 Albanu has woven bracelets from unusual materials, which are both striking and hardwearing. For MeisterSinger, Albanu created a two-colored bracelet made of marine cord, just like those used in sailing, with a stainless steel silver and black clasp. Water-resistant and robust, it highlights the strong character of the watch when worn on the arm.

The Edition Salthora Meta X transparent is limited to 150 pieces.

MeisterSinger Black Line

MeisterSinger makes mechanical watches with one single hand for people who don’t want to combine two or three readings, but simply keep track of time. This year, the German watch manufacturer presents its new collection Black Line comprising matt black versions of their four popular models.

The cases of these four MeisterSinger classics are coated with jet-black carbon and then sandblasted to provide a matt finish. The diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating makes these watches particularly hardwearing and rugged.

The dials are also designed in matt jet black, accentuating the digits and markings in an even more striking manner. During the day, their color seems similar to the patinated radium displays of historic watches. In the dark, however, their superluminova coating emanates a forceful glow. The length of the hand’s red segment precisely matches the geometry of the dial, just like the red highlights of the indices, which give the dials a rigorous structure.

The contrast on the backs of the cases is particularly strong, where the similarly blackened back forms a frame for the glass exhibition window and the meticulously finished movements. The robust saddle leather straps that come with this line of watches underscore their energetic character.

No.03 Black Line
The No.03, which has won various design awards in the past, acquires a new, dark attraction in the Black Line version. With a diameter of 43 millimeters, its splendid stainless steel case is coated with black DLC and sandblasted to achieve a matt finish. The imprint on the black dial is colored in “old radium” with four red hour markers and a red-tipped hand.

The glass exhibition window set in the back, which is also matt black, provides an excellent view of the Swiss movement. The watch comes with a cognac-colored saddle leather strap and is available from April 2018.

Perigraph Black Line
With its open date disk, the Perigraph has long since become a classic model in the MeisterSinger collection and its design has won a number of awards. In the Black Line version, exactly that section of the hand which moves around the hour circle is marked red. Small red indices give the date disk a striking visual contrast.

The screwed-in back of the stainless steel case is also coated in matt black DLC. The Swiss automatic movement is visible through its window. The Perigraph Black Line is combined with a dark brown saddle leather strap that completes the vintage style. The Perigraph Black Line is available from April.

The Black Line version gives the dynamic character of this watch additional power. It features typography with instrument-like “old radium” coloring and a red tipped hand that moves around the black dial for 60 minutes until it finally reaches the window at the top to actuate the jump to the next hour.

The stainless steel case of the Salthora Meta is coated in black DLC with a matt finish. The Swiss movement, which features a module new to MeisterSinger, can be viewed through a window in the black-coated back. The watch comes with a robust brown saddle leather strap and goes on sale in April.

Circularis Power Reserve Black Line
The flagship of the MeisterSinger collection, fitted with an in-house designed hand wound movement and a special-purpose display for the generous power reserve, shows  a completely new side to its character in the Black Line version.

Both the time of day and the power reserve are indicated by hands with red markings and the small red indices that point to the diminishing power reserve are not meant as additional information, but as a warning signal. The date display in red is also accentuated, transforming the black dial of this Circularis into an instrument panel.

The dial is framed by a matt black, DLC-coated stainless steel case and the back provides an excellent view of the black-coated caliber of the MSH02. The watch comes with a robust brown saddle leather strap, is available from April.

MeisterSinger Lunascope – The First Moonphase Watch from the Manufacturer of Single-Hand Watches

Renowned as a leader in the manufacturing of single-hand watches, Meistersinger is now presenting its first astronomical watch – the Lunascope.

The slender stainless steel case of the Pangaea family forms the ideal backdrop for an unusually large moon-phase display. The upper half of the dial features a dynamic cut in which the moon moves across a dark blue, starry background. The generous diameter of this timepiece allows a realistic depiction of even fine details of the moon’s surface.

The natural impression of the Earth’s satellite corresponds to the astronomical precision with which the Lunascope represents the moon’s various phases. The moon takes 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.9 seconds to circumnavigate the Earth. Most watches round this figure down to 29.5 days via the movement, which means they deviate by eight hours per year and need to be corrected by one complete day every three years.

However, the movement specially designed for the MeisterSinger Lunascope is far more exact. Its moon-phase indicator only needs a slight adjustment after 128 years. The workings of the Swiss automatic movement in the Lunascope equipped with the moon-phase module can be viewed through the screwed glass exhibition back of the 40-millimeter case.

The Lunascope is available in two versions – with a sunburst dial in the dark blue of the moon’s background or with a silvery opaline dial, on which the circular date window at 6o’clock forms an optical contrast to the astronomical display. The blue model comes with a calfskin watchstrap in cognac, the silver-opaline version with a dark brown leather strap (crocodile grain).

MeisterSinger Metris

With the Metris, MeisterSinger presents a new model that is suitable for most occasions and activities. Dressed in a slender case, this new model boasts typical hallmarks of MeisterSinger watches, the needle-shaped hand and the twin digits to mark the hours, plus a round, magnified date window.

The main thing that makes it different to the other models is its dynamically shaped case and its conical flanks. It has a certain similarity to the sports watches of the early 70s.

Measuring 38mm diameter, the stainless steel case of the Metris is waterproof up to 20 bar and its oval integrates the crown protector, giving the watch added robustness.

The Metris is powered by a Swiss automatic caliber. It is fitted with a domed sapphire glass and a steel back secured with six screws. The dial comes in four versions – opaline silver, black, ivory, and blue (Superluminova on indexes and needle-hand). The date window is always white and displays the same striking typography as the hour digits.
