MECCANICHE VELOCI ICON Damascus

Meccaniche Veloci presents the new Icon Damascus, an unrealised and original version of the Icon line. The Italian soul of the brand is the fuel that feeds the strong creativity of the Maison.

Icon Damascus is exceptionally made of steel, the timepiece explores a steel technique used for more than a thousand years. The allure of history turns into a very topical aesthetic and design concept. The steel is stretched and folded down on itself many times in order to be forged. This process creates a unique pattern. The decorative motif of the Damascus steel originates from the union of different types of metal, this aspect corresponds to an exceptional resistance and stability quality over time.

The metal of the 49 millimeter case and of the bezel shows a texture characterized by irregular “waves” that create shiny and opaque effects. In this unreleased background stand out the distinctive four black dials, each one indicating minutes and hours, while the date and the red seconds hand are located on the bottom right dial and top right dial. The functions of every single dial are regulated via their corresponding crowns.

The metal effect is interrupted on the case middle by a black a-DLC titanium band that besides adding more audacity to the timepiece, emulates and celebrates the next-gen pistons with black Teflon anti-seize insert.

Icon Damascus is driven by the calibre MV 8802 developed in-house, which is visible through the open caseback.

The strap, directly attached to the case via a system that does not require lugs, is in black leather with red stitching and a black a-DLC steel folding clasp.

Meccaniche Veloci Quattrovalvole Nardi Limited Edition

Meccaniche Veloci presents a unique timepiece from the QuattroValvole collection, in partnership with Nardi, the prestigious Italian firm that makes traditionally-crafted steering wheels. The result is QuattroValvole Nardi Edition, a limited-edition collection of 50 timepieces.

The watchmaking brand has enriched its beautiful creations with a new story of Italian excellence in celebration of a highly traditional company, Nardi: a legendary brand that has worked with the greatest names in the automobile industry for over ninety years.

The new Meccaniche Veloci Limited Edition continues the tradition of a partnership that has in the past allowed the brand to tell stories of fascinating engines and explore a wide range of materials in an expression of creative freedom applied to high watchmaking.

With shared conceptual and stylistic intentions, the new timepieces represent the passion that the two brands share for the world of beautiful vehicles, as well as attention to detail. Drawing on their Italian roots, Meccaniche Veloci – Genève and Nardi Personal have a joint philosophy that sets them apart from their contemporaries: producing high-quality creations through the use of select materials, specific production processes and unique style and design.

The characteristic case of Meccaniche Veloci watches, inspired by the design of a piston, is made from titanium and decorated on the edge of the case middle with a narrow, hard wooden insert with beautiful veining and extraordinary resistance. Meccaniche Veloci celebrates wood, the star material of Nardi creations.

The watch dial presents an opaque surface with a delicate guilloché weave. As well as the high quality typical of traditional watchmaking, this finish also renders the dial more precious and clearly recalls the harmonious design of Nardi’s most exclusive pedigree steering wheels that are still hand-crafted to this day.

Four small dials edged in blue in tribute to Nardi’s colours stand out against the QuattroValvole’s dial. The two brands’ logos appear at the centre. All the hours and minutes hands are coated with SuperLuminova® and the seconds function is fulfilled by the small red hand at the bottom right of the dial, while the date may be read through a circular aperture within the dial above.

Featuring a 49 mm case with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, it is driven by the calibre MV8802 developed in-house by Meccaniche Veloci which allows two different time zones to be displayed simultaneously and independently, an expression of both the fleeting nature of time and space and their precise mastery. On the case, four crowns positioned adjacent to the four dials allow each individual time zone to be adjusted.

The strap of the QuattroValvole Nardi Edition model, directly attached to the case via a system that does not require lugs, is in black leather with green stitching and a steel MV folding clasp.

MECCANICHE VELOCI

Meccaniche Veloci is an independent Swiss-Italian contemporary watchmaker, established in Milan in 2006. MV timepieces are strongly characterised by their piston-shaped case and today they have become an authentic icon all over the world

Now, based in Geneva, Meccaniche Veloci  has managed to successfully combine motor engineering with the highest quality watch craftsmanship since 2006. Allowing all of the Adrenalin of high speed to be relived in wristwatches that stand out for their state of the art design and strong sports and technological imprinting. Every single Meccaniche Veloci model tells a different story in addition to being a veritable masterpiece of creativity and original for its use of materials.

Bold in design and material, the famed Quattro Valvole watch, renowned throughout the world for reminding of the section of a motor piston, is a timepiece that expresses the essence and values of the brand.

Four phases, four valves, four pistons. Obsessed with perfection, high spec mechanics and a focus on high performance, the initial concept was born. From the shop to the asphalt to the drawing board, the idea took shape: the piston became the heart of the timepiece and changed the rules of watch design; functional aesthetics, packed with the emotion and passion of motor sports took the lead. Born out of this thrill of creation, Quattro Valvole by Meccaniche Veloci is a whirl of precision and personality that doesn’t chase after time, it captures it directly on your wrist.

Essential in gesture and brilliant in its design, Quattro Valvole, the icon of Meccaniche Veloci, is forged directly from a metal core that’s alive and throbbing, because style also means standing out.

Speed and mechanical components represent the true nature of these watches. Not just a sporting spirit, but also pure mechanics at the service of the internal mechanism of the watch. The symbol of the brand is the piston with the four subdials representing the intake and exhaust valves which are reproduced and engineered to house the four movements of the watch. Hence the name Quattro Valvole, which today identifies Meccaniche Veloci’s best known model and the focus of their main collections.

Sporting, elegant and precious in the Classic, Luxury and Limited Edition lines, the models all have precise, delicate and elegant styles, as in the best of Italian design. These watches are worn like a second skin. One can choose from wide varieties of colours of the watch dial, materials and straps, with the logo of the mechanism always in view.

Manufactured, assembled and controlled in Switzerland, Meccaniche Veloci watches proudly bear the wording “Swiss Made”. With one or four movements, they reveal the perfection and extreme precision of their mechanism.

Almost five years since its launch, Meccaniche Veloci introduced a collection of the famous Quattro Valvole line, in four different variants. The famous timepiece based on a four-phase engine piston, which reminds of the intake and exhaust valves of the engine, has been re-designed. It is a veritable evolution that involves new styling, and exceptional mechanical craftsmanship, enhancing the functionality of the timepiece. Titanium for the case, a single slightly convex, anti-reflective, sapphire crystal glass  covering  the  dial  and,  to  finish,  the  Swiss  Made  stamp,  confirming  the excellence of the timepieces.

Since 2016 Meccaniche Veloci headquarters has been based in Plan-les-Ouates, the famous watchmakers district of Geneva, Switzerland. In 2016, Meccaniche Veloci launched the MV 8801 in-house movement and the Quattro Valvole Four Strokes Moneymaker is the first watch model to be powered with this new mechanical automatic caliber.

Meccaniche Veloci, the Italian-Swiss watchmaker based in Geneva, presents its latest watch, the new MoneyMaker. This new timepiece will be officially unveiled at the next Basel World Watch and Jewellery Show, Baselworld 2016.

The MoneyMaker is part of the Quattro Valvole – Four Strokes collection, showing four different time zones simultaneously, and will be the first watch launched by the Geneva watchmakers with the new MV8801 in-house movement.

The dial of the MoneyMaker is characterised by a traditional guilloché needle-etched design with radial elements applied by hand representing a vault door, and the symbols of major world currencies make it quick and easy to identify the four different time zones. The new logo characterizing the production ‘Made in Geneva’ also appears for the first time on this model.

Meccaniche Veloci Presents the MV 8801 In-House Movement

Meccaniche Veloci, the Italian-Swiss watchmaker based in Geneva, presents its first in-house movement, the MV 8801. The special feature of this new automatic mechanism is that it allows for the separate and simultaneous tracking of four different time zones. The new calibre will be assembled in the new Icon and Quattro Valvole models, which have been redesigned for the occasion. The development of this in-house mechanical movement waves the racing flag of Meccaniche Veloci into the world of luxury watchmaking.

The acronym MV 8801 reflects the initials of the brand and the first two digits “88”are a visual replica of the four separate displays that have always featured in the Icon and Quattro Valvole models, aside from being the numbers of good fortune in the Eastern culture. The “01” indicates that this is the first movement developed in-house by Meccaniche Veloci. The MV 8801 will have new watch dials: the very first model, the Money Maker, will be presented at the SIHH at the end of January 2016.

Meccaniche Veloci Corsacorta Evo

Meccaniche Veloci announces changes in management and the introduction of a new collection, Corsacorta Evo.

MV will be presenting the Corsacorta Evo solo tempo at Baselworld 2015. This new watch features a rugged core combined with a sleek look, all very much in the spirit of the brand. The name of the new model is inspired from a particular type of engine in which the stroke of the piston is shorter in relation to the bore of the cylinder, which allows for greater power development at high rpm: one particularity of these engines is that they boast very athletic performance with meticulous attention to detail, something that speed fans will surely know to appreciate.

What distinguishes this watch stylistically from the emblematic Quattro Valvole and Due Valvole is the special shape of the bracelet, whose buckles are in a contrasting colour to the case. As for the case itself, it is thinner, but still inspired by a piston ring. The idea was to reconceive a textile bracelet with delicate, contrasting stitching.

Meccaniche Veloci is prepared to meet the many challenges of 2015 with the mettle that has always characterized the brand. Cesare Cerrito, of Italian origin, is the new president of the company, which is now based in Geneva. This connoisseur of fine watches and engines spent over twenty years working in finance in London, Milan and Geneva.

The takeover of Meccaniche Veloci also involved nomination of a new CEO, one who has a lot of experience in the world of fine watchmaking: Riccardo Monfardino, former commercial director at Franck Muller, where he worked for fifteen years. He will be in charge of the complete strategy for the global distribution of MV.

Meccaniche Veloci – New Limited Editions 2014 (GASKET, TYRE, CAR FAIRING and NAKED)

GASKET collection
In the world of speed, every millimetre must be cared for and there are no components of secondary importance. Even a rubber part, such as a gasket, is made and checked by attentive eyes. In this new collection, Meccaniche Veloci takes inspiration from the gasket of the engines and uses its creativity to make it the central feature of the new design of Quattro Valvole watches. The dial, covered with carbon fibre, plays with the curved shape of a gasket surrounding the subdials of the watch.

Meccaniche Veloci Quattro Valvole 48 Four Strokes Icon

The Icon Collection from Meccaniche Veloci celebrates a return of the past. The Quattro Valvolve 48 Four Strokes with four independent sapphire crystals was the model that made the name of Meccaniche Veloci in the exclusive watch sector. Years later, with requests from watch lovers, VIPs and sports personalities who became fans of this model, the Quattro Valvole is back.

Of course, history never repeats itself in exactly the same way and Meccaniche Veloci, a brand that prides itself on its investment in innovation and research, couldn’t launch a pure copy of the old version.

The Quattro Valvole Icon, with its distinctive design of the upper part of the case left free of glass and the four dials protected by separate crystals, has been crafted in high performance modern materials capitalizing on the brand’s knowhow developed over recent years. Titanium of the upper surface of the case has been crafted with unconventional finishing or is covered with ceramic or carbon fibre. The four dials are made of either carbon fibre or colour combinations that are a reminiscent of the very first models of the Quattro Valvole watches.

The Icon version of Quattro Valvole is a completely Swiss Made watch, not only the four independent movements housed in the four dials. Naturally, the watch is finished with the distinctive wrist-strap fixed directly onto the case.
