MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T New Models with Gem-stone Dial Plates

Introduced in 2019, Legacy Machine Flying T is the first MB&F Machine dedicated to women.

The first MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT watch was launched in 2019 in three editions, all in white gold and set with diamonds: black lacquer dial plate with case set with brilliant-cut diamonds; dial plate and case both fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds; and dial plate and case both fully set with baguette-cut diamonds. In 2020, Legacy Machine FlyingT Red Gold and Platinum versions with guilloche dial plates were launched.

MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T with 18K White Gold Case and lapis lazuli dial plate

This year, three new diamond-set editions with gemstone dial plates have been added to the FlyingT collection: 18K white gold case with lapis lazuli dial plate, 18K white gold with malachite dial plate and 18K yellow gold case with tiger eye dial plate.

MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T with diamond-set 18K white gold case and lapis lazuli dial plate

The Legacy Machine FlyingT is a three-dimensional horological art piece for women. It features a round case with a steeply cambered bezel and slender, elongated lugs. A high, extravagantly convex dome of sapphire crystal rises from the bezel. The subtly curved dial plate of this watch is offered in various finishes: black lacquer, guilloche, gem-stone or diamond-set. The new models released in 2022 feature gemstone dials: lapis lazuli, malachite or tiger eye.

An asymmetric ventricular opening in the dial plate frames a flying tourbillon movement that beats at a serene rate of 2.5Hz (18,000vph). The tourbillon projects high above the rest of the engine, a kinetic, dynamic column that stops just short of the apex of the sapphire crystal dome. Affixed to the top of the upper tourbillon cage is a single large diamond that rotates simultaneously with the flying tourbillon.

MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T with diamond-set 18K yellow gold case and tiger eye dial plate

At the 7 o’clock position is a dial of gemstone (lapis lazuli, malachite or tiger eye) that displays the hours and minutes with a pair of elegant serpentine hands. The dial is inclined at a 50° tilt so that the time can be read only by the wearer.

MB&F Legacy Machine Flying T with diamond-set 18K yellow gold case and tiger eye dial plate

On the reverse, the automatic winding rotor takes the shape of a three-dimensional red gold sun with sculpted rays. The Legacy Machine FlyingT has a power reserve of four days (100 hours).

Chopard IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon

Chopard has added a new flying tourbillon watch to its IMPERIALE collection.

Issued in an eight-piece limited edition, IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon watch features a diamond-set case in ethical 18-carat white gold, and a sparkling aventurine dial ‘embroidered’ with a mother-of-pearl marquetry lotus blossom.

Introduced in 1994, the Chopard IMPERIALE collection welcomes its first-ever flying tourbillon movement, L.U.C Calibre 96.24-C. Entirely designed and crafted by Chopard, this exclusive mechanism is one of the only ones on the market bearing both Chronometer-certification and the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.

Chopard IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon

Entirely crafted in the Manufacture’s workshops, Chopard’s flying tourbillon was launched in 2019 in the men’s L.U.C FlyingT Twin watch. Since then, this tourbillon mechanism has also been available in ladies’ limited series.

It now benefits from all the technical innovations developed over the last 25 years by Chopard Manufacture. Its remarkable slenderness–at barely 3.30mm thick for 194 components– ranks it among the thinnest in contemporary Haute Horlogerie.

L.U.C Calibre 96.24-C is equipped with a stop-seconds function. This technical feature, which is extremely rare in a tourbillon, enables even more accurate time-setting, and the IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon is indeed chronometer-certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

This exceptional watch has earned the Poinçon de Genève, the prestigious hallmark that has been awarded since 1886 in recognition of the highest level of production quality for each component. Finally, Chopard Twin technology ensures that the IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon has a 65-hour power reserve.

A tribute to the great historical empires, the style codes of the IMPERIALE collection are reflected in the dagger-shaped hands and the case lugs reminiscent of ancient columns. On the back of the model, a sapphire crystal reveals the Côtes de Genève motif as well as the diamond-paved platinum micro-rotor.

Chopard IMPERIALE Flying Tourbillon

The case and lugs in ethical 18-carat white gold are adorned with sparkling diamonds. Their brilliance lights up the glittering midnight-blue sky of the aventurine glass dial on which a lotus flower in mother-of-pearl marquetry has blossomed.

Its wonderfully curved petals open on to a second flower, this time paved with diamonds. In place of the pistil, the flying tourbillon adorned with four petals also acquires a plant-like allure, thus instilling new poetry into the rotations of its infinitely small mechanism.

Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori New Models

Born in 2019, the Bvlgari Seduttori line has retained the snake’s head. While Serpenti first became known for its Tubogas bracelet, Bulgari has chosen to broaden the reptile’s impact by adding a new bracelet.

Its construction is based on an architecture composed of hexagonal motifs, a stylistic element used by Bulgari since the creation of the first Serpenti watches. Characterised by absolute fluidity, it flows over the wrist to fit like a barely perceptible second skin.

Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori diamond-set steel watch

It forms one with the case, which represents the head of the snake, as part of a very well-balanced momentum. Whether made of steel, rose gold and steel or full rose gold, this new configuration expresses the perfectly proportioned and flawless elegance that befits accomplished creations.

Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori diamond-set rose gold and steel watch

Bulgari is presenting its three most iconic variations graced with a new dramatic black lacquer dial, framed by a steel, steel and rose gold or full rose gold case.

Bvlgari Serpenti Seduttori diamond-set rose gold watch

Steel or rose gold hour-markers; diamonds set around the edge of the bezel forming two arcs of a circle to recall the jewellery ancestry of the creations; as well as the characteristic cabochon-cut rubellite: multiple features contribute to enhancing the sparkle and luminosity of these models.

Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas New Models

Bulgari’s single-tour Serpenti Tubogas wristwatch for women is now available in a bimetallic combination of yellow gold and steel, or exclusively in yellow gold set with diamonds on either side of the reptile’s head, embellished with a white opaline guilloché dial.

Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas New Models 2022

Christened Tubogas because of its similarity to a lowly woven-metal gas pipe, the technique has been used in jewellery making since the late 1940s.

An eloquent example of industrial-inspired design, it was popularised in the Art Deco period when the challenge of miniaturising large engineered objects, and using them for novel purposes, took off.

Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas watch New dual tone model

In the 1940s, Bulgari inserted a watch dial into a Tubogas bracelet to create a highly stylised serpent watch. The design was revived in the 1970s when Bulgari introduced it into watches, bracelets, necklaces and rings. The effect of a stark, engineered coil combined with coins and richly coloured precious gems created a fascinating contrast that marked Bulgari’s style of jewels, intended to be worn and enjoyed every day.

Bvlgari Serpenti Tubogas watch New Model in yellow gold

Complicated to produce, the Tubogas is formed by long bands of gold or steel, wrapped around a steel core. As they are coiled, the rounded contours of the bands interlock to conceal completely the inner structure.

The specialist goldsmiths use no soldering. The flexibility of the coiled bands alone is what gives the Tubogas its characteristic bounce.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi Romani High Jewellery Secret Watch

The Serpenti Misteriosi Romani High Jewellery secret watch represents an ultra-luxurious interpretation of the iconic Serpenti motif.

Inspired by classical Rome and in a nod to the gold bracelets worn by upper-class society, the creation is one of the most expensive high-end timepieces ever made by Bulgari.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi Romani High Jewellery Secret Watch

Winner of the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) with the Jewellery Watch Prize in 2019, this truly spectacular one-of-a-kind creation comprises a massive number of precious stones.

The snake’s head is crowned with a 10-carat Sri Lankan sapphire and a total of more than 60 carats of diamonds, while 35 carats of sapphires form the serpent’s body and scales.

The magnificent piece echoes Bulgari’s Roman roots, emblematic of ancient gladiators and antique jewels. As sensuous as its inspiration, the cuff bracelet features a snake sinuously coiled around it.

To reinforce the theme, the cuff is embellished with baguette-cut diamond scales, so that the wrist inhabits the design and becomes part of the snake itself.

Bvlgari Lvcea Intarsio

Bvlgari’s Lvcea timepiece collection pays homage to the sundials of ancient Rome that captured light to signal the passage of time

Unveiled at the LVMH Watch Week 2022, the new Bvlgari Lvcea Intarsio watch models add new colours to the palette, with their three-dimensional architectural dials crafted in materials that capture and enhance the light. Pink mother-of-pearl and aventurine compose the two new Lvcea shades ensuring maximum chromatic effect and infusing the collection with an additional jewellery touch.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery Secret Watches

The new Serpenti Misteriosi timepieces by Bulgari embody new feats of miniaturisation associated with the jewellery and decorative excellence of the Rome-based Maison.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery, reference 103559

During the LVMH Watch Week 2022, Bulgari launched four new Serpenti secret-watches revisiting the iconic design from the 1950s and paying tribute to the 80th anniversary of the first Bulgari secret watch featuring a rectangular dial concealed by a hinged cover set with brilliant-cut diamonds and decorated with baguette diamonds.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery, reference 103560

The new creations are all equipped with the new Piccolissimo mechanical movement, one of the smallest in the world, entirely conceived and produced within the Bulgari Manufacture in Le Sentier. The BVL100 calibre revives the very small mechanical ‘motors’ that equipped all women’s watches until the early 1970s.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery, reference 103558

Measuring 12.30 mm in diameter and 2.50 mm thick, the BVL100 calibre indicating the hours and minutes is housed in the head of the reptile within a dedicated container. The Manufacture leveraged its rich experience in the domain of Finissimo watches to create a very compact movement weighing only 1.30 grams.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery, reference 103561

The extreme miniaturisation of its 102 components is vividly illustrated in the barrel featuring a total diameter of just 5.00 mm for a thickness of 1.47 mm and a spring that is 170 mm long before being wound. Moreover, to ensure the greatest inertia according to the very small size of the movement, the Manufacture opted for a white gold balance wheel.

Bvlgari Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery, reference 103561

Pressing the snake’s tongue on the Serpenti Misteriosi opens the head to reveal the watch. A bidirectional crown located on the caseback enables manual winding and time-setting. This dual function operates by means of a system of reversers.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Self-Winding for Ladies

During Watches and Wonders 2022, Vacheron Constantin unveiled four new Patrimony self-winding watches for women.

The Patrimony self-winding watch symbolises minimalist art expressed through horological refinement. Inspired by a historical 1957 Vacheron Constantin with a classic round, ultra-thin style and timeless elegance, the Patrimony collection has been distinguished since its launch in 2004 by a restrained and refined watchmaking aesthetic.

In keeping with the line’s signature spirit of purity, the proportions of the new Patrimony models have been revisited. The curve of the 36.5 mm-diameter case in 18K white gold or 18K 5N pink gold has been redesigned, while the crown has been subtly rounded.

The slightly convex dial swept over by leaf-shaped hands following its curves features subtle shades of deep blue for the white gold version and blush pink for the pink gold version. These colours appear in a gradient-effect composition that is lighter in the centre and progressively darker towards the edge of the dial, thereby bringing light and depth to the display of the hours, minutes and seconds.

The care lavished on each detail is reflected in the date disc at 6 o’clock, which has the same colour as the dial, and in the subtle play of gemsetting on the models.

Each of the two versions features either a bezel set with 72 round-cut diamonds lighting up the circular-grained minutes track, or a minutes track itself composed of 48 round-cut diamonds positioned between the applied gold hour-markers.

The gemsetting of the minutes track, a complex operation performed on an underlying domed surface, reflects an approach to watchmaking in which every detail is essential to the anatomy of Vacheron Constantin watches.

These four new references are powered by in-house 2450 Q6/3 movement driving displays of the hours and minutes along with central seconds and an aperture-type date.

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Self-Winding Ladies watch

Beating at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour – an excellent compromise between precision and reliability – it is endowed with a 40-hour power reserve. This 196-component self-winding movement is barely 3.6 mm thick.

Its finishing, like that of the case, complies with Hallmark of Geneva criteria such as a circular-grained mainplate, hand-bevelled bridges adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif, levelled springs, a going train with polished sinks and burnished pinions.

The transparent caseback also reveals a 22K gold open-worked oscillating weight inspired by the Maltese cross.

These new Patrimony watches feature interchangeable straps in night blue or rosy beige alligator leather with an iridescent satin finish. They can be removed and replaced at the touch of a push-button, without any need for tools.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies

Vacheron Constantin presents the Traditionnelle perpetual calendar ultra-thin, a new feminine timepiece in its Traditionnelle collection, a line imbued with the grand Geneva watchmaking heritage and whose design was intended to adapt to all types of watches, whether simple or equipped with sophisticated complications.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies

This timepiece equipped with in-house Calibre 1120 QP elegantly plays on the distinctive aspects of the Gregorian calendar. It displays the days, dates, months and years on a four-year cycle, including a leap-year indication, without any need for correction before 2100.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies

This calendar display is complemented by a moon-phase indication at 6 o’clock. Another distinctive feature of this movement is its thinness: measuring only 4.05 mm thick, it is housed in an 8.43 mm-thick case with a 36.5 mm diameter, ensuring perfect visual harmony.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies

Calibre 1120 QP reflects the Maison’s expertise in ultra-thin movements that has enabled it to set several records in terms of slimness since the 1950s.

With its 276 components perfectly visible through the sapphire caseback, it also reflects noble watchmaking traditions through its extremely meticulous finishing: a circular-grained plate on the dial side, mainplate and bridges adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif on the back, hand-bevelling, circular satin-finished holes and a going train with polished teeth. The oscillating weight featuring a 22K gold segment is also adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif and openworked in the shape of the Maison’s Maltese cross emblem.

This watch whose aesthetic refinement echoes its technical sophistication pays tribute to the identity codes of Vacheron Constantin, whereby the quest for excellence is expressed through the smallest, even invisible details.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies, 18K white gold case version with blue grey dial

Available in 18K white gold and 18K 5N pink gold versions, it is inspired by Vacheron Constantin models from the first half of the last century. It features the strong sense of understatement characterising the collection, embellished with a few special features such as the stepped lugs and case, fluted caseback, as well as Dauphine-type hands flying over a railway minutes track punctuated by baton-type hour-markers.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies, 18K white gold case version with blue grey dial

In keeping with the methodical spirit of the time, which held that function should dictate form, this perpetual calendar has been specially designed to make it easy to read the calendar indications thanks to a slimmed-down bezel offering a larger dial opening.

Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin for Ladies, 18K white gold case version with blue grey dial

The dial is adorned with blue-grey tinted mother-of-pearl for the white gold model and white mother-of-pearl for the pink gold model.

The moon-phase disc bears the same colours as the dial, while the depiction of the moon and the stars adopts the same shade of gold as the case, complete with an opaline finish. In a final touch of elegance, the bezel and top of the lugs are delicately set with 76 round-cut diamonds, while the crown is adorned with a round-cut diamond.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

Audemars Piguet presents a new limited edition 34 mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic watch in collaboration with Florentine fine-jewellery designer Carolina Bucci.

In celebration of the Royal Oak’s fiftieth anniversary, the Italian jewellery designer has created a dial endowed with a unique multi-coloured mirror effect paying tribute to the iconic Tapisserie design. The result is as unexpected as it is elegant. This limited edition is designed for both men and women and is available exclusively in Audemars Piguet boutiques and AP Houses.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

For her third collaboration with Audemars Piguet, Carolina Bucci has left behind her hammering technique, known as Frosted Gold, to enrich an all-black ceramic piece with a surprising dial. Always looking to meet new challenges, she decided to focus on contrasts.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

At first glance, the dial appears black, but on closer inspection it reveals a multi-coloured spectrum that brings the Tapisserie effect to life in the ever-changing light. To reach this result, a sapphire plate adorned with little squares achieved through micro-structuring is added on top of the brass dial plate to create rich rainbow-coloured plays of light.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

A golden metallisation, specially developed for the occasion, is also applied onto the back of the sapphire plate to create a mirror effect and shines light onto the dial. The pattern of iridescent colours varies from dial to dial, making each design unique. This limited edition comes in a presentation box that has also been designed by Carolina Bucci. For this special occasion, the jewellery designer wanted to use the Tapisserie pattern in relief, going into the finest details, to pay homage to the 1972 classic.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

The black ceramic case and bracelet are highlighted by hexagonal pink gold screws that secure the bezel and create an elegant contrast of colours. All the components of the case and bracelet are finished with the Manufacture’s signature satin-finishing that is paired with polished chamfers for a maximum play on light.

The bracelet has been slightly revised to provide a better visual effect. The pins connecting the links to the studs are no longer visible from the side, but are directly integrated into the studs.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

The titanium and sapphire caseback is engraved with the inscription “Limited Edition Carolina Bucci” and reveals the Calibre 5800 beneath, which indicates the hours, minutes, seconds and date. In keeping with the finish on the screws, hour-markers and hands, the 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight features elegant microbead-blasted, polished and satin finishes.

On the dial, the AP monogram has vanished to leave pride of place to the long-form signature which has been engraved on top of the sapphire plate and filled with white lacquer due to the singularity of the dial imagined by Carolina Bucci.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Black Ceramic 34 mm Carolina Bucci Limited Edition

Carolina Bucci first started working with Audemars Piguet in 2016 for the 40th anniversary of the women’s Royal Oak that was created by Jacqueline Dimier in 1976. It was for this special occasion that the Italian designer was invited to reinterpret the original design by Gérald Genta. Together with the Manufacture’s watchmakers, she brought the ancestral technique of Florentine hammering, or Frosted Gold, to the complex architecture of the Royal Oak.

This technique consists of creating tiny indentations in the gold with a diamond-tipped tool that results in a sparkle that looks like diamond dust. Two models were initially released – the 15454 in 37 mm and the 67652 in 33 mm in a choice of white or pink gold – during an international event with Jacqueline Dimier in attendance.

This marked the beginning of Audemars Piguet’s collaboration with Carolina Bucci. Since 2016, the Frosted Gold finish has been applied to numerous watch collections, sizes and complications.

In 2018, the designer signed a limited edition of 300 pieces for Audemars Piguet, entirely crafted in frosted yellow gold with a unique dial. Instead of the model’s trademark Tapisserie design, Carolina Bucci chose a mirrored dial with a flat surface evoking the surface of a lake on a calm day, reflecting the surrounding landscape.

Despite its apparent simplicity, the mirrored dial presented a number of technical challenges that the Manufacture’s artisans were able to overcome to perfection.

In 2020, she went on to design the K.I.S.S. collection of gold bracelets – available in two sizes and numerous tones with matching necklaces – that were inspired by her previous projects with the Manufacture. These creations reinterpret the aesthetic codes of a mechanical watch spring, creating a link between Haute Joaillerie and Haute Horlogerie.

Today, Carolina Bucci pays tribute to the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary, with a design in black ceramic contrasted with multi-coloured reflections on the dial, providing the watch with unexpected plays of light.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection welcomes two new 41 mm models in 18-carat white and pink gold entirely paved with 1085 brilliant-cut diamonds (~4.99 carats) – a first in the collection. The continuous gem setting highlights the contemporary and detailed architecture of the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, while endowing it with a delicate feminine touch.

The new Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Self-winding in white or pink gold shimmers with 1085 brilliant-cut diamonds (~4.99 carats).

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

The 18-carat white or pink gold dial is entirely set with 612 brilliant-cut diamonds (~2.3 carats) radiating from the dial centre like the beams of the sun. They have been carefully chosen to obtain a harmonious effect once combined.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

Each dial features 6 different stone diameters ranging from ~0.65 to ~1.10 mm, evolving from the smallest to the largest as the grain setting moves towards the dial periphery. The unique optical experience conferred by the double curved sapphire crystal magnifies the diamonds’ ever-changing play of light.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

The tone-on-tone white gold model is enhanced by a rhodium-toned inner bezel, while the pink gold model features a graceful pink-gold-toned inner bezel. The respective white or pink gold hour-markers, the application of which represented a complex operation due to the finesse of the fully gem-set dial, add a sophisticated touch.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

All the case components have been elegantly paved with 473 brilliant-cut diamonds (~2.69 carats), from the extra-thin bezel and stylised lugs, to the octagonal middle case and caseback side, all the way to the crown. The stones have been cut in numerous sizes to adapt to the case’s diverse geometries.

While the brilliant-cut diamonds emphasise the subtle monochromatic design of the 18-carat white gold model, they offer an elegant contrast with the 18-carat pink gold case. Last but not least, the polished chamfers adorning the two models’ octagonal case middle, bezel and caseback accentuate the multiple facets of the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet’s complex architecture.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

The two Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Self-winding models are powered by the Calibre 4309. Contrary to other self-winding models in the collection, these two timepieces do not have a date indication so as to give pride of place to the fully gem-set dial.

This movement is equipped with a patented setting mechanism that brings stability and precision when adjusting the watch’s functions. Its large diameter endows it with excellent chronometry. It offers 70-hour power reserve.

Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, New Diamond-set Watches

The sapphire caseback reveals the movement’s Haute Horlogerie decorations including “Côte de Genève,” satin-brushing, circular graining, circular satin and polished chamfers, as well as the collection’s dedicated 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight.

The two 41 mm timepieces are complemented with a new elegant and highly resistant satin-finished calfskin strap in blue-grey shade for the white gold model and in beige hue for the pink gold version. The white or pink gold folding clasp is fully covered with brilliant-cut diamonds for a feminine and refined look down to the slightest detail.

Rare artistic crafts decorate a multiple-level sapphire crystal dial set with diamonds, with micro hand-painted clouds and moon concealing and revealing the star.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch

The new automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 734 reconciles the randomness of shooting stars with the precisely calibrated, mathematical rhythms of timekeeping.

The Rendez-Vous Star watch recreates the enchanting celestial phenomenon “shooting stars” on the wrist, thanks to an entirely new mechanism conceived and developed within the Manufacture.

Activated by the movement of the wrist, the shooting star appears on the dial at random moments – usually four to six times per hour – its unpredictability making it even more special. To enjoy the enchanting display more often, the star may also be summoned on demand by turning the crown several times.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch

The JLC Rendez-Vous Star watch is offered in two enchanting variations: a white gold case with a dial in subtle tones of silvery blue and a pink gold case with a dial in soft golden browns.

Inspired by the magic of shooting stars, the artisans of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Métiers Rares® (Rare Handcrafts™) atelier have harnessed their skills in new ways to depict the beauty and mystery of the night sky.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch pink gold version

Made of transparent sapphire glass, the uppermost of the dial’s three layers has been sprinkled with transferred stars and miniature hand-painted (on both sides of the sapphire glass) with clouds and a crescent moon, which conceal the shooting star when it is inactive.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch

Beneath this is a rotating circular disc of titanium with a cut-out of the shooting star – in an intense night blue for the white gold version and in a dark taupe colour for the pink gold version. When activated, the disc spins, sending the star on its curving path across the upper dial. As it passes, the cut-out reveals the deepest layer of the dial – a fixed disc of silvery or golden metal with a glowing gradient finish that accentuates the sense of movement.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch

Defining the trajectory of the shooting star, a three-quarter circle of diamonds is set into the sapphire glass dial. This is achieved by integrating fine gold threads directly into the glass to anchor the diamonds and enhance the effect of transparency and lightness.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch white gold version

The bezel is set with a circle of glittering diamonds that draw the eye towards the dial and, in keeping with the aesthetic codes of the Rendez-Vous, the upper surfaces of the lugs, and the top of the crown are also diamond-set. To complete these watchmaking treasures, an alligator leather strap, matched to the dial colour and given a glowing, pearlised finish, is fastened to the wrist by a folding buckle.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Star watch in white gold

To create a mechanism that expresses an unpredictable phenomenon is a fascinating challenge for watchmaking as it appears to defy the laws of horology – a world where everything is expressed through precisely calibrated, mathematical rhythms.

Drawing on almost 190 years of expertise accumulated within the Manufacture, the engineers and watchmakers of Jaeger-LeCoultre have developed the new in-house automatic calibre 734, incorporating the new shooting star mechanism. In doing so, they have succeeded in an unprecedented feat of capturing a random cosmic phenomenon in a watchmaking complication.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm

Blancpain has launched a new feminine version of its iconic Air Command Chronograph watch.

Feminine watches hold a special place in Blancpain’s watch range. Since the early 1930s, the Manufacture has tirelessly developed new movements and introduced innovations on women’s behalf.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm

Blancpain is no stranger to ladies’ chronographs and in 1998 became the first to introduce a flyback chronograph for women. The new Air Command 36.2 mm is a sportier and more adventurous interpretation of the ladies’ flyback chronograph.

The rare 1950s Blancpain chronograph that inspired the Air Command collection is naturally reflected in the vintage look of this new model.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm with 18k red gold case

The layout of the counters and tachymeter scale on the dial, as well as the shape of the luminescent hands and hour-markers, the piston-type chronograph pushers and the glass box-type sapphire crystal all evoke the original timepiece.

Exactly like authentic vintage aviation watches, the new Air Command offers two distinct timing modes: a flyback chronograph and a countdown bezel. This model is nonetheless firmly rooted in the 21st century.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm with titanium case

The blue colour of the dial and the ceramic bezel insert endow it with a blend of modernity and elegance. The refinement continues with the sunburst and snailed dial finishes, as well as the alternating satin-brushed and polished finishing on the case.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm with 18k red gold case and blue dial

Housed inside its 36.2 mm diameter is the F188B self-winding movement whose vertical clutch ensures stutter-free activation of the chronograph seconds hand, as well as smooth and optimal stop/start functions.

Equipped with a silicon balance-spring, the movement also features a column-wheel system guaranteeing a smooth feel when starting or ending a measurement and resetting the hands to zero.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm with titanium case

The sapphire crystal case-back of the watch reveals the beauty of this high-end mechanism and its open-worked oscillating weight, adorned with traditional watchmaking finishes such as circular graining, bevelling and snailing.

Blancpain Air Command Flyback Chronograph 36.2mm red gold version

Available in grade 23 titanium or in 18K red gold, the Air Command comes with a blue calf leather strap featuring white stitching.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

Frederique Constant presents the Highlife Ladies Automatic watch in two new sparkling 34 mm versions adorned with yellow gold plating – the first one being fully gold-plated, while the second, two-tone, alternates it with steel. The latter are fitted with the collection’s iconic integrated and interchangeable bracelet and come with an additional white rubber strap.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

By marrying two timeless elements, yellow gold and diamonds, Frederique Constant has created a new Highlife Ladies Automatic timepiece. Its 34 mm case is entirely plated with yellow gold, as are its bracelet, indexes and hands. The dial features eight genuine diamond hour-markers, complemented by a date window at 3 o’clock, the edge of which is also yellow gold-plated.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

To better highlight the rich palette of reflections offered by yellow gold, Frederique Constant has opted for a wide range of finishes alternating between matt and polished surfaces. This is true of the bezel, which is entirely mirror-polished to emphasise the harmony of its perfect circle. It is doubly echoed in the heart of the dial with on one hand the engraved representation of the globe – the aesthetic signature of the Highlife collection – and on the other hand, the ring setting of each diamond, whose brilliance is reflected with infinite purity.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

The delicate curved case is satin-brushed, the angle of which hugs every line of the timepiece, right up to the edge of the caseband where an entirely yellow gold-plated bracelet unfolds. It alternates two satin-finished links with a polished central link.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

This very chic bracelet will have its shock counterpart, with a second strap (delivered with the watch) in white rubber and featuring a yellow gold-plated pin buckle.

At the same time, the Highlife Ladies Automatic has been given a second version. The piece offers both, articulated around a simple principle: all the surfaces previously satin-finished gold-plated are now declined in steel.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

The others remain in mirror-polished yellow gold plating. The result: a superb alternation of tones, metals, finishes and reflections. The steel material plays against the shimmering, brilliant, mirror-polished gold, highlighting its slightest reflections. Like its yellow gold counterpart, this new model also comes with a rubber strap.

Frederique Constant Highlife Ladies Automatic

And for these two timepieces, Frederique Constant has chosen an automatic calibre with a 38-hour power reserve, richly decorated in a spiral pattern and visible through the open case-back.

Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2022: Jewellery and Watches

‘Chopard Loves Cinema’ is the theme chosen by Swiss luxury Maison Chopard to mark its activities at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which corresponds to the jeweller’s 25th participation as an official partner.

On this occasion, Caroline Scheufele has designed a masterful Red Carpet Collection of 75 Haute Joaillerie creations: an epic saga inspired by the grand adventure of cinema from its early black and white charms to its dizzying colours.

This creative abundance draws on her own repertoire and the first models previewed capture the watershed moment when contemporary cinema was born and began to blossom.

Ahead of the full Red Carpet Collection to be staged at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival (17 – 28 May 2022), Caroline Scheufele unveils the first creations. Chopard’s tireless Co-President and Artistic Director’s appetite for life and eclectic tastes drive her prolific inventiveness and a dazzling capacity to arouse jewellery emotions.

Much like a film director, this keen lover of the seventh art has dreamed up a jewellery collection freely inspired by her favourite movies that have had a lasting impact on her, whether by the worlds they portray or certain legendary scenes that have inducted these masterpieces into cinema’s hall of fame.

In tribute to the 75th Cannes Film Festival, no less than 75 Haute Joaillerie creations will compose the collection, whose wonders can be admired on the famous red carpet of the Festival’s preview screenings.

Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2022: Ring in Fairmined-certified ethical 18-carat white and rose gold, aluminium and titanium set with spessartite garnets (13.64 cts), tsavorites (3.23 cts) and diamonds (0.49 ct). Ref. 828341-9001

A stunning “Pumpkin” ring opens a wondrous ball inspired by the Cinderella fairy tale, which has been retold many times on the silver screen. Composed of spessartite garnets and tsavorites, this pumpkin secretly opens to reveal a legendary diamond slipper enabling the beauty to be reunited with her Prince Charming.

A jewel designed like a throwback to childhood and which required nearly 100 hours of expertise, as well as an appeal to the imagination such as only Caroline Scheufele is uniquely able to orchestrate.

Another enchanting vision likewise intended to grace a dainty hand takes the form of a rose-shaped ring with petals exquisitely sculpted from titanium and aluminium covered with pink sapphires.

Chopard Red Carpet Collection 2022: Ring in Fairmined-certified ethical 18-carat white gold, titanium and aluminium set with a 2 ct round-cut diamond, rubies (4.70 cts), pink sapphires (3.13 cts) and diamonds. (0.56 ct). Ref. 828606-9001

They protect a precious two-carat diamond nestling at the heart of the flower, which, while its exhales no perceptible fragrance, will delight the gaze of those who enjoy the privilege of admiring a jewel worthy of the most romantic stage designs.

‘Chopard Loves Cinema’ also features a series of creations whose classicism evokes timeless stories, including a stunning choker entirely crafted from diamonds totalling 204.35 carats, and a ring whose central 4.40 ct emerald is adorned with delicate lacework sparkling with diamonds mingling pear, heart and round cuts.

Finally, a Chopard Haute Joaillerie collection would doubtless not be complete without jewellery watches – one of the Scheufele family’s historic talents.
