Formex Essence 39mm & 41mm Leggera SPACE ROCK Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition

Swiss watch brand Formex presents the new Essence Space Rock Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition timepieces with extraterrestrial dials crafted from the Muonionalusta Meteorite.

Based upon the popular Essence ThirtyNine and Essence Leggera FortyOne, the new Formex Space Rock Limited Edition watches encapsulate the history of our solar system, and they are available with either a 39mm stainless steel case or with an all-black 41mm case made from ultra-lightweight carbon fiber and ceramic. Both watches are individually numbered and limited to just 88 pieces each.

Both versions feature the same detailed hand-finishing as the original Essence model, with an officially COSC-certified mechanical Swiss caliber and Formex’s patented Case Suspension System, which allows the watches to be more comfortable on the wrist.

Formex Essence ThirtyNine (39 mm) Space Rock Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition

The new Formex Essence Space Rock Limited Edition watches are available as both the 39mm Essence ThirtyNine with a 316L stainless steel case, or as the 40% lighter Essence Leggera FortyOne, which features a 41mm carbon fiber composite case that is fitted with a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel and crown.

Formex Essence Leggera FortyOne (41 mm) Space Rock Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition

Formex introduced the larger 43mm versions with meteorite dials back in April 2020, which were limited to 50 pieces and sold out within just a few days. These smaller case sizes are Formex’s best-sellers and they are explicitly intended to be unisex watches.

Applied indices with mirror-polished bevels are deep-filled with brightly glowing Super-LumiNova® BGW9 and provide maximum legibility, regardless of whether it is day or night.

The Formex Essence Space Rock Limited Edition watches are equipped with a Swiss Made, COSC-Certified Chronometer Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement with an extended power reserve of approximately 41 hours.

This highest quality “Chronometer” grade calibre it comes with the Glucydur balance wheel, which is exceptionally hard and stable, in addition to being highly resistant to deformation, non-magnetic, and also non-corrosive.

The fully-decorated automatic movement features thermally blued screws, and it is wound by Formex’s custom-built skeletonized rotor. Each one of these movements is independently certified by the COSC (the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute).

Both versions of the Space Rock Limited Edition feature Formex’s patented Case Suspension System and a deployant clasp made from lightweight carbon fiber, which features a unique gradual fine-adjustment system that is capable of perfectly adapting to the ever-changing size of a person’s wrist due to factors such as heat and humidity.

All straps, including the optional stainless steel bracelet, can be changed within seconds and without the use of any tools by using their built-in quick release systems.

Additionally, the bracelet features screwed links, a new 1.5x link for additional sizing options, plus a unique micro-extension system to match the industry-leading comfort of our leather, rubber, and nylon watch straps.

The Formex Essence Thirty-Nine Space Rock and Essence Leggera FortyOne Space Rock watches are available at the Formex Online Boutique and at selected partners.

Prices start at $1,650.00 for the Essence 39mm in stainless steel and $1,850.00 for the Essence Leggera 41mm in carbon fiber and ceramic.

Owners can select their preferred serial number at the time of purchase, and delivery of all Formex Essence Space Rock Limited Edition watches scheduled to take place by the end of January 2023.

Formex Reef GMT Automatic Chronometer 300M

Swiss watch brand FORMEX presents the new REEF GMT Automatic Chronometer 300M collection.

An evolution of the original REEF diver, the FORMEX REEF GMT blends refined styling with rugged durability. This adventure-ready travel watch displays three different time zones. It still maintains the REEF collection’s robust build quality, patented interchangeable bezel and bracelet systems. The timepiece comes with an exhibition case back to show the beautifully decorated SW330-2 GMT movement.

Its distinctive case shape provides protection for the screw-down winding crown, while also offering a stunning visual symmetry.

Despite now featuring a sapphire display case back and being capable of simultaneously tracking three different time zones, the 42mm case of the new FORMEX REEF GMT Automatic Chronometer 300M still measures just 11.4mm thick, and it also offers an identical water-resistance rating of 300 meters / 1,000 feet.

The new FORMEX REEF GMT features the patented tool-free interchangeable bezel system that first debuted on the REEF diver, and all bezels are interchangeable between the two models. This permits owners to instantly swap out their bezels to customize their watch, or to quickly remove them for easy cleaning. Since the REEF GMT is not explicitly a dive watch, its bezel system has been updated to include a piston ratcheting system that provides it with bidirectional motion.

Additionally, as the bezel itself features a 24-hour scale, it now offers a 48-click design to perfectly correspond with its intended GMT functionality. To ensure maximum durability, the bezels are made from zirconium oxide ceramic or stainless steel with a unique sunburst finish, with engraved 24-hour scales filled with gold and black lacquer or luminous Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A.

FORMEX REEF GMT owners will also have the option to purchase additional bezels separately from the FORMEX Online Boutique.

The FORMEX REEF GMT marks the introduction of a new Milanese mesh bracelet to the collection, further expanding the strap and bracelet possibilities for REEF owners. Unlike traditional mesh bracelet designs, the FORMEX Milanese bracelet includes the same multi-position adjustable clasp that can be found on the bracelet of the REEF dive watch.

Additionally, since the bracelet itself features a screw-in link construction, the actual length can be adjusted to a specific wrist size, allowing owners to take full-advantage of the clasp’s 10mm fine-adjustment extension system.

In addition to the new Milanese mesh bracelet, the REEF GMT will also be available with the option of either the solid-link bracelet from REEF diver, a rubber strap or three new leather straps that feature a carbon fiber composite folding clasp with a patented fine-adjustment system.

The dials and color-matched date wheels fitted to the REEF GMT collection are created entirely in-house by FORMEX’s own dial manufacture, located in the Jura mountains of Switzerland. Each dial requires a complex process of hand-applying individual layers of color on top of a radial sunray finish in order to achieve the subtle Dégradé (gradient) effect that gently darkens towards the outer edge.

The bold rehaut-style hour markers are triangle shaped and hand-applied to the surface of the dial, clearly pointing towards the broad hour and minute hands for maximum legibility. Additionally, each one of the individually finished indexes features the same detailed finishing that can be found on the hands, consisting of beveled mirror-polished edges with brushed top surfaces.

The FORMEX logo is also hand-applied to the dial. All of the hour markers along with each one of the hands are filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A to offer a long-lasting blue glow, even in the darkest of conditions.

The FORMEX REEF GMT is equipped with the Swiss-Made, self-winding Sellita SW330-2 movement. Offerig a power reserve of approximately 56 hours, this automatic calibre is fully decorated, complete with blued screws and a custom-manufactured skeletonized rotor. The Chronometer certified SW330-2 is produced in Sellita’s highest quality grade, and it offers GMT functionality with an independently-adjustable 24-hour hand.

The REEF GMT Automatic Chronometer 300M can be configured on the FORMEX Online Boutique with 6 dial and 6 bezel options, in addition to the choice of either a Milanese mesh bracelet, standard steel link bracelet, or with the option of a NATO strap, a rubber or leather strap fitted with a fine-adjustment buckle.

Prices in the United States start at $1,800.00 and are available for pre-order from the FORMEX Online Boutique and from selected Trusted Partners, with watches scheduled to ship in early August 2022.

Formex Essence Leggera Chronometer Carbon/Ceramic 43mm and 41mm

Swiss watch brand Formex unveils new variants of its best-selling Essence Leggera Collection. Crafted from lightweight carbon and ceramic, the Essence Leggera is light in weight, but heavy in technical features.

The collection is available in the original 43mm size, and on popular demand, in a new, smaller and even lighter 41mm version.

The Leggera Chronometer collection is available (43mm pre-order with delivery end of May / 41mm pre-order with delivery beginning of July 2022) in five dial versions – Forged Carbon, Cool Grey, Electric Blue, Arctic White and Mamba Green, starting at US$ 1,640.00.

The Essence Leggera watch is extremely light, but thanks to the high-tech materials used, it is also strong, hypoallergenic, anti-magnetic and corrosion-resistant.

In addition to reducing the weight by about 40% compared to the steel version, the proprietary carbon fiber composite used in the Leggera’s case gives the watch an extremely smooth feel on the wrist. Made of same material, the folding clasp features a patented, gradual fine-adjustment system that perfectly adapts to the wrist’s ever-changing size due to heat and humidity.

The case of a watch protects the movement, but it has a few vulnerable points – the crown and bezel, for example. With a hardness that surpasses that of any traditional metal used in traditional watchmaking, Formex utilizes Zirconium oxide ceramics on both the bezel and the crown, making them virtually scratchproof.

Four hexagon screws connect the upper and lower case, and hide Formex’s patented 4-fold Case Suspension System, which adapts to the wearer’s movement and increases the comfort on the wrist.

The Swiss Made Sellita SW-200 automatic movement ensures both accuracy and reliability. It comes in its highest quality grade ”Chronometer”, using top of the line components only found in Chronometer-grade movements. It’s beautifully decorated with perlage on the bridges and thermally blued screws on the movement and the custom-made rotor.

Each of the movements undergoes the COSC-certification process, a meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision. Only the movements who pass the stringent assessment will be certified and engraved with a unique serial number. The movements’ power reserve extends to 41 hours.

The new collection includes five dials that are different in looks but all ensure perfect legibility due to the contrast and finishing of hands and hour markers, which are deep filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova lume.

The glossy Cool Grey, sunray Electric Blue, brushed Arctic White and Mamba Green dials are priced at US$ 1,640.00 on a custom NATO strap designed by WatchGecko, and US$ 1,790.00 on Formex’s leather/rubber/nylon strap with their patented carbon clasp.

The Forged Carbon dial, made of an extremely thinly cut Forged Carbon blade, each with an individual pattern, is slightly more expensive at US$ 1,840.00 on a custom NATO strap designed by WatchGecko, and US$1,990.00 on Formex’s leather/rubber/nylon strap.

The Formex Essence Leggera Automatic Chronometer collection is now available for Pre-Order with delivery by the end of May 2022 (43mm) and beginning of July 2022 (41mm version) at the Formex Online Boutique.

Formex Field Automatic 41mm

Formex presents Field Automatic, a new entry level watch collection from the Swiss brand. The 41mm case and crown are made entirely from titanium grade 2. A special hardening treatment increases the Field’s surface hardness from 145 Vickers to approximately 900 Vickers while retaining the light weight, comfort and hypoallergenic properties of titanium.

Since Formex’s new ownership in 2016, the Swiss brand has stepped into the field of premium watches with collections such as the Essence and REEF that are priced above the $1k mark. While those offer COSC-certified movements and multiple patented features, the Formex collection lacked a solid, accessible field watch.

The new collection is Formex’s take of a modern field watch. Rather than just ticking boxes, the Formex Field uses the sturdiest of available materials and a colorful selection of highly legible dials. Case and crown are entirely made of titanium grade 2, a material that is stronger and lighter than stainless steel. Titanium is also extremely hypoallergenic, anti-magnetic and corrosion-resistant. On top of that, a special hardening treatment makes it scratch- and fingerprint resistant.

One of the main features of a field watch is its high contrast dial. Formex offers six different color options that are inspired by vintage machinery; Charcoal, Petrol Blue, Ash Grey, Mahogany Red, Ultra Violet and Sage Green. The numbers and markers are recessed, while the outer chapter section is curved upwards. This gives each dial a visible depth and enhances its legibility. The recessed surfaces and the brushed hands are filled with old radium (100% safe) Super LumiNova that emits a bright yellowish-green at night.

Adding a mere 5g to the case weight of 65g, the nylon velcro straps, available in blue and black, are waterproof and sit comfortably on the wrist. The leather straps, available in five different colors, come with Formex’s carbon composite clasp that adjusts to the ever-changing wrist circumference throughout the day. The built in fine-adjustment system allows to fit the length of the strap in 5 micro steps over 7mm.

The clasp is interchangeable with all leather straps. All straps can be changed without the use of any tools and the Field’s case does allow to mount 3rd party straps with a width of 20mm.

Each Formex Field watch is equipped with a Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement. It provides a power reserve of 38 hours. Made of titanium, the case back comes with an engraved honey-comb pattern.

Fitted with a dive-watch style screw down crown, the Formex Field Automatic watch offers a water resistance of 150 meters.

The Formex Field Automatic collection is available at the Formex Online Boutique on two nylon and five leather straps. Prices start at $795.00 and are ready to ship within a few days after the order has been received.

FORMEX REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M New Models

FORMEX has launched a new snow white dial and a unique tool-less bezel exchange system for their REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M Dive watch collection.

The original REEF that launched just about a year ago already allowed for a tool-less exchange of the steel bracelet and the rubber strap – the new REEF models now also allow to do exactly that with the bezel.

Four ceramic and one steel bezel options are available. This feature makes for a truly versatile underwater timepiece that comes with an officially COSC-certified mechanical Swiss caliber and unique features to increase wrist comfort. Prices start at $1,670.00 and $160.00 for each additional bezel.

With 40 possible configuration options, deciding for the “right fit” just got a little easier. Besides the all tool-less strap exchange, a REEF owner can now also swap the bezel with just a flick on the wrist.

FORMEX engineers developed a one of its kind bezel mounting system that allows to pull out the bezel from the case by hand and exchange it with another of their 4 color options (black, blue, green, steel).

The bezel underwent a re-engineering that followed customer feedback and now has a 120-click unidirectional action with a nylon ring for a noticeably smoother click. The bezel-insert is made of an extremely hard and scratch-resistant Zirconium oxide ceramic. The graduations and numbers are engraved by femto-laser pulsations. Machined gear-like indentations on the bezel’s edge allow a diver the ideal grip to safely set and monitor diving time and decompression stops.

The 42mm stainless-steel case with its distinctive shape provides both a functional guard for the screw-down crown and a stunning visual symmetry alike. A double gasket construction is designed and tested for 300 m / 1000 ft of water resistance. Mirror-polished bevels and brushed surfaces throughout create a unique balance between elegance and the brand’s high-octane spirit.

After the successful launch of the white dial Essence collection in March 2021, the FORMEX community has been asking to give the REEF the same treatment. Manufacturing those dials at FORMEX’s in-house dial manufacture in the Jura mountains allows the company to be responsive to customer feedback. To enhance legibility, the triangle shaped applied indices, the broad hour and minute hands and the sweeping seconds hand are kept in black, but all share the same detailed beveled mirror polish and brushed top surface finishing.

The Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 lume on these black dial elements provide contrast on daytime, and a strong long-lasting blue glow in dark conditions. Being able to read the time with absolute certainty is a matter of survival when diving.
Powering the hands is a self-winding Swiss Made SW300 with date that comes in Sellita’s highest quality grade ”Chronometer”, using top of the line components only found in Chronometer-grade movements.

FORMEX purposely chose this thin movement as it allowed to construct the REEF at just 11.4mm thickness and a perceived height of 9.4mm. Each of the movements undergoes the COSC-certification process, a meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.

Only the movements who pass the stringent assessment will be certified and engraved with a unique serial number. The movements’ power reserve extends to approximately 42 hours.

The REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M can be configured on the FORMEX Online Boutique with 5 dial and 4 bezel options as well as a stainless-steel bracelet and a rubber strap.

Both the solid-link bracelet and the strap feature a buckle with a patented fine-adjustment. In the US, the collection is now in stock an available starting at $1,670.00 on the FORMEX Online Boutique and selected Trusted Partners.

Formex Essence FortyThree Automatic Chronometer

Formex unveils the new Essence FortyThree Automatic Chronometer watch. Rather than just a dial makeover, the new Essence FortyThree comes with several updates and new dial options.

One of the Essence’s most defining features is the dial with its vertical brush finish and the distinctive horizontal lines. To achieve the crisp and sharp angles, each line has been CNC-machined into the dial base individually. The new Essence 43 mm now also features the updated Formex branding with an applied logo and a date wheel that matches the dial color.

The green dial and a matching green leather strap are now available for the 43 mm version, after it’s been initially introduced with the smaller Essence ThirtyNine model. A new white dial is also available for both Essence sizes. Zooming in on its matt surface will reveal that the applied indices and hands are in polished black to mark a clear contrast and increase its overall legibility.

While the original Essence leather- and rubber straps came with a double-action-butterfly clasp, the updated version now includes a single-action-deployant clasp that hides the over-length of the strap on the inside, making strap keepers redundant.

The clasp that is made of an in-house developed ultra-lightweight carbon fiber composite with a steel buckle features a patented gradual Fine-Adjustment System of 7mm which can be activated while wearing the watch on the wrist. The clasp and straps are interchangeable and removable without the use of any tools.

Driving the hands is a Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 self-winding movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. This chronometer grade calibre comes with premium components such as a Glucydur balance wheel which is exceptionally hard and stable, very resistant to deformation, non-magnetic, and non-corrosive.

The movement is beautifully decorated, has thermally blued screws and is wound by Formex’s custom-built skeletonized rotor. Each one of these movements is certified by the COSC (the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute) and undergoes the meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision.

The Essence’s stainless steel case with hand-finished mirror-polished bevels has been kept in its original, unique shape. The tested and proven patented Case Suspension System provides shock absorption and adapts to the wearer’s wrist motion, underlining the brand’s focus on comfort and everyday wearability.

The highly articulated steel bracelet with screwed links and mirror polished chamfers has been updated with Formex’s new logo. Although the butterfly buckle is integrated into the bracelet and feels seamless to the touch, it hides a unique Micro-Extension System that allows to extend the length of the bracelet be just about half a link. Similar to the leather- and rubber straps, the Essence steel bracelet can be removed without the use of any tools.

Alongside the updated Essence FortyThree, the new white dial is also available in the smaller 39 mm case version. Both collections are now available at the Formex Online Store and at trusted partners starting at $1,280.00.

While the dials in black, blue, green and brown dégradé are available from stock, the white dial watches are available for pre-order with a delivery shortly thereafter.

Formex REEF Automatic Chronometer COSC 300M

Swiss watch brand Formex has announced the release of its new REEF Automatic Chronometer COSC 300M Dive watch, which also marks a complete rebranding of the Biel/Bienne based manufacturer.

This new model, equipped with an officially COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement, this brand new diving watch successfully alliances the quality and engineering of their popular Essence watch with the brand’s sports character.

©Formex Watch SA

This new dive watch also represents a complete overhaul of the Formex branding. It’s been five years since Raphael Granito, a Biel/Bienne native, took over Formex and infuses the brand with knowhow, materials and engineered features from high-end watch manufacturing.

©Formex Watch SA

By presenting a new logo that resonates with the new identity and quality of the most recent collections, Formex certainly also responds to feedback received by their community. The new icon shows Formex’s signature hexagon screw, a stylized F and X combined to an infinity loop that represents the commitment to manufacturing long-lasting quality timepieces.

©Formex Watch SA

Offering 32 possible configuration options, Formex’ new REEF Automatic Chronometer is a versatile dive watch. The 42mm stainless-steel case with its distinctive shape provides both a functional guard for the screw-down crown and a stunning visual symmetry alike. A double gasket construction is designed and tested for 300 m / 1000 ft of water resistance. Mirror-polished bevels and brushed surfaces throughout create a unique balance between elegance and the brand’s energetic spirit.

©Formex Watch SA

The REEF’s unidirectional rotatable bezel is made of an extremely hard and scratch-resistant Zirconium oxide ceramic. The graduations and numbers are engraved by femto-laser pulsations. Each bezel takes 60 minutes of precision engraving to achieve its three-dimensional effect.

Machined gear-like indentations on the bezel’s edge allow a diver the ideal grip to safely set and monitor diving time and decompression stops. The 60 click action is responsive and smooth, yet offers firm and precise function of the bezel.

©Formex Watch SA

The sunray finished dial is manufactured at Formex’s in-house dial manufacture in the Jura Mountains. The gradient for the different colors is sprayed by hand. The REEF’s bold rehaut-style hour markers are also hand-applied and triangle shaped, pointing towards the broad hour and minute hands that share the same detailed beveled mirror polish and brushed top surface finishing.

©Formex Watch SA

Hands and hour markers as well as a capsule on the bezel’s zero marker are deep-filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9that emits a long-lasting blue glow in dark conditions. Being able to read the time with absolute certainty is a matter of survival when diving.

©Formex Watch SA

The REEF Automatic watch is powered by a chronometer grade self-winding Swiss Made SW300 with date. This thin movement also allowed construct the REEF at just 11.4mm thickness and a perceived height of 9.4mm.

©Formex Watch SA

Each of the movements undergoes the COSC-certification process, a meticulous 15-day rate test to ensure extraordinary levels of mechanical accuracy and precision. Only the movements who pass the stringent assessment will be certified and engraved with a unique serial number. The movements’ power reserve extends to approximately 42 hours.

©Formex Watch SA

The REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M can be configured on the Formex Online Boutique with each 4 dial and bezel options as well as a stainless-steel bracelet and a rubber strap. Both the solid-link bracelet and the strap feature a buckle with a patented fine-adjustment system as well as a completely re-engineered and patented quick release system that allows swapping straps without the use of any tools.

The collection is now available starting at $1,670.00 for limited pre-order and will be delivered in December 2020.

Formex Essence Space Rock Automatic Chronometer COSC Limited Edition

The Formex Essence Space Rock Automatic Chronometer watch features a meteorite dial made of an extraterrestrial rock called Muonionalusta, which impacted in northern Scandinavia about one million years BCE.

©Formex Watch SA

The collection, featuring the tested and proven patented Formex features and a COSC certified Swiss Made Automatic movement, is limited to each 50 pieces.

©Formex Watch SA

To make the dial, special machining and treatment is required to reveal the distinctive characteristic of this iron meteorite. The beautiful equilateral triangles that create the Widmanstätten pattern is a result of very slow cooling over millions of years, whereas the crystalline structure of the minerals within the core of the asteroid changes.

The final product is a disc of 30.7mm in diameter and 0.65 mm thickness. Since the textures are organic and cannot be artificially reproduced, each single dial is a completely unique piece.

©Formex Watch SA

The Formex Essence Space Rock is available in the Essence stainless steel case or the carbon fiber composite case with ceramic bezel and crown. Each timepiece houses a Chronometer grade, COSC certified Automatic Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 (Steel version) or the identical STP1-11 (Carbon version) movement.

©Formex Watch SA

Both versions feature the patented Case Suspension System and a folding clasp made of carbon fiber, with a unique fine-adjustment system that perfectly adapts to the wrist’s ever changing size due to heat and humidity.

The sapphire crystal case back affords the view of the self-winding movement beating inside this watch.

©Formex Watch SA

The suggested retail price of this Formex watch is 1’450.00 USD for the steel version and 1’980.00 USD for the carbon fiber version.

The Leggera Chronometer is available in three new dial versions – Forged Carbon, Cool Grey and Electric Blue.

©Formex Watch SA

The case of the Essence Leggera Chronometer is one of the lightest, most comfortable watch cases available.  In addition to reducing the weight by about 40%, the proprietary carbon fiber composite used in the Leggera’s case gives the watch an extremely smooth feel.

©Formex Watch SA

The same material is used for the completely re-engineered folding clasp, which features a unique fine-adjustment system that perfectly adapts to the wrist’s ever-changing size due to heat and humidity.

©Formex Watch SA

With a hardness that surpasses that of any traditional metal used in traditional watchmaking, Formex utilizes Zirconium oxide ceramics on both the bezel and the crown, making them virtually scratchproof. Four hexagon screws connect the upper and lower case. Formex’s patented 4-fold Case Suspension System acts as a shock absorber for the watch, cushioning and mitigating any potential jolts or shocks to the movement.

©Formex Watch SA

Inside each Essence Leggera timepiece, beats a Chronometer grade, COSC certified Swiss Made STP1-11 automatic movement ensuring both accuracy and reliability.

©Formex Watch SA

Formex has chosen BGW9-Super LumiNova to ensure perfect legibility both day and night. Three Formex Essence Leggera models are now available. The Cool Grey and Electric Blue models are priced at $1,680.

©Formex Watch SA

The Forged Carbon dial, made of an extremely thinly cut Forged Carbon blade, whereas every single dial has a unique pattern) is slightly more expensive at $1,880 US. Prices include international express courier shipping, all taxes and duties, a 30-day return & refund policy and a 3-year warranty.

Formex Element Collection

Swiss watch brand Formex presents its latest watch collection Element, which offers a line of affordable high-end watches made in Switzerland using high-tech materials and cutting-edge technologies.

From micro-components to the case body, Formex designers and engineers chose the best materials for every building block of the watch.

The watch is fitted with a scratch-proof high-tech ceramic bezel. The deep black ceramic bezel is made of zirconium oxide, a high-tech ceramic that is approximately seven times harder, but two thirds lighter than steel. To produce it, a special powder is pressed at 1550 bar and heated up to 1,550°C. Its superior hardness and solidity make it virtually impervious to scratches.

Four CNC milling and grinding operations are executed to reach the final shape. The vertical satin finish on top and the mirror polish on the side of the bezel are achieved by using diamond-studded high precision finishing tools.

©Formex Watch SA

With the 46mm case made of the toughest 316L stainless steel and composed of 38 individual components, the complex watch case resists water depths of up to 100m. Hand-finished with flawless precision and craftsmanship, the watch comes alive with facets of brushed, mirror-polished and sandblasted surfaces, elevating the powerful shapes and elegant lines of the case.

With its patented case suspension system, protecting the watch’s movement from heavy impacts and adding to the comfort on the wrist by adapting to the wearer’s movements, this system has been an integral part of Formex timepieces since the very beginning of the brand.

©Formex Watch SA

The anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the laser-engraved case back offers a view of the legendary Valjoux 7750 self-winding chronograph movement with a 42-hour power reserve.

On the dial, the chronograph counters with hints of red and the 60 second scale on the flange emphasize the brand’s origins as a motorsport watch manufacturer. The base satin finish matches the bezel’s top and powerful SuperLuminova on the hands and the machined indexes ensure perfect readability, even in the darkest environment.

©Formex Watch SA

The ELEMENT can be worn on either a black or brown leather crocodile-embossed strap with stitching of the same color or a black oiled leather strap with white stitching, both made of Italian calf-leather.

Another distinguishing feature is the ultra-strong and light-weight folding clasp, made of carbon fiber composite and a stainless-steel cover. This durable clasp has an easy to use, patented fine-adjustment, allowing that perfect fit on the wrist in all conditions.

©Formex Watch SA

These watches are now available for purchase directly from Formex online store. The ELEMENT collection consists of the ELEMENT Full Steel (£995) and the ELEMENT Ceramic Bezel (£1190), both available with black or white dial.

The ELEMENT collection is available on pre-order. First orders will ship November 1st, 2017.
