Festina 120th Anniversary Limited Edition

Festina celebrates its 120th anniversary by launching a limited edition comprising two automatic watches dedicated to men and women.

Made of stainless steel, the case measures 41.50 mm diameter in case of men’s version and 34mm in case of women’s model. These Swiss made watches are equipped with the Newton P092 calibre, a patented self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Soprod, a Festina group company.

Protected by a scratch-proof sapphire crystal glass, the ocean-blue dial features line-style hour markers, the Festina logo at 12 o’clock and a dial opening at 6 o’clock to reveal the flywheel of the movement.

The Soprod P092 Newton movement is also visible through the transparent case back, which reveals also not only the oscillating weight but also the beautifully Côtes de Genève decorated blue rotor and the Festina logo. Moreover, this automatic movement comes with a 44-hour power reserve, 23 jewels and the Incabloc dual-cone impact protection.

The screw-down case back has the inscription “1902 Festina 2022” to celebrate the major anniversary of the historic Swiss watch brand, which now belongs to one of the largest watchmaking business groups in the world.

The silver-coloured stainless-steel case features a fluted bezel. Each Festina 120th Anniversary watch is fitted with a navy blue crocodile-effect leather strap.

Festina Swiss Made 2020 Collection

The launch of the Festina Swiss Made collection in 2019 was a great success. The Spanish brand, known for its quality watches with Miyota movements, rose to the challenge of presenting an entirely “Swiss Made” collection, fitted with Swiss movements and assembled in Switzerland, as mandated by the Swiss label.

The new Swiss Made 2020 collection shares the same attributes as its predecessor of 2019. Following the concept of pair watches, the brand presents a minimalist case design with a 2 hands & date movement, in both stainless steel and gold plated IP versions.

The men’s case is 39.30mm in diameter and the women’s is 29.30mm. The new models with Swiss movement, sapphire glass and a 50m (5 BAR) water resistance and are available with several strap types: black, brown or blue leather, mesh and the classic steel bracelet, according to the consumer’s taste.

The “full steel” versions with more subtle coloured dials, have a half matt and half polished finish that gives a more original look. Apart from the obligatory black dial, the silicon versions are more daring with vivid dial colours such as yellow, orange or light blue.

The 2020 collection presents two versions of the Special Edition. Both with hardened mineral glass, the F20524 is made of stainless steel with a dark blue IP treatment and the F20525 is the black version.

In both cases the details of the watch, such as: the indexes, the needles, the sub-dials, the push-buttons and some details on the bracelet, are made of steel with a copper coloured IP finish.

The most exclusive Chrono Bike in the collection, the Limited Edition F20527 / 1 is available in 5000 numbered pieces. This model is made of stainless steel with a Gun Metal IP treatment and boasts a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. In addition, it includes an interchangeable black silicon strap as a gift and the tool to be able to change it at home.

Timeline

  • 1980: The group starts operating in Spain with the Lotus Brand.
  • 1984: The Festina watch Brand – founded in Switzerland in 1902 – is acquired.
  • 1985: Lotus launches its first lunar phase watch, affordable for every pocket and becoming a huge success in terms of sales.
  • 1989: Jaguar Brand is acquired.
  • 1993: Expansion of the group with the opening of a subsidiary in France.
  • 1994: Opening of a subsidiary in Italy. Festina becomes the Official Timer of the Tour de France.
  • 1995: Festina successfully launches a watch made from titanium, a new non allergic material, light and resistant.

  • 1998: Festina becomes official timekeeper for different international cycling events.
  • 1999: Festina launches its own gold collection under the name “Festina Oro”.
  • 2000: Creation of a production unit in Cordoba for the manufacture of cases and bracelets for gold watches.
  • 2002: FESTINA 100 YEARS. Presentation of the “Century Edition”: To mark the celebration of Festina’s 100th anniversary the brand launches a special collection that combines the traditional watch making with complications (automatics with power reserve) and the actual quartz technology. Festina continues believing in the combination of tradition and modernity. Purchase of Holding Candino, a Swiss watch-making company.
  • 2003: Launch of Lotus 2gether in Spain. It is an exceptional collection that combines a woman’s watch and a jewel; this was the previous step before launching the new brand called Lotus Style. Candino becomes the official partner of the Trimaran Banque Covefi (Stève Ravussin) and official timekeeper of some outstanding European Tennis Tournaments. Sponsor of Formula GT-FIA: “Force One Festina”.
  • 2004: Lotus starts as official co-sponsor of the Fortuna Honda 250cc motorcycling team. Launch of Lotus in France, Germany and Czech Republic. Launch of Lotus Style in Spain, steel jewels brand.
  • 2005: Launch of Lotus in Italy, and Lotus Style in France, Italy and Germany. Candino becomes the official chronograph of World Nordic Skiing Championship in Oberstdorf.
  • 2006: Opening of a subsidiary in Belgium. Lotus co-sponsor of the Fortuna Aprilia team, world 250cc motorcycling champion with pilot Jorge Lorenzo.
  • 2007: Lotus as official co-sponsor of the Fortuna-Aprilia, is world 250cc motorcycling bi-champion with pilot Jorge Lorenzo for the second time. Launch of the Lotus Code collection.
  • 2008: 70th anniversary of Jaguar brand, founded by Swiss entrepreneur Peter Haas. Consolidation of the Group in Latin America with the opening of a subsidiary in Mexico. Launch of the collections for women Festina Milano and Lotus Lady Cool. International launch of the Lotus Code collection that favours the brand positioning on this field. Lotus is present, for the first time, on the 3 categories of the MotoGP Championship.
  • 2014: The brand celebrates its twenty-first anniversary as the Official Timekeeper of the Tour de France. Further, the brand appoints veteran cycling champion Richard Virenque as Festina Brand Ambassador. He will latest campaign for a collection of Festina chronographs dedicated to cycling

FESTINA unveils the Chrono Bike F16776/1 Limited Edition, a sporty, energetic and vibrant 44 mm diameter chronograph in stainless steel case fitted with scratch resistant sapphire glass. Additionally the 2014 Limited Edition has special details that make it a very singular piece; for example it’s bezel with the IP black and burnt copper treatment that adds durability. The watch is completed by a stainless steel bracelet with burnt copper IP treatment. About Chrono Bike Collection 2014 
As part of the constant evolution of Festina’s strong alliance with the cycling world the Festina Group, the new Chrono Bike collection pays tribute to the most important bike race, the Tour de France. The unmistakable characteristics of the Chrono Bike collection can be found in the new F16774 and F16775 models but the 2014 edition is, design-wise, surprising to say the least. These men’s chronographs incorporate a quartz movement, a triple layered anti-reflection mineral glass and a 44 mm stainless steel case.
