Swiss watchmaker Edox has launched a new model to its SkyDiver series that honours an iconic collection.
The original Edox SkyDiver was a military-themed tool watch made in the 1960s and 1970s. Its modern counterpart is now a mainstay of the Edox watch family. Now the Swiss brand introduces the new SkyDiver Bronze Date Automatic watch (80126 BRN BUIDR).
Measuring 42mm diameter, the rose-coloured bronze case is beautifully complemented by an elegant slate grey/blue dial.
The Edox SkyDiver Bronze Date Automatic oozes a classic vintage dress watch vibe, but it is still built tough. Large, Super-LumiNova-coated indices and hands hark back to the easy-to-read, dial displays of military watches. The unidirectional outer ceramic scratch-resistant bezel provides a practical tool for divers up to 30 ATM.
Beating inside the watch, the Edox Calibre 80 automatic movement is made by Swiss movement manufacturer Sellita.
The SkyDiver Bronze Date Automatic is fitted with a brown leather strap. An additional black leather strap is provided in a leather pouch.

Swiss watch brand Edox has released the Delfin Diver Date Lady Special Edition watch to mark its partnership with Marianna Gillespie, the world No.1 female freediver.
The current French national record holder in multiple disciplines, Marianna has been world champion four times, ranked No. 1 in the world six times and has also won the prestigious Vertical Blue competition. Known as ‘the mermaid from the East’, Marianna is one of the world’s strongest freedivers, ranked not only in the world top 10 in multiple individual disciplines but overall. Marianna Gillespie is a brand ambassador of Edox.
First introduced in 1961, the innovative Edox Delfin with its patented double O-ring system and reinforced case, set the benchmark for water-resistant watches. The patented double seal meant that even with the crown open the Delfin was water-resistant. The watch was a smash hit, and Edox forged a name as the Water Champion.
The new Edox Delfin Special Edition, like the original, is water-resistant to 200 meters. Its Caribbean-blue dial is set with 12 shimmering diamonds and protected by a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
The stainless steel case measures 38mm. Its flexible lugs allow comfortable fitting on either small or larger wrists. The striking, 12-sided shaped bezel harks back to a distinctive design first introduced by Edox in 1973. In low light, or under the water, the time can be clearly read thanks to the Super-LumiNova-coated hands.

Swiss watch brand Edox marks the 60th anniversary of its iconic Delfin series.
In 1961, Edox launched an exceptional diver’s watch with a patented double O-ring system and a reinforced, pressure-resistant case. Shock-proof and 200m water resistant, Delfin set a new benchmark in water-resistant timepieces.
Now Edox honours “The Water Champion’’ with the Delfin Mecano 60th Anniversary Limited Edition. The new anniversary edition not only goes deeper than the 1961 original (300m water-resistance this time); it also sports some impressive design features and technical improvements.
It boasts an open-worked dial with a distinct rotor design. The Super Luminova coated hands and indices allow reading off the time in low light. The watch houses a skeletonized self-winding movement made in Switzerland.
The Delfin Mecano 60th Anniversary Limited Edition watch is fitted with a stylish 12-sided bezel, a distinctive design that Edox first introduced into its watches in 1973. Each side of the bezel represents one-hour increments. The 43mm diameter stainless steel watch case is coated with black-grey PVD for a beautiful feel on the wrist.
Its transparent, fully screwed case back is protected by scratch-resistant anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The moveable lugs allow the wearer to adjust the fit precisely.

Hydro-Sub, the iconic Edox diving watch from the 1960s, is making a spectacular return with a new chronometer.
The Hydro-Sub Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition blends its new, improved and contemporary characteristics with the timelessly cool DNA of the original 1960s Hydro-Sub.
The new watch is available in a limited edition of 500 pieces, engraved with “one out of 500” on the case back. It has a water-resistance of 300m. The innovations that made the original Hydro-Sub so impressive, such as the screw-down crown with double O-ring seal, have been retained and perfected.
This time though the unidirectional bezel with 60-minute diving scale surrounding the dial is made out of scratch-resistant ceramic. A 2.5mm-thick crystal sapphire with anti-reflective coating on BOTH sides ensures a crystal-clear view of the dial.
The instantly recognizable lines of the original 1965 timepiece are carried through to the Edox Hydro-Sub Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition, from the ‘blocky’ lugs to the vintage-inspired central handset, which includes a long triangular seconds pointer. The dial indices and minute and hour hands are coated with Super-LumiNova.
The Hydro-Sub Automatic Chronometer Limited Edition’s design is clean and practical, focusing on the essentials and discarding unnecessary ‘clutter’. The solid steel bracelet echoes the original Hydro-Sub’s bracelet. Even this has been improved, the matt satin-finish links more precisely aligned and with a smoother finish, ensuring a perfect fit on the wrist. Two pushers easily release the buckle.
The new Hydro-Sub watch comes with a tough, hand-polished 42mm steel case. It is equipped with the Edox automatic Calibre 80. Made by Swiss movement manufacturer Sellita, it provides a 38-hour power reserve. This timepiece meets the strict conditions set by Swiss chronometer testing body COSC.

The new SkyDiver Limited Edition honours the Edox heritage of classic models designed for paratroopers and the military in the 1960s and 1970s. This new timepiece combines the practical functionality of a dive watch and the style and aesthetics of a precision pilot’s watch.
The beautiful case, black dial, striking indices, oversized crown and domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal faithfully reflect a SkyDiver watch designed by Edox in the 1960s. The black dial reflects the precision instruments that once accompanied adventurers conquering land, sea or air.
But the materials and construction of the contemporary SkyDiver Limited Edition are pure 21st century. Military styling runs right through the SkyDiver’s DNA, from its semi-matt finish dial to the solid case back proudly portraying the emblem of a paratrooper unit.
The SkyDiver Limited Edition complements its rugged military vibe with practical functionality for any adventure, be it on land, sea or in the air, including a ceramic, scratch-resistant diving bezel and water-resistance to 300m.
The hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova in beige, another vintage touch, and there’s also a date window at three o’ clock. The SkyDiver Limited Edition is equipped with the Edox Calibre 80 automatic movement, manufactured by Swiss specialist Sellita.
Limited to 600 pieces, the hand-assembled timepiece features a carefully crafted stainless steel case, beautifully offset by a soft leather strap. The buyer also get a choice of two straps, easily swapped via the smartly designed but simple to operate quick-release spring bars on the watch lugs.

In 2008, Edox presented the Edox Chronorally, a revolutionary chronograph with new, sophisticated technical functions originally developed for rally drivers.
This watch was able to measure up to twelve different lap times in analog and accumulate them electromechanically. The characteristic watch with the oversized start and stop pusher quickly became a public favorite and is still a highlight of the Edox collection today.
EDOX CHRONORALLY X-TREME PILOT
BMW drivers will wear Edox Chronorally chronographs in titanium, steel and carbon in connection with this partnership. Edox Chronorally watches are assembled by hand in Les Genevez, Switzerland.
Alexandre Strambini, Chief Executive Officer Edox Swiss Watches, says: ‘‘Edox has a passion for motorsport in all its facets. Swiss watch brand Edox has announced an exciting new partnership with world champion freediver Marianna Gillespie.
The partnership is a natural fit for Edox; the independent watchmaker is known as the Water Champion of the Swiss watch industry and Marianna is a champion in her own right in the exciting, challenging, sport of freediving. The 31-year-old Russian-born Frenchwoman, ranked world No.1 freediver four times and world champion twice, will become an ambassador for the iconic Edox Delfin diver’s watch collection.
Marianna will also become a product advisor to the independent Swiss watchmaker, helping with practical, product- specific guidance to further refine the Edox family of superb diving watches. Edox also plans to present a women’s collection, including a limited edition with diamonds, especially created for Marianna.
The Edox Delfin collection was first introduced in 1961. It was the first watch to use the Double O-ring system which, with a reinforced case back, gave it 200m water resistance – an astonishing achievement 60 years ago. Six decades later, the Delfin collection is still one of the stars of the Edox watch family.
An accomplished swimmer from an early age, Marianna grew up in Moscow. She fell in love with the sport of freediving during her final year of studies at the Russian State Sports University when a friend challenged her to swim 25 metres underwater – without fins. She swam 75m and hasn’t looked back in the sport since.
While most free-divers strive to master a single discipline, Marianna dominates several – in depth and the pool. The current French national record holder in multiple disciplines, Marianna has been world champion twice, ranked No. 1 in the world four times and has also won the prestigious Vertical Blue competition.
Dubbed ‘the mermaid from the East’ by the Le Parisien newspaper, Marianna is one of the world’s strongest freedivers, ranked not only in the world top 10 in multiple individual disciplines but overall as well.
The SkyDiver Neptunian automatic watch is a modern interpretation of the legendary Edox SkyDiver watch introduced in 1973. This year, the brand added an Orange dial version of this high-performance diving instrument.
Water-resistant to an incredible 1’000m, the SkyDiver Neptunian is built ultra-tough to handle not only the pressures of the deep but, thanks to its strong and durable stainless-steel case, anything on the surface as well. A 3mm-thick sapphire crystal protects the classic, clean dial encircled by a ceramic bezel. The case back features a striking engraving of Neptune, the Roman God of the Sea.
The SkyDiver Neptunian’s Super Luminova X1-coated hands and indices ensure exceptional dial visibility in low light – or under water. To enhance even more the readability, the new dial is coloured in orange, one of the most visible colors below water.
This professional grade diving watch incorporates a built-in helium escape valve. The SkyDiver Neptunian’s Automatic Calibre 80 movement offers 42-hour power reserve.
Rumoured to be launched following a Swiss colonel secret request in 1973, the SkyDiver collection pays tribute to paratroopers and the extreme conditions they might face – on land, air or sea.

Nearly 50 years ago, boutique Swiss watchmaker Edox launched the legendary SkyDiver, a rugged sports timepiece created especially for an elite group of paratroopers. Now, with the release of the SkyDiver Neptunian, Edox gives its 1973 watch classic a thoroughly modern makeover while still staying true to its historic legacy.
Water-resistant to an incredible 1,000m, the SkyDiver Neptunian is built ultra-tough to handle not only the pressures of the deep but, thanks to its strong and durable stainless-steel case, anything on the surface as well. A 3mm-thick sapphire crystal protects the classic, clean dial encircled by a ceramic bezel and the case back features a striking engraving of Neptune, the Roman God of the Sea.
The SkyDiver Neptunian’s SuperLuminova X1-coated hands and indices ensure incredible visibility. This 44mm diameter professional dive watch also features a built-in helium escape valve. The Automatic Calibre 80 movement provides 42-hour power reserve.
Introduced in the 1960s, the Edox Delfin was the first watch to use the ‘Double O ring» system which, with a reinforced case back, gave it 200m water resistance.
Now, with the new Delfin Mecano, boutique Swiss watchmaker brings a 21st Century twist to this legendary wristwatch.
The Delfin Mecano is forged from the same DNA as its brilliant 1960s predecessor, able to function perfectly at up to 200m deep, thanks to the Double O-ring ‘seals’ and the screw-down crown. Edox has given the watch face an eye-catching makeover with a skeletonised dial and movement exposing some of the intricate motions of the Automatic Calibre 853.
Irrespective of the light conditions, the Delfin Mecano’s display is always crystal clear, thanks to the SuperLuminova coating on the hands. The transparent case back reveals the self-winding mechanical movement, which provides up to 42 hours of power reserve.
This new Delfin watch features a 43mm diameter stainless steel case. The 12-sided bezel which beautifully frames the skeletonised dial reflects the shape of Delfin watch bezels from the 1970s.
Celebrating its role as timing partner of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Swiss watch brand Edox has created the new limited edition Chronorally X-Treme Pilot (555 pieces worldwide), perfect timekeeping accessory in a sport where split-second timing is critical to success.
It’s big and bold with a 48mm titanium case and packed with an array of chronograph functions, all controlled by a Calibre 38s movement. The iconic, oversized pushers at two o’clock and four o’clock allow the wearer – even with driving gloves – to measure lap times with exquisite precision.
The green-and-yellow dial, evoking the dashboard controls of a rally car, allows functions such as tachymeter, the 1/10 chronograph, retrograde day and big date window to stand out with maximum visibility. Coating the hands and indices with Superluminova ensures the Chronorally X-Treme Pilot goes the extra mile for readability, whatever the conditions.
Weighing just 130 grams, water-resistant to 100m and with a robust sapphire crystal to protect that striking dial, the Chronorally X-Treme Pilot continues Edox’s long association with the very best in motorsport, be it on asphalt, dirt, sand or the snow.
The yellow-stitched leather strap and car-wheel case back add the perfect finishing touches to a timepiece that seamlessly blends form and functionality infused with the DNA of motorsport.
The Skydiver Military is a tribute to a military watch commissioned by Edox for a Swiss colonel for an elite mountain paratrooper formation under his command. As this was a highly secretive project, the details about the Skydiver Military watch were not accessible to public till date.
A mysterious drawing found in the archives of Swiss watchmaker Edox has rekindled this decades-old mystery. The sketch of a long-lost timepiece, the SkyDiver, had a scrawled note reading: “1973 Special production in strictly limited edition.” It is said that on August 1 1973, the Edox SkyDiver was handed over to each paratrooper at a ceremony in the Swiss Alps.
Now Edox is releasing a new SkyDiver, in homage to its 135-year history and for aficionados of fine military timepieces. Powered by an automatic three-hand Swiss movement calibre 80, the 300m water-resistant SkyDiver features a divers’ bezel and a parachute motif-engraved case back.
The 2mm-thick sapphire crystal and the Superluminova X1 on hands and indexes will guarantee scratch resistance and readability in the most extreme conditions. Like its mysterious 1970s predecessor, the 2019 SkyDiver is a strictly limited edition to 555 pieces.
Presented in a special leather pouch, with an additional vintage leather strap, the SkyDiver will be a beautiful vintage military look collectors’ item.

Forged from tough but lightweight titanium, Sharkman III is rated to withstand water pressure down to a crushing 1000m. Absolute accuracy while underwater is assured thanks to the special double o-ring patented Edox gasket for the crown and pushers.
Tough and durable, the Sharkman III’s 4mm-thick scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects a dial packed with functionality, including chronograph sub-dials and date window. A ceramic, scratch-resistant unidirectional bezel allows divers to mark off their dive times.
To ensure readability at such depth, the hands and indexes are covered with a high standard of night visibility in the watchmaking industry – Superluminova X1. Before being released, every Sharkman III is subject to Edox’s meticulous quality controls in real water.
The Sharkman III is a beautiful example of Edox’s commitment to the Swiss watchmaking craft, from hand-assembling to technical innovation and clean, functional design. The case back of this professional diving watch features an engraved message – “Face Your Fears”.

Edox watch company was founded in 1884 by a very talented watch maker, Christian Ruefly-Flury in Biel-Bienne. In 1900 he selected, “the Hour Glass” as the official symbol (logo) of Edox watches. In 1921 after the death of Christian Ruefly-Flury, the company was took over by Robert Haufmann Hug.
In 1950 Edox moved into new and larger production facilities. In 1961, Edox launched world famous Delfin watch. In 1983 Victor Strambini took over the control of the company by buying shares from ASUAG and the company was moved to Jura Region of Switzerland. Since 1983, Edox has been a family owned independent watch company. In 1998 Edox developed world’s slimmest calendar watch.

History of Edox watch brand
Since its foundation in 1884 in Biel, Switzerland, the brand Edox is the symbol of elegance, dynamism and excellent technical competence.
In 1884 the watchmaker Christian Rüefli-Flury, originated from the Swiss watch town Grenchen, established his own watch manufacture. Biel was his preferred place of business. A new chapter of Swiss watchmaking art led off in this flourishing watch town. Rüefli was a very experienced and talented watchmaker. Nobody else refined raw materials with such an exquisite taste like him. A few times later Rüefli took out a patent for the brand Edox and the sand-glass. Edox: a remarkable name, easily to pronounce in each language and short enough to decorate the dial of pocket watches with style and elegance. Edox, originated from the ancient Greek, means “the hour”.
After the death of the founder in 1921, the factory devolved upon the banker Robert Kaufmann-Hug. This new, modern thinking man on the top of the company realized very quickly, that the time-honoured pocket watch will soon be replaced by the wrist watch. Edox was the only watch manufacture of the world, which concentrated its production only on wrist watches. Conscious of this new development on the market, the brand Edox became more successful and was transformed in a limited company in 1927. After the second world war the demand for Edox watches incredibly increased. Thanks to a very high production and well placed investments the most technical developed watch manufacture has been built in spring 1955.
In 1961 Edox engineers developed a water-resistant, patented crown system, based on a double waterproof joint. Thanks to this revolutionary waterproof system the crown needn’t to be screwed and guarantees a simple and comfortable handling. This technical innovation, as well as a double casing bottom are the main parts of a water-resistant and athletic watch collection, called „Delfin“. The “Delfin” is water-resistant to 500 metres. At this time a never reached technical masterpiece. From now on water sportsmen and a wealthy clientele of boat owners were interested in these watches. This was the beginning of a now 50 years old relationship between Edox and the world of luxury boats. A never ending “love story” growing by new innovating ideas and designs as well as technical perfection; Edox visualized the future from the very beginning of its establishment.
In 1965 Robert Kaufmann-Hug’s nephew, Victor Flury-Liechti, became director. Victor Flury-Liechti made considerable investments in a consequent further education of the management, as well as the technical competence of the engineers and watchmakers. In 1969 the first results of these in-vestments became obvious. The Edox engineers developed a very resistant, waterproofed watch based on multi hardened stainless steel, called „Bluebird“. This watch is made of a double casing bottom and shock absorbers. The extremely resistant “Bluebird” contains of a nearly scratch resistant surface, which gives the watch always a new touch.
The first real GMT watch: In the early seventies Edox presented the worldwide first real GMT watch, the „Geoscope“. The dial represents the realistic copy of the globe view from the south pole’s perspective. The continents like America, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia as well as New Zealand can be clearly identified. The dial turns, exactly like the earth, within 24 hours around his own axis. The GMT time (zero meridian) as well as the position of the sun are indicated. This watch has become a very desired collectible and experts deal it to astronomic high prices. Because of this innovation Edox became one of the ten most important watch making manufactures in Switzerland and stands out until today, thanks to its constant further development.
The recuperation of the autonomie: Edox was unfortunately also affected by a profounded crisis unsettling the Swiss watch manufacture industry in the seventies. 1973 all shares of Edox were sold to ASUAG (predecessor of the Swatch-Group), the Swiss most important association of watch making manufacturers. This collaboration didn’t adduce the expected success.
In 1983 Victor Strambini, president of Edox, buys all Edox shares from ASUAG (today Swatch Group). Edox became finally again independent. Victor Strambini focused right away the excellent characteristics of the traditional brand: the fusion of dynamism, elegance and technical innovation in an excellent quality of workmanship. Victor Strambini removed the Edox headquarters to Les Genevez in the very heart of the Swiss Jura. To date all Edox watches are hand-assembled by skilled watchmakers in the workshops in Les Genevez.
The world-wide slimmest watch with calendar: In 1998, a few times before the millennium, Edox set a revolutionary point. It was the birth of the world-wide slimmest watch with calendar, called „Les Bémonts Ultra Slim“. In the fine case works the ultra-slim high calibre 26000/27000 (only 1.4 millimetres), the world-wide slimmest clockwork with calendar! A never reached world record until today and a classic watch for friends of elegant wrist-watches. The watch with a unique convenience.
Partnerships
Edox is the official timekeeper of the Class 1 since November 2006. The Class 1 World Power-boat Championship, “Formula 1 of the oceans”. As the very first watch brand Edox expands its commitment consequently and for a long time in water offshore races. The Class 1 leads Edox to a matchless position. The traditional brand developed in close teamwork with the Class 1-engineers a new satellite-assisted and GPS-technology based timekeeping. These high-tech-measuring instruments fulfill very strict standards according to the water-/shock-resistance and precision. The often heavy seas on the race days and speeds up to 270km/h need a very special timing. A challenge, that Edox answered and managed brilliantly already in the first year. Since March 2008 the Swiss are official watch partners of the British Class 1 racing team „Negotiator“.
In 2008, Edox became the official timekeeper for the famous Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC). The following year, Edox became the official timekeeper of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Two years later, in 2010, Edox signed a partnership with Austrian free-diver Christian Redl. The Iceman timepiece collection has been inspired by the foremost ‘under ice’ freediving specialist, who holds the freediving under ice world record with a dive to -61 meters in water at a temperature of 2 degrees. In 2012, Edox became the official timekeeper of the Dakar Rally.
Strategy and vision
The autonomous brand considers to enlarge its technical commitment in the powerboat racing and extends its position as a leading manufacturer of fashionable and dynamic „offshore“ watches. While the majority of the other competitors is engaged in Formula 1, Hollywood-lifestyle and aviation, Edox identifies with the world of offshore races and luxury boats. This unique passion of Edox forms a supporting source of inspiration for the skilled watchmakers from Les Genevez. Deliminating from the others, Edox contemplates always the extraordinary values.
Marcus Fillinger is a professional Advertising Photographer, and specialist reserve Royal Australian Air Force photographer. In 2018 he will run the North Pole Marathon and will be accompanied by two of his expedition huskies for the 42.195km event.
Running the gruelling North Pole Marathon takes a special type of person. Competitors face the sheer effort, physical and mental, of running 26.2 miles (42.195km) on a course entirely on the ice – plus bone-numbing temperatures. For their “Sharkman” series diving watch Swiss watch brand Edox takes inspiration from Christian Redl, one of the foremost free-diving specialists in the world.
Christian Redl holds several world free-diving records: the most impressive probably being the longest ever swim under ice (100 meters), though the crossing of several underwater caves in Mexico cannot be ignored.
Christian Redl holds the record for the deepest free dive under ice to a depth of 60 meters, but has also been to the North Pole in April 2015 for a first world free dive under the ice.
In his latest record breaking attempt that to be held on 24 Feb 18, Christian Redl will enter the freezing waters of Austria’s Lake Weissensee to break his own under-ice free dive world record.
With a support crew of five divers, the man dubbed “The Iceman” will also be wearing a special Edox Sharkman II diver’s timepiece, one of five in a limited edition collection.
The Sharkman II is water-resistant to 1000m and the rugged steel case and scratch and shock-resistant ceramic bezel can handle even the most extreme environments beneath the frozen Lake. Just 300 are available worldwide.
The Sharkman II’s case back is engraved with a shark motif, a nod to The Iceman’s efforts to help protect species worldwide and also symbolic of his connection to the mysterious Greenland Shark.

Swiss watch brand Edox has partnered with the Arqueonautas (company active in the research of shipwrecks and of archaeological surveys) and Indonesia’s Bureau for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, for a survey of what is considered to be the final resting place of five ships of the Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie, the famed Dutch East India Company.
The fleet drowned in March 1650 onto a reef off the island of Kabaena in Southeast Sulawesi (Indonesia).
The first expedition took place in April. Some interesting and valuable remnants have been found. The Tijger flagship vessel of this fleet is now confirmed to by lying there. A total of 5 shipwrecks have been found and further investigation is now on process in order to identify the other wrecks. The next expedition will take place in November 2017.
Edox is celebrating its partnership with Arqueonautas Fashion Brand, with the release of a new timepiece, the Edox Delfin Fleet 1650 Limited Edition (200 pieces worldwide).
The 43 mm watch, which is water resistant to 200m, features a stunning bronze case, the same material used on the fittings of 17th Century Dutch ships. The watch, a true revival of the vintage Delfin timepiece collection, will of course get its own patina as bronze interacts when in contact with water or moisture.
Powered by an ultra-reliable mechanical Swiss-made movement, the watch has a steel case-back decorated with an historic wind rose that featured in drawings in the documents that led to the last resting place of the ships.
Each watch is also individually numbered and carries an engraved inscription “There is no certainty, there is only adventure.”
Presented in a hand-made leather travel pouch, the Edox Delfin Fleet 1650 Limited Edition also comes with a vintage heritage leather strap and a bi-colour NATO strap.

The wearer can see, through the dial and transparent case back, the intricate work of Swiss craftsmanship at its finest.
Edox has opened the drum and barrel covers to reveal the mainspring while the bridges and plating are thin-cut. The mechanical movement is lighter, aesthetically stunning, yet without compromising accuracy or strength.
Water-resistant to 100 m, the Phantom of Time comes in four colour variants (gold case/black dial, all silver, silver case/grey dial and gold case/silver dial), all matched with a genuine calf leather structured strap with Grand Ocean folding clasp.

Delfin – The Original was dubbed The Water Champion and rightly so; the watch was water-resistant to an amazing 200m, thanks to Edox’s imaginative engineering.
The Delfin – The Original’s double caseback and double O’ring construction for the crown and pushers gave the watch exceptional strength and underwater protection. Edox patented these innovations, becoming a world leader in specialist water sport watches in the process.
Now, in 2017, Edox introduces an updated version of the Delfin – The Original, a stunning modern sports watch that’s packed with functionality (including tachymeter readout, date display, dive bezel and chronograph sub-dials) and engineered to the same exacting standards that made its legendary 1961 ancestor .

The Grand Ocean Slim is a beautiful addition to the prestigious Edox Grand Ocean collection and one that is suited perfectly to those who prefer the “dress watch” look and feel in their chosen timepiece.
Unlike many “dress watches” though the Grand Ocean Slim has an excellent water resistance rating (100m), so the wearer has nothing to fear from the odd splash or two.
Edox has kept the Grand Ocean Slim to a sleek 41mm in diameter. The dial is uncluttered and classy, with a cute date display window at 6 o’clock in keeping with the minimalist design.
Powered by a quartz movement based on the Ronda 714, the Grand Ocean Slim will deliver unerring accuracy without you having to lift a finger. The gold sheen of the stainless steel case and bezel is complemented perfectly by a natural rubber strap, an eye-catching combination.
The Grand Ocean Automatic is an elegant watch that is perfectly suited to ocean-based pastimes but is equally at home being worn in the office or as the perfect leisure “companion”.
The Grand Ocean Automatic is powered by an automatic movement (based on the SW 220.1) and presents a beautiful no-fuss face with a day/date display at 3 o’clock on the dial.
The ratcheted unidirectional diver’s bezel, an excellent water resistance rating of 300m, plus the natural rubber strap, all bear testament to the Grand Ocean Automatic’s “sea-going” capabilities.
