DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

Unveiled at the Geneva Watch Days exhibition, the SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition is a modern interpretation of DOXA’s SUB 600T diving watch.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

First introduced in the ‘80s, the SUB 600T is one of the iconic DOXA dive models. Now, it is reborn in a brushed titanium case with ceramic bezel inlay bezel and comes with a dial colour in a shade of blue matched to the Pacific Ocean.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

The SUB 600T ‘pacific’ diving watch will be limited to 200 pieces. This series is released in collaboration with Time+Tide, DOXA’s partner in Australia.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

The ‘Pacific’ limited edition SUB 600T’s brushed titanium 40mm case is topped by a sapphire crystal. This professional grade diving watch has a water resistance up to 600 meters (60 bar, about 1970 feet).

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

The crown is positioned at 4 o’clock and the patented unidirectional ceramic rotating bezel, with dive time in minutes and depth in feet, prepares for safe ascents without decompression stops.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

The dial in ‘Pacific Ocean blue’ is a first for DOXA, and it evokes that ultramarine shimmer of the waters around Australia, the home of Time+Tide.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

All dive-related indications have a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating, including the distinctive ‘shark’s tooth’ hour markers at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock for optimal legibility in low-light conditions. This new watch comes with a tone-on-tone rubber strap to match the Pacific Blue dial.

DOXA SUB 600T ‘Pacific’ Limited Edition

This model also introduces a new type of clasp, a DOXA premiere: though it looks like a pin buckle, it is actually a folding buckle – here in brushed titanium – that allows for easy adjustment to the wearer’s wrist. The clasp sports the exclusive ‘DOXA Fish’ symbol.

DOXA SUB 200 Whitepearl

In 1967, DOXA became the first watch brand to put an orange dial on a diver’s watch. More than 50 years after its initial launch, rich with a unique history, the legendary SUB is now available for the first time totally in white.

Refreshingly sporty, the new SUB 200 Whitepearl from DOXA is a true classic. More than a trend, everywhere in fashion, white stands for a return to purity and simplicity that never ceases to inspire.

DOXA SUB 200 Whitepearl

White now joins the 6 dial colors already offered in the SUB 200, SUB 300 and SUB 1500T collections. True to the DOXA tradition of evocative designators, like Sharkhunter or Searambler, it also comes with a name of its own: Whitepearl.

DOXA Partners with Watches of Switzerland Group for Distribution at Sales Points in the US and UK

Over the past 24 months DOXA has experienced a remarkable resurgence, particularly among a large and growing community of aficionados in the States. In joining forces with the Watches of Switzerland group, both in the United States and the United Kingdom, and both in physical stores and in e-shops, the brand continues its international redeployment with the strong partners worldwide.

The official kick-off is set for March 2021 in the heart of the Big Apple at Watches of Switzerland’s trendy Soho boutique, which will also be the first to offer the famous DOXA diver’s watches, and on the e-commerce platform.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Orange Professional diving watch
DOXA Watches, founded in 1889, was the first brand to launch a truly professional diver’s tool-watch accessible for the general public in 1967, the now legendary SUB 300.

Developed in close collaboration with the famous American sports diving organization ‘US Divers,’ headed at the time by the already then iconic Commander Cousteau, the SUB 300 incorporated radical innovations that quickly made it the benchmark for military and professional divers, too.

Take the orange dial, totally unheard of at a time when white or black were the norm. It wasn’t just new for the sake of being new. The color was chosen after countless tests because it offered optimal visibility at a depth of 30 meters. Another striking innovation: a new unidirectional bezel with a double indication for calculating dive time in relation to depth and thus ensuring a safe ascent without decompression stops.

The bezel was based on the science behind the no-decompression dive table developed by the US Navy. The table enabled divers to determine the time they could remain at a particular depth and return to the surface in one continuous ascent – without having to pause for decompression.

DOXA engineers succeeded in integrating the US Navy’s parameters into two separate scales on the bezel, one for depth on the orange outer ring, the other for time (in minutes) on the black inner ring. It would become a DOXA patent.

Today, DOXA Watches is part of the Walca Group, an industrial company owned for over 40 years by the Swiss Jenny family and based in Biel in the canton of Bern, Switzerland.

True to the strategy established by founder Georges Ducommun in 1889 to produce high-quality Swiss watches at affordable prices, DOXA’s independent status keeps the brand nimble, so it can adapt to market changes and focus on creating watches that uniquely combine precision, reliability and functionality with great design and outstanding value.

Today, the brand is in the care of Jan Edöcs, CEO of DOXA Watches. Under his leadership, the brand has experienced a remarkable renewal over the past two years, reviving technical and aesthetic innovation while remaining faithful to the brand’s DNA and rich heritage.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC (New Models: Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar and Turquoise Aquamarine)

After the great success of the SUB 300 Aqua Lung US Divers launched in 2020, a limited series of only 300 numbered pieces, Swiss watch brand DOXA presents the SUB 300 carbon COSC in 6 colors: Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar and Turquoise Aquamarine.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Orange Professional

The DOXA SUB 300 carbon also comes with a choice of rubber straps: tone-on-tone to match the color of the dial and, of course, black. The very soft rubber used for this series, with DOXA markings on both sides, makes the watch particularly comfortable to wear.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Orange Professional

Besides a black PVD-coated folding clasp highlighted with the exclusive ‘DOXA fish’ symbol, the strap features an adjustable diver’s wetsuit extension. Forged carbon provides DOXA with a high-tech, high appeal material to build on the heritage of the SUB 300.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Silver Searambler

More than 50 years after its launch, rich with a unique history, the legendary SUB 300 is available in 2021 for the first time in carbon as a non-limited version.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Silver Searambler

Uncannily lightweight compared to steel, forged carbon gives off an urban camouflage vibe that alternates shades of charcoal gray and black, an iridescent effect that fluctuates with the intensity of the light, turning the watch into a more radical, more contemporary statement.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Black Sharkhunter

Far from the usual black watch cases, the textures, the look and feel of forged carbon are simply one of a kind. Matte, raw, high tech, the material seems at once compact and irregular. The very particular non-homogeneous marbling – achieved with randomly worked fibers – expresses a subtle balance between being respectful of its heritage and yet provocative in the same way the original SUB 300 was back then. The SUB 300 carbon echoes all the codes of its origins, while cultivating a racier, sportier, more technical, but also more urban look.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Black Sharkhunter

Each self-winding mechanical movement to equip a SUB 300 carbon COSC is rigorously certified by the prestigious COSC (for ‘Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres’). COSC certification guarantees chronometric performance and scrupulous compliance with the highest standards in terms of precision, reliability, shock resistance, automatic winding and ease of maintenance.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Navy Caribbean

The SUB 300 carbon COSC retains all the technical hallmarks that defined the legend. With a diameter of 42.5 mm, the SUB 300 carbon COSC features a pressure-resistant titanium chamber and a screw-down crown to afford maximum protection for the movement. The watch is waterproof to a depth of 300 meters or 30 ATM, about 980 feet, for absolute freedom of undersea exploration.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Navy Caribbean

Its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment has the distinctive dome shape of the curved Plexiglas used for the original series way back when. The COSC-certified automatic movement provides a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Yellow Divingstar

All dive-related displays stand out in low-light conditions thanks to Super-LumiNova® luminescence, thus ensuring excellent readability during dives where visibility is reduced.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Yellow Divingstar

The hour indices are clearly visible, as is the dual indication of dive time in minutes and depth in meters on the patented unidirectional rotating bezel designed for calculating and monitoring no-decompression dive times.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon COSC Turquoise Aquamarine

For the dive time scale, the inserts are white, punctuated with a dot at 12 o’clock. The inserts of the bezel graduated in meters for depths are colored – either in orange, yellow or turquoise –for visual differentiation, with a light dot at 12H.

DOXA SUB 300 COSC (New Edition: 6 Colors and 12 Versions)

During this summer season, Swiss watch brand DOXA is introducing its the stainless steel SUB 300 COSC in 6 different color schemes: Orange Professional, Silver Searambler, Black Sharkhunter, Navy Caribbean, Yellow Divingstar and Turquoise Aquamarine. Available with a matching rubber strap or with a stainless steel bracelet, the new edition is comprised of 12 versions in total.

Also a COSC Certified Chronometer, the new SUB 300 stainless steel model is a robust and reliable diver, rated to a depth of 300 meters (30 BAR, about 984 feet).

DOXA SUB 300 COSC Black Sharkhunter Ref. 821.10.101.10 (black dial, stainless steel bracelet)
DOXA SUB 300 COSC Black Sharkhunter

In 1967, DOXA launched the revolutionary SUB concept, considered to be the first truly purpose-designed diver’s watch for a broad audience. The radical innovations it introduced at the time quickly made it the benchmark for professionals, too. Rated to a depth of 300 meters (30 ATM), it was the first of its kind to feature a unidirectional bezel with dual markings for dive times and depths for calculating and monitoring no-decompression dives.

DOXA SUB 300 COSC Turquoise Aquamarine Ref. 821.10.241.25 (turquoise dial, turquoise rubber strap)
DOXA SUB 300 COSC Turquoise Aquamarine

At the time, the US Navy no-decompression dive table was the be-all and end-all, enabling divers to first determine and then monitor the time they could remain at a predetermined depth and still ensure a safe return to the surface – without having to make a decompression stop on the way back up. DOXA engineers took the US Navy’s calculations and incorporated them into two separate scales on the bezel, one orange for the outer “depth” ring and the other black for the inner “time” ring – a DOXA patent.

DOXA SUB 300 COSC Navy Caribbean
DOXA SUB 300 COSC Navy Caribbean

The first to feature a bright orange dial, in daring contrast to the conventional black or white diver’s watches of the day, the instantly recognizable SUB 300 soon became a legend in its own time.

Starting 1968, the SUB 300 became easy to spot on the wrists of divers jumping from the deck of the Calypso every week to take millions of TV viewers on the thrilling missions of “The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau” Team Undersea Odyssey”. Already a living legend back then, Commander Jacques-Yves Cousteau – co-inventor of the Aqua Lung underwater breathing apparatus and spiritual father of modern scuba diving – was so fond of the SUB 300 that he secured exclusive distribution rights in the United States for his company, US Divers.

From 2015, the SUB 300 is available as a limited edition in only three dial colors with orange, black and silver. For the brand’s 130th Anniversary, DOXA Watches is launching the DOXA SUB 300 in 6 colors and 12 versions, all vibrant, bright, full of summer zest and ready for adventure. Not to forget the iconic “beads of rice” bracelet, also made of stainless steel.

DOXA SUB 300 COSC Orange Professional Ref. 821.10.351.10 (orange dial, stainless steel bracelet)

DOXA Watches introduces rubber straps in colors for a tone-on-tone match with the dials, a first for its collections and a sporty alternative to the steel bracelet. Made from soft and supple rubber, these new straps come with the DOXA hallmarks on both sides and provide an amazingly comfortable fit.

In 1967, DOXA launched the revolutionary SUB concept with the SUB 300, considered to be the first truly purpose-designed diver’s watch that is also accessible to the general public. Water resistant to a depth of 300 meters, it marked a first with a patented rotating bezel that allowed the diver to calculate and monitor no-decompression dive times based on the official US Navy dive tables. The watch soon also became easily recognizable because of another first: instead of the conventional black or white dials of the time, the SUB’s dial is bright orange.

Since then, DOXA has continuously perfected its diver’s watches, and in particular the most emblematic of all, the SUB 300, which remains one of the rare diver’s watches to have made its mark in Swiss watchmaking history.

More than 50 years after its launch, true to its unique tradition of innovation, the legendary SUB 300 is now reinterpreted in carbon. The SUB 300 Aqua Lung US Divers pays tribute to a rich past while reconnecting with Aqua Lung: the brand that embraced the SUB concept in the early days, through an official partnership that has just been signed to coincide with this product premiere.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US DIVERS Limited Edition 1

So light compared to its stainless steel peers, the SUB 300 in forged carbon gains an urban camouflage vibe. Jet black alternating with shades of charcoal: The iridescent effect plays with reflections that change with the intensity of ambient light, making the watch more radical and contemporary.

Far from the conventional classic black cases, the texture and colors of forged carbon are simply unique. Matte, raw, high-tech, the material seems both very compact and irregular. This very particular non-homogeneous pattern, achieved by working with randomly oriented carbon fibers, creates a subtle balance between the deference to its roots and the indomitable drive to break new ground.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US DIVERS Limited Edition 1

All the self-winding mechanical movements that power the 300 units of the SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US Divers edition are certified by the prestigious COSC (“Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres”), which guarantees the chronometric performance and scrupulous compliance with requirements in terms of precision, reliability, shock resistance, automatic winding and ease of maintenance.

With a diameter of 42.5 mm, the SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US Divers features a pressure-resistant titanium chamber and a screw-down crown to protect the movement. This watch is rated to a depth of 300 meters, allowing maximum freedom of undersea exploration. Its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, treated with an antireflective coating, echoes the domed plexi-glass of early SUB generations. The COSC-certified automatic movement ensures a power reserve exceeding 40 hours.

Also a distinctive feature of this limited series of only 300 pieces: the use of carbon not only for the case but also for the dial –the discretion of black contrasts with the assertive presence of white and yellow.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US DIVERS Limited Edition 1

All dive-related markings have a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating to ensure optimum readability during dives under low visibility conditions. The white indices are clearly visible, as is the dual indication of dive time in minutes and depth in feet on the famous patented unidirectional rotating bezel for calculating and monitoring no-decompression dive times. The inserts of the diving scale defined by the bezel are white, with a white dot at 12 o’clock. The depth indications in feet on the outer bezel ring bezel are yellow for visual differentiation, with a yellow dot at 12 o’clock.

This is the first time DOXA employs a bright yellow minute hand. It’s the same yellow as the exclusive Aqua Lung logo placed at 7 o’clock. Next to it, the designation “SUB 300 Sharkhunter Carbon.”

The watch is fitted with a black soft rubber strap for exceptional wear comfort, with a black PVD-treated folding clasp featuring the exclusive “DOXA fish” symbol.

DOXA SUB 300T Conquistador – Now On Available In A Choice of 6 Dial Colors

In 1969, DOXA unveiled the SUB 300T Conquistador. Reliable, efficient and affordable, it was at the time the first diver’s watch to come equipped with a helium release valve, a unidirectional rotating bezel for setting no decompression dive times, and an orange dial for exceptional underwater legibility.

Developed for the general public and the growing number of underwater diving enthusiasts, the SUB 300T Conquistador already then set the benchmark for what a purpose-designed diver’s watch should be.

Today, 50 years later, the new SUB 300T Conquistador pays tribute to this historic model. It is a testament to the enduring appeal of the DOXA SUB concept and the unshakeable loyalty it enjoys among professional and recreational divers the world over.

The legend returns with a choice of six original dial colors: orange, of course (Professional); yellow (Divingstar); navy blue (Caribbean); turquoise (Aquamarine); silver (Searambler); and black (Sharkhunter).

Incorporating the aesthetics that unmistakably defined the SUB 300T Conquistador, the famous three-handed diver’s watch also brings together all the technical aspects that make it the true to purpose, reliable and desirable diving watch for today.

Fabricated from 316L stainless steel of the highest quality, the DOXA SUB 300T’s case has a diameter of 42.5 mm and is topped with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The pressure resistance of 120 bar (1’200 meters) allows diving at very deep depths.

In addition, the model naturally also features the patented unidirectional rotating bezel with dual indication of dive time in minutes and depth in feet for returning to the surface without decompression stops.

All the display elements related to diving information feature a Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating to ensure optimal legibility under low light conditions and underwater.

The bracelet for this collection is made of 316L stainless steel and sports a folding clasp with the exclusive DOXA fish symbol. A rubber strap version will be available as well from mid December 2019.

Swiss Watch Maker Doxa Restructures Its Business Management and Brand Identity

Building on an exceptional heritage, DOXA Watches – founded in 1889 – is in particular associated with the launch of the first truly purpose-designed diver’s watch for the general public in 1967, the legendary SUB 300. Developed in close collaboration with the famous sports diving organization “US Divers,” the SUB soon became the reference for military and professional divers, too.

Encouraged by the excellent response from the markets, customers and media at this year’s Baselworld, the leadership at DOXA Watches is shifting the brand’s international redeployment into high gear.

Here are the highlights of Doxa’s new business strategy:-

  • New, centralized leadership structure, with general management in Switzerland.
  • Fast-tracking of business growth, backed by substantial investments.
  • Redesigned collections, with an emphasis on the legendary SUB diving sports watches.
  • Consolidation of key markets, inroads into promising new territories.
  • A new brand identity, a new logo, a new campaign, a new website.

DOXA Watches, based in Biel in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland, is a 100% subsidiary of Walca Group, an industrial company owned for more than 40 years by the Swiss Jenny family. Walca Group specializes in the development and manufacture of private label Swiss Made watches.

Heading the leadership at DOXA Watches is Romeo F. Jenny, who represents the fourth generation of the family that owns the group and has entrusted the DOXA brand’s realignment and management to Jan Edöcs, Board Member of the Walca Group and CEO of DOXA Watches.

As part of the first stage of the relaunch, all DOXA brand activities are now fully managed from Switzerland, which will enable a more streamlined, consistent and rapid reorganization process.

With regard to distribution, all markets, without exception, will operate and grow under the direct responsibility of the General Management in Switzerland, which will ensure consistency and cohesiveness across all activities. The brand’s presence in the United States, historically a key market, will be significantly reinforced with the opening of a North American (Canada and USA) subsidiary in Boca Raton, Florida, and the recruitment of a team entirely dedicated to the brand.

Building on the redeployment in North America market, Doxa Watches will consolidate the English speaking market universe by opening two new distributorships: in the UK and Australia. The two distributors DOXA is partnering with are intimately familiar with the brand and have a strong marketing presence in their respective territories. These markets are very promising for the brand’s legendary SUB collections.

Elsewhere in the world, the brand is established in Hong Kong and China, as well as in Central Europe, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary, and its strong presence in these markets will enable DOXA to further capitalize on what’s been achieved so far.

DOXA Watches also plans to reinforce its position with a dedicated organization in Germany to facilitate direct access to European customers. The Swiss domestic market will naturally also benefit from a strengthened distribution structure.

With regard to collections, the massive success of the new products launched at Baselworld 2019 has accelerated a major overhaul in recent months. Streamlining the collections, reducing the number of references, delving deeper into the brand’s DNA and focusing on the legendary SUB concept, have been the focus of DOXA Watches’ development team.

Announcing a new evolution of the DOXA SUB concept: from now on, all the iconic SUB models (42mm and 45mm as well as the SUB 200) will systematically be available as non-limited series in all 6 historical dial colors – orange of course, but also yellow, navy blue, turquoise, silver and black.

With regard to limited editions, DOXA Watches will continue to introduce special models such as the famous SUB 200 T.GRAPH, though in a more exclusive context and in smaller production runs than in the past.

Finally, to address the changes made on the marketing front, DOXA watches surfaces with a new international identity, ensuring a clear, crisp and consistent brand image throughout the world. Faithful to the brand’s DNA: a new logo to express the DOXA spirit; a new communication campaign with a new claim #YourCalltoAdventure to capture the imagination; a new website for better, easier and more rewarding brand access; and new social networks, now active under the DoxaWatchesOfficial identity, to engage and exchange among fans.

Also, on August 1, Swiss National Day, Doxa Watches headquarters in Switzerland officially regained 100% authority over the name and website http://www.doxawatches.com/

Now with a centralized management in Switzerland, and still 100% owned by the Jenny family in its second generation, DOXA Watches has been consolidating its positions and business activities around the world since 1 August 2019 to offer the best service to its customers.

In the meantime, for transactions and sales made by third parties and/or independent companies before August 1st, 2019, and in the event of a dispute, Doxa Watches HQ Switzerland will do everything in its power to help and assist customers. With the launch of the new website, customers will also be able to learn more about the new Doxa organization and discover the new collections of Doxa Watches for the next quarter of this year.

DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH Stainless Steel Limited Edition

After the success of the 130th Anniversary series in 18K gold presented at Baselworld 2019 and limited to only 13 pieces, DOXA launches the SUB 200 T.GRAPH in steel in a limited edition of 300 pieces

This limited edition is powered by historical movements: original VALJOUX 7734 calibers which had been conserved in pristine condition for over 30 years at DOXA.

It was at Baselworld 1967 that DOXA launched the revolutionary SUB concept, considered to be the first purpose-designed diver’s watch intended for the general public. The radical innovations it presented quickly made it a reference for professionals as well.

Water-resistant to a depth of 300 meters, it was the first to feature a patented rotating bezel with the official no-decompression dive table. This watch would also become an easily recognizable legend due to its orange dial – a first for a diving watch, and a brash contrast with the traditional black or white background.

In 1969, the SUB concept is further refined in the form of the DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH, which even today still counts as a reference in the field of the most emblematic diving watches in watchmaking history. And the legend continues.

50 years later, DOXA presents a reinterpretation of its iconic model. Following a first limited edition in 18K gold, DOXA unveils the SUB 200 T.GRAPH in a new stainless steel limited series.

With a diameter of 43 mm, the SUB 200 T.GRAPH is topped by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating. In addition to being water-resistant to 20 ATM, equivalent to a depth of about 200 meters, the watch also features the famous patented unidirectional rotating bezel with the dual indication of dive time in minutes and depth in meters to calculate the dive time without decompression stops. The finishing touch: a SuperLuminova® pearl at 12 o’clock.

Just like the original model, the legendary face finished in semi-matte orange features two counters, one at 9 o’clock indicating the seconds, and the other at 3 o’clock indicating the chronograph’s 30 minutes. The baton-type hands and the insert on the chronograph’s seconds hand are all filled with SuperLuminova® beige “Light Old Radium.” The SUB 200 T.GRAPH’s characteristic indices, painted in black, are filled with SuperLuminova® beige “Light Old Radium” as well.

This limited steel edition, as was the case with the 18K gold version, is also equipped with historical 7734 VALJOUX movements. These original calibers, dating back 30 years, have been carefully preserved by the Swiss family Jenny, who took over ownership of the DOXA brand two decades ago. Each movement has of course been completely revised and made absolutely reliable prior to fitting.

The famous DOXA “grains of rice” bracelet, also crafted from 316L steel and featuring a folding clasp with diving extension and the DOXA fish symbol, rounds off this purpose-designed classic.

DOXA

There are some very discreet Swiss watch brands with a rich and fascinating history in Swiss watchmaking, and thriving understatedly to this day. DOXA is one.

Founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun in the heart of the Jura Mountains in Switzerland’s canton of Neuchatel, DOXA shares the cradle of Swiss watchmaking excellence with some of the world’s most famous brands.

With the discretion that comes from having earned its place in watchmaking history, and located today in Biel at the heart of the watchmaking industry, DOXA remains one of the legendary brands in the field of diving watches. Numerous patents and numerous awards at national and international exhibitions add to the substance of its remarkable heritage.

130 years ago, in 1889, the Swiss watch factory DOXA was founded in Le Locle under the name “Georges Ducommun, Fabrique des montres DOXA.” The brand not only manufactured pocket watches, but also equipped the first automobiles such as the first Bugatti models, with a clock featuring the patented DOXA 8-DAY movement, a watch specially designed for car dashboards.

The brand soon garnered awards, including the Gold Medal at the Milan International Exhibition in 1906. Patents were regularly filed. As of 1915, the company employed several hundred watchmakers, designers and engineers.

In 1925, Georges Ducommun, representing DOXA, was elected Vice-President of the International Horology Group and President of the Swiss Watchmaking Association at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris. It should be remembered that when Georges Ducommun passed away in 1936, it was Jacques Nardin, grandson of another legendary watchmaker from Le Locle, Ulysse Nardin, who took over the helm. Coinciding with DOXA’s 75th anniversary, the brand was awarded the 1st Prize at the Swiss National Exhibition in Lausanne in 1964.

In 1964, Urs Eschle, head of product development at DOXA, after inspired by fascinating movie documentaries, TV shows and magazine articles about underwater adventures, decided to create watches suited for divers.

During that time, diving watches were expensive and mostly worn by military and professional divers. Urs Eschle’s idea was to produce a dependable and affordable diving watch, purpose-designed for the growing community of explorers. For this purpose, he formed a team that included professional divers like Claude Wesly, already a legend through his missions with Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Wesly was also one of the first two “aquanauts” who participated in the “Précontinent I, II, and III” dive missions that began in 1962.

To Urs it was not just about making an attractive, affordable and watertight watch. Everybody on the team fully appreciated that diving is not without its risks, and that divers depend on their watch for their safety.

Every aspect of what makes a watch a true diver’s watch was explored, examined and thought-through until the optimum solution was found. An orange dial, as tests show it offers optimum visibility even at 30 meters. A larger minute hand because it is easier to spot and a diver measures time in minutes, not hours. A case made from a single piece of steel to ensure absolute waterproofness. A bracelet with a ratchet mechanism built into the clasp so that it could be sized without having to remove links. A clasp designed to easily and quickly expand to the larger wrist diameter when wearing a wetsuit. No doubt the most defining innovation of all: a bezel that incorporates a decompression table. One of the greatest hazards for divers is not knowing exactly how long they can stay underwater without having to decompress on the way back. At the time, the US Navy’s no-decompression limit dive table was the be all and end all, enabling divers to monitor time underwater as a function of depth to ensure a safe return to the surface. DOXA’s engineers came up with a bezel integrating two separate scales, one using orange for the outer “depth” ring, the other black for the inner “minute” ring – a DOXA patent.

Unveiled at Baselworld and subsequently commercialized in 1967, the DOXA SUB concept was the first truly 100% purpose-designed, professional-grade diver’s watch available to the general public. The radical innovations it introduced soon established it as the benchmark for professionals, too.

It was the first diver’s watch to feature a patented rotating bezel to monitor dive time and ensure a node compression ascent back to the surface. The other reason why the DOXA SUB became an easily recognizable legend in its own time is the hallmark orange dial instead of the conventional black or white background for diving watches. The prominent indices and oversized minute hand, which also feature beige-colored Luminova™ inlays, enable the most important information to be readily registered by the diver, even under extremely low-light conditions.

Jacques-Yves Cousteau, co-inventor of the Aqua Lung underwater breathing apparatus and originator of modern-day scuba diving, liked the DOXA SUB concept so much that he negotiated an exclusive distributorship for his US-based company, US Divers. DOXA diving watches retailed by US Divers in the Americas featured the Aqua Lung logo printed on their dials, characterized by the twin-hose SCUBA tank design which Cousteau and fellow Frenchman Émile Gagnan developed and patented in 1942.

During the design and development period of the first series of connected parts, a small batch of SUB models was produced with an Aqua Lung logo in black and yellow. After tests this version was abandoned in favor of a dial with better readability. However, a few copies of this pre-series, nicknamed “Black Lung,” were sold. Starting 1968, the orange dial became a sign of recognition on the wrist of divers who jumped from the “Calypso” to take millions of TV viewers on the legendary weekly missions to explore “The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau” (that’s the name of the show).

In Switzerland, Urs and his team kept refining the concept and in 1969 DOXA introduced the DOXA SUB 300T Conquistador, the first diving watch to feature a helium release valve (HRV) jointly developed with Rolex.

A helium release valve is a key feature when deep dives are involved which require time spent in a decompression chamber, where the diver inhales air that contains helium and hydrogen. Helium molecules are much smaller than oxygen or nitrogen and can penetrate the seals of a watch case. A sudden differential between the pressure inside the case and outside will cause the crystal to be blown out of the watch. The HRV addresses this problem, allowing the helium to be released while preventing any water from entering the watch case. Today the Conquistador is one of the most sought-after vintage diver’s watches ever.

1969 also marked the year the DOXA SUB became the official watch of the Elite Diving Unit of the Swiss Army. Commander Jacques Cousteau, co-inventor of the Aqualung, invited millions of TV viewers around the world aboard the “Calypso” on its many missions to discover “The Silent World.” Albert Falco, second in command, spent more than 20,000 hours under the surface of the 7 seas. On their wrist: a DOXA.

Very soon, DOXA SUB became synonymous with some of the most accurate and robust diving watches in the world, greatly contributing to the safety of professional and sports divers thanks to the many technical details they comprise.

The DOXA SUB concept was continuously refined and won over a growing following among both professional and amateur divers around the world. Heroes of fiction, too, became fans. Dirk Pitt, the main protagonist in many a bestseller by the famous American author Clive Cussler, wears one. Cussler, a true friend and ambassador of the brand is also the founder of NUMA, the National Underwater Marine Agency, a private non-profit dedicated to preserving our maritime heritage through the discovery, archaeological survey and conservation of shipwreck artifacts.

DOXA became part of Hollywood lore, too: Robert Redford was seen wearing a SUB 300T Sharkhunter in “3 Days of the Condor,” which came out in 1975 and is a cult classic. Matthew McConaughey as Dirk Pitt, the intrepid hero created by Clive Cussler, sports a SUB 600T Professional in 2005’s “Sahara.”

In 2014 DOXA became the proud sponsor of Mission 31, a project initiated by Fabien Cousteau, Jacques-Yves’ grandson. The 31-day mission at “Aquarius,” the world’s only undersea marine lab in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary created a submersion record for ocean exploration. DOXA manufactured a special limited edition of 331 timepieces with the famous orange face to memorialize the team’s feat.

Today, DOXA remains true to the idea that respect for a rich tradition, attention to detail and a knack for anticipating future are the drivers behind watches of timeless elegance, distinctive exclusivity and fashionable sportiness for the successful woman and man of today.

DOXA’s current CEO, Romeo F. Jenny, remains true to Georges Ducommun’s strategy of producing high quality watches at affordable prices. This commitment is also reflected in DOXA’s requirement that all suppliers uphold strong ethical standards for socially and ecologically acceptable manufacturing, and in DOXA’s support of marine biology research programs.

DOXA’s independent status enables the brand to act quickly and adapt to market changes – and focus its efforts on creating innovative watches that combine high precision and technical refinement with quality, reliability, functionality and style.

Doxa Sub 200 T.Graph 18K Gold “130th Anniversary Celebration” Limited Edition

To mark its 130th anniversary and also to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the legendary SUB 200 T.Graph dive watch, Swiss watch brand DOXA presents a limited series of a diver’s watch in 18K gold. Each face is unique and numbered. The caseback is engraved. The watch is available in an edition of only 13 timepieces. This exceptional timepiece comes equipped with original VALJOUX 7734 movements which had been carefully preserved by DOXA for 30 years.

In 1967 at Baselworld, DOXA launched the revolutionary DOXA SUB concept, considered to be the first truly mainstream professional diver’s watch. The radical and ingenious innovations it presented quickly made it a reference for professionals as well.

Water-resistant until a depth of 300 meters, it was the first professional diving watch to feature a patented rotating bezel that incorporates the US Navy’s no-decompression table. This watch becomes an easily recognizable legend for another key reason, too: it is the first and only diver’s watch to have an orange dial, contrasting with the conventional black or white backgrounds.

In 1969, the DOXA SUB concept was further refined with the launch of the SUB 200 T.GRAPH. It remains today one of the most emblematic diving watches in watchmaking history.  50 years later, DOXA unveils a reinterpretation of an iconic model as a limited 18K gold edition. The DOXA SUB 200 T.GRAPH will be presented for the first time in a very limited edition of only 13 units to celebrate the brand’s 130th Anniversary in 2019.

This “Anniversary” series is all the more exceptional as it comes equipped with original VALJOUX 7734 movements, a historical treasure carefully preserved by DOXA for over 30 years. Timeless gold, noble metal par excellence, is a natural choice for such an exclusive limited edition, the reincarnation of one of the most famous Swiss diver’s watches, in honor of its 50th Anniversary.

With a diameter of 43mm, the case is crafted from a single block of 4N gold and topped by a scratch resistant sapphire crystal.

Watertight till 20 ATM, equivalent to a depth of about 200 meters, the DOXA SUB 200 T.Graph also features the famous patented unidirectional rotating bezel with dual indication of the dive time in minutes and the depth in feet for a no-decompression ascent. At 12 o’clock on the minute ring, a bright spot of SuperLuminova™.

As on the original model, the legendary semi-matte orange dial features two subsidiary dials, the first positioned at 3 o’clock counting 30 minutes, and the second positioned at 9 o’clock counting 60 seconds. The baton-style hour and minute hands feature SuperLuminova™ beige “Light Old Radium” inserts, as does the tip of the second hand. The DOXA SUB 200 T.Graph’s characteristic indices in black also feature SuperLuminova™ beige “Light Old Radium” inserts.

This “Anniversary” Series is equipped with the original 7734 VALJOUX movements, which have been carefully preserved as a historical treasure for nearly 30 years under the guardianship of the Swiss family Jenny, owner of the DOXA brand for over twenty years.

Each caliber has been thoroughly examined, overhauled and reconditioned before being fitted into the case. Only 13 numbered copies of this special “Anniversary” model will be available for sale, each sporting an orange rubber strap. The iconic rice grain mesh bracelet will also be available in 4N gold.

DOXA SUB 300 50th Anniversary Edition

In 2017, the DOXA SUB 300 as the original orange dial dive watch celebrated its silver anniversary.

The DOXA SUB 300 was created to provide a top quality dive watch for the emerging recreational scuba diving market. Launched in 1967, it quickly became the reference for all dive watches that would follow.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the DOXA SUB, the Swiss brand has gone back to their archives and produced a watch that combines the look and feel of the original with the latest in Swiss watch making know how. The result is the 50th Anniversary DOXA SUB 300.

Priced at $2,490 and limited to 300 pieces per model, this timepiece is available in the three traditional DOXA versions –

Professional – Orange
Sharkhunter – Black
Searambler – Silver

Like the original the case is solid, stainless steel measuring 42.5 mm in diameter, and 13.4 mm thick. The movement is ETA’s 2824-2 Chronometer Grade version. Like the original SUB 300 the stainless steel bracelet is DOXA’s unique “beads of rice” style, with an interesting taper from 22 mm to 20 mm where the clasp is equipped with an integrated wetsuit extension.

The bezel displays DOXA’s innovative adaptation of the US Navy’s maximum no decompression limit times, which is engraved in orange on the outer unidirectional bezel. And while the crystal bears a striking resemblance to the plexi crystal of the original 300, it is, in fact a double bubble sapphire crystal.

Doxa Diva Collection – Lady Bangle Watch

The lady bangle watch of the Diva Collection is an ideal example of DOXA’s passion to transform elegance into an outstanding exceptional watch. DOXA watches reflect and underline their wearer’s personality, subtly and gracefully since 128 years.

From the roaring 1920s to the post-war years, the form and designs of watches changed dramatically. Strongly influenced by the dominant artistic styles, the timepieces became more colourful, the materials richer, the style more extravagant, more fashionable. However, not only watches changed: the vibrant art movements also influenced advertising. DOXA’s billboards reflect the Art Deco style. G. Ducommun, founder of DOXA, developed strong, specific advertising for his products.

Even after the death of G. Ducommun in 1936, DOXA continued creating models influenced by the predominant artistic ideas. This great strategy allowed DOXA a very successful start into the second half of the century.

In 1939, DOXA designed the lady bangle watch for the successful and elegant lady. Using high quality materials in fanciful perfection, this adornment underlined the uniqueness of its wearer.

DOXA paid close attention to the ornaments seen on the watch of 1939 and re-construed them as well above and below the dial. The relaunch of DOXA’s celebrated bangle watch even sports the special polished section on the crystal. The mother-of-pearl coat on the dial gives the watch the sophisticated appearance it deserves. A Swiss quartz movement in the heart guarantees accuracy.

Manufactured in two different sizes, DOXA makes sure that this fashionable vintage watch fits on every woman’s wrist. Expertise in creating jewellery watches from the past till today, combined with modern technical competence, contemporary design and flair, DOXA has transformed this legendary lady’s watch into an avant-garde must-have.

DOXA New Shark Ceramica L Collection

For years, Swiss watch brand Doxa has been exploring new horizons in the craftsmanship of diving watches and earned the appreciation of many watch enthusiasts with the excellent performances and distinguished designs of its timepieces.

In 2016, the brand presents a remarkable timepiece by launching D200, three new executions for its flagship diver’s watch collection Shark Ceramica L, featuring more stylish design to keep on the brand’s legendary accomplishments in deep-sea exploration that have been celebrated for nearly half a century.

Devoted to crafting diving watches for nearly half a century, Doxa is a professional watchmaker for deep-sea adventure. Shark Ceramica L, Doxa’s diver’s watch collection configured to the highest standard, is a new model that boasts a water resistance up to 300 metres and stands out with its modish large size. The three new executions launched this year feature a 46-mm case, which is smaller by 2-mm than the model of last year, suitable for many people to wear without undermining its masculine charm.

Besides outstanding water resistance, highly reliable performance is equally important in a diver’s watch. Shark Ceramica L adopts a stainless steel case to secure the watch durability, while the finely polished details adorn it with fascinating glamour. Another special feature is the rotating ceramic bezel crafted with advanced technology, which offers resistance against scratches and corrosion. Combined with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the watch is well-designed for facing whatever challenges above and under the sea.

An excellent diving watch must be capable of displaying time in a simple and distinct manner, which is best exemplified by Shark Ceramica L. Three watch hands are placed upon a sleekly designed dial, with the indexes and sword-shaped hands covered with luminous coating to ensure high readability even in the dark; the second hand is shaded in the brand’s signature hue of orange or red, adding a dash of dynamic colour to the dial.

At 6H right below the 3D inscription of Doxa’s brand name, a date display is set and magnified so that the wearer can get the reading at a glance. The dual colour ceramic bezel offers striking visual appeal, as the markers of the first quarter are distinguished with bright colour. Equipped with the rotating bezel for time-tracking, the watch can certainly provide divers or water sports enthusiasts with practical reminders for safety.

Last but not least, the Swiss Made automatic movement is another proof of the timepiece’s superior quality.

Not only is the Shark Ceramica L collection equipped with unparalleled diving performance, its aesthetic design is also exceptional. The three new executions of D200 launched this year have included numerous detailed improvements to enhance its visual appeal. The ceramic bezels of the new watches offer more diverse choices of colour with three trendy and vivacious combinations: naval blue or army green matched with jet black, or nickel grey matched with silvery white. The dial in black or white implies a graceful demeanour, which is distinguished from the bright-toned markers around the external edge for a richer composition.

The subtle wave pattern on the dial resembles the glittering sea, where the brand’s classic shark symbol hovers at 4H in a pleasant and prominent portrayal polished with innovative technique.

“CERAMICA” is inscribed at 8H to testify the material used in the watch. Another worth-noting feature is the screw-down crown, a professional design to prevent water from penetrating the watch, allowing it to function in top shape 300 metres underwater. The caseback is furnished with a new look featuring a 3D shark motif in the centre with the name of the collection “SHARK-300” inscribed below, offering a visual pleasure as captivating as the dial.

DOXA – New Trofeo T-Master Limited Edition (Model D197BBO)

Since Doxa was founded in 1889 in Le Locle, the Swiss watchmaking hub, the brand has adhered to the commitment of crafting watches with advanced technologies and sophisticated designs. Every timepiece by Doxa is equipped with excellent quality and everlasting value.

Being the flagship watch collection, Trofeo merges sportive dynamism, innovative technology and trendy style into a prominent series. In 2016, another spectacular creation joins the collection as Trofeo T-Master (Model D197BBO). This titanium chronograph watch is geared with full calendar for practicality, precision as well as vogue, and is limited to 300 pieces worldwide, which would definitely set a new trend among watch enthusiasts.

What inspires the novel design of anew watch is the name of the collection itself. Trofeo literally means “trophy” in Italian, while the brand name of Doxa is the Greek word for “glory”. Consequently, the best symbol for both ideas would be a trophy cup for glory and victory, which inspires the instillation of trophy elements into the design of this watch. The central part of the black dial resembles the silhouette of the trophy bestowed in the champion’s triumphant moment.

It also implies that wearer can manage his time masterly to excel in every competition in life. The eye-catching orange details within the two counters at the top and bottom remind ornaments of the trophy. The trophy-inspired design also extends to the caseback and the strap. Skeletonized in the shape of a trophy, the caseback offers a transparent glimpse into the rotor of the automatic Swiss movement and the meticulous mechanism inside; the rubber strap is specially embellished with screw decorations to match with the trophy theme, creating a masterful design full of sophisticated details.

The most intriguing feature of Trofeo T-Master is its incorporation of two practical functions much favoured by watch enthusiasts: chronograph and full calendar. Housing an ETA 7751automatic Swiss movement, the timepiece adopts a symmetric design with structural balance to present all the chronographic indicators and calendar displays in a clear and organized manner. In the centre, two skeletonized hour and minute hands are accompanied by a fine, orange hand for 60-second time-tracking.

Another thicker and pointed hand is used to pinpoint the specific date inscribed around the dial ring. At 9H,a small counter for seconds is installed with 24-hour day/night display, whereas two more counters are positioned at 12H and 6H upon the central “trophy”: a 30-minute chronographic indicator with week and month displays at the top, and a 12-hour chronographic indicator with moon phases display at the bottom. Furthermore, the right side of the dial is adorned with the distinctive logo of the brand as well as a skeletonized section in diagonal pattern, which partially unveils the movement behind to heighten the aesthetic appeal of the watch’s mechanics. All the time-tracking functions from starting, stopping to resetting can be fully and easily manipulated by the two push buttons on the right side of the case.

With a large-sized 46-mm round case, the watch is characterized by its extraordinary appearance. Despite the big size, the timepiece is still light and handy, as the case is made of titanium and thus provides wearers with an unprecedented experience. Commonly used in the aircraft industry and esteemed as the “space age metal”, titanium is not just a light metal, but also a highly durable and corrosion-resistant one.

The titanium case of the watch is embellished with a matte finishing after special treatment. Together with the titanium bezel decorated with brushing and black PVD techniques, the timepiece conveys a high-tech impression with stylish charisma. In adherence to the lightweight design, the watch is specially equipped with a rubber strap to fit the wearer’s wrist perfectly. Featuring a water resistance up to 100 metres, it is capable of dealing with any outdoors sports.

Trofeo T-Master is limited to 300 pieces worldwide with the limited number engraved at the side of the titanium case, which proves the precious value of the exclusive collectible.

DOXA Trofeo TC Advance Limited Edition

Following the success of the Trofeo TC-Evolution launched in 2013, exerting the performance of multiple materials such as titanium, carbon fiber and rubber, DOXA is presenting the Trofeo TC Advance, an enhanced version of the TC-Evolution model.

DOXA is well-known for its innovative and open-mindedness spirit. The Trofeo TC Advance is a perfect example of a modern, trendsetting sports watch. The case is made of multiple materials including titanium, carbon fiber and rubber, gracing the watch with a sophisticated appearance.

The 48-mm case is even bigger than the 43-mm case of the TC-Evolution, giving the watch an even stronger outlook. The case is mainly made of titanium with sandblasted detail, showing a pleasing glitter to the eyes. In contrast with the titanium case, the rose gold outer ring of the bezel and the crown brings glamour to the watch. The inner part of the bezel is made of carbon fiber, while at the same time the black rubber strap and the buckle are also decorated with carbon fiber, balancing dark and light, elegance and virility. Each watch features a titanium piece on the side of the case, engraved with the number of its sequence of limited edition of 300 pieces.

In line with the masculine case design, the dial features sophisticated layers and details. Below the three watch hands elegantly lies a transparent skeletonized dial that whispers the rhythmic movement of the caliber. The hour-markers at 3H and 9H are each adorned with a baguette shaped orange gem while the white hour-markers at 6H and 12H are printed underneath the sapphire crystal directly to create an eye-dazzling floating illusion.

DOXA TELEMETER

The legendary DOXA Telemeters, first developed in 1939, are an ideal example of the iconic Swiss watch brand’s passion of combining practicability, precision and elegance into an outstanding watch.

With their various dials, the beautiful lettering on it, their multiple uses at day and night and the striking case, the DOXA Telemeters have marked their place in elite sport competitions long ago, favored by people who care about an accurate measurement of time.

50 years after Georges Ducommun founded DOXA in 1889, the Telemeter chronograph was launched in 1939. 77 years later, DOXA has redesigned the original Telemeter of 1939. Doxa’s new Telemeter unites historical values with modern craftsmanship. It represents G. Ducommun’s credo to produce top quality watches at a reasonable price. And like its ancestor, the Telemeter is a unique eye-catcher and distinctive DOXA.

The DOXA Telemeter is available with a stainless steel and yellow gold PVD case. It is equipped with a top-quality Swiss quartz movement, sapphire crystal and a genuine leather strap. Combining accurate timing functions and convenient features, the new DOXA timepiece is a reliable must-have for all vintage watch lovers.

The Telemeter chronograph is a feature which allows the user to measure the distance to an event that can be seen or heard by using the speed of sound. The user starts the chronograph at the instant the event is heard and stops the timing at the instant the occasion is seen or vice versa. Etched around the face is a kilometric scale.

The seconds hand will point to the distance measured on the scale. An example often quoted is measuring the time elapsed from seeing a bolt of lightening to hearing the subsequent clap of thunder. However, this function was not developed to measure the distance to a thunderstorm, but the distance to the enemy during World War II.

DOXA Shark Ceramica XL Limited Edition Diving Watch

The new SHARK CERAMICA XL continues the DOXA’s passion for extreme sports and brand’s mission in making divers’ watches of the finest quality. Introducing a ground-breaking two-tone ceramic case, the new model sustains its outstanding performance in water resistance after a major makeover.

The ceramic bezel has undergone a high-temperature firing treatment that results in the superior durability and anti-scratch quality of the piece, while polishing it with an impeccable shine and a glossy hue for the pleasure of the eyes. The new watch has a distinctive design with the unique combination of steel and two ceramic colours on the bezel. The D196SBU model integrates a black and blue ceramic bezel with a grey inner-bezel of minute indication, which is complemented by silver indexes, whereas the D196SGY model presents an alternative version with a black and grey ceramic bezel and orange-framed indexes in its grey inner-bezel.

The generously designed dial of the three-hand watch assures rapid and accurate readability in poor light conditions thanks to the special luminous coating on the indexes. The eye-catching shark symbol, which is relocated from 3H to 4H, is renewed with a polished surface to enhance its 3D effect, and creates a seascape together with the wave pattern in the background.

The new D196 is fitted with a 48 mm case with a water resistance of up to 300 meters, driven by an ETA 2824 Swiss automatic movement. A further extraordinary design detail is found on the case back, where the brand logo and a shark motif have been incorporated with a 3D effect. This model is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide.

DOXA Grande Calendar

This year at Baselworld, DOXA presents a novelty from the GrandeMetre line – the Grande Calendar, a skilful combination of elegance, minimalist design and practical functionality.

The GrandeMetre is the synonym of fine watchmaking craftsmanship. The importance of the Collection is realized in its models endowed with skeletal dials and COSC certified movements. The new Grande Calendar model introduced this year elevates the functionality of the watch to a higher level by bringing aesthetics and practicality to pinnacle.

Inheriting the simple yet elegant aesthetics of the GrandeMetre collection, the new Grande Calendar presents an exemplary design of sheer grace. Its round 316L stainless steel case, 42 mm in diameter and adorned with a bezel coming in either 18K rose-gold or 18K yellow-gold, underlines the perfect size of a watch and embodies subtle sophistication. The sleekness of the case is complemented by the soft curves of its lugs, forming a timeless composition in harmony.

The patterned inner-ring at the centre of the ivory white dial, which is neatly inscribed with the brand’s logo and the collection’s name, strikes a vivid contrast with the polished outer-ring. Around the dial, the fine bar indexes and precise minute scale work perfectly with the hour, minute and second hands to provide easy-to-read time indications. The prominent highlight of this timepiece is the twin window enclosed within an exquisite rectangular frame at 3H, which serves as a date indicator to offer excellent readability by displaying the numerals big and clear.

While the dial design incorporates classic and simple elements, there are still many refined details embedded in the various parts of the timepiece. For example, the brand logo “DOXA” is embossed on the crown, whilst a name tag available in 18K rose gold, 18K yellow gold or steel is embellished on the buckle. In addition, the initials “GC” – standing for “Grande Calendar” – is engraved at the centre of the transparent caseback, through which one can have a clear view of the meticulous Swiss-made automatic movement. Last but not least, the six screws tightening up the caseback offer a water resistance of up to 50 meters. This model is limited to 500 pieces exclusively.

Swiss watch maker DOXA is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2014 and to commemorate this historical moment, the brand is re-launching its historical masterpiece, the DOXA 8 DAYS MANUFACTURE.

In 1907 DOXA was the first Swiss watch company to patent the 8 DAYS caliber movement. Driven by an original DOXA manufacture movement, the new DOXA 8 DAYS MANUFACTURE is homage to its founder, Georges Ducommun. The DOXA 8 DAYS MANUFACTURE is available in four different black or white dial designs. Either open-heart or not, with or without power reserve indicator or in the black “Pilot” option.

The construction of the watch and its movement are visible thanks to the transparent sapphire crystal case back. The original 8 DAYS caliber is housed in a stainless steel or a 10 micron rose gold plated case.

The genuine black or brown alligator leather strap adds a timeless and elegant touch to this heritage watch.

DOXA CALEX Anemone

Founded in 1889, renowned Swiss watchmaker DOXA has never ceased to show its passion for changing the world of watchmaking by creating countless coveted timepieces for watch lovers and enthusiasts alike. Some notable DOXA timepieces over the years include the “DOXA 8 DAYS” watch movement patented in 1907, the DOXA SUB diving watch put on the market in 1967, as well as many other distinctive series.

In 2014, DOXA is celebrating its 125th anniversary and to commemorate this historical moment, the brand is launching different sophisticated Collections including the CALEX Anemone line. Precious materials, fine workmanship and artistic design, create an exquisite watch for the woman of today.

Two design elements stand out: the mother-of-pearl petals and the delicate trim outlining the blossom. Derived from the Greek, Anemone is “the daughter of the wind”. According to a legend, Venus created the windflower when she sprinkled nectar onto the blood of her dead lover Adonis. These gentle and colourful perennials have inspired to design a feminine watch, reflecting the beauty of its wearer.

The sensual pattern of the petals blends harmoniously with your choice of two-colored dials, either in white with white mother-of-pearl, in white with turquoise mother-of-pearl, in silver with white mother of-pearl or in black with white mother-of-pearl.

This refined timepiece with a simple round 35 mm stainless steel case and a discreet bezel is also available with 60 sparkling diamonds.

Special lugs connect the case to a sophisticated white, black or brown leather strap.

DOXA Into The Ocean XL Collection

This year, Swiss watch brand DOXA introduces their new Into The Ocean XL Collection, extending the brand’s glorious diving watch history since the 60’s through creating the perfect combination of innovations and sophisticated technology.

Inheriting the best features of the DOXA’s legendary SUB 300T series, the Into The Ocean XL collection integrates the state-of-the-art ceramics bezel with stainless steel bracelet presented in a naturally elegant and unique way. The high temperature made the finishing of ceramics gentle and smooth in texture and it is heat resistant, anti-scratch and anti-corrosion.

The Into the Ocean XL limited edition keeps the excellent design of ceramics with Arabic indexes creating attractive contrast on the dial. The 48 mm extra-large watch case emphasizes its elegant sport design and the indexes are coated with luminous material for easier readability. The Shark logo, date display, collection name and brand logo placed at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock position respectively, creating a well balanced design. The sportiness with a touch of the ocean is well shown through the dynamic wave dial design.

This diving watch is available in two models including the black dial with silver white indexes and blue reflector ring (Ref. D137SBK) as well as the distinctively designed orange indexes (Ref. D137SOR). Each model is limited to 1,200 pieces worldwide. Both models have stainless steel black ceramics bezel, bright orange second hand and are equipped with an automatic mechanical movement. DOXA Oceanelle Treasure Collection

To accommodate the elevating taste and increasing requirements in lady’s wristwatches, Swiss watch brand DOXA has applied its pioneering spirit and wealth of experience in designing its brand new deep-sea themed Lady’s Oceanelle Treasure Collection.

This new creation emphasizing bezel and dial is a perfect union with mother of pearl, deep-sea pearls, and diamonds. The designer has infused the mother of pearl into the bezel and inlaid 12 pearls with extra sealing to ensure their attachment, a rarity in watch design. Paired with a white ceramic and stainless steel bracelet, the texture of the entire timepiece is smooth, silky and bright. This collection is truly durable both in use and in aesthetics.

As a tribute to its theme, the mother of pearl dial is decorated with the ornamentation of ocean waves, a shell is engraved at the 6 o’clock position, and the bezel is delightfully designed to resemble a boat’s porthole window. At the 12 o’clock position on the mother of pearl dial, the watch features two large date windows for clear legibility. The other 11 markers are set with beautifully rounded diamonds, which lend the piece with an air of elegance and sophistication.
