Delma Cayman Bronze

Launched in 2019, the Cayman collection pays homage to the sea with inspiration from DELMA’s divers’ watches of the 1970s.

Like the original DELMA skin divers, the Cayman possesses a smaller case in comparison to professional divers’ watches, with a focus on comfort and style.

Delma Cayman Bronze

Innovation in materials and functionality, such as the sapphire crystal and screw-down crown, empower the Cayman with streamlined design and water resistance to 500 meters. At the same time, the ageless style and neutral palate effortlessly lends itself to seaside sports and leisure activities.

Delma Cayman Bronze

The Cayman Bronze edition introduces four natural hued models made of one of the most dynamic and beloved metals. The new sand textured dials contribute to the natural finish in black, blue, brown, and green while large luminescent numerals, indexes and hands in Super-LumiNova C3provide essential legibility in all conditions.

Delma Cayman Bronze

In keeping with the established commitment to excellence in diving instruments, DELMA’s new Cayman Bronze diving watch possesses a matching unidirectional rotating bezel with luminous indexes and numerals. The robust case, bezel, crown and buckle are crafted from antimagnetic and corrosion resistant CUSN6 superior grade bronze.

The hybrid Cordura rubber straps in coordinating tones conform to the shape of the wrist for ultimate comfort and are equipped with quick release spring bars for easy interchangeability.

Delma Cayman Bronze

The DELMA customized movement with gold rotor is revealed through the stainless-steel case back with central porthole.

The Cayman Bronze is limited to 999 pieces and is available on DELMA’s website and in select stores worldwide.

Water resistant up to 4000 meters, the DELMA Blue Shark III Black Edition ventures into some of the world’s most formidable underwater locations with the release of a new limited-edition series featuring a scratch-resistant black DLC case.

Delma Blue Shark III Black Edition

DELMA sent the Blue Shark III Black Edition with cave diver, photographer and explorer Klaus Thymannon a brave expedition deep into the underwater caves of the Yucatan Peninsula in Tulum, Mexico. The area hosts the world’s largest underwater cave system with a network of interconnected submerged labyrinths.

Klaus ventured through passages of exposed groundwater in the jungle floor into narrow corridors of subterranean rock where he observed raw undisturbed geological surfaces created over thousands of years. The DELMA Blue Shark III served as a steadfast guide and connection to life aboveground.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

The family-owned, independent Swiss watch brand Delma revives their iconic Shell Star collection by presenting a new diving watch with the Decompression Timer.

Delma’s professional diving watch Shell Star was introduced in 1975. The newly released Shell Star Decompression Timer is a technical, durable and stylish deep diver.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

The functionality of the Shell Star Decompression Timer is based on research of the 1950s and 60s by Swiss dive pioneers Hannes Keller and Albert Bühlmann. Both former students at the University of Zurich, their combined expertise in mathematics, physics and diving motivated them to perform revolutionary research in the diving field. They recognized the impact of altitude on decompression and developed tables with specific gas mixtures for different elevations.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

Bühlmann focused on identifying the correct combination of gases while Keller performed experimental dives to test their theories. The resulting tables enabled safe decent at sea level and in mountainous terrain and were even adopted by the Swiss military in 1972. Still today considered to be the most intuitive of their kind, they uniquely take into account the need for multiple decompression stops for deeper and longer dives.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

The Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer is optimized for diving with air breathing at 0-700 meters above sea level. The diver uses the unidirectional bezel to time his dive. The vertical scale on the dial at 12 o‘clock corresponds to their dive depth in meters or feet.

It enables the diver to clearly see if their dive is within the no-decompression limit (NDL) where no decompression is required or whether decompression stops are necessary. The NDL time is reflected by the white markings on the rings, while the amount of decompression stops and their duration are shown by the numbers.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

Unlike other comparable timepieces, DELMA’s Shell Star Decompression Timer utilizes Keller and Bühlmann’s research to clearly display when multiple decompression stops are needed for dives at sea level and beyond. Dressed in a robust 44mm diameter case and water resistant to 500 meters (1650 ft), this automatic diving timepiece also features a helium escape valve.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

The  Shell Star Decompression Timer watch is offered with a black, blue or orange unidirectional bezel with either a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap.

Delma Shell Star Decompression Timer

All models are automatic and contain a SW200 movement with date and DELMA customized rotor. Key historical characteristics include a spade central seconds hand, the railway track and orange and white indexes. The stainless steel case is sealed with a transparent case back revealing the intricate movement.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

Swiss watch brand welcomes two new models to its professional diving watch collection. The new Blue Shark III Azores models will support the Megalodon Project in partnership with Delma’s ambassador, ocean conservationist and photographer Magnus Lundborg.

Scheduled for summer 2021, the Megalodon shark tagging project will use pioneering research to better understand the life and habitat of magnificent and endangered sea creatures including the elusive Blue Shark which can be found in the abundant waters surrounding the Azores archipelago.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

Magnus alongside a team of scientist will conduct a study on marine mega fauna by creating a network of satellite tags and documenting the sharks’ behavior through data collection and photography. Their findings will be used to educate the public and government about the vital role sharks play in the ecosystem in order to cultivate conservation strategies and encourage sustainable solutions.

The Azores is an ideal site for this research as it is a crossover point, both in terms of ecological zones and seasonal migration routes for many big underwater mammals and fish. It is also a key breeding ground, acutely positioned to be cool enough in the summer and warm enough in the winter to harbour essential nutrients and sunlight at all times of year.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

The new Blue Shark III models possess textured gradient dials which embody the colors of the subtropical oasis of the Azores at varying depths. The bright blue fading to deep navy and rich turquoise which graduates to vibrant green are reminiscent of the North Atlantic’s range of habitats at varying depths where the participating photographers and scientists will conduct their research and experience the life of endangered sharks and whales firsthand.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

The Azores models have the exceptional strength of the original Blue Shark III and can sustain depths of up to 4,000 meters. They are equipped with quintessential divers’ watch attributes including a helium escape valve and unidirectional bezel.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

Available with a black DLC or stainless steel bezel, each special Azores model comes in a bespoke Blue Shark box outfitted with custom tools and a rubber strap making them easily adaptable for all conditions.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

These new editions give Delma’s renowned Blue Shark series heightened meaning by using their extreme durability and natural beauty to benefit their namesake.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

The purchase of each Blue Shark III Azores will directly contribute to the Megalodon Project and ocean conservation efforts. The combination of captivating colors, extreme strength and philanthropic benefit make the new Blue Shark III Azores the ultimate diving watch for those who cherish the splendor and importance of all marine life.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

DELMA is an independent and family-owned Swiss watch brand, specializing in the design and manufacturing of sports watches, founded in Lengnau (BE) in 1924. In 1969 DELMA launched their first divers’ watch, the Periscope, and started to develop a wide range of marine watches. In 1975, the Shell Star, the brand’s first professional divers’ watch won the recognition of distinguished divers and solidified the brands dedication to performance timepieces.

The Blue Shark, introduced in 2011, represents the first of three limited edition divers’ watches which pushed contemporary boundaries of strength and design. The Blue Shark II introduced new finishing materials while the evolution of the collection is crowned by the Blue Shark III. Created in 2019 to celebrate DELMA’s 95th anniversary and 50 years of DELMA divers’ watches, it is water resistant to an incredible 4,000 meters.

Delma Blue Shark III Azores

The Blue Shark III takes on a new meaning in 2021 with the introduction of the Azores editions. These two special dial options embrace their namesake and support ocean conservation.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

In 1946, Swiss watch brand Delma released its first chronograph at a time when wristwatches were previously seen as exclusive professional instruments for aviators, racers and military men. Named Midland and equipped with a mechanical hand-winding movement, this classic 18-karat yellow gold chronograph indicates the beginning of Delma’s sports watch collection. This year, the brand is marking the 75th anniversary of this exceptional chronograph.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

To celebrate this milestone, Delma has created the Heritage Chronograph LE bicompax chronograph, which houses an automatic movement. It comes with a 43mm diameter polished stainless steel, yellow or rose gold PVD case.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

Limited to only 75 pieces per model, this new watch maintains essential characteristics of the original and features a Tachymeter and Telemeter.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

During those times, the Tachymeter was used to calculate speed, specifically units per hour. While today such measurements are readily presented to us with various electronic instruments, this scale preceded them by using a fixed marker to give an accurate measurement of the rate of travel of a car, train or even a plane.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

The Telemeter, featured on the inner ring of the perimeter was innovated to measure the distance between the timepiece and a visual element through the speed of sound, a prime example being the proximity of lightning through the measurement of its visual appearance and the thunder heard. While this may seem novel today, this functionality was crucial on the battlefield and in various other applications.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

Another vintage era inspired element is the three elongated lines on the minute counter at 3, 6 and 9 minutes, originally used to time phone calls at payphones as they would end in 3-minute intervals (if no further money were inserted).

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

While the new limited edition Heritage is undoubtedly a revival of a historic chronograph, it is also subtly enhanced with new design elements and materials. Cathedral shaped hour and minute hands in a blued finish with old radium luminous markers have been introduced to yellow gold and rose gold PVD case varieties.

Delma Heritage Chronograph Limited Edition

A new black dial version features stainless steel hands with C3SuperLuminova.The central seconds hand rotates through the enlarged and luminous Arabic numerals now displayed in a slightly bolder, modernized typeface.

Delma Oceanmaster Tide

This new watch enables tracking of the ebb and flow of the sea at port or in the most extreme and remote locations. With high and low tide clearly indicated on the sleek bezel, aquatic adventurers will always be aware of tidal conditions.

Delma Oceanmaster Tide

The bezel is to be set by the user according to the local tide table, beginning with aligning the next high or low tide indicator to the position of when it will occur in their specific location. Once set, the streamlined high and low tide indicators help to approximate the tide schedule based on the Lunar Day to forecast the next tidal occurrence.

The subtle graduation of tidal phases reflects the gradual changes in sea level as tidal bulges and recessions occur. In keeping with the collection, the Oceanmaster Tide is also equipped with a tactical planner and points of sail indicators set against a black dial making it a consummate tool for sea explorers.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition

Swiss watch brand DELMA presents Oceanmaster Antarctica, a limited edition diving timepiece to celebrate the discovery of one of the most unique places on earth.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition watch

As per the recommendations of DELMA’s brand ambassador Nick Moloney, the Swiss watch brand developed a new Oceanmaster timepiece to assist him and his team on their expedition to Antarctica in February 2020 to commemorate its discovery 200 years ago.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition watch

When Antarctica’s Princess Martha Coast was first discovered on 27 January 1820, the explorers were presented with a goliath ice shelf that reached out from the frozen continent. This year Nick and his team saw a new perspective of this fragile landscape as its impressive coastline constantly evolves.

While the Southern Ocean surrounding Antarctica is one of the most pristine places on Earth, largely unaffected by humans, the nearly 10,000 diverse species that call this unique habitat home are in danger. The Antarctic Peninsula is one of the fastest warming places on earth. During the team’s expedition, the warmest temperature on the northern tip of Antarctica was recorded, over 20 °C.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition watch

This timepiece is available in a limited edition of 200 pieces marking the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica. A portion of the proceeds of each Oceanmaster Antarctica will be donated to the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition (ASOC) in their mission to protect the environment of the content.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition watch

Fitted with a Helium escape valve, this diving watch has a water resistance of 500 meters. The brand’s fascination with and compassion for this incredible continent is also reflected in the design of the new Oceanmaster. The cool blue dial is inspired by the colors of the ice as it meets the surrounding water while the raised texture represents the unique structure of the frozen landscape.

Delma Oceanmaster Antarctica Limited Edition watch

The special case back solidifies the watch’s connection to Antarctica with an engraved stainless steel representation of the continent. The Oceanmaster Antarctica is equipped with a tactical planner, points of sail indicators and a sturdy nautical bezel preparing it for any challenge.

The independent Swiss watch brand DELMA has been producing precision timepieces for over 95 years. A focus on divers’ watches was established early in the brand’s history and has remained a core component of their innovation and performance. The new Shell Star Bronze evokes heritage and progress in diving as well as in watchmaking.

DELMA’s early maritime success was due to the exceptional technical qualities of their timepieces which continuously evolved as diving grew in popularity and extremity. In the late sixties the brand’s first divers’ watch, the Periscope, demonstrated innovation and potential underwater.

When the Shell Star was introduced in 1975, it met the needs of professional divers and solidified DELMA’s position as experts in the field. These models paved the way for the resilient Blue Shark collection first launched in 2011 to further amplify the brand’s performance and expertise at greater depths.

Solid bronze was selected for the case of the new Shell Star for its unique propensity to evolve and become more personal with exposure to the elements. It is considered a “living” metal as interaction with water, air, and sun cause it to oxidize and create a natural individual patina. Thanks to this fascinating feature, each Shell Star Bronze matures differently with the life of the wearer.

These special characteristics make the new Shell Star Bronze charismatic on the surface and in deep water. Durability and comfort are also essential for the new edition. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, is particularly resistant to corrosion. It has long been used in naval and professional diving applications including portholes and deck fittings as well as dive equipment and has therefore proven to be ideal for the new divers’ watch.

The stainless-steel case back creates a barrier between the responsive bronze and the wrist while the characteristic concave form of the Shell Star case is utilized to ensure ultimate comfort.

In profile, the Shell Star is unmistakably derived from the seventies. The curvy silhouette is reminiscent of quintessential design elements of the period. The wide toothed bezel is accompanied by integrated horns that blend seamlessly into the curvaceous crown protection emanating stylish robustness.

In keeping with the established high standards, DELMA’s new Shell Star Bronze possesses precise dive time control with a matching unidirectional rotating bezel appointed with luminous indexes and numerals.

A helium escape valve and secure screw-down crown heighten the strength and functionality with water resistance to 500 meters. The three hands and indexes with Super-LumiNova C3 ensure great visibility in total darkness.

Faithful to the spirit of the collection, the Shell Star Bronze possesses the key historical characteristics of its predecessors: a spade central seconds hand, railway track and indexes in orange and white.

The sand textured dial in green, blue, and brown are reminiscent of the seabed and the combination of bold and earthy colors are quintessential seventies. The DELMA customized movement with gold rotor is revealed through the stainless-steel case back with central porthole.

The distressed leather bracelet can be paired to match or compliment the dial creating 5 limited edition combinations. Like its predecessors, the Shell Star Bronze outperforms in style and durability.

Equipped with a helium valve, a unidirectional bezel, luminescent numbers and indexes, the Blue Shark established itself as one of the most robust and reliable in its category.

Watches adapted to the practice of scuba diving as a sport of leisure appeared in the 60s and has grown in popularity ever since. To date, only a few professional models are actually designed for deep-sea exploration. Among them, the Delma Blue shark collection stands out as a reference in the category.

The Blue Shark III, which will be officially presented in Basel this March, is a model of exceptional robustness with water resistance to 4000 meters.

A network of outworkers in Grenchen supported the success of the enterprise. All mechanical movements had been assembled in house and passed strict quality controls.

All rough movements mainly had been provided by A. Schild Ltd. Movements such as AS 1250 with “hammer-winding”, and AS 1361 with “rotor-winding” bear witness to important technical innovations at that time.
