Delbana Della Balda

Swiss watch brand Delbana pays tribute to its founder Goliardo Della Balda by releasing a new watch collection.

As part of a return to mechanical timepieces and in Delbana’s 90th year, the Della Balda collection presents new ageless classic watches of enduring craftsmanship.

Delbana Della Balda

In the 1920s, Della Balda ventured away from his birthplace of San Marino to create a new life in Switzerland. He had always longed to own a great timepiece, but at the time it seemed unattainable for someone of his humble beginnings. As a young entrepreneur, he was determined to change that and in 1931 realized his dreams of both owning a great watch and establishing a first-class watch company by introducing his own brand, Delbana.

Delbana Della Balda

It was a time of great advancement in the watch industry with new complications and ornaments being regularly invented. Delbana was to bring the experience of owning great Swiss Made timepieces beyond the elite with affordable quality defining the brands mission and future innovation.

Delbana Della Balda

These new celebratory timepieces embrace original principals of quality and design from the early days of the brand with new proportions and materials. Delbana’s crest is prominently featured at the top of the face in tribute to Della Balda’s visionary spirit.

Delbana Della Balda

The guilloche sunray pattern dial paired with classic sword shaped hour and minute hands pay homage to the Swiss watchmaking tradition. Luminous markers and a distinctive red arrow seconds hand complete the elegant design. The Swiss Made automatic movement can be observed through a transparent case back.

Delbana Della Balda

The stainless-steel case is complemented with rose gold PVD or polished stainless steel, applied indexes and Arabic numerals, paired with a black or white dial on fitting leather strap, creates four distinctive combinations.

Delbana Della Balda

The black dial models feature a black disc with white date, while the white display shows the date with black numerals on a framed white disk giving each example abiding character with endless applications.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

Swiss watch brand DELBANA celebrates its 90th anniversary with the relaunch of the mechanical Recordmaster watch. Originally introduced as a men’s model in the 1950s, the new limited edition Recordmaster watch embodies Delbana’s heritage and DNA of superb quality and unique style at an affordable price and is fitting for women and men.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

When the Recordmaster was originally released, advancements in vinyl records had a profound impact on the music industry and society. This method of recording and transmitting sound has been replaced by continuously evolving audio formats but remains a nostalgic and cherished part of history. Likewise, the fifties and sixties represent a prime moment in Delbana’s history. Production reached an all-time high, distribution was thriving globally, and some of the brand’s most innovative models to date were introduced.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

Emphasis remained on producing accessible Swiss Made timepieces while profound advancements in the watch industry such as hammer-winding movements were popularized. Contemporary technology and trends served as inspiration for Delbana’s new models as with the coveted Long Play Record for the Recordmaster.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

True to the original, the design of the new Recordmaster is characterized by a series of stepped black microgrooves which mimic the texture of a vinyl record and serve as a backdrop for applied arrowhead indexes and retro Arabic numerals.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

The perimeter of the dial is further appointed with a minute track containing oversized circular luminous hour markers that provide a whimsical touch and remind of sheet music and notes while the center of the dial is detailed with a delicate silver guilloche pattern.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

The Recordmaster possesses cathedral shaped, luminous minute and hour hands and a striking, red central seconds hand. A vintage Delbana logo recalls the classic inspiration while the addition of the date at 3 o’clock adds a further design element and convenience. The ridged crown is engraved with the Delbana tower and solidifies the well-proportioned design.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

At 40 mm in diameter, the size of the new model is slightly larger than those of the past while practical and comfortable for daily wear. The polished stainless steel surfaces of the case and clasp give it a modern yet classic appearance.

DELBANA Recordmaster Limited Edition

The mechanical movement recalls Delbana’s early pieces, before quartz was introduced, and is visible through a transparent case back to allow the user to experience the unmistakable quality of an automatic Swiss Made timepiece.

As the fabled femme fatale, the model displays so many sensual facets that one is tempted to stop time for a while. The white or black crystal-set dials boast gracefully curved numerals.

Casablanca
The Casablanca stands out as a discreetly coquettish and glittering model. Like a promenade through an oriental bazaar, it never ceases to pique our curiosity with its voluptuously ornamental style and mother-of-pearl face. To underscore the harmonious character of this charming watch, the dial is color-coordinated with the case that comes in steel or with yellow or red gold plating. Sparkling with the fire of countless Swarovski crystals, it is a timepiece that will remain forever alluring.

Venezia
The Venezia is a role model of architectural lucidity. Although somewhat more modest than its siblings, it is a classic beauty that will survive the course of time unscathed. The rectangular mother-of-pearl dial with four hour markers is framed by Swarovski baguette-shaped crystals.

The seamless transition from the case to the prominent wavy-link bracelet reveals a great sense of proportion. Available with steel and yellow- or red gold-plated cases, the watch is also an attention-getter with a crocodile-patterned leather strap.
