DAVOSA WATCHES – Models with Technical Specifications, Price, Brand Details, History, News and Archives

DAVOSA Argonautic Coral Limited Edition

With this special edition diving watch, DAVOSA supports the non-governmental organisation Coral Guardian, which is specialised internationally in the preservation and renewal of endangered underwater ecosystems.

The team working with biologist and co-founder Martin Colognoli operates on location with local structures to restore corals, and also educates local populations about this important issue. Coral Guardian has been sharing the knowledge and experience it has gained from active marine protection in its training programme, Blue Center, for many years. One of the organisation’s principal aims is to train more people to implement their own local projects around the world.

DAVOSA’s the Argonautic Coral is a professional diving watch with a striking, bright orange or turquoise dial inspired by fluorescent corals. Proceeds from the project go directly to Coral Guardian to support the reforestation of the coral reef on Hatamin Island in Indonesia. Every buyer of an Argonautic Coral receives a tangible receipt of their contribution in the form of a donor certificate in the accompanying booklet.

The Argonautic Coral shares the outstanding features of the Argonautic series, making it a professional instrument underwater and a stylish companion above the water.

The 30ATM water-resistant case with a screw-down crown and helium valve is equipped with an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The SuperLumiNova® BGW9 luminescent material makes the hands, numerals and luminous dot on the bezel shine brightly, even in poor visibility.

Another highlight is the unique bezel material that has been specially developed by DAVOSA. The high-performance material BEYOND STEEL® has super-class properties: It is as heavy as gold (with a density of 19.3g/cm³), almost as hard as diamond (9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale) and withstands the highest heat (melting point at 2,950 C°).

Moreover, BEYOND STEEL® is practically indestructible, absolutely resistant to chemical factors and both rust and nickel-free. It has a hardness rating of four times that of titanium and twice that of steel.

In addition to the limited edition number, the screw-down back is adorned with a stylised coral. The Argonautic Coral is accompanied by a TriaLink stainless steel strap with a diving extension.

The watch comes in a beautifully crafted wooden box and has a recommended retail price of 1,158 Euros.

DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic

Swiss watch brand DAVOSA presents a new version of its Argonautic watch diving watch.

The first version of this timepiece was introduced in 2008. Now the brand has announced the launch of Argonautic BG, a new model with quite a few amazing and interesting details.

Elegant in appearance, DAVOSA Argonautic BG features a 30 ATM water-resistant stainless steel case with new fluted bezel, screw-down crown, and helium escape valve.

The stainless steel TriaLink bracelet with individual screws and diver’s extension make the Argonautic very comfortable to wear both with and without a diving suit. On the new version, the clearly-structured dial has hand-applied satin-finish indexes.

The SuperLumiNova® BG W9 luminous material on the numerals and hands as well as in the luminous dot on the bezel ensures that the wearer can read the watch perfectly, even in poor visibility under water. One small element, the second hand, has also been reworked and its coloured arrowhead points at the second markers.

The high-tech ceramic bezel has long been an impressive feature of the DAVOSA Argonautic. This scratch-resistant feature is there again on the new version.

DAVOSA has developed a new material for the new Argonautic that’s in no way inferior to high-tech ceramics in terms of its technical advantages, and that has the appearance of steel: BEYOND STEEL®.

This high-performance material is as heavy as gold (density 19.3g/cm³), almost as hard as diamond (9.5 Mohs scale) and can withstand extremely high temperatures (melting point 2,950 C°).

BEYOND STEEL® is practically indestructible, completely resistant to chemicals and is both non-corrosive and nickel-free. With a hardness four times that of titanium and twice that of steel, BEYOND STEEL® is an ideal material for the bezel inlays of the new DAVOSA Argonautic. They are a feature of the Argonautic BGBS model.

Besides the classic Argonautic BG with a black dial, there are coloured versions in deep blue and emerald green, as well as a silver-white dial combined with the newly-developed BEYOND STEEL® bezel.

There are also a total of three strap variants to choose from: the sporty TriaLink metal strap, the fine-linked PentaLink metal strap or the fashionable Milanaise metal strap.

DAVOSA Argonautic Carbon Limited Edition

Swiss watchmaker DAVOSA’s origins can be trace back to 1861. To mark its 140 years of watchmaking history, the brand created a limited edition series of its well-liked Argonautic diver’s watch.

Dressed in a Forged carbon case, this special edition is strictly limited to 140 pieces per dial colour series.  Typically used in aviation and aerospace, Forged carbon combines the exceptional qualities of metal and ceramic: making the case lightweight, highly resilient and extremely corrosion-resistant.

The screw-down case back displays a historic diving helmet in relief as well as the limited edition number. Equipped with a screw-in crown and a manual helium valve, watch offers water-resistance to a depth of 300 metres (30 ATM). Inside the case, a concealed DAV3021 Swiss automatic movement ticks away reliably.

Another style-defining feature of the Argonautic Carbon Limited Edition is the use of luminous pigment Super-LumiNova®. In neon orange or neon yellow, it adorns the skeletonised hands, numerals and the first quarter of an hour on the satined, circular ceramic bezel, ensuring excellent contrast during the day as well as good visibility at night.

Each timepiece is equipped with an integrated rubber strap with a folding clasp and diving extension. A second, interchangeable NATO flex strap is included in the exclusive wooden box, along with the limited certificate, to add a touch of variety.

DAVOSA Ternos Professional TT GMT Automatic

Swiss watch brand DAVOSA presents a GMT version of its best-selling Ternos Professional watch.

In the GMT version, a 24-hour display, the distinguishing feature of the second time zone, is displayed prominently on a rotatable diving bezel, giving the Ternos its characteristic sporty yet functional appearance. The coloured bezel inlay is made of high-tech ceramic and is extremely scratch-resistant with a hardness of 1250 HV. It is also heat and corrosion-resistant, and proffers a fine feel thanks to a high-gloss polish.

Until now, DAVOSA has offered the Ternos Professional GMT in a monochrome black version and in combination with a brilliant blue, but fans of the brand requested additional options. DAVOSA has now succeeded in producing a deep red, high-tech ceramic that contrasts superbly with black or dark blue, and yet forms a lasting unit with the dark nuances.

The scale of the 24-hour display, which consists of a triangle, Arabic numerals and dots, is then engraved into the bezel by a high-precision laser before being filled with the contrasting colour. This creates two new variants of the Ternos Professional GMT TT in red-blue and red-black. At DAVOSA, the appendix TT stands for ‘two-tone’.

The proven quality features of the Ternos Professional GMT, with some additional refinement, can also be found in the two new additions to the series.

The well-proportioned, 200 metre-deep, (20 ATM) water-resistant case made from surgical steel with a screw-in crown proffers a moderate diameter of 42 mm and a height of 15.5 mm. From lug to lug, the Ternos Professional measures 50.5 mm across, and hides a reliable automatic DAVOSA calibre DAV 3032, which scores with a power reserve of 42 hours, under its fully threaded, screw-in case back.

The flat sapphire crystal with a magnified area has an anti-reflective coating on the inside. It permits an unimpeded view of the gloss-black, polished dial, with indices and hands equipped with Super-LumiNova in BGW09 quality. This guarantees excellent readability at all times, even in poor visibility.

The GMT hand stands out clearly against the dark dial in either red or blue, depending on the colour of the bezel.

The Ternos Professional TT GMT with its 22 mm wide lug also offers a wide variety of strap combinations: it comes as standard with either a 3-link stainless steel strap: the TriaLink strap, or a 5-link version: the PentaLink strap. Thanks to a denser use of materials, improved clasp mechanics and individually screwed links, the TriaLink and PentaLink straps are stronger and more durable than all previous versions.

Moreover, you still have the additional option of purchasing a textile NATO strap or a newly developed, integrated rubber strap, so every wearer can personally configure their desired model and equip it as they see fit.

This lightweight, 204-gram mechanical masterpiece is available from specialist retailers from late July, starting at a retail price of 1,398 Euros.

DAVOSA Newton Speedometer Automatic

The Newton Speedometer Automatic watch by DAVOSA takes inspiration from the automobiles of the 1950s and 1960s.

Its dial is designed after the cockpit of a legendary sports car. On the lowest level, the hour hand has been replaced by a rotating disc that shows the hour in a window set in the upper third of the next dial level by means of a sleek red arrow. An index scale shows the minutes, which the only conventional watch hand circles from the centre with great aplomb.

The outer frame is formed by a third level which, in place of conventional hour markers, repeats the minute scale in increments of five in a classic, modest font.

At the centre, a permanent seconds display rotates discreetly in the form of a matt silver disc accented with a red line.

This fine composition is available in neutral black with white Super-LumiNova BGW09 or in bicolour grey-black with natural Super-LumiNova, which develops a yellowish green shimmer in daylight. In poor light, the luminous material lets you read the hours and minutes in a pale blue or pale green.

The DAVOSA Newton Speedometer Automatic is powered by a Swiss DAV 3032 (based on Sellita SW 240 calibre) automatic movement, whose attractive skeletonised rotor with its gold-backed DAVOSA star can be glimpsed through the glass back.

The back is individually screwed in four places, and is part of the three-piece stainless steel (316L) case, which is manufactured according to cutting-edge methods.

Matt and polished surfaces alternate, the bezel takes up the curvature of the transparent, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, while the conical crown is knurled for a good grip and bears the DAVOSA star at its centre. The timepiece withstands an atmospheric pressure of 5 atm.

The Newton Speedometer’s handmade strap with its pin buckle employs an Italian roughened leather with a soft feel yet great robustness. It is combined with a lining of black, full-grain nubuck with a fine perforated pattern, ensuring exceptional comfort on the wrist.

The strap with its contrast stitching is available in deep black or stone grey with a hint of sage in both normal and XL lengths.

DAVOSA Ternos Professional Matt Suit Limited Edition

Swiss watch brand DAVOSA expands its Ternos Professional diving collection by presenting the ‘Matt Suit’ edition.

This new variant is a limited edition of 500 pieces. The main distinctive feature of the new Matt Suit edition is that every detail of the watch, from the case to the dial to the hands, has been given a fine satined finish.

Its 42mm diameter and 15.5mm high case is made from brushed surgical steel. The case is topped by a flat sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inside of the glass.

The screw-down back also comes with an elaborately structured carbon centrepiece, as well as the limited edition number. The DAVOSA Ternos Pro Matt Suit is equipped with the high-quality Swiss DAV 3021 automatic movement, based on a SW200 Sellita movement.

The Matt Suit version proves that a matt finish can still be multi-faceted: The design is underpinned by a structured matt dial, against which the stainless steel indices and hands with their satined surfaces and white Super-LumiNova BGW09 filling really stand out.

The equally matt white minute markings provide contrast on the circular satined bezel insert made from high-tech ceramic, as well as ensuring optimum readability.

The bezel is executed in either navy blue or deep black to match the dial colour. The DAVOSA Ternos Pro Matt Suit is completed by a fully brushed metal strap with screwed links, a safety buckle and diving extension.

Water resistant up to 500 metres (50 ATM), the DAVOSA Ternos Matt Suit is equipped with an automatic helium valve set at 9 o’clock. The valve regulates gas pressure inside the watch and ensures continuous pressure equalisation while resurfacing to stop the sapphire crystal from being pushed out of the case.

The Ternos Matt Suit limited edition models come in a lacquered wooden case with a certificate, and are available from specialist retailers at a RRP of 948 Euros.

DAVOSA Ternos Lady

The Ternos Ceramic series is one of DAVOSA’s most popular models. Its components include a high-tech, ceramic bezel; scratch-resistant, transparent, anti-reflective sapphire crystal; a meticulously crafted stainless steel case capable of withstanding pressures of 20 ATM; a precise Swiss DAV 3021 automatic movement, ensuring long-lasting, functional reliability.

The design is very subtle for a sporty diver’s watch and truly deserves the ‘classic timeless’ attribute. The Ternos not only cuts a fine figure over a wetsuit, but looks stylish in combination with a single-breasted business suit.

The Ternos Lady has the very same quality characteristics of the Ternos Ceramic; it only differs in its dimensions. The case has a diameter of 36.5 mm and a height of 11.8 mm, and is thus more suited to a narrower wrist.

The colour variants of the Ternos Lady are also based on its big brother and the classic colour versions of a navy blue or black dial and matching high-tech ceramic bezel.

The feminine highlight, however, is the white, high-tech ceramic version of the Ternos Lady, featuring pale grey numerals on the bezel and a polished white dial, which coordinates perfectly with this spring’s colourful, patterned fashion trends.

DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze TT Limited Edition

Inspired by the historical background of bronze in its association with diving, DAVOSA has developed the brand’s latest diver’s watch, the Argonautic Bronze TT. After the Argonautic Bronze with complete bronze case, launched by DAVOSA last year, the successor model appears in two-tone design (TT = Two Tone), likewise limited to 300 pieces.

While the case is made of satin-finished stainless steel, the distinctive bezel with an illuminated dot in the triangle above the twelve is made of marine-grade bronze. While it initially gleams in a warm reddish golden tone, it will oxidise over time and develop an unmistakable patina that makes each piece unique.

The textured black dial under the scratch resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal bears the suitable inscription Vintage Super LumiNova in the colour “Old Radium” on the indices and hands.

The waterproof, 22 mm wide integrated rubber watch band is also black, with stainless steel folding clasp. Overall a combination that is as elegant as it is distinctive. The 43 mm diameter and 13.5 mm height of the case also are not least in representing this.

Underwater, the DAVOSA Argonautic TT scores with all the features of a professional diver’s watch: The case with screw down crown and back is waterproof down to 300 meters and equipped with a manual helium valve at the 10 o’clock position – this protects the watch and the diver alike: When the valve is open, the lighter helium molecules escape from the case first, which prevents the crystal and crystal seal from being blown open by excess pressure so that the watch will maintain its function as a reliable timepiece.

Dive times can be set precisely by using the rotating bezel ring – and thanks to the clearly structured dial with SuperLumiNova on the indices and hands, it is possible to read them quickly and clearly at any time, even underwater.

The DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze TT houses the Swiss automatic DAV 3021 movement with a power reserve of 38 hours. And the individual engraving of the model number on the case back as well as the elaborate wooden packaging are reminiscent of the fact that it remains an exclusive one-of-a-kind piece.

The suggested retail price is 898 Euros.

DAVOSA Ternos Professional GMT Automatic Black&White Limited Edition

DAVOSA launches the Ternos Professional GMT Black&White in collaboration with photographer and freeskier Luca Tribondeau.

The Austrian sports ace has taken part in alpine ski races and the new slopestyle discipline at the Olympic Games in Sochi; he is also a passionate surfer and in recent years has begun to make a name for himself as a photographer. With the new limited edition DAVOSA Ternos Professional GMT, he now turns his hand to watch design.

DAVOSA gave Luca Tribondeau the opportunity to incorporate his own ideas in realising an individual version of the popular GMT model of the Ternos Professional. The result is the 500-piece, limited edition Black&White.

The Ternos Professional GMT is equipped with the tried and tested Swiss DAV 3032 automatic movement with hour, minute and central second hands, GMT and date display with magnifying lens function at 3 o’clock. It is integrated in a stainless steel case that is 42 mm in diameter and 15.5 mm in height.

The striking hands and indices – a triangle at 12 o’clock, rectangles at 9 and 6 o’clock and circles at the full hours – are already familiar from the Ternos Professional, but have received an anthracite plating to highlight them against the white dial. The use of luminescent Super-LumiNova on the hands and numerals ensures optimum functionality even in restricted visibility.

New design elements include a white dial and an instantly discernible, bright orange GMT hand that lets you read the hour in a second time zone on the surrounding half white, half black ceramic bezel.

The watch is topped by a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, while the underneath is protected by a screw-down, stainless steel back. The case is water resistant to 20 ATM for risk-free use in and under water.

At Luca Tribondeau’s request, the watch is supplied with two contrasting straps. As well as a classic stainless steel strap, there is a robust, replacement nylon strap that runs underneath the case.

The Ternos Professional GMT Black&White comes in an exclusive wooden box with an accompanying booklet. This timepiece retails at 1348 Euros. The Ternos Professional GMT is available from July 2019.

DAVOSA Newton Lady Automatic

The new Newton series from DAVOSA pays homage to Isaac Newton, the inventor of our time. The new ladies’ watches from Newton series boast shimmering Mother of pearl dials.

Mother of pearl has a matte, iridescent lustre when touched by light, as a result of its particular surface structure. If you move it in the light, it shimmers iridescently. It is this natural brilliance that distinguishes the dial of the DAVOSA Newton Lady, which comes in either natural white, ultramarine or oyster grey.

A guilloché area in the centre of the dial is encircled by a smoothly finished zone upon which the hand-applied, silver-plated figures are positioned, which in turn is finished by a detailed minute scale and luminescent dots. The hands are gracefully integrated and beautifully visible at night – also thanks to SuperLumiNova BGW9.

The 3-part stainless steel case with a diameter of 34mm, a height of only 10.5 mm and a water resistance of 5ATM is very comfortable on the wrist. The curved sapphire crystal cover glass ensures excellent resilience.

Precisely delineated satined and polished areas underscore the exceptional production quality of the Newton Lady Automatic, which is optionally available with a ring of 56 diamonds on the bezel in every dial version.

Turn the watch over and the rear view is no less attractive, thanks to a glass back that provides a clear view of the DAV 3021 Swiss automatic movement. The newly developed skeletonised DAVOSA rotor is in clear sight: It refers to the compass in the DAVOSA logo and is finely embellished with Geneva stripes.

With the new Newton Lady Automatic from DAVOSA, the choice of strap is far from easy. A lady must choose between a sporty, three-row, metal link strap and five leather straps made from robust Saffiano leather in the colours natural white, ultramarine, oyster grey, mocha brown and crimson red.

The DAVOSA Newton Lady Automatic is now available from certified DAVOSA watch retailers, retailing at between 838 and 1,998 Euros, depending on the model.

DAVOSA Newton Pilot Moonphase Chronograph Limited Edition

The new Newton series from Swiss watch brand DAVOSA pays homage to Isaac Newton (1643–1727).

The 300-piece limited edition Newton Pilot Moonphase Chronograph, with an edition plaque at 9 o’clock, is the flagship timepiece of the series. Within the case resides one of the most complicated movements ever devised, a DAV 3051 based on an ETA/Valjoux 7751: the automatic calibre displays hours, minutes and seconds.

It boasts a stopwatch function, a moon phase display and a date hand tipped with a red airplane silhouette, while the weekday, month and time are shown as a 24-hour display.

This top-of-the-range model is also distinguished by its fine embellishment – including pearlized and côte circulaire bridges, blued screws, rhodium plating and a newly constructed, highly skeletonized DAVOSA rotor with Geneva stripes.

The movement is set within a contemporary case with a water resistance of 5 ATM, featuring a screw-down back with four individual screws, a viewing window and a perfectly proportioned 44 mm diameter and 14 mm height.

The Newton Pilot Moonphase Chronograph displays class in every detail: Matt and polished surfaces alternate, the bezel continues the gentle curve of the transparent, anti-reflective sapphire glass, the conical crown has a knurled edge and displays the DAVOSA star atop. The pushers are encased within a satined cuff, while they themselves are polished steel.

Even the optionally blue, grey or black dial, with its fine sunburst finish, underscores the exceptional level of quality in the production. Circular guilloche counters are set one level deeper.

With the blue and grey dials, the raised steel figures with a satined brushed finish are applied by hand – a detail that is reflected in the frame of the hands. This serves to increase readability and underscores the coherent design.

The black version is optimised for the particular needs of pilots: The hands of all the versions are applied with white luminescent material BGW09, however the black version also has raised luminescent figures. The blueish light ensures precise readability even in darkness.

Depending on the dial colour, the Newton Pilot Moonphase comes with a navy blue, umbra brown or black, smooth cowhide strap with modern contrast stitching. Extra thought has even gone into the stitching, which is designed to ensure additional stability.

Every watch is supplied with a certificate with the respective edition number and corresponding watch specifications. The Newton Pilot Moonphase is available from authorised specialist watch dealers from June 2019 at a recommended retail price of 2398 Euros.

DAVOSA Argonautic Lumis T25

The Lumis version of the DAVOSA Argonautic has been part of the popular Argonautic range since 2013. The watch boasts borosilicate glass tubes filled with a mix of gaseous tritium that are positioned on the hands and hour markings. These ensure sustained luminosity without any drop in intensity – even in complete darkness, without an external energy source. This makes the Lumis models particularly suited for use in very poor visibility, both in and above water.

The new Argonautic Lumis T25 model also possesses this characteristic feature. However, the following details have been remodelled in comparison to its predecessor:-

  • The new model features steel indices with a finely satined surface for the hour markings. The indices provide custom mounts for the gaseous tritium light sources that are embedded in a special shockproof gel.
  • The inner dial zone has a guilloché pattern of abstract waves that reference how the watch is designed to be used in water.
  • The seconds hand is easy to read in the dark thanks to a luminous dot of BGW09 SuperLumiNova.
  • The date window has been rendered more subtle with white figures set against a black background.
  • A high-tech ceramic bezel rises conically between the stainless steel bezel and inner glass rim; the luminous dot of BGW09 SuperLumiNova in the centre of the top triangle provides additional orientation.
  • The helium valve at 10 o’clock is clearly marked with the sign for helium.

The new Argonautic Lumis T25 from Swiss watchmaker DAVOSA embodies a professional divers’ watch with a helium safety valve, cutting-edge luminous properties, a high-tech ceramic bezel inlay and subtle colour accents. This robust divers’ watch is now available to purchase from selected watch retailers starting from 858 Euros.

Tritium is a colourless gas otherwise known as extra-heavy hydrogen. The name originates from the Greek word ‘tritos’ meaning third, and refers to the three components of the atom (3H). Tritium has been used for decades in all sorts of applications where constant, independent and long-lasting light sources are essential.

In the past, luminous tritium was applied directly to the dial. Today’s watchmakers are more careful and fill the gas into fine tubes made from borosilicate glass, a highly resilient and ISO certified glass that is used in chemical engineering. These Gaseous Tritium Light Sources (or GTLS) are not only exceptionally safe; they also guarantee the watch wearer at least ten years’ constant luminosity.

DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze Limited Edition

In this timepiece, Swiss watchmaker DAVOSA combines a historic material with high functionality of a modern diving watch.

For centuries bronze has been the material of choice for nautical devices as well as for the first diving bells. Now some watch manufacturers have begun rediscovering this heritage material. Bronze is easy to work with and its unique, yellowish red sheen gives it a distinct look compared to materials like gold, silver and stainless steel.

The Argonautic Bronze comes in a limited edition of only 300 timepieces. Once again, Swiss watchmaker DAVOSA displays its expertise in making a watch with intricate mechanical features. While a helium valve, the use of high-tech ceramics and a sophisticated automatic movement ensure high levels of safety and precision when diving.

The surface of the watch reacts to its wearer and prevailing climatic conditions, so the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze develops an individual patina in the shortest time. This makes each watch one of a kind in what is already a strictly limited edition.

When it comes to safety, quality and design, the timepiece certainly fulfils all the requirements of a first-class divers’ watch. At the heart of the watch resides a Swiss Sellita SW200 precision automatic movement, housed in a bronze case with a diameter of 42 mm and height of 13.5 mm.

Anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a screwed crown complete the look. An elaborate relief of a stylised diving helmet with a water surround decorates the screw-down, black PVD-plated, stainless steel back and indicates that the watch is part of a limited edition.

The hands, indices and the satined or polished bezel inlay made from high-tech ceramic and detailed with vintage, ‘old radium’ SuperLuminova team up beautifully with the colour play of the bronze and plated stainless steel.

In combination with the clearly structured, either blue or black dial, a glance suffices to instantly grasp all important information. Finally, the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze is a professional divers’ watch, offering water resistance down to 300 metres where light is scarce.

And thanks to a manual helium valve, you can rely fully on the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze when resurfacing: with an open valve, the lighter helium molecules leave the case first, thus preventing the glass and seal from pushing out of the case as a result of excess pressure. Diving and resurfacing times can be set precisely using the rotatable bezel ring, making you perfectly prepared for every dive.

The engraved serial number, located on the side of the case at 9 o’clock, is proof of the model’s exclusivity. The watch comes in a presentation case made from varnished wood with a matching bronze DAVOSA tag. The recommended retail price for the DAVOSA Argonautic Bronze lies at 1198 Euros.

DAVOSA Ternos Professional Black Suit Limited Edition

The DAVOSA Ternos Professional is a popular divers’ watch thanks to its design, quality and functionality. Now, the brand presents a new limited, 500-piece edition of this watch featuring a black-on-black design. The 42 mm-diameter surgical steel case of this new version is treated with black DLC plating, which makes the watch more scratch resistant, tougher and more resilient.

The case is topped by flat sapphire crystal with an inner antireflective coating and the screw-down back boasts an elaborately structured carbon design and carries a limited-edition number as an additional feature of the DAVOSA Ternos Pro Black Suit.

It houses the high-quality Swiss DAV 3021 automatic movement, based on a Sellita SW200 movement.

The Black Suit proves that black can be multifaceted: a carefully coordinated combination of different textures makes all the difference here. Indices and hands with satined surfaces and a filling of black Super-Luminova create a subtle contrast against the structured, matt black dial. Despite their black colour, the glossy figures of the minute scale are easily readable against the circular, matted bezel inlay of high-tech ceramic.

Black Suit is completed by a DLC-plated or pure stainless-steel bracelet, depending on the version, and a metal strap with screwed links, safety buckle and a diving extension.

Water resistance of up to 500 metres (50 ATM) allows for longer expeditions into deeper and darker waters. The automatic helium valve at 9 o’clock regulates pressure inside the watch and ensures continual pressure equalization while resurfacing to prevent the sapphire crystal from being lifted out of its surround. Back on land, this piece of professional divers’ equipment is transformed into a timepiece with a classic design idiom and a modern look.

The limited-edition models come with a certificate in a varnished wooden presentation case.

DAVOSA manufactures high‐quality Swiss timepieces and is a long‐established name in the watch industry. The brand is valued by connoisseurs for its high quality, classic design and, certainly in the luxury watch segment, its moderate prices.

DAVOSA watches are characterised by a classical approach throughout. Elegant and sporty watches alike can be found in the current collections. They include pilot‐style chronographs, large regulators with a peripheral hour hand and robust diver’s watches. The collections also feature pocket watches and skeleton watches with an almost entirely visible movement. The latter are available in limited edition series as they feature exceptionally refined movements.

History of DAVOSA Watch brand

The art of watch making first gained a foothold in the mountainous Jura region of Switzerland, which stretches from Basel to Geneva, more than 200 years ago. In those days farmers often learned this craft as a means of filling the long winter months and boosting their meager income. For some of them, this challenging and highly sophisticated craft became a true passion.

The history of DAVOSA Swiss Watches can be traced back to one of these families of farmers and watchmakers from the Jura Mountains. The Hasler family was a family of four brothers. Two of them left their small mountain village in the “valle de Joux” to work in watch factories in Geneva and Biel. The fourth brother, Abel Frederic Hasler (born 1861), began manufacturing small series of silver pocket watch cases with the greatest precision craftsmanship from 1881.

Six of his sons went on to inherit his watch making talent. For one of his sons, Paul Hasler (1883-1977), watch making became both a passion and a vocation. Even as a small child, he was fascinated with the complicated watches he discovered on his father’s work table. Upon completing his watchmaker training, he saved up a little capital and a few years later, was able to found his own business, Paul Hasler Terminages d’horlogerie, which specialized in watch assembly for a range of prestigious watch brands.

Difficult years ensued from 1930 to 1936. It was a time of high unemployment and many companies were forced to close down their operations. Paul Hasler managed to prevail thanks to his high standards of quality, which were greatly valued by his customers. By this stage, he was already employing twelve additional watchmakers.

David Hasler (1897-1951), who had already worked for his brother Paul as technical director for many years, joined the company in 1946. This partnership marked the beginning of Hasler Freres. The company soon began designing their own creations and transforming them into finished timepieces. Their circle of customers was not only limited to Europe; one of their most important export markets was the United States. Licence holders from all over the world without their own production process profited from the services of the Hasler brothers. The company finally moved into its current premises in Tramelan in 1953.

Business continued to prosper. In 1961, a third generation of Haslers, Wilfred and Eric Hasler, joined the business as joint partners after completing their watchmaker training. Kurt Wittwer joined the company in 1964 to support the commercial side of the business. He succeeded in opening up new markets and supervised product development from the initial creative idea to the finished product. The company began specializing in timepieces with sophisticated mechanical clockwork.

During the 1970s, Switzerland started to come under pressure from watchmakers from the Far East. The technical revolution brought about by the introduction of the quartz watch almost succeeded in ousting the traditional mechanical watch from the market. In response to this new market demand, Hasler & Co S.A., a legal entity from 1974, also began incorporating quartz watches into its product range.

1993 marked the beginning of sustainable development of the DAVOSA brand. 1993 was also the year in which Hasler & Co S.A. began cooperating with watch distributor, Bohle GmbH, who had been active on the German market since the 1960s. The mechanical watch was already experiencing something of a renaissance in Germany, where a high-quality, limited collection of mechanical timepieces under the brand name DAVOSA became a resounding success.

This collection included 3-hand automatic chronograph with 7750/7751 Valijoux caliber, as well as power reserve and regulator models and a mechanical alarm watch. Watch retailers and watch aficionados alike appreciated the combination of superior workmanship, high mechanical precision and contemporary design which is classic enough to endure.

The success of this first collection prompted further successful series and the cooperation between Hasler & Co. SA and Bohle GmbH became ever closer over the years. In 2000 Corinna bohle took over responsibility for strategic brand development, and both marketing and distribution are now managed from Germany. The contours of the characteristics DAVOSA design were further honed and brand quality was optimized through the acquisition of new specialist suppliers.

One result of this repositioning and a particular milestone in the brand history was the production of the first limited series can now be found in the portfolios of private watch collectors. Today the DAVOSA brand, carried by an independent, family-run company, has a global presence and is an integral part of the mechanical watch world.

DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic

The Argonautic diving watch collection from Swiss watch brand DAVOSA gets a new member, the Argonautic BG Automatic, a professional diver’s watch with a helium escape valve, first-class luminous properties, a ceramic bezel inlay and innovative colours.

The Swiss Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement in its screwed stainless steel case keeps perfect time on the way down. Scratch-resistant, anti-glare sapphire crystal guarantees a clear view of the tidily designed dial with its 15-minute scale on the bezel inlay to provide orientation in an emergency ascent. And thanks to the extension to the stainless steel strap with a safety clasp, the DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic can be easily worn on top of a wetsuit.

The state-of-the-art Super-LumiNova BG W9 luminous pigment ensures exceptional luminous properties. This material has been applied to the figures and hands, and now for the first time to the 15-minute scale and all the figures on the ceramic bezel. Under natural light, this best-in-class luminous pigment appears white; in the dark it shines brightly and clearly in clear blue.

A helium escape valve protects the watch when ascending to the water’s surface. When underwater, helium can permeate any seal, but it cannot escape quickly enough from the case when resurfacing.

The danger is that the glass can burst out of its case. However, thanks to a manual helium escape valve, a controlled equalisation of pressure inside the watch can be achieved when ascending to the surface. Moreover, the valve at 10 o’clock has been technically optimised and is now clearly identifiable thanks to the helium symbol on the crown face.

The crown at 3 o’clock is subject to considerable stress from being screwed open and shut. A diver must ensure it is properly closed before every dive, and this often occurs when the diver is already wearing gloves and under suboptimal climatic conditions. However, thanks to a new tube and crown construction, DAVOSA’s technicians have found a way to optimise the interaction of these components, thus guaranteeing an even longer lifespan.

Back to the surface and you will see the DAVOSA Argonautic BG Automatic also looks great on the wrist. Thanks to an elaborate furnace process, a sandy grey and a navy blue have been produced in high-tech ceramic in addition to the more classic black. The dials are coordinated with the bezel rings in colour as well as in their matt, slightly grainy texture. A high-precision finish results in a fine colour dot in the triangle, providing an additional colour accent on the bezel inlay in yellow, orange or white, depending on the model.

The new Argonautic BG is now available from 758 Euros from selected DAVOSA concessionaires.

DAVOSA Aviator Quartz

The DAVOSA Aviator Quartz masters all the demands of a pilot watch. This pilot watch comes in two different versions: as a 3-hand timepiece or with a chronograph function, driven by tried and tested Swiss-made quartz movements. The chronograph distinguishes itself as a true pilot’s watch thanks to its fly-back function: pressing the pusher stops the current time measurement and the hand flies back to zero; on releasing the pusher a new stopwatch process begins.

The DAVOSA Aviator Quartz proves once again why pilot’s watches are the second most popular category of wristwatch after diver’s watches: they make a strong statement in high-quality, masculine design.

The satined, partially polished, stainless steel case with its 42 mm diameter,11 mm height and a water resistance of 5 ATM is contained by a fluted bezel and topped by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The clean design provides clear indices, large, easily readable figures and hands set against a black, blue or silvery white dial, depending on your choice.

The look is complemented by a robust blue, black or brown leather strap with contrasting stitching and a pin buckle. And finally, the seconds hand has a pleasing detail to offer: the outer part is red, thus increasing readability and underscoring the autonomous design of this stylish wristwatch.

The DAVOSA Aviator Quartz retails at 298 Euros for the 3-hand version and 398 Euros for the chronograph.

DAVOSA Axis Automatic

A stunning member of the deer family, the axis deer is distinguished by its elegant and regular proportions, and a reddish brown coat with characteristic white spots.  Taking inspiration from the lively axis deer, the DAVOSA Axis Automatic is made for use outdoors: with scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a robust satined and polished or black-plated stainless steel case, water resistance of 5 ATM and a tried and tested SW200 Swiss automatic movement.

A quick glance suffices to take in the clearly readable dial – no matter the weather conditions, by day and at night. With its 42 mm diameter, the case has enough space for large, striking yet simple figures and indices, as well as self-confident hands.

A coating of Super-LumiNova or vintage, ‘old radium’ Super-LumiNova on the figures and hands ensures easy orientation, even at night. And as an extra design detail, the seconds hand and central indices are highlighted in red or orange.

One special feature of the DAVOSA Axis Automatic comes into its own when the temperature drops. Note that icy temperatures could possibly harm this wristwatch – the quality movement is more than a match for them. No, it is the fact that the leather strap runs right under the case, covering its bottom surface completely. So cold metal will not touch your skin, just the pleasantly soft, warm leather strap with its visible white seams and stainless steel studs, recalling the distinctive coat markings of the axis deer.

That the Axis Automatic is a true DAVOSA is clear from the high-quality craftsmanship, the logo on the dial and the fluted crown bearing the distinctive DAVOSA star. The watch retails at 698 € for the stainless steel version and 728 € for the black PVD-plated version.

DAVOSA Evo 1908 Automatic

The DAVOSA Evo 1908 Automatic harks back to the era of the first moulded cases.

For many years, the pocket watch reigned supreme in the world of timekeeping. Then, for predominantly practical reasons, the watch migrated from the waistcoat pocket onto the wrist. The wish to be quickly apprised of the time was part of a long process – an evolution, one could say. The same is true for the gradual transition from rounded to moulded cases at the turn of the century.

The watch series DAVOSA Evo 1908 offers a snapshot of this fascinating transition phase. Its highly polished stainless steel case with fine satined details still displays conspicuous curves as a reference to the pocket watch. With dimensions of 39.5 mm by 36 mm, it has a barrel-like, tonneau form. The hours and minutes are still displayed separately from the seconds. And finally, the classic model features a guilloché pattern in its dial design.

Despite all these reminiscences of times gone by, the remaining features of the DAVOSA Evo 1908 prove that it is a modern, exclusive timepiece. The Swiss SW260 movement is an unusual variation of the 3-hand automatic with date display.

The striking Arabic figures, indices and the date at 3 o’clock are easily readable at a glance. The back of the 12 mm-high case is screwed down fourfold and is water resistant to 50 m (5 ATM). Moreover, the Vintage leather straps with a pin buckle are all one of a kind: the leather is individually selected and colour-coordinated to suit each dial version.

There are two versions to choose from. The classic version is available with a light or dark guilloché dial, with a minutes display on an inner ring, as well as polished and hand-applied hands coated with Super-LumiNova. Straps and stitching harmonise beautifully. In contrast, the sporty version is immediately striking thanks to contrasting stitching on the brown or black straps. The cream, blue and black dials without an inner ring are more restrained, with Super-LumiNova on the hands and hour markers.

Both the dial and the scratch-resistant sapphire glass are doubly curved to match the case form. A further sophisticated detail: the extended back ensures a perfect transition to the strap and prevents any kinks. All the models in the DAVOSA Evo 1908 series retail at 998 €.

DAVOSA Vireo Medium Quartz

The Vireo Medium Quartz and the Vireo Medium Quartz Chronograph watches are now more suitable for the slimmer wrists thanks to the reduced diameter of the case. A mere five millimetres, but they make a huge difference in this case: the new Vireo Medium Quartz has a case diameter of 36 mm instead of the 41 mm of the predecessor version. It makes a more delicate, elegant and lightweight impression, which is much more in keeping with slimmer wrists.

In all other respects, the Vireo Medium Quartz and the Vireo Medium Quartz Chronograph are true Vireos with their striking inner ring, satined brush finish, and hand-applied, Super-LumiNova-coated indices and hands. They make a powerful and fresh statement on the wrist, as the name already implies.

This makes them elegant companions on professional and social occasions, as well as reliable partners for sports pursuits. Little can damage the scratch- resistant, curved sapphire crystal. The back of the stainless steel case is firmly screwed and the polished, satined stainless steel strap with its folding clasp is extremely robust. Moreover, the Vireo Medium Quartz series offers all the accustomed functionalities of the Vireo family.

The three-hand Vireo Medium Quartz is 10.4 mm in height and contains a reliable Ronda 505 Swiss quality movement. Its inner ring only carries the figures for the quarter hours and quarter minutes display. Time is also readable in 24-hour mode on an additional inner ring on the dial. The crown with the typical DAVOSA star sits at the classic 3 o’clock position.

Inside the Vireo Medium Quartz Chronograph with its metal strap and case height of 10.8 mm beats a proven Ronda 5030 Swiss Quartz movement. The crown and pushers can be deployed to set the totalizers, as well as the hour, minute and second hands. The inner ring provides orientation for the chronograph display.

Both models are available with white, blue or black dials. Thanks to a Super-LumiNova coating and water resistance of 5 ATM, the Vireo Medium Quartz and Vireo Medium Quartz Chronograph can be worn day and night to a depth of 50 meters under water. Either way, the Vireo family is understandably proud of the Vireo Medium Quartz and the Vireo Medium Quartz Chronograph, retailing at 298 € and 398 € for the metal bracelet versions or 248 € and 348 € for the leather strap versions respectively.

DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic

Swiss watch brand DAVOSA presents the first dedicated diving watch for free divers in association with Free-diving champion Nik Linder.

Nik Linder holds five world records for distance diving under ice, two  German records for distance diving in a lake, the record for the longest underwater kiss, as well as the longest apnoea dive, suspended from the ceiling with his head in an aquarium – there’s no question that Nik can hold his breath for long and knows when to resurface.

The DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic boasts a multi-coloured ring around the dial. It sports the French national colours only by chance. In fact the colours blue, white and red replicate an internationally recognised breathing exercise in free-diving: A breath is taken during the five-second blue phase, it is held for 15 seconds (white area) and then air is expelled over 10 seconds (red area). With the help of this colour code, the freediver can concentrate fully on this vital breathing exercise without needing to count or use a stopwatch.

The watch must be held in an upright position for these breathing exercises – without the need for improvised support, if possible. The DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic offers the perfect solution, and is thus a watertight professional freediving instrument. By unscrewing the crown at 3 o’clock, the middle section of a slightly curved, 42 mm stainless steel case can be extracted.

Thanks to a hinged ring that is attached to the middle section, the diver can now safely erect the remaining watch case while performing breathing exercises. Nik Linder added a further feature to the DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic: In contrast to scuba diving where the minute hand is crucial, in freediving it’s all about the seconds. Which is why the second hand bears a red tip, enabling exact reading of the seconds at all times.

The DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic is a worldwide innovation, uniting the highest Swiss watchmaking art with the unique demands of the freediver. A reliable Swiss SW 200 automatic movement is contained in a case with a water resistance of 20 ATM. Time can be read via the bezel with its rotatable ring.

The coloured ring on the outer edge of the dial is additionally divided into seconds. And the hands and Arabic figures are naturally coated with Super-LumiNova, so the DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic remains readable even with poor underwater visibility.

The DAVOSA Apnea Diver Automatic comes in three different versions: with a satined and scratch-resistant stainless steel case and black dial or alternatively with a completely PVD black plated case. Furthermore, a bicolor version with a stainless steel case in combination with a black bezel and PVD black plated crowns will be available.

Each set also includes a second interchangeable strap, which is also made from wearable, lightweight and water-resistant rubber.

DAVOSA Flatline Phase of Moon

Exploring the poetic beauty of the Moon, this new classic dress watch from Swiss watch brand DAVOSA is an elegant wrist companion with a subtle appearance. With its coloured moon phase display and matching gold-plated or blued hands and indices, however, this flat quartz wristwatch stands in daring contrast to others in its category.

Respecting the aesthetic beauty of timepieces from DAVOSA Flatline series, this new addition boasts a classically round and polished stainless steel case with a diameter of 40 mm and a height of only 7.1 mm, and a Swiss Ronda 708 quality movement.

Under scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lies a symmetrically aligned dial with a fine guilloché minute zone. Above the centre, a moon phase display is positioned on a second dial layer. The starry sky above the centre reflects the colours of the hands and hand applied indices – which are either gold-plated or blued, and accentuated with dots of SuperLumiNova in both versions. Below the centre is the DAVOSA logo and under this a date display – again entirely simple and discreet.

The DAVOSA Flatline Phase of Moon with its 5ATM water resistance is worn on a black, crocodile grain leather band featuring black stitching and a pin buckle. The recommended retail price is 248 Euros.

Davosa Ternos Professional TT

Dedicated to the professional divers, the redesigned Ternos Professional TT easily accompanies the wearer down to depths of up to 500 metres. With ability to survive extreme atmospheric pressures up to 50ATM, this brand new diving instrument from Davosa can  automatically regulate gas pressure via a  helium valve and a bicolour, rotatable bezel that now provides visual support for the 15-minute limit before resurfacing. This last feature is what really gives the Ternos Professional TT its name: Two Tone – in either blue-black or grey-black.

It is quite a challenge to divide a bezel so precisely into two colour scales. However, high-tech ceramics, an elaborate development process and extremely precise tools render it possible –though the unicolour black Ternos Professional model remains part of the range. The helium valve set at 9 o’clock independently recognises when a critical gas pressure is reached inside the watch, and then ensures continuous pressure equalisation so the curved sapphire crystal with its internal, anti-reflective coating is not pushed out of the case. Nothing has changed inside: a high-quality Swiss automatic SW200 movement still powers the Ternos Professional TT.

Once your dive is over, the Ternos Professional TT displays its other side, which is equally stunning. Its dial opening and ceramic bezel have been minimally optimised.  The indices have been given finer contours, while the hands are now larger and their lengths are perfectly in tune with the dial dimensions.  The proportions of the surgical steel case with its 42 mm diameter and height of 15.5 mm are more carefully balanced.

Moreover, the Ternos Professional TT gives you a much greater choice of straps thanks to a broader lug width of 22 mm. A textile NATO strap or a rubber strap can now be combined with the Ternos Professional TT. And if you still prefer a stainless steel strap with a diving extension, you will be happy to hear there is also a polished version. Thanks to a greater use of material and individually screwed links, it is now more robust and hard-wearing, making diving with DAVOSA even safer than before. This 204 gram masterpiece retails from 798 Euros.

DAVOSA Gentlemen Automatic (New Versions)

DAVOSA Watches’ newly reissued Gentleman Automatic series  is subtle, masculine and the ideal wristwatch for business occasions.

With its 9.8 mm height and 40 mm diameter, it disappears easily under any cuff. And when its bearer stretches out an arm and the Gentleman Automatic appears, it complements his overall appearance.

This is certainly helped by its almost entirely understated, tastefully balanced design: three straight hands, four satined statement figures and linear indices for the remaining hours, a classically round case and a simple yet elegant leather strap with a butterfly buckle.

Behind the elegant, understated design of this wristwatch is a masculine muscle pack: a particularly flat, Swiss quality mechanical SW300 movement –  known for being reliable, long-lived and low maintenance.

The Gentleman Automatic also has much to offer in terms of craftsmanship. On one hand there is the dress watch version with a silver or blue dial and steel case or a rosé plated version with a silver dial and rosé plated figures. The case has a satined middle section and a polished bezel; the crocodile grain straps are completely seamless.

On the other hand there are two new, sporty versions with a fully satined case. With a coloured seconds hand in red or blue, and colour coordinated calendar discs, this duo has been given a sporty twist, which is further underscored by the red or blue seams of the smooth leather matching straps.

The dials are decorated with a sunray finish, which lets the light move through a circle depending on the angle of incidence. The impressive water resistance of 5 ATM and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal makes the Gentleman Automatic dress watches eminently suitable for all leisure activities.

Its innovative strap changing system allows the Gentleman Automatic to be adapted to another occasion in a matter of seconds, instead of looking out of place after a change of dress. An additional strap comes with the wristwatch, which retails at 998 Euros.

DAVOSA Speedline TX

DAVOSA extends its Speedline series with the sporty yet elegant TX model.  The new DAVOSA chronograph with a textile strap continues the success story of the Speedline series. It is robust, powerful, high-quality, elegant, precise, water-resistant and now available in an even faster look.

A day only has 24 hours, even for the chronograph. Yet the striped textile strap and matching striped and coloured dial give the new model its own completely new dynamic. And the satined or alternatively black-plated PVD stainless steel case ensures a perfect balance between sportiness and elegance.

The new model is unmistakably part of the Speedline series: The accustomed dial design with its three sub-dials, lightly offset date display, the tachymeter scale on the bezel, two pushers and a protected crown all spring to the eye immediately. But also the accustomed case diameter of 42 millimetres and height of 12 millimetres were used in this latest model.

The textile strap with its belt buckle uses a special nylon mix that combines robustness and comfort. The strap is tear-resistant yet ultralight, waterproof, pleasant on the skin, easy to exchange, but integrated into the design of the watch.

In the interior of the stainless steel case beats a trusted Swiss chronograph Ronda 5030 movement. The analogue calibre guarantees high precision, long run times and can be repaired if necessary. Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on top and a stainless steel back below plus water resistance of 10 ATM ensure that the movement is well-protected on all sides.

The DAVOSA star on the screwed crown is not the only thing that shows the new Speedline model comes from a good family. The chronograph with its hand-applied, Super-LumiNova coated hands is available in three versions: with a grey/black striped strap and satined case, with a red/black strap and satined or black-plated case. The satined models are priced at 348 Euros; the plated model retails at 378 Euros.

DAVOSA Neoteric Pilot Automatic

The DAVOSA Neoteric Pilot Automatic is a reinterpretation of the classic pilot’s watch. The dial of DAVOSA Neoteric Pilot Automatic contained within a 42 mm diameter, stainless steel case has a strictly centred design and dispenses with all totalizers. This gives the wristwatch an attractive generosity. The dial carries easily readable Arabic figures to mark the hours, which are additionally indicated by means of hand-applied, brushed indices – eleven rectangular ones and a single triangle at 12 o’clock. Rounded corners were deliberately avoided to enhance the tool-like character of the watch.

Other features include three hands and an orange, red or yellow minute track on an inner circle. The hour and minute hands are partially skeletonized in opposing ways to differentiate them more fully. The minute hand possesses a colour coordinated frame, so minutes can be read from the inner circle without an additional hand. A narrow, 16.5 mm seconds hand completes the trio of hands.

The space freed up by dispensing with all totalizers is employed for a subtle and unusual dial background design: The midnight blue, black or dark grey dials recall the paint application of an oil painting with a slightly raised structure.

The satined and polished stainless steel case appears tidy and modern. Inside is a tried and tested Swiss DAV2824 automatic calibre, which is rendered visible by a glass back, screwed down at multiple points.

The DAVOSA Neoteric Pilot Automatic is topped by a standard-compliant, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. A fluted crown that is characteristic of DAVOSA is screwed together with the case and remains eminently operable even when wearing pilot’s gloves.

A vintage-look, leather strap harks back to the tradition of pilot’s watches.  The hands, indices and the triangle at the top are all coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova. To increase luminosity, the Arabic figures are printed fivefold and are thus slightly raised.

The DAVOSA Neoteric Pilot Automatic comes in three model versions. The retail price of 748 Euros is identical for all three models.

DAVOSA – Vireo Chronograph and Dual Time

DAVOSA unveils the new Vireo series. The two models, Vireo Chronograph and Vireo Dual Time, are both unassailable business companions and a continual pleasure to the eye.

The most notable feature of the Vireo series is its inner dial ring. In the Vireo Chronograph it carries the chronograph display. In the Dual Time it carries the names of cities in different time zones around the world.

Both versions begin with a polished, round stainless steel case with satined lugs. The case diameter is 41 millimetres; the height is 11.5 millimetres. The hands behind the curved mineral glass are applied by hand and decorated with a satined patterned line surface and luminous applications.

Both watches share a date display that is displaced by 20 ° to the south and a water resistance of 5 ATM. They also share a dial and strap: Both Vireo models are available with a white dial and a hand-stitched, brown calfskin strap with a belt buckle or a black dial and partly satined metal strap with a pressure release butterfly buckle.

Despite so many similarities, the two Vireo models are definitely not identical twins. The Dual Time has an additional hand topped by a red triangle, which can be set to tell you the time in a second time zone, whereas the dial of the Vireo Chronograph houses three sub-dials. And corresponding with their differing functions, the Vireo Dual Time requires two crowns while the Chronograph comes with a single crown and two pushers.

The upper crown of the Dual Time serves to adjust the inner ring with the time zones. The lower crown is used to adjust the time and date, as well as the additional time zone hand.

Under the black or white dial, DAVOSA Watches has integrated a quartz movement with a second time zone from Swiss brand Ronda. The Dual Time with leather strap is priced at 248 Euros; the model with metal band retails at 298 EUROS. The Vireo Chronograph in stainless steel with leather strap is priced at 328 Euros; the model with metal strap retails at 378 Euros.
