CVSTOS SEALINER PS

Swiss luxury watch brand CVSTOS expands its nautical world inspired SEALINER collection by adding a new model, the SEALINER PS.

PS stands for Petite (small) Seconds. This automatic watch boasts a small-seconds indicator inspired by the propeller of a motor yacht. This indicator interplays with the skeletonised calendar disc that displays the date through an aperture at 6 o’clock.

CVSTOS SEALINER PS

Beneath the Super-Luminova coated dauphine hands that match with the beveled hour markers, the sophisticated dial captures a high-tech parade of bridges and plates overlapping the refinement of CNC processed inlaid teak wood.

The open caseback unveils the complex arrangement of the CVSTOS CVS410 caliber. Housing a high-density Tungsten alloy rotor, this self-winding mechanical movement beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour.

CVSTOS SEALINER PS

Crafted in steel, 5N rose gold, or two-tone combination, the case is also available coated in classical Navy Blue or in the new CVSTOS Azure Blue tint with its luminous hues.

Polished and satin-finished, the tonneau-shaped case asserts its strength and identity through the purity of its lines and the geometrical harmony of its curves.

CVSTOS SEALINER PS

The additional engravings recall nautical patterns and four sapphire crystal porthole apertures positioned on the lateral side of the case draw the eye’s attention to the working of the movement from an unexpected angle.

CVSTOS SEALINER PS

Fitted with a screw-down crown designed according to the model of a yacht’s deck filler cap, the case is water-resistant to 100 meters. The Sealiner PS is to be worn with a rubber or alligator leather strap featuring a folding clasp.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S

Swiss luxury watch maker CVSTOS presents a high complication timepiece, the Double Differential Tourbillon-S.

In 2017, Antonio Terranova, co-founder of Cvstos, approached Telos Watch, represented by two talented watchmakers Johnny Girardin & Franck Orny, to find the ideal partners in a perpetual quest for performance and efficiency in terms of chronometry.

In 2019, CVSTOS is presenting its new calibre the CVS8550 conceived in collaboration with Télôs Watch. This new addition to the Concept-S collection is the first movement with 2 Flying Tourbillons each turning at 4 hertz and added two new patents to CVSTOS list of technical advances.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S

The new Concept-S radicalizes the dimension of ultra-traditional chronometry in its execution and its finishing but especially in its totally innovative architecture. In addition, each Double Tourbillon offers individual customization possibilities for the choice of cases, materials, colors and finishes.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S

The single tourbillon or the double tourbillon are generally exercises of style, intended to legitimize or to demonstrate a certain know-how. However, CVSTOS pushes limits by making it a reliable and accurate measuring instrument.

CVSTOS Calibre CVS8550 - Manual-wound Double Flying Tourbillon Movement with a Differential
CVSTOS Calibre CVS8550 – Manual-wound Double Flying Tourbillon Movement with a Differential

This DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S is the assembly of 2 ‘flying tourbillions’ mechanisms synchronized by a differential whose sole task is to distribute the torque and the force in an equal way to the 2 regulators (the tourbillon cages).

With its 2 patents filed, it pays tribute to the perpetual need for innovation of the brand, which refuses to follow certain trends of continuity. A concept Watch of this scale is a definite authority in a world of evermore competitive watchmaking environment.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S diamond set

This is the first movement with 2 Flying Tourbillons rotating at 4 hertz ever made, guaranteeing more precision (more accurate in comparison with the conventional Tourbillons rotating at a frequency of 3 Hz). The tourbillons are placed respectively at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock and are equipped with a Grade 5 titanium cage upper bridge.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S

The tourbillons are synchronized (or equilibrated) by a differential device equipped with ceramic ball bearings, which give this set extreme mechanical rigidity, withstanding the impacts and of course the combined torque and mechanical forces from the 4 barrels.

Once again, innovation is part of this particular architecture, to say, that the plate carries only the gear train for the transmission of force to an entire system of flying components, such as, the Tourbillon cages, the minute time bridge and the differential. This set is mounted on 5 ceramic ball bearings and offers an unparalleled reliability ensured by a power reserve of 72 hours.

CVSTOS DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL TOURBILLON-S

This mechanical set gives a dynamic and three-dimensional impression of suspended elements inside a totally open volume between the different organs. The transparency of the fully perforated dial, as well as the open case back, offer a remarkable visibility on the different elements of this skeleton movement.

Built as a work of art, the upper bridge of the flying differential cage, sports the indicator of the Small Second “Medium” , by a three-point hand, now emblem of the brand.

Movement’s architecture

The CVS8550 movement is constructed by four very specific levels. At its base, the main plate carrying the 4 parallel barrels and the transmission gear; the second, with the differential, the third level, far away from the main plate holding the two flying tourbillions and its specific blocks. The fourth level provides the display of time by means of the hour and minute hands as well as subsidiary seconds, which are calculated from the average timekeeping of both tourbillons.

This mechanical ensemble, of both aesthetical and technical nature, offers a three-dimensional and dynamic impression of suspended elements, via the openwork dial and open back. The massive free volume allows for the inclusion of the curved titanium bridge that carries the sculpted Arabic indexes and technically for both tourbillions to be positioned in line – placed at 9h and 3h – which traditionally is not technically possible due to the crown stem while conserving larger and visually impacting 16.mm diameter tourbillon cages.

Twenty-five bespoke timepieces

The CVS8550 will be made available in a limited quantity of 25 movements and this extremely exclusive movement, fully manufacturer and conceived in Switzerland, will be fitted in bespoke designs only. Either choosing the Sea liner case, with its characteristic four porthole-shaped openings on the sides; or, the Challenge III case, with crown protections which reinforce the robust and sporty yet elegant design of this new case construction, the future bearer of this complex movement will be offered a wide array of possibilities in terms of material choices, ranging from red gold 5N, titanium or steel as well as different coloured PVD treatments, matching with also bespoke straps of astonishing colour and material combinations.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

Refinement, performance, efficiency and elegance: The four fundamentals that distinguish the bold aesthetic footprint of CVSTOS, from the design to the realization of its timepieces. While the aesthetic trend of watches is emerging in the neo-retro movement, CVSTOS is looking ahead and unveils the new version of the now-classic “Chronograph Challenge”.

After unveiling its predecessor in 2013, the time has come to give birth in its third phase of development ‘CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S’.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

Constantly searching for balance and performance, Cvstos opts for a decidedly sporty and contemporary style at the same time offering a new timeless version of this flagship piece of the brand.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

Keeping the same features as its predecessor, the CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S includes a “CVSTOS-577” automatic chronograph movement with high efficiency, characterized by a new bimetallic rotor (Tungsten 88 & Titanium Grade 5) whose inertial characteristics have been optimized ensuring a better acceleration of the oscillating weight.

CVSTOS has chose a return to its roots and updated the famous ‘S’ line (‘Sport’) characterized by a small seconds hand with three branches, by a new power reserve display which is read through a counter and 2 charge indicators.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

This new three-dimensional display with ergonomic reading is enhanced by the famous sword shaped hands of its beginnings, whose specific design gives it readability and visibility day and night.

To enhance the modularity and ergonomics, this chapter III inherits the complex construction of 4 pieces of its predecessor, while optimizing the weight of the case by the use of different avant-garde materials in:-

1. Container in Titanium Grade 5.
2. Case back in Titanium Grade 5.
3. Crown and pushers in Titanium Grade 5
4. Brancards in Grade 5 Titanium; Gold 5N; ITR2 ceramic composite material.
5. Crown and pushers protection in Titanium Grade 5

The timepiece offers optimized readability thanks to the new configuration of the dial, broken down into 2 reading axes:-

• The vertical axis consisting of 2 counters (at 12 o’clock the minute counter & at 6 o’clock the hour counter) enhanced by precious metal discs with an elegant diamond finish.

• The horizontal axis, slightly set back, shows at 9 o’clock the small second with a three branched hand and at 3 o’clock the effective power reserve of minimum of 42 hours, which is read through a window and 2 charge indicators, and finally on the same level the indication of the date. This refined style gives to this three-dimensional structure a perfect visibility on the functional elements of the movement. The sword-shaped hands, the barrel shaped rim including the tachymetric scale, the indexes alternated by applied numerals enhanced by a treated inlay of luminescent material contribute to a great clarity and readability of the entire dial. Therefore, the hour display takes centre stage without confusing the reading of the indication of the chronograph functions magnified by 2, finely diamond finished, oversized counters.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

Comfort and ergonomics are the main points for this marvel of style and technology. The presence of pockets on the case and the rubber strap contribute to enhance the sporty look of the watch while giving it an increased lightness.

Defined by this new barrel-shaped case, the CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S, is defined by clean and racy lines with a multi-component architecture, powerful and generous at the same time. Water resistant to 100 meters, like all CVSTOS timepieces, the collection is available in multi-component metal or composite mounted on a Grade 5 titanium container base offering different color possibilities.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE III CHRONOGRAPH-S

The watch is worn on an NBR® (rubber) strap and the strap closes with a double-pusher folding clasp.

CVSTOS WATCHES

Named after the Latin word for Guardian (or Custodian), CVSTOS was founded in 2005 by CEO Sassoun Sirmakes and Chief Designer Antonio Terranovato represent a new way of preserving time while being always one step ahead of time, focusing on a distinctive cutting edge approach to high-end watchmaking.

Sassoun Sirmakes and Antonio Terranova

Sassoun Sirmakes, of Armenian ascendancy and born in Geneva (1983), has since his childhood been immersed in high watchmaking, as the son of Franck Muller Watchland Groupco owner and chairman Vartan Sirmakes; he dominates every aspect of the watchmaking industry and from early on was set to create his own independent brand – a brand that could exude an avant garde definition of the traditional art of watchmaking through ultra contemporary technique and aesthetics.

Antonio Terranova provided the look that has been defining CVSTOS since the inception of the brand; born in 1967 in the very heart of the Swiss watchmaking industry (La Chaux-de-Fonds), he has embraced watch design and worked for several top-notch brands such as Cartier, Piaget, TAG Heuer, Breitling, Ebel and Zenith – until moving on to fulfil the dream of launching his own company with Sassoun Sirmakes, inspired by the innovative aerospace and automotive industries.

The CVSTOS headquarters are based in the historical Saint Gervais quarter in Geneva, complemented by a production site close to Ferney-Voltaire and the Swiss border. Average price of CVSTOS timepieces range between 8,000 and 30,000 CHF.

CVSTOS HQs Geneva

Sassoun Sirmakes, Co-Founder and CEO
Step by step, from his earliest years, this dynamic Swiss-Armenian young man was drawn into the world of sophisticated watchmaking by working eagerly, during weekends and summer holidays, beside his father Vartan Sirmakes, co-owner and chairman of the Franck Muller Watchland Group.

After finishing high-school at the age of 17, Sassoun Sirmakes faced a crucial dilemma: should he continue with his studies or join the company straightaway and benefit directly from his father’s years of unequalled experience and his peerless sense of perfection to acquire the same habits of meticulousness and gain an intimate knowledge of this intricate craft. For him, the choice that had to be made was more than obvious. He rightfully decided not to forgo this unique opportunity and began at once to embark on a work for which he had an enduring passion as well as an already proven talent.

His first major challenge was to restructure the small gemsetting department to optimize its production capacities. Within the space of only two years, and with his characteristic decisiveness, he successfully achieved his initial goal by implementing managerial policies and strategies that transformed the in-house workshop into a large-scale gemsetting company, most probably one of the biggest in Switzerland, located at two different sites in the Geneva area. With over 50 full-time qualified employees working under his direct leadership, Sassoun Sirmakes was also in charge of purchasing and managing substantial quantities of precious stones. Additionally, his strong analytical vision and organizational skills led him to learn some of the essential aspects of the accounting procedures of the Franck Muller Watchland Group.

Through his boundless curiosity and active participation in all the facets of production, he gradually developed a keen and unfailing eye for the imperatives that underpin the realm of luxury and achieved mastery of the entire watchmaking process from the design board to the finished product.

In 2003, when he was only 19 years old, Sassoun Sirmakes’ well-known determination coupled with a sharp business-minded vision, succeeded in a new significant professional challenge. Having prepared a carefully thought out and convincing business plan designed to respond to the changing expectations and the fresh demands emerging  from the world of luxury goods, he attracted the interest of first-class investors to join him in the start of this exciting new venture. To house this immense project, his excellent negotiating skills and ability to act quickly and decisively enabled him to lease a magnificent castle nestling in a beautiful estate of 80,000 m2, in France at very close proximity to the Swiss border near Geneva.

During spring 2004, Sassoun Sirmakes decided to branch out and create Cvstos, an independent brand, by teaming up with one highly talented partner: Antonio Terranova. Revealing Sassoun Sirmakes’ acknowledged flair for innovation and creative designs, these timepieces are totally dedicated to trendsetters across the world. This innovative watchmaking brand is the outcome of an original concept that defines and illustrates beautifully Sassoun Sirmakes’ very own philosophy of life: being always a step ahead of time.

Antonio Terranova, Co-Founder and Chief Designer
Born in 1967 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Antonio Terranova has been fascinated by beauty and design ever since childhood, perhaps a heritage from his Italian ancestry. At the age of 16, despite his fervent passion for designing timepieces, Antonio Terranova followed his parents’ advice and spent six years in intensive study to become a micro-technical specialist. After graduation, he undertook professional training in order to finally follow his love of design and enter the enchanting world of horology. He started his career in the research department of a well-known company specializing in the machinery of watchmaking components. However, his creative instincts were so intense and overriding that he made a career move towards watchmaking design. His innate creativity encouraged him to design his own watch that he baptized naturally as Terranova No1. Wearing it on his wrist, this timepiece became his business card as he started to search for a career in the field of horological design.

In 1993 his exceptional talents were spotted by the technical director of Prodor SA and he was asked to join the company and take charge of technical developments regarding some product lines of the Cartier and the Piaget collections. His perfectionism and habitual sense of precision inspired and motivated him to explore new technical ideas and innovative solutions that have since been patented.

In 1997, willing as always to take up a new challenge and put his immense reservoirs of creativity to test, Antonio Terranova joined the TAG-Heuer company in Marin and started working as a research and development technician for new products. During this professional experience he became better acquainted with the philosophy of teamwork management, which aims to unite a pool of various expertise and diverse talents during the creation of a new product line.

Few years later, while working as a freelance designer for various major Swiss watchmaking brands such as Breitling, Ebel and Zenith, Antonio Terranova’s passion for creating imaginative innovations in the world of timekeeping instruments increased in intensity and sophistication. He was resolved to turn his dreams into reality and create watches that would be a synthesis of his skills and unmatched experience.

Finally, during spring 2004, Antonio Terranova’s challenging concepts, boldly directed towards the future, became a reality. He could now create a new brand that would combine his designer skills with his sound technical knowledge. He realized this venture and created this opportunity with Sassoun Sirmakes, a dynamic entrepreneur with an incomparable flair for marketing.

Cvstos Sealiner QP Marea – Automatic Perpetual Calendar Watch with Moonphase and Atlantic Ocean Tidal Cycle Indicator

The Sealiner watch series from Cvstos takes inspiration from world of navigation of the Atlantic Ocean routes and spurred by this adventurous spirit of mastering the oceans and the tidal flows. Now, after the famous ‘Sealiner Automatic’ model, Cvstos enriches this watch line with a new perpetual calendar model.

Cvstos Sealiner QP Marea

Over the centuries, sailors or navigators have always faced the ebb and flow of the tides. In the major parts of the globe, they occur according to a semi-diurnal lunar cycle. The water rises on average every 12 hours and 25 minutes, before receding again. This timepiece was designed with the specific aim of controlling and mastering each entrance or exit of port, in anticipation of storms and tides.

Cvstos Sealiner QP Marea – Automatic Perpetual Calendar Watch with Moonphase and Atlantic Ocean Tidal Cycle Indicator

Cvstos has developed the functions of the basic CVS-6510-YC calibre based on the reports and tables published by the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the French Navy of Brest (SHOM).

Since 2014, the Cvstos engineers have worked hard on this project to finally release this exclusive wristwatch featuring complex horology mechanisms. This new watch shows the perpetual calendar based on the Gregorian calendar and incidentally, the display of the ebb and flow of the tides.

On a skeletonised dial with 4 counters, this calibre displays the necessary data for navigation, indicating the following functions:-

  • The moon phases are displayed on the counter at 12 o’clock, in both hemispheres and in superposition, synchronised by a two-pointed hand, the tidal force factor. The tides are based on the lunar force of attraction. When it is full or black (new moon), or, when aligned with the Earth and the Sun, the amplitude is at its peak, with a coefficient of 95 to 120, which descends to 20-45 during the first and last quarters of the moon. This reading, of course, is synchronised with the boat´s azimuth, to establish whether it is located in the northern or southern hemisphere.
  • A hand displays the months on the counter at 6 o’clock. A red tip indicates the leap year.
  • On the counter at 9 o’clock, the calendar is displayed super-imposed over the calibre driven by a transparent disk and covered by a bridge equipped with a centre-disc system and shifts with the aid of a ruby on an adjustable bezel. For improved transparency, the date is displayed by way of a metal sector directly screwed and positioned by a pin via the CVS-6510-YC calibre.
  • On the counter at 3 o’clock, the day is displayed in the same way as at 9 o’clock.
  • The hour, minute and second hand are in the centre, with a stylish ellipse design, specific to the Sealiner series.
  • The Atlantic Ocean Tidal Cycle Indicator is displayed on the flange, following the hour hand course, with 2 cycles every 24 hours.

All functions can be adjusted at any time via their corrector markers indicating the availability of berths.

Cvstos Sealiner QP Marea – Automatic Perpetual Calendar Watch with Moonphase and Atlantic Ocean Tidal Cycle Indicator

Designed in a style which is directly inspired by nautical codes, the open dial as well as the open bottom, offer a remarkable insight into the spectacular mechanism of this calibre. An opening positioned on the edge of the case at 8 o’clock in the shape of a porthole invites the eye to delve into the heart of this mechanism and to discover the architecture of the suspended movement, which appears to levitate within its case.

The back of the watch also features visual elegance with the oscillating weight of the CVS-6510-YC movement, which resembles the shape of a racing sail-boat rudder. Its custom design also optimises winding movement and offers an incomparable view of the mechanism. This brand-specific architecture, consisting of 2 elements (tungsten mass segment + Titanium mass arm), eliminates any vibration, based on the undivided masses. Thus, this configuration guarantees a better rotational acceleration and therefore, optimised winding.

Cvstos Sealiner Regata Automatic

Match racing is a particular form of regatta. It is about a confrontation of equals on water of boat against boat. A regatta takes place in a closed circuit delimited by buoys: the competitors must get around them and in the direction defined by the committee of the course.

Effective since 1930s, in modern match racing, the circuit is raced with identical “classes” boats (identical shapes). One major element in the modern racing is the pre-departure. These pre-departures are determined by countdowns either of 5’or 10’or even of 15’ before the beginning of the race with the objective which of being better positioned over the competitor at the sound of the canon.

Thanks to America’s Cup, the match racing became popular. The match held over two laps over a circuit called wet “banana” orientated at the axis of the wind: a pre departure phase before the starting signal; after an stretch upwind, followed by a descent downwind during which a flag is hoisted, a second ascent and descent after which a second flag is held to finally cross the finish line. One match usually lasts between fifteen to thirty minutes.

Progress of the pre-departure phase
– Normally in a regatta a 5’ (five minutes) before the departure an initial audio signal is heard and the first (coloured) flag is hoisted.
– Then, four minutes before the beginning a second audio sign is heard, indicating the remaining time before the departure and a second flag is hoisted.
– After hoisting the two flags and finally sounding the canon for departure the race begins.

Cvstos Sealiner Regata Automatic watch

Swiss luxury watch brand CVSTOS has developed a chronograph specifically for this sport, endowed with at 12 o’clock:

  • Intuitive countdown indicator (pre-departures) overlaid on the minute counter.
  • 5 openings in shaped in sectors, showing the different countdown phases
  • After triggering the chronograph function, the first sector will indicate the passing of the first minute.
  • Animated by a 3 coloured disc, which define the different pre-departure cycles (five minutes per zone) preceding the definitive departure of the regatta.
  • Chronograph hand of linear seconds, painted in red, at the centre indicates, in an imposing way, the last 5 seconds before hauling down the spinnaker before the cannon is shot signaling the beginning of the “Match Race”.

CVSTOS Jetliner II P-S Automatic

The Jetliner series from CVSTOS welcomes the new JETLINER II P-S AUTOMATIC watch equipped with the CVS- 410 calibre featuring small seconds at 6 o’clock.

This specially developed movement includes some improvements to boost the efficiency and performance of the watch.

CVSTOS Jetliner II P-S Automatic watch

The watch movement features a totally innovative magnetic system, designated as “anti-rattling”. The latter is composed of 2 small cylindrical permanent magnets, perfectly positioned between 2 teeth for each jump which is induced by the escape wheel. Thereby, this system thus guarantees the operational fluidity and ultimately the correct positioning of the small seconds wheel elaborated of polarised steel. This makes the system void of abrasive foils and ultimately, provides it with a better performance.

CVSTOS Jetliner II P-S Automatic

Performance is guaranteed based on a longer and stronger mainspring, which improves the distribution of the torque on the power reserve curve. The increase in the force and the length of the spring must necessarily go hand in hand with the winding device, i.e., the oscillating weight which ensures the complete winding of the mainspring. The gross energy reserve is approximately 48 hours; however, its efficiency is stored for 32 hours of the total energy reserve.

The oscillating weight is composed of two highly technical materials, titanium grade 5 & THUNGSTEN88®. This combination of materials eliminates all vibrations due to uneven weight on the ball-bearing and provides better rotational acceleration, thus optimising the winding.

CVSTOS Jetliner II P-S Automatic

The fusion of different shades of titanium, ceramic composite material and gold provides these watches with added value with the case laterals made of 5N pink gold, while reducing the weight with the use of titanium for the remaining components.

This timepiece is worn on a NITRIL® bracelet in black, blue, white or red and which is fastened by means of a folding clasp with double pusher. Sophisticated versions of alligator leather are also available and provide the watch with a more classic touch.

CVSTOS Chrono II LB 76 Limited Edition – Dedicated to the French MotoGP Pilot Loris Baz

Swiss luxury watch brand CVSTOS announces a limited edition timepiece dedicated to MotoGP pilot Loris Baz.

Back in force on the French market following the opening of several new outlets, CVSTOS chose to partner with GP motorcycle rider Loris Baz, born in 1993 in Sallanches near Geneva, to represent CVSTOS’ collection.

Taking advantage of the geographical proximity between the pilot and the Geneva-based brand, many synergies are being further developed to promote the sportive and trendsetting identity of the brand while maintaining the traditional values of Swiss watchmaking and its region.

CVSTOS Chrono II LB 76 Limited Edition - Dedicated to the French MotoGP Pilot Loris Baz

Admirer of the famous pilot Loris Capirossi and bearing the same name, it took for himself and like him the number 65 until 2012 when entering Superbike. With this number being taken by another driver at the time, he decided to keep the number 6 and now sports the number 76.

CVSTOS dedicates an exclusive timepiece limited to 76 pieces worldwide to the Number 1 French MotoGP Pilot. The Chrono II draws inspiration from the competitive world of motorcycling by using Blue Carbon fiber inlay for increased lightness and aesthetically from the pilot’s official colours – blue, white and red.

CVSTOS CHRONO II BRAZIL LIMITED EDITION

Swiss luxury watch brand CVSTOS pays tribute to the Brazilian nation by introducing the CHRONO II Brazil directly inspired by the Brazilian national symbols an colors: yellow representing gold and the wealth of Brazil, green its natural beauty and hope, dark blue symbolising the night sky and rivers of the country, and finally, white standing for peace.

The layered open dial, which allows the elegant movement to be seen while still offering optimal readability, is surrounded by a yellow flange featuring a tachymeter scale. The chronograph counters have applied green rims and are accentuated by yellow markers.

CVSTOS CHRONO II BRAZIL LIMITED EDITION

However, the maximum expression of the dedication of this model to Brazil is shown at 9 o’clock where the national Brazilian crest is incorporated into the dial. The sky Orb, also present in the Brazilian Flag, contains the motto “Ordem & Progresso” which, when translated, reads “Order and Progress” and 27 stars, each representing a Brazilian Federal State.

The blackened baton indexes are punctuated with green dots and filled with yellow Super Luminova, bringing extra clarity to the dial. The blackened hands, also with yellow Super Luminova, are punctuated with vivid green endings on the counter hands and the chronograph central hand with dark blue.

CVSTOS CHRONO II BRAZIL LIMITED EDITION

The Power Reserve Indicator is accented with the Brazilian national colors in the shape of a gauge.

The CHRONO II movement is a construction of a robust and high performance base to which it is added an additional module offering the functions of Hour and Minute, Chronograph, Power Reserve Indicator and Date.

The entire movement is sculpted according to CVSTOS technical demands: bridges, components and date disc are laser cut removing weight from the movement and added a decorative black PVD coating. The movement is placed inside a titanium circle, which acts as a protective cage, turning the ensemble of the more than 150 parts that compose the mechanism into a single robust block.

The movement is powered by an oscillating mass, seen through the open case back, protected by a sapphire glass, encompassing a duo-metal construction of Tungsten 88 & Titanium.

Following the principle of a pendulum, a heavier external weight concentrated in the blade and a much lighter set of spokes made of titanium provide, with a small twitch of the wrist,  an energy supply to the movement with greater ease. This structure allows not only for the mass to be thinner and lighter but considerably smaller offering a clearer view of the decorated chronograph movement’s back.

The 53.7mm x 41mm barrel shaped case, chosen for its comfort and practicality, has its weight lifted by shearing essential milligrams from the bezel resulting in a dynamic shape with structured inserts. The rugged design of the case is complemented with the titanium serrated pushers which offer a better grip and handling of the Start/Stop and Reset functions of the chronograph.

Not unlike your choice of cufflinks that stamp your individuality, CVSTOS has also incorporated black Titanium Grade 5 crowns and screws engraved with its hallmark pattern. Water resistance to 100m is achieved by means of a screw down crown with a yellow Nitril (NBR©) insert.

The case architecture and details are then highlighted by the polished and satin finishing and fitted with a black nylon strap, enhancing the timepiece’s sportive allure.

Maintaining its exclusivity the CVSTOS CHRONO II Brazil is available in a limited edition of 50 pieces.

CVSTOS SEALINER REGATA Automatic Chronograph

Continuing their incessant quest for performance, in the world of yacht racing, CVSTOS is launching a new challenge with the SEALINER REGATA, expressed by a Chronograph version of their eponymous line, accompanying thus navigators and skippers in their various “Match Racing” challenges.

CVSTOS has developed a Chronograph designed specifically for this sport by providing it with a safety crown screwed to the case in the shape of a winch of tension for the sails and push buttons in grade 5 titanium recalling the mooring cleats. The countdown can begin and the chronograph is started. The elapsing time is read on a three dimensional skeleton dial.

At 12 o’clock, superimposing the minutes counter, is the intuitive countdown indicator shaped as sail’s pulleys, in 3 colours, defining a cycle of five minutes per area, preceding the start of the Regatta. At 3 o’clock are placed, in addition to the usual counters, the power reserve indicator and the date window whose disk is finely carved (by laser cutting method).

At 9 o’clock the second hand is placed. At 6 o’clock is an imposing hour counter, the counting of time is achieved through a stylised needle in the shape of a rudder. The second chronograph linear hand at the centre, tinged with red, indicates, in an impressive manner, the last 5 seconds remaining until the “spi” (mainsail) is lowered before the gun fire is starting the “MATCH RACING”.

CVSTOS SEALINER REGATA Automatic Chronograph

An aesthetical design inspired directly by nautical codes, showing new unexpected and spectacular possibilities, the transparency of the dial, as well as the open bottom, offer a remarkable visibility on the spectacular mechanism of this movement. On the edges of the case, at 9 o’clock, 2 porthole-shaped openings invite the eye to dive into the heart of this mechanism to discover the beautiful architecture of the suspended movement which seems to levitate in its setting.

This elegance is the result of solutions that meet technologies brought in by the” SEALINER” precursory project. This is how the oscillating movement of the CVSTOS CVS 577 reminds of the form of a racing sailboat rudder, completely redesigned and customised to optimise the winding of the movement, offering incomparable views of the chronograph mechanism, which is enhanced by a titanium rigid bridge, essential to the SEALINER line, a marquetry in teak wood, inspired by the most beautiful boat decks.

This, specific to the brand, architecture is made of 2 elements (segment of mass in tungsten + a mass arm in titanium) that eliminate thus any vibration due to non-distributed masses. This is the reason why this configuration ensures a better acceleration of rotation, and therefore of an optimum rewinding.

High-performer, the exclusive “SEALINER REGATA AUTOMATIC” calibre expresses the spirit of consistency that has governed the Brand since its founding in 2005. Featuring an unparalleled level of technicality, the automatic movement offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The efficient winding is ensured by an oscillating mass composed of 2 technical materials such as titanium grade 5 & THUNGSTEN88®.

Water-resistant to 100 meters, the 5N Gold, steel or PVD Blue treated steel, or even set steel, the tonneau-shaped case is admirably emphasised by the purity of its lines and volumes. This polished architectural work, easily identifiable amidst all, contributes to CVSTOS’ aesthetic distinction in the closed world of luxury watchmaking.

The “SEALINER REGATA AUTOMATIC” is worn with a blue, white or “St. Tropez” red rubber band and locks with a folding clasp with a double-push piece. Other combinations are also available in ALCANTARA ® lined alligator leather in various colours with the same specific aesthetic of this model or, for the purists, the classical configuration remains available.

CVSTOS Challenge Koi Tourbillon

In incessant quest for progress and in the highest respect for the Swiss watchmaking tradition, allied with state of-the-art technologies, combining refinement and elegance, CVSTOS unveils its new vision of high-end watchmaking.

The historical success of the brand features some chance or direct collaborations with people of various talents, which enabled CVSTOS to create unique products, carriers of various images, in perfect osmosis with the messages conveyed by the brand.

Returning from this initiatory voyage to Kyoto, Antonio Terranova (maker & designer of CVSTOS brand) undertakes a personal approach, under the form of a dedication, materialised in a watch that pays homage to the country of the rising sun (Japan).

CVSTOS Challenge Koi Tourbillon

The Koi is not only a symbol of life and fertility but also of wealth and gold; its name in Chinese is a synonym of abundance and its image is often used associated with the wishing of wealth and prosperity. Been known for swimming against the tide in Asian rivers and waterfalls they have become strong symbols of strength and perseverance.

The Koi’s place in Japanese culture is one of importance, being incarnations of love and fertility, wherever they were placed they were successful as they are calm and embody serenity and beauty.

CVSTOS Challenge Koi Tourbillon
The Challenge Koi Tourbillon comes to life through the personal work carried out by each craftsman contributing to the process of creation. It exists through the choice of different types of Koi carps. They will form this painting, with personalised staging, according to the desires of the future owner of the watch.

Elegantly carved, they will be micro painted with special lacquer following the craftsman inspiration, with paintbrush fitted sometimes with only one bristle. The surface, as well as its structure is thus enhanced by textures, in characteristic colours, made of shades, of arrangement, with or without metal impressions, going from orange to deep red, from pure white or still bright yellow, from copper to velvet or metallic patina.

CVSTOS Challenge Koi Tourbillon

Satisfying the most various customisation wishes as regards the choice of colour materials for the background, like the cover of open design barrel recalling the “lotus” flower, another symbol pertaining to Zen philosophy, or the choice of integrating to the latter another subject that is equally suggestive for the pond – “the dragonfly”, or even more the splashes formed by the carp in heading to the surface while crossing the Yellow River, implying perseverance.

Its calibre was imagined like a canvas on which the subjects are allowed to harmoniously mingle with the rigid elements of this high performance Tourbillon mechanism.

The fully open design of the calibre enables a currently unique three-dimensionality, adjusting the architecture and the arrangement of the transmission system of the vertical-line wheels, freeing thus 2 voluminous side spaces.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL CHRONOGRAPHE GMT

With this new creation, CVSTOS pays tribute to Gustave Eiffel, the French visionary engineer who has created more than 300 structures all over the world including the iconic Eiffel Tower of Paris.

This is the third creation from the watchmaking house to honour Gustave Eiffel. In 2014, the Swiss watch brand created GUSTAVE EIFFEL timepiece and in the following year the GUSTAVE EIFFEL TOURBILLON, both taking their design inspiration from the legendary Eiffel tower.

Following the lines of the famous Tower Eiffel, with the tonneau-shaped middle (very finely carved, requiring 45 minutes to process only the motives), the “CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL” has a structure akin to the Parisian elegance, inspired by the famous Cross of Saint Andrew, a symbol of rigidity, transparency, and lightness alike.

The “Gustave Eiffel CHRONOGRAPHE GMT” is equipped with a new automatic high efficiency chronograph mechanism (CVS-3081/GMT-24H), characterised by its bimetallic rotor of Tungsten 88 & Titanium Grade 5.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL CHRONOGRAPHE GMT

From the same spectacular and unexpected perspectives, this new CVSTOS calibre is created under the name “CVS-3081/GMT-24H” with a power reserve of 48 hours, automatic movement designed in the same aesthetic vein and motives inspired from Gustave Eiffel’s principles.

Three-dimensional display of the instant reading of time is made by hour/minute, sword-shaped hands, while the display of the second GMT time zone uses an arrow-shaped hand (Orange de Paris). Daytime and nighttime visibility of each hand is optimised by a generous surface coated with luminescent material.

The counter discs remind of the drive wheels of the Tower lifts’ cables. The minute-counter hand at 12 o’clock, as well as the hour-counter hand at 6 o’clock, are finely carved and perforated to reveal the mechanisms, the various functions of the movement, such as the cog of the date disc toothing and their respective bouncers.

The transparency magnifies by a bimetallic skeleton dial; at 3 o’clock we can also admire the reading quality of numerals indicating the date, through a finely laser-cut aperture offering reading by interplay of transparency.

Daytime and night time reading comfort is facilitated by large embossed metallic indexes, coated in their centre, by luminescent material indicating the hourchapter surrounded by a tonneau-shaped flange divided in 24 indexes colour “Orange de Paris”, for the display of the GMT function.

Carved out of 316-L steel, PVD bronze or 5N pink gold treated steel, the tonneau shaped case is admirably emphasised by the purity of its lines and volume. This polished architectural work, easily identifiable amidst all, contributes to CVSTOS’ aesthetic distinction in the closed world of luxury watchmaking.

With up to 100 meters water resistance, the “CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL CHRONOGRAPHE GMT” is available in fine alligator leather in various colours, which is lined with ALCANTARA® leather, with a specific look dedicated specifically to this model. This classical bracelet is also available with an elegant buckle.

CVSTOS DANI PEDROSA CARBON

Inspired and captivated by the philosophy of the Samurai warrior, Dani Pedrosa has chosen to make it his logo at the age of 13, early in his career. He was the youngest driver in the circuit, and it was then that he decided to add a pacifier to the paraphernalia of his Samurai warrior.

At 12 o’clock, the minute counter and the hour counter at 6 o’clock, shaped brake discs are fitted with a strap with orange colors of the new RC213V REPSOL HONDA; Power reserve can be found at 3 o’clock in the manner of a digital tachometer displaying in red the danger area. At 9o’clock the logo of the little Samurai is hand painted and inlaid on the dial plate.

This automatic chronograph movement is assembled and decorated in the workshops of the manufacture CVSTOS in Geneva, with an oscillating weight, similar to the spoked rim REPSOL HONDA RC213V. This rotor uses the already developed and approved by CVSTOS technology of tungstène88 / Titanium Grade5.

CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner ‘Proud To Be Russian’ Collection – Limited Edition Gerard Depardieu

‘Proud to be Russian’ is a new collection conceived by independent luxury Swiss watch manufacturer CVSTOS GENÈVE and endorsed by Gérard Depardieu– the French-born superstar actor who carries Russian citizenship since 2013 and who, as an ambassador, embodies that pride.

Every timepiece in the ‘Proud to be Russian’ collection is highlighted by an open-worked dial featuring a finely cut 3-dimensional double-headed eagle representing the Russian coat of arms.

Gérard Depardieu has been wearing the ‘Proud to be Russian’ timepiece and that inaugural ‘Proud to be Russian’ watch has evolved into a range that now includes four automatic timepieces, a tourbillon watch, a minute repeater tourbillon watch and jewellery versions.

CVSTOS Proud to Be Russian Gérard Depardieu Edition Chrono II Black Titanium with Red Gold 5N Laterals

CVSTOS has developed an exclusive open-worked dial concept based on various coats of arms representing several countries. When Sassoun Sirmakes met Gérard Depardieu in Paris last March through mutual friend Frederik Mahler and showed him a timepiece with the Russian imperial eagle, the renowned actor was immediately seduced by the concept and the idea of expressing the Russian pride through a highly symbolic timepiece.

A friendship between the two flourished and with it the ‘Proud to be Russian’ collection that also carries a collateral project: to rediscover and revive the glorious Russian watchmaking heritage through limited editions featuring historic calibres, set up a movement decoration studio (first in Geneva, then in Russia) and eventually ignite a Russian watch manufacture.

CVSTOS Proud to Be Russian Limited Edition Titanium with Red Gold 5N components and Grey Nitril® strap

Probably the best-known French male actor around the world, Gérard Depardieu has participated in almost 200 movies throughout a career spanning five decades and crowned with multiple awards. He has also been a director, a producer and an entrepreneur developing various businesses. His larger than life personality granted him a massive aura; as CVSTOS ambassador, he has been totally invested in the ‘Proud to be Russian’ project.

Born in Châteauroux on the 27th of December, 1948, Gérard Depardieu built an eclectic résumé based on strong characters that fit his charismatic figure and passionate acting.

Some of his most notable movies are ‘Going Places’/’Les Valseuses’ (Bertrand Blier, 1974), ‘1900’ (Bernardo Bertolucci, 1976), ‘The Last Metro’ (François Truffaut, 1980), ‘The Return of Martin Guerre’ (Daniel Vigne, 1982), ‘Danton’ (Andrzej Wajda, 1983), ‘Under the Sun of Satan’ (1987), ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ (Jean-Paul Rappeneau, 1990), ‘Green Card’ (Peter Weir, 1990), ‘1492: Conquest of Paradise’ (Riddley Scott, 1992), ‘Asterix & Obelix’ (various, 1999-2012).

Having received Knight Honours in France (National Order of Merit; Legion of Honour) and collected Cesar, Golden Globe and Oscar nominations, Gérard Depardieu also received the Stanislavsky Award at the 2006 Moscow film Festival for “outstanding achievements in the acting career”.

After his role as Rasputin in a 2011 TV movie, he proclaimed: “I love Russia, its people, its history, its writers, its art”; in January 2013, Russian president Vladimir Putin signed an executive order granting Russian citizenship to the French-born actor and delivered the passport himself. Gérard Depardieu is nowadays viewed as a hero in Russia and surrounding Republics such as Chechnya, Uzbekistan or Mordovia.

An art connoisseur and watch collector, Gérard Depardieu has recently opened a restaurant in Moscow; as a reputed vineyard owner he also has an interest in developing Russian wine. He embodies the CVSTOS spirit; furthermore, if CVSTOS motto is ‘The Time Keeper’, Gérard Depardieu also played a role on a 1992 movie by Jeff Blyth called… Timekeeper.

Antonio Terranova, co-founder and chief designer at CVSTOS GENÈVE, is the author of the design that defines the ‘Proud to be Russian’ collection – and underlines the manufacturing complexity of both the coat of arms dial and the open-work mechanical movement.

CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner ‘Proud To Be Russian’ Collection - Limited Edition Gerard Depardieu

The creation of the coat of arms dial also represents a thorough and complex process. A plate of 2mm in height is cut by a 5-axis, multi-level machine; then the eagle is sculpted through an electro-erosion procedure by an extremely thin laser beam; finally, the surface is sandblasted.

CVSTOS Challenge Jet-Liner ‘Proud To Be Russian’ Collection - Limited Edition Gerard Depardieu

The CVS 350 automatic calibre and the CVS 2600 hand wound tourbillon also require a lot of skeletonizing and galvanic sandblasting to protect the micro-mechanical parts. The finalized crest is stunning, with the Russian imperial eagle shining in its entire splendor.

The see-through sapphire crystal on the case-back bears Gérard Depardieu’s signature and CVSTOS plans on further expanding the collection with chronographs, complicated masterpieces and special series.

CVSTOS Gustave Eiffel Tourbillon Limited Edition

Gustave Eiffel has marked an entire era thanks to his great architectural achievements, has created more than 300 structures all over the world, among which the Eiffel Tower of course, the metallic frame of the New York Statue of Liberty, as well as various bridges, including the Maria Pia of Porto bridge, and has also actively participated to the completion of the Panama canal project.

So many important living works, scattered on all continents still stand proof today of the vision and exceptional know-how of the one we call the «Iron Magician» or the «Engineer of the Universe».

All these works are marked by his quest for the purity of the lines, for the combination of iron with glass, and for the strength and lightness of shapes. An everyday elegance that remains contemporary even today and that will be inspiring designers and creators for centuries to come.

Exalting the vision of his ancestor, namely to «Combine Beauty with Practicality», Philippe Couperie Eiffel is refining high-end watchmaking with his collaboration with the Swiss manufacturer CVSTOS to give rise to an exceptional timepiece called «Gustave Eiffel TOURBILLON» by CVSTOS.

CVSTOS Gustave Eiffel Tourbillon Limited Edition
The «CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL TOURBILLON» distinguishes itself by inheriting the aesthetic and technical codes of the now famous «CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL» model, being characterised by this touch of creativity and fundamental novelty for which CVSTOS is famous.

Therefore CVSTOS sets the same goals by providing this new model with their famous mix of performance, avant gardism, and aesthetics, the four pillars of the brand. The look of this new timepiece symbolises the technical and aesthetic memory of this great man.

The main theme of the look of this timepiece is inspired from and founded on the metallic structure of the famous Cross of Saint Andrew, a technical heritage, which, according to Gustave Eiffel, easily represents mathematical beauty.

Following the lines of the famous Tower Eiffel, with the tonneau-shaped middle (very finely carved, requiring 45 minutes to process only the motives), the «CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL»has a structure akin to the Parisian elegance, inspired by the famous Cross of Saint Andrew, a symbol of rigidity, transparency, and lightness alike.

The elevators running on the Eiffel Tower since the opening of the Universal Exhibition of 1889 are a technical feat for its time, never had an elevation system reached such a height let alone with such load. Of these historic elevators two are still in function today and are testimonies to the visionary genius of Gustave Eiffel.

The passenger cabin is carried by a cab attached to cables, and is maintained in a horizontal position by a recovery system. Underground, a hydraulic system sets two pistons in motion, which generate horizontal movements for a cab. The cab drivers the cables that pull smoothly by means of a system of pulleys the cabin upwards, towards the 128th metre of this course, between the ground and the 2nd floor.

CVSTOS Gustave Eiffel Tourbillon Limited Edition

From the same spectacular and unexpected perspectives, the mechanism, which comes straight from the CVSTOS factory, and which is called «CVS2600 TOURBILLON-S», with a power reserve of 60 hours, is a hand-winding movement designed in the same vein of motives inspired from Gustave Eiffel’s principles.

The perforated barrel drum which allows to take a peek at the charging status of the movement reminds of the drive wheels of the Tower’s lifts. At 6 o’clock we can admire through a large sapphire crystal the flying tourbillon cage making 1 round per minute to indicate the small second, and all is magnified by the transparency of the bimetallic skeleton dial.

The indicator is carved from the block through various state-of-the-art technological processes. The dial’s high readability is facilitated by the metallic indexes whose centre is covered in a luminescent material.

The transparent case-back immerses us into the heart of the mechanism to discover a structure divided by 3 bridges, each with a specific function, which isolate it from the mechanical stresses of the gear-train from the barrel (energy provider) and the tourbillon cage (regulator).

The cage of the flying TOURBILLON mounted on a high-precision bearing (clearing away any sort of shock) is structurally and completely isolated from the rest of the mechanism, with only one connection, namely one single wheel to the wheel train, independently attached to the super rigid platinum whose barrel bridge is once again attached to the latter in an autonomous way.

Such archetype was designed and created to increase the performance and thus the efficiency of the chronometric performance. An excellent visibility is therefore provided on the mechanism and the work of the master watchmakers, which is then highlighted by the three-dimensional aspect of this movement.

Carved out of 316-L steel, PVD bronze or 5N pink gold treated steel, the tonneau-shaped case is admirably emphasised by the purity of its lines and volume. This polished architectural work, easily identifiable amidst all, contributes to CVSTOS’ aesthetic distinction in the closed world of luxury watchmaking.

With up to 100 meters water resistance, the «CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL TOURBILLON» is available in fine alligator leather in various colours, which is lined with ALCANTARA® leather, with a specific look dedicated specifically to this model. This classical bracelet is also available with an elegant buckle.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II Black Forged Carbon Honolulu

Ever since 2013, Swiss luxury watch brand CVSTOS is “one of the main official sponsors” of the Hawaiian THRIATHLON in Honolulu.

The brand thus celebrates the new TRAITHLON with a new model in order to honour all the men and women who make up this universe of high physical and mental impact. This timepiece is dedicated to the competitor, to his better management of efforts and performance during any such race (swimming, running, and cycling).

CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II Black Forged Carbon Honolulu

This tireless search for state-of-the-art technologies has guided CVSTOS towards the implementation of this new material now used in various fields of application such as aerospace, or in the car racing racing, or even in the very closed circle of hyper-cars used to create the chassis which has to meet all kinds of demands.

Based on this new concept, the CARBON HONOLULU is either carved by the latest technologies or created from moulds or materials arranged in random form. It case is made from a specific mixture of carbon fibres (black) and coloured nano-fibre glass (red, blue, orange, etc.) and Epoxy resins.

From this compound, any forms of air bubbles are eliminated either from the resin mixture, or the fibres’ overlays to finally obtain a homogeneous and compact mass. It is then treated through the last cooking process in the autoclave oven at a controlled atmosphere and temperature. When exiting the oven, each timepiece has its own aesthetic.

CVSTOS Challenge Chrono II

Cvstos presents a new, more streamlined addition to its flagship Chronograph Challenge range: the Challenge Chrono II.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II BLACK STEEL
CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II BLACK STEEL

Many of the brand’s customers are active in the realm of high-performance sports, and a demand for immediate legibility of the dial, together with designer Antonio Terranova’s quest for the ultimate contemporary classical style, has fuelled the new-look flagship timepiece.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II TITANIUM PINK GOLD
CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II TITANIUM PINK GOLD

Retaining the same functionalities as Cvstos’ Challenger Chronograph models, the Challenge Chrono II comprises a Cvstos 577 automatic chronograph movement and Cvstos Technology tungsten 88 rotor. Key design differences include a more rationalized dial and lighter construction, aided by a choice of tungsten and titanium materials.

The Challenge Chrono II offers optimal readability, thanks to new positioning of the chronograph counter subdials, yet which still provides visibility onto the elegant inner mechanics below. Thicker baton indexes and bolder counters in broad strokes of white SuperLuminova, bring extra clarity to the dial. Previous Arabic numerals have been removed to better accentuate the tachymeter reading, and ensure the hour display takes centre stage.

CVSTOS CHALLENGE CHRONO II STEEL BLUE

The date counter remains at 3 o’clock, whilst the neighbouring 42-hour power reserve indicator is now emphasized in an accent colour, for exquisitely precise reading.

For comfort and practicality, weight is effortlessly lifted from the timepiece through a bezel redesign, now featuring structured inserts, which lend dynamism and shear essential milligrams from the case structure.

Similarly, the strap, in grooved rubber, enhances the timepiece’s sporting allure whilst offering a more lightweight interpretation of a full rubber strap. This rugged motif is echoed in the ridged, gripper push buttons – a new feature on the Challenge Chrono II.

Still with a barrel-shaped case and water resistance to 100 meters, the Challenge Chrono II is currently available in three variants: steel, titanium with pink 5N gold lateral elements, and a titanium all-black variant, with sporty red accents.

Once again, Cvstos’ founders, Antonio Terranova and Sassoun Sirmakes are upholding their avant-garde status; by further refining their vision of the craft and distilling their particular brand of haute horology into the quintessential expression of technical elegance, Cvstos ushers in a new chapter of timekeeping design and excellence.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL

Gustave Eiffel, the French visionary civil engineer who has marked an entire era through his great architectural achievements, has made over 300 creations all over the world, namely the La Tour Eiffel, of course, the metallic frame of the New York Statute of Liberty, as well as various bridges such as the Maria Pia de Porto bridge, has also actively participated at the Panama Canal project.

Perpetuating the vision of his ancestor, «Combine beauty with practicality», nowadays, Philippe Couperie Eiffel’s works reflect in the Swiss manufacturer CVSTOS’ products to give rise to the timepiece called La Gustave Eiffel by CVSTOS.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL
Founded in 2005 by Sassoun Sirmakes, the son of the Franck Muller group’s CEO, and by the designer Antonio Terranova, an engineer by training who previously worked for the biggest Swiss watches companies, CVSTOS is a manufacturer of luxury watches, specializing in the design and creation of contemporary watches that combine state-of-the-art technologies with luxury.

State-of-the-art technology and design, these are the values they share with Gustave Eiffel. Also, the values upon which this company was founded: boldness, performance, efficiency and elegance.

To pay tribute to Gustave Eiffel, the Iron Magician, CVSTOS present their new CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL timepiece that celebrates performance, state-of-the-art technology and aestheticism, the four pillars of this brand.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL

The look of this timepiece stands for the technical and aesthetic memory of this great man.Indeed, the metallic structure, represented by the famous Cross of Saint Andrew, the technical heritage from Gustave Eiffel, a simply mathematical beauty, has inspired this timepiece.

Following the example of the famous Tour Eiffel, with the tonneau-shaped middle  (very  finely  carved,  requiring  45  minutes  to  process  only  the motives), the CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL has a structure akin to the Parisian elegance and aesthetics, inspired by the famous Cross of Saint Andrew, which symbolises rigidity, transparency and lightness alike.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL

From the same spectacular and unexpected perspectives, the mechanism, which comes straight from the CVSTOS parts factory, and which is called the CVS350 JETLINER AUTOMATIC,  with  a  power  reserve  of  48 hours, was designed in the same vein of the motives inspired from Gustave Eiffel’s principles. This calibre can be admired through a large sapphire crystal, which is accentuated by the bimetallic skeleton dial.

The semi instantaneous date indicator is also carved from the block through various state-of-the-art technological processes, which is a visual reminder of the Tour’s elevators’ gear trains. The dial’s high readability is provided by the metallic indexes whose centre is covered in a luminescent material.

CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL

The transparent case-back reveals the heart of the mechanism and to discover the arrangement of all the movement components. An excellent readability is therefore provided on the work of these master-watchmakers, which is then highlighted by the three dimensional look of this openwork movement.

Carved out from Steel 316-L, or from bronze PDV treated Steel, the tonneau-shaped case is admirably emphasised by the purity of its lines and volume.  This polished architectural work, easily identifiable amidst all, contributes to CVSTOS’ aesthetic distinction in the closed world of fine Horlogerie.

With up to 100 meters water resistance, the CVSTOS GUSTAVE EIFFEL is  available  in  fine  alligator  leather  in  various  colours,  which is  lined  with ALCANTARA®  materials,  with  a  specific  look  dedicated specifically to this model. Or, for the purists, a more classical bracelet is available, with a tongue buckle or a double pusher clasp.
