CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

CODE41 has launched a pre-order campaign for the newly launched ANOMALY-T4 watch.

The ANOMALY-T4 is a worthy descendant of the ANOMALY collection, which marked the beginning of the CODE41 watchmaking adventure back in 2016. This automatic timepiece stands out with its innovative dial layout with visible mechanism, characteristic design features, eco-friendly nature and affordability.

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

The ANOMALY-T4 boasts great quality with a unique identity imparted by its remarkable technical character and its refined design.

The open-worked dial layout with cross-shaped bridges offers the magnificent view of the intrinsic mechanical movement beating inside. The transparent case-back provides the glimpse of the oscillating weight with Geneva stripes.

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

The CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 is equipped with a Sellita (SW200-1 S a) self-winding movement, renowned for its excellent precision (-7/+7s per day) and its great reliability.

The ANOMALY watch features a 316L recycled steel case. Fitted with anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass and transparent back, this high-quality automatic watch is watertight to 100m (10ATM). The ultra-powerful Super-LumiNova® (BGW9) applied to hands and indices enhance dial visibility in the dark.

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

The ANOMALY-T4’s eco-friendly case (case middle, bezel and back) is made of 100% recycled 316L grade 4441 stainless steel. Exceptionally resistant to corrosion, this low-carbon steel alloy is produced in partnership with Panatere, a pioneering Swiss company in the transformation of 100% recycled and recyclable raw materials.

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

What’s more, two new models of eco-friendly strap are being offered for the ANOMALY-T4, both made from recycled polyester fibers. In order to do so, CODE41 has partnered with the Spanish company Seaqual®, specialists in the production of straps from plastic bottles recovered from the bottom and surface of the Mediterranean Sea.

CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition

The CODE41 ANOMALY-T4 Creator Edition is now officially available for pre-order from June 29 to July 21 2022. The price starts from 1,398 CHF (1,498 EUR / 1,298 GBP / 1,373 USD).

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

CODE41 presents X41 Edition 6, a new series offering fine mechanical watchmaking pieces including a high-end model with sapphire case. These new watches will be available for pre-order exclusively on the X41 project page from Tuesday April 12 2022 at 3pm until May 4 2022 at 3pm.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

Because of its exceptional hardness, Sapphire is an extremely difficult material to work. It demands high levels of expertise to create sapphire watch cases. Not a single error can be permitted throughout each stage of its production, from machining to polishing, up to and including its assembly.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

Sapphire comes with many distinct properties. Firstly, its hardness is very much superior to that of steel, titanium and other materials. This unique quality grants it incredible resistance to scratching. Two times lighter than steel, sapphire also offers exceptional comfort for your wrist. Another important advantage is its transparency, which allows the splendor of the X41’s skeleton movement to be admired from every angle.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

CODE41 is offering two more variants of this watch: the X41 AeroCarbon and the X41 Titanium. The movements all X41 timepieces incorporate colored bridges.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

9 new bridge colors were subject to the community’s vote, with two selected for this Edition 6: green and rainbow. These two new colors have been added to the existing list and are available in all configurations: Sapphire, AeroCarbon and grade 5 Titanium. To create colored bridges, CODE41 has collaborated with Positive Coating SA, Swiss specialists in the decoration of watch components.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

The translucent strap is the other big new feature for this 6th edition of the X41. As well as offering a case made entirely of sapphire, allowing for a mesmerizing transparency, the X41 Edition 6 can be paired with a translucent R41 strap for an even more captivating transparent experience. The translucent strap is available for all models in this 6th edition.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

Available from 14,793 CHF, the X41 Edition 6 Sapphire offers exceptional value for money, made possible by an even more drastic reduction of the mark-ups applied to this model, with the aim of making this Fine Watchmaking piece accessible to as many people as possible.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

The exclusive CODE41 manufacture movement was designed, produced and assembled entirely in Switzerland in limited series. It comes with a peripheral oscillating weight.

CODE41 X41 Edition 6

Founded in 2016 by Claudio D’Amore, CODE41’s mission is to make the art of watchmaking accessible to all. The X41 Edition 6 will be available from: 5,393 CHF for the titanium version, 5,893 CHF for the AeroCarbon version and 14,793 CHF for the sapphire version. CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

Following the record sales recorded during the first edition, the CODE41 Swiss NB24 chronograph is making its big return with its Edition 2.

Initially launched in April 2020, the NB24 project met with the most enthusiastic of receptions when pre-orders opened in January of the following year. During the Creator Edition pre-orders, 1,380 copies were sold, generating a total of 5,298,394 CHF.

CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

For this highly technical skeleton chronograph, a customized version of the celebrated Valjoux 7750 movement has been used. Reworked by CODE41, the exclusive design of the NB24 features a number of significant changes.

CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

The bridges have been redesigned and the chronograph counters moved, so that the 30-minute disc is at 6 o’clock and the second disc at 3 o’clock. The peripheral oscillating weight is visible from the dial side.

CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

Almost 85% of the NB24 comes from Switzerland, including nearly all of the 326 components, with the exception of the mainspring and the jewels. However, this watch does not feature the Swiss Made inscription. Instead, the NB24 is certified TTO, a label conceived by CODE41 which puts transparency on origin and costs of production at the heart of its approach.

CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

For this second edition, the NB24’s case will be 42mm and available in two variants: AeroCarbon and grade 5 titanium.

The watch is fitted with high-quality sapphire crystal, both scratch-resistant and anti-reflective. It is watertight to a depth of 100 meters.

CODE41 NB24 Chronograph Edition 2

The self-winding chronograph movement has been fine-tuned in 5 positions, and boasts a power reserve of 48 hours.

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

After almost a year of waiting, the CODE41’s popular unisex watch DAY41 is finally available again for pre-order.

The DAY41 was born two years ago, when CODE41 decided to create a mechanical watch for women.

In June 2019 CODE41 began development of the DAY41 with the help of its community. Surprisingly, this model didn’t look anything like a classic women’s watch. Its lugs, its “chambered” case and its openwork dial gave it a raw, machined esthetic. Dedicated to women with a passion for mechanical timepieces, DAY41 is equally suitable for men.

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

The Creator Edition was then launched in January 2020, when it met with immense success among the CODE41 community, as proven by the 1,910 pieces sold. The reception for the second edition, unveiled in November 2020, was just as enthusiastic, with 1,109 pieces sold for a total (the two editions combined) of 3,831,865 CHF.

Inspired this success and the pressing demand of the CODE41 members, the brand is offering an edition 3 of the DAY41. This 3rd edition will be available for only 3 weeks, from October 13 to November 4 2021. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2022.

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

The price of the DAY41 will start from 1,150 CHF per piece. As with all CODE41 models, there’s nothing random about this rate; in order to be as fair as possible, the team has based it on the costs of production of the watch and on the minimum mark-up required to ensure its profitability.

This transparent approach is found in the label founded by CODE41, the TTO (Total Transparency on Origin). The idea behind its creation is to offer an alternative to the Swiss Made label, which, despite its strong reputation, continues to prove misleading for consumers.

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

The CODE41 DAY41 is equipped with the STP-15 self-winding movement of Swiss origin. Known for its excellent value for money and above-average technical performance, this calibre offers a minimal daily difference of -/+15 seconds. It has a power reserve of 44 hours (as opposed to the usual 40 hours) and has been tested in 5 different positions (normally 2 or 3).

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

The front and back of the watch are fitted with scratch-proof sapphire crystal, treated beforehand with an antireflective coating. As for the case, it’s made from high quality 316L stainless steel. Finally, the DAY41 is watertight to a depth of 100 meters.

The DAY41 comes in two sizes: 37mm and 40mm. In terms of colors, 5 variants are available for the 37mm, including one set with diamonds, and 3 variants for the 40mm size.

CODE41 DAY41 Edition 3

Future buyers of a DAY41 will be able to choose from a large selection of straps to suit all tastes. The new feature this year is the R41 strap, the latest addition to the CODE41 range. Made from FKM (Fluorocarbon Rubber), this high-end rubber strap is available in various colors.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

CODE41 has announced a brand-new pre-order campaign for its latest Anomaly Evolution watch collection.

In 2016, start-up brand CODE41 entered into the world of watchmaking by offering total transparency on origin and costs, by shining a light on the Swiss Made label, and by giving power to their community.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

The brand became a reality by raising more than 500K CHF on Kickstarter with its ANOMALY collection and its first 2 models, ANOMALY-01 and ANOMALY-02. The ANOMALY collection has been a real success over the last 4 years, with almost 15,000 pieces sold throughout the world.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

Now, CODE41 has decided to give the ANOMALY collection a second lease of life. For this new version, CODE41 has combined the best features of the two original models: the technical, distinctive and recognizable design of the ANOMALY-01, and the Swiss movement and date of the ANOMALY-02.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

Additionally, CODE41 has implemented the following improvements:

  • Watertightness increased to 100M
  • Assembled in Switzerland
  • Improved display / addition of indices in Luminova
  • Reduced total thickness for better ergonomics. Thickness reduced by 1.5mm
  • Strengthened crown
  • Transparent case-back

The ANOMALY EVOLUTION has been created in close collaboration with the owners of the original ANOMALY 01 and ANOMALY 02 versions. Once again, CODE41 has put the members of its community at the heart of this project through a number of votes and work sessions.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

The ANOMALY EVOLUTION collection is available in 4 versions; as well as the natural steel color, it’s available in black, charcoal gray and a very original blue-gray.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

Each model is offered with a wide selection of interchangeable straps fitted with deployment clasps.

CODE41 Anomaly Evolution

To suit any size of wrist (men’s or women’s), CODE41 has decided to offer 38mm and 41.5mm versions for the ANOMALY EVOLUTION collection.

The CODE41ANOMALY EVOLUTION will be offered as per following details:

  • Opening of pre-orders: April 28 2021, 3pm CET

CODE41 announces the launch of a second series of their X41 limited edition timepieces

Following the presale of the first 700 watches last March (500 creator editions and 200 from the standard series), the brand CODE41 has announced that a new limited edition run of 300 watches will be put on pre-sale on October 30 2019.

When preorders opened on the CODE41 website at 3pm on March 12 2019, hundreds of enthusiasts rushed to reserve one of the first 500 X41 Fine Watchmaking pieces. In less than 3 hours, the counter recorded more than 1,000,000€ in sales, up to almost 2,000,000€ in 48 hours. This gamble paid off for this young Swiss start-up, whose ambition is to offer the public an example of Fine Watchmaking for less than 5,500€.

Far from just a temporary buzz, public interest in the X41 project seems to have settled in for the long term. In fact, in the months following the first edition, the number of members on the X41 waiting list has been constantly growing, and has now reached over 3,000.

This public interest in the X41 and recent figures for the Swiss watchmaking industry seem to show that Swiss watchmaking has new opportunities for growth within its reach. As the latest figures published this morning by the Swiss watchmaking federation confirm, demand for the sector of watches under 5,000€ has been the most affected by foreign competition.

The Swiss high-end sector, however, seems to be standing firm for the moment, thanks to the difficulty of imitating its expertise in the production of complex movements. On October 30 2019, CODE41 will launch the second numbered edition of its X41 watch.

The X41 movement showcases the superior expertise specific to Fine Watchmaking. Each component is produced in Switzerland, on demand and exclusively for the CODE41 community. Finishing touches and assembly are performed by hand. The time is read directly on the movement, without a dial, to truly highlight the magic of these mechanical sculptures.

For a watch to be considered Swiss Made, at least 60% of its value must be of Swiss origin. The X41 project has managed to achieve 90%, thus doing far more than enough to meet the requirements. And yet the X41 watches bear no mention of being Swiss Made, as CODE41 has opposed this deceptive label since the beginning.

CODE41 X41 PROJECT – Making the First Community Designed Manufacture Movement

For their second project, Switzerland based CODE41 team has decided to manufacture the first community designed mechanical watch movement.

Having disrupted the Swiss Made label somewhat with their policy of total transparency, CODE41 has now decided to turn their attention to Haute Horlogerie, by offering an exclusive manufacture movement with Grande Date and peripheral weight, all for a surprisingly affordable cost.

With this new project, CODE41 brings a unique opportunity to take part in the development of the first community-designed movement in order to produce a timepiece that showcases the most in-depth watchmaking expertise, all for an unbeatable price. Each component is machined on demand in Switzerland, exclusively for the CODE41 community. The finishing touches and assembly are carried out by hand. The time is read directly on the movement, without a dial, to highlight the magic of these mechanical sculptures.

The peripheral oscillating weight fitted to the X41 movement is a symbol of the genuine technical feats achieved by only a handful of brands. It allows a reduction in thickness and more transparency compared to a standard weight. Many big-name brands have already attempted to integrate such a feature, often only to abandon it because the ball bearing was too loud, inefficient and costly to implement. In the case of the X41 movement, after several years of development, these problems have been resolved by the brand’s partner by machining and handling the finishing (hardening and polishing) of the components of the ball bearing in-house, in order to guarantee perfect dimensions and finishing.

In designing the faceted look of the X41 movement’s bridges, Claudio D’Amore has created an innovative and yet recognizable esthetic that stands out from traditional Fine Watchmaking designs.

The technical design of the case contrasts with the fineness of the details. The chambered construction and the cylinders on the lugs bring character and originality to this new CODE41 model. It remains in keeping with the highly-regarded ANOMALY collection, which has already accumulated close to 10,000 sales.

At a rate of one chapter per month since April 2018, the CODE41 community, now made up of a staggering 200,000 members, has been invited to give their opinion on the development of the X41 project. As well as votes on esthetic decisions, the members have also opted for automatic rewinding, the addition of a Grande Date feature, and for the case to be made from titanium.

The prototypes are now in production, and the launch date for pre-orders has been set for March 12, 2019. Over the course of 30 days, CODE41 members will be able to order one of the 500 X41 watches in this special “Creator Edition” series. Delivery is scheduled for December 2019.

CODE41 is not a brand in the traditional sense of the term; it’s more of a community project. The aim is to gather enthusiasts around a watchmaking project, to help it to become a reality.

Supporting the X41 project during pre-orders grants the following benefits:-
– Become a Creator Member of the X41 Project
– Obtain a numbered piece marked CREATOR EDITION
– The chance to visit the workshops during production
– Enjoy a launch price much lower than the future price
– Enjoy a special 3-year guarantee instead of the usual 2 years

For a watch to be Swiss Made, at least 60% of its value must come from Switzerland. The figure for the X41 project is 90%, easily exceeding this requirement. Such a high quantity of Swiss components is very rare! However, the X41 watches will bear no mention of being Swiss Made, as CODE41 has been opposed to this misleading label since the very start.

With their TTO label, standing for Total Transparency on Origin, CODE41’s entire approach is based around transparency. Here are the production costs and origin of each component and each process.

Component, Process Cost and Origin
Movement: 1,650 CHF / 1,455€ – Swiss
Titanium case, transparent back: 130 CHF / 115€ – China
Leather strap, deployment clasp: 30 CHF / 26€ – Italy/China
Assembly: 30 CHF / 26€ – Swiss
Packaging: 25 CHF / 22€ – China
Total ex-Tax: 1,865 CHF / 1,644€

In 2016, CODE41 disrupted the hushed world of watchmaking by offering total transparency on development, costs and origin. Relying on a solid and enthusiastic community, an initial
“crowd-funding” drive allowed them to raise the amazing sum of 543,150 CHF at the end of 2016. There are now more than 200,000 members contributing to this incredible adventure with the ambition of creating high-quality watches at fair prices.

Goldgena Project CODE 41 – ANOMALY 1 & ANOMALY 2

The name Goldgena Project has been making rounds in social media and famous online horology forums since March 2016. Thanks to its innovative idea – TTO (Total Transparency on Origin) – the creators of this project have attracted tens of thousands of visitors to its website plus Facebook followers nearing 50,000.

The idea behind this project was to create attractive mechanical watches at affordable prices, with a policy of complete transparency on the origin of the components and prices. All while breaking away from the Swiss Made label and the traditional approach of a watchmaking industry in crisis. Now, Goldgena Project launches its brand, CODE 41 on popular crowd funding website, Kickstarter. Two models, ANOMALY 1 & ANOMALY 2 are being introduced, including a range of watch straps.

ANOMALY 1 features a sculpted dial and houses a Miyota 82S7 automatic movement whereas ANOMALY 2 features a more sober dial and houses a Swiss Made ETA 2824 automatic movement. Miyota 82S7 is a 21 jewels automatic movement. Beating at the rate 21,600 vph this Japanese origin movement can deliver a power reserve up to 40 hours. The 25 jewels, ETA 2824 self winding movement beats at the rate of 28,800 and offers power reserve up to 40 hours.

Available in silver or black version, ANOMALY 1’s dial, featuring a machined, partially opened design, accommodates skeleton hour and minute hands, small seconds disc and 24 hours disc. ANOMALY 2, featuring a sober and elegant dial available in black or silver version, houses skeleton hour and minute hands, central seconds hand and a window at 3’o clock for date display. Hands and indexes of both models are enhanced with super-Luminova for legibility during dark conditions.

Measuring 42mm diameter the stainless steel case has either satinated or sandblasted finishing and available in  steel or black/brown PVD versions. Its lugs and its screwed container design ensure strong, distinctive and recognizable appeal to the watch. Case thickness of ANOMALY 1& ANOMALY 2 is 12.8 mm and 12.2mm respectively. Lug width is 25 mm. Its front glass is sapphire crystal with AR coating and rear side of the watch is secured with screwed stainless steel caseback featuring CODE 41 logo. Water resistance is 50 meters. Both timepieces are offered with interchangeable straps crafted in calf leather.

By backing the CODE 41 Kickstarter campaign, customers can pre-order the timepieces, with pledge levels starting from CHF 447 for ANOMALY 1 (Miyota 82S7) and CHF 525 for ANOMALY 2 (ETA 2824).

About Goldgena Project
The Goldgena Project is not just another Swiss watch brand, but an ambitious mission to create luxurious timepieces that carry total transparency of its origin.

The Goldgena Project was launched on 22 Mar 2016 in Switzerland with the goal of creating affordable mechanical watches with complete transparency regarding their origin and costs. The brand aims to shake up the ‘Swiss Made’ label and the traditional approach to distribution and marketing.

The Swiss Made label often mislead consumers, as most of the components are manufactured abroad. The Goldgena Team has decided to make their watches with complete transparency, and have thus created the TTO label; Total Transparency on Origin.

In September a crowd funding campaign was launched for the market entry of its debut timepiece.

The Goldgena Project is run by a small watch design workshop called cosanova, based in Lausanne.  Founded in 2005 by the designer Claudio D’Amore, this workshop has had the honor of working with around forty luxury watch brands, such as Tag Heuer, Parmigiani, Montblanc, Oris, Eberhard and Hautlence.

Born in Switzerland to Italian parents, in 2000 Claudio D’Amore (40) graduated from the ECAL (Lausanne Design School) with an HES degree in design. He then set off for London to work with Ross Lovegrove, the famous London-based designer, where he worked on the design of several watches for Tag Heuer (V4, Carrera Caliber 360, Golf Watch). Upon his return to Switzerland in 2005, he founded cosanova.
