Casio G-Shock Super Mario Bros. Model DW5600SMB-4ER

The new Casio G-Shock DW5600SMB-4ER model comes with design elements from the popular Nintendo® game, Super Mario Bros.

This limited-edition timepiece represents the classic 1980s game through its whimsical design and nostalgic theme, as well as Mario’s “never give up” attitude that parallels the spirit of challenge present in G-SHOCK’s origins.

Casio G-Shock Super Mario Bros. Model DW5600SMB-4ER

Both G-SHOCK and Super Mario are cultural icons from Japan that have amassed dedicated fanbases that span decades and countries. With this in mind, G-SHOCK brings the Super Mario Bros. world to life through a carefully curated design and playful details that will appeal to all generations of Super Mario lovers – Mario red on the bezel and dial, background blue of the game’s overworld stages and gold accents that recall Mario’s precious coins.

Casio G-Shock Super Mario Bros. Model DW5600SMB-4ER

The base model adopts the square DW-5600 design that represents G-SHOCK’s iconic silhouette. When turning on the backlight, the classic Mario is displayed, and by combining it with the glass-printed Koopa Troopa shell on the bottom of the dial, the iconic game move is reproduced.

The 8-bit Mario is printed on the band like camouflage, and all the dial fonts are 8-bit to create the atmosphere of 1985.

Casio G-Shock Super Mario Bros. Model DW5600SMB-4ER

To commemorate the collaboration, the watch comes in special packaging with an illustration of the opening screen of the game and Mario’s signature phrase, “Here we go!”

The Casio G-Shock DW5600SMB-4ER timepiece also comes equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology including:

● Shock Resistance
● 20 bar Water Resistance
● EL Backlight with Flash Alert
● Multi-Function Alarm
● Stopwatch (24 Hr)
● Countdown Timer (60 Min)

Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900RH Rui Hachimura Signature Model

Casio presents G-SHOCK DW-6900RH, the third signature model designed in collaboration with professional basketball player Rui Hachimura, who plays in the NBA.

Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900RH Rui Hachimura Signature Model

Hachimura not only plays for the Washington Wizards, but is also a key member of the Japanese national basketball team. Casio signed a global partnership agreement with Hachimura in November 2019 to support him as he pursues great things.

Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900RH Rui Hachimura Signature Model

The new DW-6900RH is a signature model designed in collaboration with Hachimura. This design begins with the shock-resistant DW-6900, nicknamed the “three-eyed watch” because of the row of three indicators on the dial, and highlights the Tateyama mountain range in Hachimura’s home prefecture of Toyama.

The dial is printed with a contour map of the Tateyama mountain range, while the light blue printing on the white band represents majestic snow-capped peaks.

Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900RH Rui Hachimura Signature Model

As befits a signature model, RUI HACHIMURA adorns the watch glass and his signature “Black Samurai” logo features on the case back, the LCD when the backlight is on, and the special packaging.

Casio G-SHOCK DW-6900RH Rui Hachimura Signature Model

The refreshing light blue and white color scheme draws on Hachimura’s roots, bringing to life the melting snow of the Japanese Alps.

Casio G-SHOCK “Flare Red” MTG-B3000FR and GWG-2040FR

Casio presents MTG-B3000FR and GWG-2040FR, new additions to the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. These Flare Red models have been released as a preface to the upcoming 40th anniversary celebrations of the G-SHOCK family.

G-SHOCK debuted in 1983 with a shock-resistant construction that overturned conventional wisdom on the fragility of wristwatches. In 2023, Casio will be celebrating 40th anniversary of this iconic collection through various activities, including releasing commemorative models and holding special events in various places around the world.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000FR
Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000FR

The Casio G-SHOCK 40th anniversary Flare Red models, the MTG-B3000FR and GWG-2040FR, feature multicolor laminated bezels made with phosphorescent materials in the red G-SHOCK brand color.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000FR

The design evokes solar flares, the massive eruptions of intense energy from the sun’s surface. Casio used a newly developed technique to laminate carbon and colored glass fiber sheets together and hew them into bezel form. Phosphorescent particles mixed into the glass fiber sheets create powerful designs that are stunning even in the dark.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000FR
Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000FR

The bezel of every single watch has its own unique look, since the materials present a one-of-a-kind appearance depending on where in the lamination the bezel is hewn. A solar flare-inspired pattern printed on the dial with clear toner adds to the dynamic face design.

Casio G-SHOCK GWG-2040FR

For the Casio G-SHOCK GWG-2040FR model, phosphorescent particles are also mixed into the forged carbon of the lugs that connect the case to the band to create random patterns of wondrous glow-in-the-dark beauty.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

Casio presents EQB-2000HR, the latest collaboration model with Honda Racing in the EDIFICE line of timepieces. The same authentic paint used in the red badge that appears on Honda Racing cars is used on the watch dial.

The collaboration between Honda Racing and EDIFICE has evolved since 2018 from a shared dedication to leveraging high-tech capabilities in their global pursuits.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

Taking as its base model the EQB-2000, with case design inspired by the suspension arms on formula race cars, the new EDIFICE EQB-2000HR is a high-performance chronograph with a color scheme that features the striking hue Honda has used for its iconic red badge.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

With roots in the design of the RA271 — a Honda race car that was the first entry by a Japanese automaker in an F1™ race in 1964 — the red Honda badge is a symbol of the company’s racing spirit that appears exclusively on its speed-delivering Type R cars, among commercially available cars. The same genuine paint used in this red badge is employed to color the X at the center of the watch dial.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

In addition, the Honda Racing Corporation “HRC” logo, which has been newly updated this year, is positioned at 3 o’clock on the dial, and a logo commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Suzuka Circuit’s establishment in 1962 by Honda is engraved on the case back.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

The strap features Alcantara, a 100% Made in Italy material that is also used in Honda Type R car interiors.

The Casio EDIFICE ECB-2000HR uses the Tough Solar charging system, which converts light from fluorescent lamps and other sources to power the watch, as well as Mobile Link features usable by pairing via Bluetooth® with a smartphone.

Casio EDIFICE EQB-2000HR

When used with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES app, the watch automatically adjusts the time. The app also enables easy and intuitive setting of world time from a smartphone as well as transfer and display of stopwatch data measured on the watch, all of which provide support for racing activities.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100

The best-selling G-SHOCK 2100 series from Casio now welcomes a full-metal variant, the GM-B2100.

GA-2100 was introduced in 2019 as a modern interpretation of the very first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C. Thanks to its streamlined, minimalist design and the attractive octagonal bezel design, this model became a highly sought-after contemporary timepiece.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100D-1AER

The new “CASIOAK” with metal design proudly features iconic octagonal bezel of the 2100 line. The Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100 watch employs stainless steel as the exterior material for the case, band, and bezel.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100BD-1AER

In order to ensure shock resistance, the shock-resistant structure created for the iconic shape of the full-metal GMW-B5000 was adopted for the screw-back case, band, and bezel joints of these watches as well, with buffering components made of fine resin installed between the bezel and case.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100GD-5AER

Solid and stylish, the octagonal bezel of G-SHOCK GM-B2100 was made using multiple processes: forging, then cutting and polishing.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100D-1AER

To accentuate the beauty of the metal, the components are treated with different finishes — the bezel with a circular hairline finish on its top surface, the band with a vertical hairline finish, and the bezel bevel, buttons and case back with a mirror finish.

Casio G-SHOCK GM-B2100GD-5AER

The dial is composed of multiple parts to create depth and dimension, while the inset dial ring at the 9 o’clock position and the index marks are treated with a vapor deposition finish.

Hands on Review: Casio G-Shock GA-B2100

In this “Hands on Review”, I am introducing the most recent evolution of the Casio G-Shock GA-2100 aka the “CASIOAK” watch.

The model GA-B2100 was launched in May 2022. This new member of the best-selling G-Shock GA-2100 Analog-Digital family brings in advanced features such as Bluetooth connectivity and tough solar movement.

I have recently purchased a midnight blue variant (GA-B2100-2AER). The other versions presently available are: All Black (GA-B2100-1A1ER), Black with Grey (GA-B2100-1AER), Green (GA-B2100-3AER) and Yellow (GA-B2100C-9AER).

Hands on Review Casio G-Shock GA-B2100

Along with points of the hands on review of Casio G-Shock GA-B2100, I have also added some details related to various functions of the watch including smart-phone connectivity. This will be useful for those who are unfamiliar with “G-shock Connected” models.

Case

Boasting an eye-catching octagonal case design, the G-Shock GA-2100 has gained the nickname CASIOAK due to its resemblance with the iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. The new Bluetooth Casioak retains the identical design. In fact, it comes with some technically advanced functions and features.

The GA-B2100 “CASIOAK Tough Solar” watch measures 48.5 × 45.4 × 11.9 mm and weighs 52gm. In comparison, GA-2100 is 1mm thinner and weighs 51gm. The new model maintains the sleek profile of GA-2100 Analogue-Digital series.

 Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 case

The materials used for the case and bezel remain same: Carbon and Resin. Fortified with a Carbon Core Guard structure, this watch is extremely shock resistant and has a water resistance of 200 meters. The case-back in steel is secured with four screws. The front glass is flat mineral crystal.

The GA-B2100-2AER model spotlights an eye-catching mid-night blue color case with contrasting steel pushbuttons.

 Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 case

On the case-back, you will find a multitude of inscriptions and numbers. The watch is robust yet lightweight, comfortable to wear and also looks great.

Push buttons

Casio GA-B2100 has four push buttons: A at 10 o’ clock, B at 2 o’clock, C at 8 o’clock and D at 4 o’clock. These buttons are used for operating various functions, and their roles vary depending upon the mode of operation selected by the user.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Push buttons

Dial

The multi-layer dial of GA-B2100 features two large analogue hands at the centre, the model selector at the left side (between 8 and 10 o’clock markers) and a dual-window LCD display at the right-side (between 3 and 6 o’clock markers). The dial design is similar to that of G-Shock GA-2100, but has some functional differences.

The GA-B2100-2AER model comes with a grey color dial. Both the hour and minute hands are enhanced with the luminescent coating to make them visible in the dark. However, the indices are not lumed.

 Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 lume

The GA-2100 watch has a week of the day display near the 9 o’clock hour-marker whereas the new Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 model is provided with a mode selector/indicator at the same place.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Dial

The mode selector features a hand to indicate various modes as inscribed on the arc shaped scale positioned on its right side. On this arc shaped scale, you will find eight markings: WT, ST, TR, AL, the Bluetooth icon, H, M and L. By pressing C button, the owner can select these modes.

WT stands for World Time, ST for Stop Watch, TR for Timer and AL for Alarm. The Bluetooth icon is for the smart phone connectivity mode. H, M & L respectively indicates High, Medium and Low charge levels of the solar rechargeable battery in the Timekeeping Mode.

Hands on Review Casio G-Shock GA-B2100

Above the LCD panel at 3 o’clock, the dial of Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 contains inscriptions “TOUGH SOLAR” and “Bluetooth” where as GA-2100 has “WR 20 BAR” text.

GA-B2100’s Digital display features status indicators for Alarm (ALM) , Hourly Time Signal (SIG) , Connectivity with Smart Phone (RCVD) , Reminder (REM) and Hand-Shifting Function (HND). In comparison, GA-2100 has indicators for MUTE, ALM, SIG, DST and HND.

Hands on Review Casio G-Shock GA-B2100

Reading out the information shown on the digital display is somewhat tricky due to its miniature size. It is also difficult to read the markings on the mode selector scale.

An illumination system helps to glance at the LCD panel during low visibility conditions. It can be activated by the B button of the watch. The illumination duration can be set to either 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds.

Strap

The wristband of GA-B2100-2AER is made of resin. Featuring the same color of the case, it has a stainless steel pin buckle. The two-part strap is properly secured to the case-body with steel screws, offering seamless fitting.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Strap

The watch also features strap release mechanisms with a protector at the lug ends. Thanks to this flexible yet strong band, the G-Shock GA- B 2100 is extremely comfortable to wear.

Power source

The Casio G-Shock GA-2100 is powered by a quartz movement with an approximate battery life of three years. The new GA-B2100 Bluetooth watch however comes with a Tough Solar movement. The power is supplied from a rechargeable battery that is charged by a solar panel integrated into the face of the watch. The charging levels (L, M and H) are indicated by the mode hand in the Timekeeping Mode.

Hand shifting feature

The analogue hands of hour and minute sometimes hinder the view of LCD display. To read the digital indications without any obstruction, GA-B2100 offers a Hand Shifting function. It can be activated by pressing C button while holding B. Both hour and minute hands will be shifted to an alternative position, allowing the user to clearly read the information shown on the digital display.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Hand shifting feature

To bring back the analogue hands to its normal timekeeping position, hold down the B button and press C again. It is to be noted that the hands will automatically go to the original place if you do not perform any operation for about one hour.

Smartphone Connectivity

The Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 model can be connected to a smart phone using Bluetooth wireless technology. Pressing the C button continuously for at least 3 seconds will activate the Bluetooth function of the watch.

You should also switch on the Bluetooth link of the smartphone for pairing. I have paired my GA-B2100 with an android smart-phone loaded with CASIO WATCHES App without any issue. The signal range is however limited (less than two meters).

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Smartphone Connectivity

To utilize the smart features of GA-B2100, you need to install the CASIO WATCHES App on your smartphone. This application is compatible with Android (version 8.0 or later) and iOS (iOS 13.0 or later) based phones. During the installation of the App, you need to enter a CASIO ID to register the phone. Therefore before downloading the App, please register your watch and obtain the login details by visiting casio.com. Once the App installation is completed, switch on the Bluetooth function of the smart phone.

For pairing your Casio GA-B2100 with a smartphone, you need to activate Bluetooth mode. Place the watch near the phone (within one meter distance) and press the pushbutton C for at least three seconds. The digital display will start flashing CNCT and the mode selector hand will move and point to the Bluetooth icon.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Smartphone Connectivity

When the connection between the watch and phone established, CNCT will stop flashing. Repeat the operation if the display shows ERR (error). Once pairing is complete, the CASIO WATCHES App on your smart phone show the status as connected.

Casio G-Shock GA-B2100 Smartphone Connectivity

Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000MB

Introduced in February 2022, GMW-B5000MB is a black full metal variant of the Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000 watch model.

Based on the GMW-B5000, the original full-metal take on the first-ever G-SHOCK, the new GMW-B5000MB features an array of detailed finishes that come together in a refined black design.

Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000MB

The GMW-B5000MB brings together individual components treated with honing finishes and multiple polishings in a premium-quality, shock-resistant watch with a uniquely appealing look that makes the most of rich texture and feel.

The entire exterior of the timepiece is honed and treated with black ion plating to deliver matte black sophistication, and additional finishes are applied to individual details.

Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000MB

The hairline finish on the raised areas on the side of the bezel and the sides of the band retains a metallic texture, while tempering the shine. The mirror finish, by contrast, adds glossy shine to the surface of the screws, buttons, and other details.

Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000MB

With this latest model, Casio adds a new finishing process, as well. After the initial black ion plating, the top surface of the bezel is polished again with a hairline finish to expose most of the stainless steel beneath, with its silver-colored gleam.

Casio G-SHOCK GMW-B5000MB

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

In March 2022, Casio released a new addition to the MR-G series, the flagship line of the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The new MRG-B5000 is the first MR-G timepiece to feature the iconic design of the very first G-SHOCK.

With a nod to the design of the DW-5000C, the first-ever G-SHOCK released in 1983, the MRG-B5000 now brings a brilliant shine and dignified distinction to the shock-resistant watch by employing cutting-edge metals finished with master polishing craftsmanship.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

In order to apply sophisticated polished finishes to even the tiniest corners of the complex bezel form, which is made of 25 different components, Casio developed the new Multi-Guard Structure.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

The new structure incorporates shock-absorbent parts in the multi-component bezel to ensure excellent shock-resistance, while also allowing polished finishes to be applied to each individual component, down to the most challenging spots, for a stunningly beautiful finish.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

The band employs a special structure, as well, with separate pins embedded in round holes in each metal link, to allow detailed polishing for an equally beautiful finish on the band.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

The quality of the master polishing craftsmanship really shows on the cutting-edge, made-in-Japan materials used for the MRG-B5000. COBARION, which has a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum, is used for the top surface of the bezel.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

The band is made with DAT55G, a titanium alloy that is both about three times harder than pure titanium and highly workable, making it scratch-resistant and ensuring a long-lasting, beautiful mirror finish.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

Masterfully crafted polishing and meticulously selected materials come together to create a timepiece worthy of that original design, but with the trademark quality of the MR-G line, which stands at the pinnacle of the diverse family of G-SHOCK watches.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

When it comes to function, the MRG-B5000 features radio-controlled calibration and Smartphone Link connectivity.

The watch connects with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES smartphone app to automatically adjust to the correct time. It also comes equipped with a solar charging system and high-brightness LED light for added convenience.

Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000

As with other MR-G watches, the MRG-B5000 is crafted on the high-end Premium Production Line at Yamagata Casio, the “mother factory” of Casio watch production.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100 “CASIOAK” Utility Black Series

Casio has expanded its popular G-SHOCK 2100 series by adding new models. Three new watches expand the ever-growing 2100 family and come along with hip colorways in utility design.

The G-SHOCK GA-2100 Utility Black Series is the indestructible capsule collection for modern explorers that can withstand anything that comes its way.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100 “CASIOAK” Utility Black Series

The GA-2100-1A2ER, GA-2100-1A4ER and the hero model, the GA-2100-1A3ER, are based on one of G-SHOCK’s most popular designs, the all-black GA-2100, with fluorescent features adding minimalist highlights to the new additions.

The hands of the digital-analog combination model, as well as the day of the week indicator and hour markers, clearly stand out playing off the deep black of the strap, bezel, and dial in blue, green, and orange.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100 “CASIOAK” Utility Black Series

The interplay of accurate and functional design with colorful and modern highlights is currently seen in contemporary, predominantly urban street styles, often reminiscent of military uniforms from a dystopian science fiction epic.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100 “CASIOAK” Utility Black Series

The new Utility Black series skillfully ties futuristic, simultaneously classic design and high functionality together. In addition, neon colors are also a distinctive feature of fashion and accessories of the 80s, the birth decade of G-SHOCK.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100 “CASIOAK” Utility Black Series

Launched in 2019, the basic GA-2100 model is based on the concept of the DW-5000C, the very first G-SHOCK, but features an impressive combination of digital and analog displays, as well as a particularly slim profile and a distinctive octagonal design.

Available from March 3rd, 2022, the three new models, GA-2100-1A2ER, GA-2100-1A3ER and GA-2100-1A4ER come with an MSRP of 99.90 Euros.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

Casio MTG-B3000 is a new member of the G-SHOCK family of shock-resistant watches. The MTG-B3000, which boasts an innovative slim module and shock-resistant construction, is an even more streamlined addition to the MT-G line of timepieces, all of which feature a construction that makes the most of the properties of both metal and resin.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

Released in March 2022, the MTG-B3000 pairs an innovative slim module and shock-resistant structure to achieve a streamlined shock-resistant watch with case that is more than 2mm slimmer than the previous model (MTG-B1000).

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

Making full use of high-density mounting technology, Casio has developed the slimmest module yet for a G-SHOCK solar chronograph.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

To address the all-new shock-resistant structure required by this new slim module, Casio delivers an even more advanced Dual Core Guard structure.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

The newly developed guard structure protects the module with a carbon-reinforced resin case and encloses the exterior with metal components, retaining the metal look and texture while reducing the weight, and further protecting the module with a case back featuring raised sides.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

Repeated processes of pressing, cutting, and polishing are applied to craft a stainless steel case back that protrudes upward in a 3D form. The raised sides protect the crown and buttons and serve as the lugs to secure the band. All of these innovative designs and technologies result in a metal timepiece with a mere 12.1mm case that is extremely comfortable to wear.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

When it comes to function, the MTG-B3000 features radio-controlled calibration and Smartphone Link connectivity via Bluetooth®.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B3000

The watch connects with the dedicated CASIO WATCHES smartphone app to automatically adjust to the correct time. It also comes equipped with a solar charging system and high-brightness LED light for practicality and convenience.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 “CASIOAK” with Bluetooth® Connectivity and Solar Charging System

Casio has announced the latest addition to the G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches. The five new GA-B2100 watches are the first in the iconic octagonal 2100 line to be equipped with Smartphone Link connectivity via Bluetooth® and solar charging capabilities.

Released in 2019, the base-model GA-2100 was a contemporary interpretation of the very first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C. Nicknamed “CASIOAK”, its simple, yet stylish design proved popular around the world, especially among younger consumers.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 Black × Gray

With Bluetooth® connectivity and a solar charging system, the new GA-B2100 shock-resistant watches add a whole new level of convenience. Smartphone pairing via Bluetooth® delivers accurate timekeeping. The Tough Solar charging system effectively converts light from fluorescent lamps and other sources to power the watch, eliminating the need to regularly replace the battery.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 Black × Black

In addition, these watches feature a slim module with optimized component layout to retain the compact watch face for which the 2100 line is known, yet still deliver enhanced functionality.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 Green

Combining this with the Carbon Core Guard structure, which protects the module with a carbon fiber-reinforced resin case, provides both shock resistance and a compact case that is still the same length and width as the GA-2100.

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 Blue

In terms of design, the dual-layer dial construction highlights the dimensionality of the LCD and inset dial. Meticulous attention to detail is evident in the metallic finish on the inset dial ring, which gives the dial a look of enhanced texture.

For these additions, Casio returns to the classic colors first used in the G-SHOCK 5600 line with reproductions of the yellow, green and blue of the DW-5600C-9BV (released in 1987, EOL), DW-5600B-3V (released in 1987, EOL), and DW-5600B-2V (released in 1987, EOL).

Casio G-SHOCK GA-B2100 Yellow

There are also two black options — a black and gray model in the same color scheme as the DW-5600C-1V (released in 1987, EOL) from the original 5600 series, as well as an all-black model.

Casio G-SHOCK MTGB2000YBD1

Casio has expanded its premium G-SHOCK MT-G series with the launch of the MTGB2000YBD1. The new model features a multi-layered carbon bezel frame, an advanced take on G-SHOCK’S latest Dual Core Guard Structure of a carbon monocoque case and metal frame. Now with the MTGB2000YBD1, the metal frame is replaced with a laminated carbon frame for improved strength to weight ratio, all in a sleek, black case with bright red accents.

Casio G-SHOCK MTGB2000YBD1

The new multi-layered carbon bezel frame is formed by layering and heat-pressing carbon and glass fiber sheets to make a plate-shaped base material, which is then cut and molded to the desired shape, delivering a bezel frame that is 77% lighter than the stainless-steel frame used in previous models. The model also features a layered-composite band made from both metal and fine resin parts to offer a better fit while retaining the look and luster of metal.

Casio G-SHOCK MTGB2000YBD1

For added strength, the top carbon layer of the bezel frame wraps around the sides of the watch and cylindrical carbon sheets are wrapped around the lugs used to connect the band. A polygonal crown complements the bezel frame design while bi-color layers and dial accents in G-SHOCK’s red add to the luxurious look and feel of the new model.

The MTGB2000YBD1 features G-SHOCK’S premium technical features, including Bluetooth® that allows the watch to be connected to a smartphone via the G-SHOCK Connected app, MULTIBAND 6 Atomic Timekeeping, Tough Solar Power, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, Super Illuminator high-brightness LED, and more.

The MTGB2000YBD1 has a retail price of $1,200.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B2000XMG

The new Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B2000XMG, which boasts a multicolor carbon bezel made by laminating carbon with colored glass fiber, is part of the MT-G line of watches, all of which feature a construction that makes the most of the properties of both metal and resin.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B2000XMG

The bezel for the MTG-B2000XMG is manufactured using a new process for randomly laminating carbon and colored glass fibers, from which the bezel is hewn. This process yields a multicolor bezel with a multilayered pattern, expressing the beautiful mystical coloration of Rainbow Mountain, which shows strata of different colors created by the oxidation of minerals built up over time from volcanic activity and tectonic movement.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B2000XMG

No two watches look exactly the same, each one revealing a completely unique multilayered pattern where the bezel is hewn.

Colorful ion plating (IP) adorns the watch’s componentry, from the rainbow IP on the inner edge of the bezel, to the rose gold IP of the buckle and band loop, to the light blue and purple IP of the front screws, buttons, and crown. The multicolor face design complements the hues of the bezel.

Casio G-SHOCK MTG-B2000XMG

The watch keeps accurate time anywhere in the world by receiving radio wave time-calibration signals. Smartphone Link functionality also ensures that the watch automatically stays up to date with time zone and daylight savings time (DST) changes by pairing with a dedicated app on a smartphone.
