BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

BIANCHET welcomes a new Carbon Orange version to the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork, an exclusive Swiss made luxury watch collection inspired by the Golden Ratio.

The BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork watch was introduced in 2020. The architecture of its movement, the design of the case and all the proportions have been thought out and designed according to the principles defined by the Golden Ratio 1.618.

During the Geneva Watch Days 2022, the brand revealed the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Orange watch.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

The Titanium-Dust-Infused Carbon used for the case is a new composite consisting of carbon fibre inter-layered with titanium powder to make it more luminous, more precious, with unexpected moiré reflections. The orange colour details capture the connection with life, earth and movement.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

Mathematically proportioned according to the Golden Ratio principle, the arcs of the tonneau-shaped case are accented by two fine bands of rubber in orange color.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

A Bianchet signature feature, these colour inserts fulfil a design and engineering purpose whilst defining the chromatic theme that extends through the hands and hour markers, the tone-on-tone rubber insert of the crown and the strap.

The watch has been designed to be shock resistant up to 6,000Gs –as well as water resistant to 5 ATM (about 50 metres). The watch offers an exceptional 105-hour power reserve.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

The sapphire crystal on the dial side and on the case back provides an unobstructed view of the Bianchet titanium tourbillon calibre B1.618. The plate, wheel bridges and tourbillon cage of the movement are all made of titanium.

The titanium calibre is adjusted to 6 positions, ensuring a running precision of -4 to +4 seconds per day. The lubricating oils are enhanced with nanodiamonds to reduce friction to an absolute minimum.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

The movement boasts several variations of hand-finishing on the plate and bridges. Each one is distinctive, and underlines the complexity of the calibre’s architecture and its spectacular arcs. Each surface is given its own finish.

Polishing, satin-finishing, bead-blasting and circular graining all serve the interplay of light and textures, whilst the black DLC coating contrasts beautifully with the reflections of the rhodium-plated cogwheels.

BIANCHET Carbon Orange Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Limited Edition

This new model comes with a soft natural rubber strap in orange and in black. Shorter lugs enhance both the case’s compact aesthetics and its feel on the wrist.

Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Titanium-Carbon Limited Editions

Unveiled at Barton7 during Geneva Watch Week this year, the new limited editions of the Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork watch unite noble materials with a sporty and technological spirit.

Established by the Franco-Italian couple Rodolfo and Emmanuelle Festa Bianchet, the Swiss haute horlogerie brand creates modern and refined watches by using the iconic Golden Number 1.618 and the work of Italian mathematician Fibonacci as design basis. Introduced 2020, the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork is the flagship collection of Bianchet.

The tonneau shape of the case, the openwork design of its movement, and the high end finishing of the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork watch illustrate the combination of Italian aesthetic sensibility and French sense of detail.

Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Titanium-Carbon Blue Limited Edition

The movement of the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork is the result of genuine aesthetic research. Conceived from the outset as a skeletonized movement, the Calibre B1.618 is all about a sensation of plumbing untold depths, a feeling accentuated by the curves, whose radii’s progression and interlacing are derived from the Fibonacci sequence.

Crafted from grade 5 titanium, the calibre B1.618 is able to withstand shocks of up to 6000G in all positions. The superposition of titanium arches and curves, in various shades of black, the floating skeletonized flanges which adorn the movement, play with light and transparency to create a sculptural architecture that is both strong and ethereal.

Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Titanium-Carbon Green Limited Edition

The tourbillon cage, the main plate and bridges, are all crafted from titanium and finished by hand, using mineral sands and natural fibres. Every wheel of the B1.618 gear-train is decorated by hand and coated with rhodium.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

To be unveiled at WATCHPRO Salon 2021 (12th and 13th November), the Carbon Earth edition of Bianchet’s Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork is limited to just 21 pieces.

Introduced in 2020 in a titanium version, the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork watch by Bianchet is inspired by the work of Italian mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci and the Golden Ratio of 1.618. The new variant’s case is made of Carbon fibre & titanium powder composite and natural vulcanised rubber.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

Perfectly proportioned and true to the Golden Ratio, the carbon tonneau case of the new timepiece is braced with two soft vulcanised rubber ‘seams’ that underscore the case’s ‘golden’ arc. A Bianchet hallmark, they fulfil a design and engineering function while defining the chromatic theme, extending to the hands and hour markers as well as to crown’s rubber insert and the strap. Here, the earth tone chosen for the rubber underscores the connection to elemental materials and forces.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

The case measures 43 mm in width, 50 mm in height (length) and 13 mm in thickness. This watch can withstand shocks up 6000G and it is water resistant up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres (50 metres).

Its shorter lugs enhance both the case’s compact, purposeful aesthetic and wear comfort. The supple strap made from natural rubber is available in ‘Earth’ and Black.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

In this advanced, lightweight and incredibly strong composite, titanium powder has been added to the carbon fibres. The result is a moiré effect that alternates between shiny and matte in a random pattern unique to each piece. The combination with natural rubber, which also fulfils both a design and a functional role, only enhances the unexpected interplay of the primeval with the sophisticated.

The different textures, curvatures and seeming weightlessness of the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork combine to provide a unique horological experience, making the watch a distinctive and natural extension of the wearer. Sapphire crystals on the case front and back offer an unobstructed view of the Bianchet B1.618 tourbillon movement.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

The plate, the gear-train bridges, and the tourbillon cage of this movement are made of titanium. A challenging material to begin with, it is doubly daunting when applied to horology, specifically the tourbillon. The titanium calibre is adjusted to 6 positions, ensuring an accuracy of -2 to +6 seconds per day. The lubricants are enriched with nano-diamonds, taking friction minimization to the next level.

Instead of following a traditional design that builds on concentric circles, which in effect only reflects the requirements of the mechanics, Bianchet has decided to make the Golden Ratio an integral part of its creation.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon Earth Limited Edition

As if a mathematical object in motion, the spiralling Fibonacci curves are found at the heart of the movement, evoking the double-mirroring of amise en abyme, less a stylistic effect, and more a measure of the young brand’s depth.

Several variations of hand finishing on the plate and bridges, each quite distinctive, emphasize the depth and intricacy of movement’s architecture and its dramatic arches. Every surface has its own finish, even those areas that are not readily visible, way deep inside. Polish, satin-finish, micro-blasting and circular graining play off each other in the light, while the deep black PVD coating contrasts with the reflections of the rhodium-plated wheels.

The movement provides a power reserve of 105 hours.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

The tonneau-shaped Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork watch by creative contemporary Swiss watch brand BIANCHET was conceived and designed according to the principles of the Golden Ratioof 1.618 and the Fibonacci sequence.

In 2020, the brand launched the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork with a titanium case that measures 43 mm in width, 50 mm in height (length) and 13 mm in thickness. From the side, the top and bottom of the watch follow a curve. The superposition of these two lines, the colored seam, the thickness of the bezel, the play on heights – they are guided by the Fibonacci sequence.

BIANCHET has now added a new version with a carbon case, with the accent in blue. The composite material has a special formulation: titanium powder has been added to the carbon fibers.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

Together, the two materials create a moiré effect that alternates between shiny and matte in a random pattern unique to each piece. The curvature and lightness of the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork provide a feeling of completeness and harmony. It naturally flows from the Golden Ratio.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

Skeletonized, the complex mechanical calibre of the watch is made entirely of black DLC titanium. It was designed and developed and is now manufactured by Bianchet in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking industry. The Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork has a power reserve of 105 hours.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

The design of the B1.618 caliber is unique. It features a curved and open-worked tourbillon bridge. The barrel bridge responds with perfect symmetry. The floating and skeletonized flange is simply amazing. The structures and textures have shades of black that cut across.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

The short lugs enhance wear comfort. The supple strap made from natural rubber naturally follows through. The sporty elegance of the distinctive color seam that intersects the various parts of the case – be it in carbon or titanium.

This through-line is an unmistakable signature of the brand. The seam, functional and following a specific cut, first embedded then adjusted by hand between the different components, highlights the case’s curvature. It also defines a chromatic theme, extending to the hands and hour markers as well as to crown’s rubber insert and the strap.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

A sporty-chic creation, the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork is water-resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM) in the titanium version, 30 meters for the carbon version and features a crown guard. The watch is guaranteed for five years. The movement components are made of Grade 5 titanium, including the bridges of the tourbillon cage. The material’s low weight and high rigidity further enhance the calibre’s reliability.

BIANCHET Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork Carbon

With the metal used for the components and case, the Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork in titanium weighs in at less than 55 grams. The carbon version weighs 33 grams without the bracelet.

Bianchet Tourbillon B 1.618 Openwork

Bianchet Tourbillon B 1.618 Openwork takes its inspiration from Fibonacci’s golden ratio 1.618, which has been widely used in the arts, architecture and music.

The Bianchet Tourbillon B 1.618 Openwork watch features a well-designed tonneau (barrel shaped) case made from titanium. Its intricate mechanical movement is revealed through sculptural titanium plates and bridges, providing ultimate transparency. The three-dimensional design is composed of interlacing arches and circles, based on Fibonacci’s golden proportions, which convey a deep sense of harmony.

Bianchet Tourbillon B 1.618 Openwork

The movement plates and bridges, the titanium tourbillon cage, as well as the watch case, are crafted and manufactured by Bianchet, in the heart of the Swiss Jura Mountains. Every Bianchet watch is entirely made and hand-finished in Switzerland.

Sophisticated milling and finishing processes as well as a high level of craftsmanship skills are necessary to shape the intertwined openwork plates and bridges, made from a highly inflammable titanium alloy. The complication of the movement comes from the superposition of structural and aesthetic elements conceived to create ethereal and strong openwork architecture.
