SARCAR WATCHES
SARCAR is a Geneva based Swiss luxury watch brand founded by Carlo Sarzano. SARCAR Genève produces prestigious watches in limited and often numbered editions, based on state-of-the-art technology and superlative finishing, executed by the finest “Artisans of Time”. Loupe gem-setting, hand-polishing, engraving, cutting and assembly are all meticulously performed and controlled in order to guarantee that the finished product bears the hallmark of a precious and indeed unique object.
In addition to the use of the most precious materials (gold, precious stones, natural mother-of-pearl, gold or pavé dials), it is through the inventiveness and originality of its models (particularly the Solitaire and its rotating diamond) that SARCAR has earned the loyalty of its esteemed customers.
History of SARCAR Watches
SARCAR was founded in 1948 in Geneva. Carlo Sarzano himself had worked for several prestigious Swiss brands, representing in Italy and Spain, before striking out on his own.
As he was building on his watchmaking expertise, he chanced upon a factory, Manufacture de Montres Niton, founded in 1919, which was up for sale. Carlo Sarzano bought the factory and set up his own company, developing his first collection, piece by piece. With business contacts already established, he had a head start to launch his products in the world market.
Carlo Sarzano passed away in 1974 and his wife Paulette Sarzano took over the management of the company. She was immediately faced with some difficult decisions. It was a period of mergers, consolidation and large-series production, all of which were totally contrary to the SARCAR philosophy. This same year, SARCAR launched the GLORIUM an astonishing ultra-thin watch of 2.5 mm thickness.
In 1981, SARCAR launched the MAGIC MOON, another spectacular novelty in the world of wristwatches. In 1985, the brand introduced the GALAXY, a collection paying tribute to Carlo Sarzano’s love for the magical beauty of the Stars, the Moon and the Sun.
2003 marked a turning point in the history of the company: new start, new logo, same philosophy. SARCAR added the famous signature: “Creator of Dreams” and launched the iconic Solitaire watch. The brand unveiled the Royal Solitaire in 2005 and the Carrousel watch in 2006.
In 2009, SARCAR launched another world first with the Twist, an exceptional watch with a floating 1-carat brilliant-cut diamond. At Basel-world 2012, SARCAR revealed the North Star, a spectacular piece with a rotating princess cut diamond of over 2 carats.
During Baselworld 2013, SARCAR presented, among other creations, a magnificent jewellery watch, the Treasure Elephant. This piece was a part of the Treasure Collection, introduced in 2012 with the Treasure Dragon.
In 2014, SARCAR launched another sculptural watch from the Treasure Collection, the Royal Stallion.
In 2024, the brand introduced the Night Star, a diamond-set watch inspired by the beauty of cosmic universe.
