Circula AquaSport II GMT Automatic

German watch brand Circula has added a new GMT version to its best selling AquaSport II diving watch series.

Driven by a Top Grade Swiss automatic movement, the Circula AquaSport GMT is a 200M water-resistant watch capable of displaying additional time zones.

Dedicated to globetrotters and explorers, this robust timekeeper in stainless steel fuses refreshing design and high-quality mechanism. The watch also employs Swiss Super-LumiNova luminescent pigments for ensuring the visibility of functions around the clock.

This new model has a hand-brushed, 40mm diameter stainless-steel case featuring scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, screwed down crown and GMT bezel with sapphire insert. The AquaSport GMT watch houses the Sellita SW330-1 in Top grade execution.

Available in two color choices, the dial features lumed and bold hour-markers. In addition, it has an inner dial ring for 24H/GMT display and the date window at 6 o’clock. All the four centrally placed hands (hour, minute, GMT and seconds) feature Swiss Super-LumiNova.

Thanks to the GMT hand and the ball-bearing, bi-directional rotating GMT bezel with 48 clicks, it allows the display of three different time zones. Moreover, the GMT hand and date can be set very quickly.

Regarding the aesthetics, the AquaSport GMT combines the design of the 1970s skin-divers with new colors. This model is available in two colorways: Blue and anthracite. Depending upon the version, the bezel-insert in sapphire features a single tone or bi-color.

Built in Pforzheim in Germany, this timepiece comes either on a beads-of-rice stainless-steel bracelet, or on a tropical rubber strap. All straps come with a quick release exchange system and can thus be swapped in seconds.

CITIZEN Eco-Drive 365

CITIZEN launches its Eco-Drive 365 watch collection equipped with the newly developed E365 Calibre.

Tested for a power reserve of approximately one year, the new Eco-Drive movement further enhances the advantages of CITIZEN’s proprietary technology that offers low power consumption and long running times.

CITIZEN has proposed three new models with this groundbreaking Eco-Drive movement. Among them, one is a limited edition. All three models will be released in Fall/Winter 2023 as part of CITIZEN’s Global Collection.

CITIZEN Eco-Drive Cal. E365 allows each watch to run for 365 days on a full charge. Maintaining the standard diameter of 27 mm, this calibre offers even higher power generation efficiency. The pulses used to move the hands have also been refined to allow new and exciting design possibilities.

YEMA Superman 500 GMT New Models

A major evolution of YEMA’s 1960s iconic model, Superman 500 GMT preserves its main professional diving features while providing a 3-time GMT function. For the first time water resistant to 500m, the YEMA Superman 500 GMT watch benefits from a modernized architecture and substantial technical improvements. Equipped with an in-house automatic movement, this timepiece comes with a bi-color bezel.

YEMA Superman 500 GMT New Models

In 2022, the French watchmaking brand introduced the Superman 500 GMT in three color styles: Black & Red, Blue & Grey and Black & White. Among them, the first two models feature bi-colour aluminium bezel-inserts. The third variant comes with sapphire bezel-insert combined with Super LumiNova.

This year three new versions joining the collection: Green & White and Red & White with luminous sapphire bezel-insert and Black & Brown with aluminium bezel-insert.

The YEMA Superman 500 GMT is available in stainless steel with a 39mm or 41mm case. While maintaining its thickness of 2.6 mm, the double dome sapphire crystal has also undergone a change to make it more resistant while retaining the original DNA of the Superman.

The height of the glass has been reduced by 0.3 mm while widening by 0.6 mm on its outside diameter. The double domed sapphire crystal offers better readability, enhanced resistance and a resolute vintage look.

The thickness of stainless steel case-back has been increased from 1.5mm to 2.2mm. Thanks to new technical improvements, this Superman is water resistant up to 50 BAR (500 meters) and 3 BAR (30 meters) with the crown unscrewed.

Bezel

The bezel clamp has been redesigned to ensure better stability with the crown tube. New micro drilling in strategic areas of the case right under the bezel allows for optimized rotation of the bezel click spring and a more precise alignment of the bezel insert.

With a new joint layout, it will now be possible to adjust the setting of the bezel and its bezel lock on the surface of the water. The Superman benefits from a 3 bar seal in the unscrewed crown position representing a major improvement.

The bi-directional 24-hour graduated bezel-insert in bi-color scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that offers a sophisticated appearance.

The GMT bezel with its sapphire insert combined with Super-LumiNova, required a special and innovative design to offer day/night visibility even in the dark. This specific and meticulous construction made it possible to really dissociate the bezel in 2 parts, as can be seen by the indexes at 6 hour and 18 hour.

The bezel’s luminescent marker at 12 o’clock and the luminescent arrow-shaped minute hand provide scuba divers with an accurate indication of dive times in poor visibility conditions at the greatest depths.

The luminescent 24-hour scale on the bezel and the luminescent hands facilitates reading of the three time zones in all situations. The YEMA Superman 500 GMT is also available with a bicolour aluminium bezel-insert offering a neo-vintage look.

The GMT complication makes it possible to read up to 3 different time zones thanks to the GMT hand and the rotating (24 clicks) bezel.

The unique Superman bezel-lock at 3 o’clock has proven very useful to professional divers and is found on all Superman models since 1963.

Other features

The second-generation in-house Caliber YEMA 3000 with optimised components offers a Daily Rate of +/- 10 s/d and a power reserve of 42h.

The markers and hands of the glossy black dial feature Super-LumiNova Grade A application to ensure increased readability. The iconic shovel seconds hand is exactly in the same design used in other 1970’s Superman models.

Three strap choices are available: stainless steel bracelet, leather strap and Rubber FKM VITON®.

Fratello x Nivada Grenchen Racing Chronograph

In partnership with Fratello, Nivada Grenchen has created a new chronograph watch inspired by a vintage timepiece made in the 1970s. The Fratello x Nivada Grenchen Racing Chronograph is available in five different dial variations.

Limited to 50 pieces, this timepiece retains some key features of the original 1970s Nivada chronograph. The new model however comes with a number of changes in terms of the dimensions, functions and color theme. Firstly, the historic watch has a 40mm diameter case where as the Fratello × Nivada Grenchen watch measures only 38mm. Secondly, the red dial accents of the dial have been replaced with the signature Fratello-orange.

Finally, the new watch comes with an external tachymeter bezel in steel where as the historic model features an external count-down bezel mounted on the case and tachymeter scale on the dial.

This racing chronograph is available in five dial colors: Full Black, Grey, Tropical Brown, Panda (black dial with silver counters) and the Reverse Panda with white color dial with black counters.

The Fratello x Nivada Grenchen Racing Chronograph houses the Swiss Made Sellita SW510 M b manual-winding chronograph movement. This 23 jewel calibre has a beating rate of 28’800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). It offers a power reserve of 63 hours.

Angelus x Massena LAB Medical Chronograph Limited Edition

By launching the Angelus x Massena LAB Medical Chronograph from the new La Fabrique collection, the iconic Swiss watch brand revives its legacy in manufacturing doctor’s watches.

Created in collaboration with Massena LAB, the Chronographe Médical is limited to 99 pieces. Endowed with dual pulsometer and asthmometer scales, it is a true tool watch for medical professionals. This model also marks the beginning of a new Angelus collection named La Fabrique created specifically for tribute editions.

In the 1960s, Angelus launched a wrist-worn hand-wound chronograph for doctors and medical professionals. Its unique style dial featured a dual scale for a pulsometer to measure the patient’s pulse and an asthmometer to record the respiratory rate. This doctor’s watch has been brought up to date by Angelus to appeal to modern tastes.

Movement

The Chronographe Médical x Massena LAB houses the Angelus manual winding A5000 movement with integrated mono-pusher chronograph.

It has a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. The chronograph seconds hand placed on the centre can be used for calculating heart rate or respiratory rate in reference with the respective scales. Equipped with a single mushroom-shaped pusher at 2 o’clock and operating at a rate of 3 Hz, the Angelus A5000 chronograph calibre incorporates a column wheel and a horizontal clutch.

The case is made from 316L steel. Lastly, the case diameter has been increased to 39mm to make the pulsometer scale more legible.

Pulsometer

The pulsometer function indicates a patient’s heart rate without the need for calculations. On the Angelus Chronographe Médical, the pulsometer scale between 1 and 3 o’clock is based on 10 beats. As soon as the chronograph is started, simply count 10 beats, then stop the mechanism. When compared against the pulsometer scale, the chronograph hand will then indicate the number of beats per minute.

Asthmometer

The asthmometer displays the respiratory rate per minute. The Chronographe Médical works on the basis of five breaths. After starting the chronograph, count five breaths before pressing the pusher again. The chronograph hand will indicate the number of breaths per minute on the inner scale graduated from 40 to 10.

Dual Pulsometer and Asthmometer Scale

The pulsometer scale of this watch has a very specific colour code: green, black, or red, corresponding to the severity of the reading obtained during the examination. By contrast, the respiratory scale is red and is nestled inside the minute circle. These two scales are positioned so as to make them as legible and clear as possible. Before each scale, the requirement for taking vital signs is listed (base 10 pulsations and base 5 respirations).

The font used is particularly wide and contrasting. Two large arrows accentuate these scales, one of which, curved and crossing the minute circle, is completely unique. Lastly, the silvered opaline dial and Dauphine hands with luminescent lines are identical to the model that inspired this timepiece. The dial has 12 appliqué hour markers: six indexes and six Arabic numerals.

To give more importance for the pulsometer and asthmometer scales, the minute track and the hour markers have been pushed in towards its centre.

The watch comes fitted on a full-grain golden brown calfskin Novonappa® strap.

Orient Classic and Simple Style Series New Models with Day-Date and 24-hour Indicators

Japanese watch brand Orient has launched four new models to its best-selling Classic and Simple Style series in the Classic Collection. The new models add day-date and 24-hour indicators, as well as new dial colour options, combining classical and casual styles that convey the charm of mechanical watches.

The Classic and Simple Style series is known for its traditional classical face, a domed glass with a retro feel, and delicate case design with slender lugs.

The new models feature an entirely new design adopting the popular Roman numeral indices in six positions. The dial indicates the day at 10 o’clock, a 24-hour indicator at 5 o’clock, and a date window at 3 o’clock. The five hands of the multi-hand display and dual markers on the outer rim of the dial result in a dynamic design adding a new charm to the Classic and Simple Style series.

In addition, four dial colour variations enhance the appeal of these new models. The traditional, classical look of the white and ivory dials, coupled with blue hands, can be paired with any occasion or style.

In contrast are the grey and bordeaux-coloured dials that give a casual impression. The stylish bordeaux dial, coupled with yellow gold-coloured hands and indices, creates an especially eye-catching presence on the wearer’s wrist.

Orient Diver Design Chronograph

Japanese watch brand Orient has added three new Diver Design Chronograph models to its Sports Collection. Fusing sporty and casual styles, these first chronographs in the Diver design series house solar-powered movements.

Introduced in 2004, the Diver design series is a best-selling collection of Orient. For the first time, the lineup now includes solar-powered chronograph models alongside the existing mechanical watches.

Orient Diver Design Chronograph RA-TX0201L

The new Diver design chronograph models come with a uni-directional rotating bezel with six grooves common to the series, along with a metal dial with a fine luster finish.

Solar battery charging is achieved through the three subdials; a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and a small second subdial at 9 o’clock.

Orient Diver Design Chronograph RA-TX0202B

An Arabic numeral inspired by the first Diver design model adorns the 12 o’clock position, and Luminous Light is used for the numeral, indices and hands, allowing the wearer to read the time even in the dark.

The dial with metallic texture comes in three colours, blue, black and white. All three colours come with black subdials, and each of the colourways enhances the sporty design that characterises chronograph watches. The glass is made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Rolex Calibre 3235 is a new-generation self-winding movement entirely developed and manufactured in-house. With 14 patents, this exceptional in-house movement offers fundamental gains in terms of precision, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields, convenience and reliability.

Introduced in 2016 as the replacement of Cal.3135, this movement incorporates the new Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, it is also insensitive to magnetic interference.

The blue Parachrom hairspring is equipped with a Rolex overcoil, ensuring the calibres’ regularity in any position. The oscillator is fitted on the Rolex designed and -patented high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, increasing the movements’ shock resistance.

The Maurice Lacroix Pontos Day-Date watch has been now updated with several subtle enhancements. It now comes in new packaging made of #tide Ocean Material®, helping to make the seas that little bit cleaner.

By judiciously juxtaposing different hues, textures, lines and curves, Maurice Lacroix has produced a dial that is rich in detail, beautifully appointed and eminently simple to read.

Faceted hour and minute hands, lined with white Super-LumiNova, collaborate with applied indexes to impart meaning clearly and with style. The minute track does not embrace the edge of the dial, but sits inside the hour track, providing an attractive break with tradition. Slightly recessed, the track employs neat markings and uses tonal contrast to provide an effective means of delineation.

The dial has two apertures, one positioned below 12 o’clock, showing the prevailing day, and a second at 6 o’clock, indicating the date. Once more, by playing with depths, the brand has enriched the appearance of the dial.

The new PONTOS Day Date is available in a choice of three dial colours, including black, silver and anthracite. The sunray finish of the dial perfectly complements silver or golden-toned hands and indexes.

The 41mm diameter case in 316L stainless steel unites brushed and polished surfaces to bestow a sophisticated look. The automatic ML143 calibre is observable through the exhibition caseback. The movement boasts Côtes de Genève and colimaçon decorations, while the rotor has vertical Côtes de Genève and sun brushing.

The watch comes with a choice of a 3-rows stainless steel bracelet or black leather strap sporting the M-logo. Consistent with its popular AIKON collection, the new Maurice Lacroix PONTOS Day Date features the brand’s Easy Strap Exchange System.

#tide Ocean Material Box

Building on the successful launch of the AIKON #tide collection, a range of models made from upcycled ocean-bound waste, the brand is now supplying all its watches in packaging made of #tide Ocean Material®.

Each box includes a space to store an additional strap in a dedicated compartment and features a QR code which, when scanned, links to a digital user manual, obviating the need for paper instructions, once again mitigating any ecological impact.
