CIMIER WATCHES
CIMIER is an independent Swiss watch brand based in Biel, Switzerland. Its origins can be traced back to the 1920s.
In 1924, Joseph Lapanouse founded LAPANOUSE SA in Hölstein. Initially, the company used to produce affordable mechanical timepieces equipped with the pin-lever escapement invented by German master watchmaker Georges-Frédéric Roskopf.
CIMIER was one of the brands from this company, which was once one of the largest manufacturers of mechanical watches in Switzerland. In the 1950s, the company was renamed LAPANOUSE-CIMIER SA.

During the 1960s, the company used to produce 1.5 million timepieces annually. However, the Quartz Crisis of the 1970s adversely affected the brand’s further growth. In 1985, the company temporarily ceased its production due to the financial constraints. In 2003, the brand CIMIER was resurrected.
In 2006, QI group acquired CIMIER. In 2024, the brand celebrated the 100th anniversary of LAPANOUSE SA.
Presently, the brand’s flagship collections are Big Matic, Petite Seconde, Retrograde, Royal Skeleton and Time Square.
The CIMIER watch price range is CHF 800 to CHF 4,000.
