AWAKE WATCHES
Founded in 2019 by Lilian Thibault, AWAKE is an independent and innovative French watch brand with a mission to highlight the natural magnificence of the world through the object that symbolises time.
Renowned for its fast-selling limited editions, AWAKE has made a name for itself with collections such as ‘Mission To Earth’, in collaboration with NASA, or ‘Time Travelers’ and more recently ‘Dare&Dream’, co-designed with French artist Nicolas Barrome Forgues and widely reported by the media and watchmaking personalities, amused and seduced by this irreverent watch.
A few months after the brand’s creation, the French government asked AWAKE to design the official watch for the G7 summit in Biarritz, to be presented to the heads of state and world leaders attending this historic event.
At the end of 2021, AWAKE obtained validation for the Mission To Earth project, submitted to NASA several months earlier. This is neither the first nor the last time that the American space agency has let a watch brand affix its famous logo to one of its models, but this time the approach goes much further. In addition to using recycled titanium from the aerospace industry, AWAKE is once again demonstrating its vision and ability to do things differently, always in a very philosophical way, and without anything being “free”.
For the first time in the history of watchmaking, a passive NFC chip integrated directly into the sapphire crystal of the watch gives owners access to unprecedented experiences, in this case access to the cameras of the International Space Station (ISS) to observe the beauty of the Earth seen from space, like an astronaut.
In 2023, AWAKE was the only independent brand to receive the Watch of the Year award, for its Time Travelers model (€1000-€2000 category).
In 2024, to celebrate its 5th anniversary, AWAKE unveiled its very first permanent and Swiss Made collection. Son Mai consists of four models with dials handcrafted using the age-old technique of ‘Son Mai’, the Vietnamese art of sanded natural lacquer, and enhanced by the subtle application of pure silver leaf. This new step in the AWAKE watchmaking journey is a world first, combining two Métiers d’Art, a luminescent innovation and a Swiss movement. French creativity, Swiss watchmaking excellence and Vietnamese ancestral art combine to offer the quintessence of traditional art and contemporary watchmaking, with an unrivalled value proposition.
In 2025, AWAKE launched the Jurassic Watch as a tribute to Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park movie.
