Junghans Spektrum MEGA Solar

German watch brand Junghans has launched the Spektrum MEGA Solar, a new radio-controlled timepiece with connected function and solar-powered movement.

Junghans Spektrum MEGA Solar

The Spektrum MEGA Solar scores with high-precision radio technology and modern energy management, drawing its energy from the power of the sun: a glass solar cell supplies the watch‘s precise and highly efficient multi-frequency radio-controlled movement.

Its striking case is made of cool stainless steel and measures 41.6 millimeters. The matte black ceramic bezel is not only a modern design element, but also provides practical protection for the top of the case thanks to its scratch resistance – complemented by an equally robust sapphire crystal. These elements protect the solar cell, which powers the easy-to-read time display even in the dark thanks to distinctive hour markers inlaid with environmentally friendly luminous material.

In addition to the time, a large LCD display shows the date. Beneath the dial lies the watch‘s power source: a solar collector that generates electrical energy from sunlight and charges the watch‘s battery. The exact power reserve of the active multi-frequency radio-controlled solar movement is 21 months.

The Spektrum MEGA Solar can actually stay on the wrist at all times. Thanks to its water resistance of 10 bar (100 meters water depth), it is also suitable for swimming and other outdoor activities.

The stylish, low-maintenance synthetic rubber strap contributes to its suitability for everyday use, but also to its high wearing comfort.
