Junghans 1972 Competition

The new Junghans 1972 Competition automatic chronograph with its glistening silvery white dial shines with the power of sparkling, fresh snow.

Junghans 1972 Competition

At the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships taking place in February and March 2025, Junghans is the official timing partner for the fourth time.

The Black Forest based watch brand was already active at winter sports championships in the 1970s and 1980s. The apex of Junghans’ sports timing activities was the year 1972, a year that now lends itself to the name of the sporty model family and the year in which the 1972 Competition’s historical role model was introduced.

Like its historical role model, the 1972 Competition’s crown and chronograph buttons are located on top of the satin-finished stainless steel case at 12 o’clock. In combination with the powerful, slightly oval case shape, this positioning makes it a dynamic face in the crowd. The vertically arranged subdials as well as the tachymeter scale around the perimeter of the dial make for wonderful contrast points to the silvery white matte dial – as does the leather strap with its fine design holes.

A polished, ergonomically shaped case back in combination with the strap and folding clasp ensure great comfort. And great legibility is assured with a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides as well as powerful hands inlaid with luminous substance. The stainless-steel case can withstand water pressure to 10 bar or 100 meters.

Equipped with Automatic Caliber J880.5 offering 48 hours of power reserve, this watch displays the date and chronograph.
