Geneva based independent luxury watch brand Speake Marin expands its One & Two collection by introducing the new Academic Rouge model.
The One & Two collection is built upon strong watch architecture that anchors the Speake Marin contemporary style. Its case – the iconic Piccadilly case, is the base of this collection.
At Watches & Wonders 2023, Speake Marin launched two new watches representing the opposing forces of white and black, embodied by the ONE & TWO ACADEMIC White and ACADEMIC Black Tie timepieces.
There are hundreds of shades of red. 188C is the Pantone shade that Speake Marin has chosen to adorn the dial of the new ACADEMIC Rouge watch. Pantone describes the colour as a medium dark shade of pink-red.
Offsetting the lacquer dial, Billight red matt Super-LumiNova coats the Roman numeral hour markers at 12, 2, 6 and 9 o’clock.
Facing the curved SPEAKE MARIN signature between 7 and 8 o’clock, small seconds at 1:30 are indicated in white, while the central heart and spade shaped rhodium-plated hour and minute hands contrast sharply with the deep red dial colour.
Adding to the allure, audacity and elegance of the ACADEMIC ROUGE dial is the new generation round tubular Piccadilly case, just 10.5 mm thick. The case and large fluted crown are both in Grade 5 titanium, just like the folding buckle on the grey leather strap. Front and back sapphire crystals are treated with anti-reflective coating.
Powered by the in-house Calibre SMA03 automatic movement with fully integrated micro-rotor, ACADEMIC ROUGE offers a power reserve of 52 hours. Hand decorated and angled with haute Horlogerie finishing, the movement can be admired through the transparent crystal back.
Available in unlimited edition, 38 mm and 42 mm diameter sizes, ADADEMIC ROUGE is available from September 13, 2023.
