Celebrating the 40th anniversary of G-SHOCK brand of shock-resistant watches, Casio has released the new limited edition MRG-B2000SG with a motif of a specially produced helmet.
To be available from 10th November 2023, the G-SHOCK MRG-B2000SG watch is limited to 700 pieces worldwide.
Fusing the traditional Japanese artisanal techniques with modern watchmaking technology, MRG-B2000SG spotlights a design that incorporates the Shougeki-Maru: Gai, the Kabuto helmet Casio commissioned for the MR-G line.
The case is made of titanium material that has been treated with dark silver-colored IP, and by increasing its hardness through deep hardening treatment and at the same time highlighting the crystal pattern, it has a rugged surface while expressing the color of the helmet.
The bezel of MRG-B2000SG captures the maedate crest of this very special helmet with a tiger design and rock-grain relief intricately engraved by metalsmith KOBAYASHI Masao. Limited to 700 pieces, each timepiece is a one-of-a-kind, hand-engraved by a master craftsman.
On the case side, there is a metal plate commemorating the 40th anniversary of G-SHOCK. The bezel has four screws with lab-grown rubies marking the 40th anniversary.
Equipped with solar-powered movement, Bluetooth® technology and radio control time-setting, this exclusive G-Shock watch offers enhanced accuracy and reliability.
The Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B2000SG is provided with a flexible white fluorine rubber strap, inspired by the white string (ito odoshi) that binds the plates of the shikoro armor together.
Each timepiece comes inside a black-painted kiri (Paulownia) wood case with a metal plate evoking the look of the odoshi plates of the Shougeki-Maru: Gai.
