The new Darwil Mars collection represents the revival of a historic watch.
First released in the early 70’s, the Darwil Mars collection is named after the first manmade rover to successfully land on the surface of the red planet on December 2nd, 1971. Due to the limited numbers manufactured back in the days, it became a rare collector’s piece, over the decades since.
In 2022, Darwil revived the Mars collection, drawing from its original design, and updating this Swiss-made watch’s interiors with modern components.
These stainless steel watches features a 41mm coin edge décor case. The restrained design of the dial is accentuated through bold hour-markers, as well as diminutive 5-minute lettering neatly positioned next to them. It also features two vintage-themed sub-dials for small seconds and date.
While the three leather wristband versions of the collection utilize a more subdue color choice for its sub-dials, effortlessly blending into the design of the main dial, the two bracelet versions see a sportier take, with a bold, contrasting oval shape placed beneath.
Placed towards the upper end of the main dial is the Darwil brand logo, complemented by the iconic Darwil crown, in contrasting color. Protecting the dial is a boxed sapphire crystal glass.
Each Darwil Mars watch houses a Swiss automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
Today, the Darwil Mars watch is available in 5 distinct colorways, with a total of five wristbands – three premium dual-color calf leather straps and two refined metal bracelet options.
The retail price of this automatic Darwil watch is CHF 1,590 with a leather strap and CHF 1,690 with a stainless steel bracelet.
