The Interstellar by Col&MacArthur presents Lunar1,622, a new collection of NASA-approved mechanical timepieces incorporating rare meteorite moon dust. The number 1,622 represents the specific gravity of the Moon.
Earlier, the Belgium based brand successfully launched the Interstellar RED3,721 watch that holds meteorite Martian dust.
The newly announced Lunar1,622 automatic watch is available in standard, advanced and premium versions, with prices ranging from $399 to $999.
Both the Standard and Advanced models are powered by the Japanese Miyota 8215 movement, where as the premium version houses the Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 Calibre.
The Standard and Advanced models are available with sand-blasted stainless steel cases in silver or black surface finishing.
The Standard version includes the original footprint shape of Neil Armstrong at 3 o’clock as well as the approved NASA logo on the back cover.
The Advanced model features authenticated and certified meteorite moon dust inside the 3 o’clock chamber. The back cover of the watch holds the approved NASA logo.
The Interstellar Lunar1,622 Premium model holds meteorite lunar dust inside the 3 o’clock chamber as well as the approved NASA logo on the back cover. The seconds hand is gold coated and the watch case is made from titanium, known for its lightweight and robustness.
The Premium Model is limited to 2025 pieces, coinciding with the date of NASA’s Artemis 3, the long awaited manned mission to the Moon. This timepiece comes with an exclusive NASA Collector Box.
Topped with a sapphire crystal glass, the case of Lunar1,622 watch measures 43mm in diameter. Water-resistant to 100m or 10 ATM, the watch has a thickness of 12.6mm and lug-width of 20mm.
Moreover, all watches feature a 3D-printed dial inspired by the lunar surface. It also incorporates various elements and texts as tribute to NASA’s historic moon missions.
The watch comes with a leather strap. With this model, the brand is also offering add-on options of metal bracelet (stainless steel or titanium) and rubber strap.
Every timepiece will be numbered with a certificate to prove the origin. The serial number will be engraved on the back cover of the LUNAR1,622.
In addition, the brand is offering the NFC technology in the Premium model to certify the authenticity of each piece.
By supporting the brand’s online crowd-funding campaign (from 05 October to 05 November, 2023), the customers can avail the opportunity to purchase the Interstellar Lunar1,622 watch in a discounted price.
