Swiss watch brand MIDO presents a yellow gold PVD version of its Multifort Powerwind model, which combines the best of Fifties design with cutting-edge technology.
This model has a champagne-coloured domed dial. Sunray satin-finished, the radiant dial surface offers a stark contrast with the black of the logo and minute track. The vintage MIDO logo harks back to the original illustrations of the model from 1954, the year the Powerwind movement was launched.
The numerals, marking the quarter-hours, are in a retro typeface and coated with Super-LumiNova®, yellow by day and glowing green at night. This luminescent coating is also used to highlight the dots marking the 5-minute intervals, and the rectangle at 6 o’clock which houses the date aperture.
For absolutely perfect readability in the dark, yellow Super-LumiNova® is also used to add additional touches to the faceted hour and minute hands. Their vintage shape, complemented by that of the seconds hand, glides elegantly over the dial, punctuated by yellow gold-coloured indexes.
With a yellow gold-coloured PVD treatment, the surfaces of the robust stainless steel case alternate polished and satin-brushed finishes, while its screw-down case back ensures a water resistance of up to 5 bar (50 m/165 ft). The lugs of the case, with a shape inspired by vintage pieces from MIDO’s heritage, extend to a satin-finished bracelet with polished central links and sides.
Visible through the transparent case back, the self-winding Calibre 80 (base ETA C07.621) offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours.
It features finely decorated gears and an oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève and engraved with the MIDO logo. Moreover, this Swiss automatic mechanical movement incorporates a Nivachron™ balance-spring, which reduces the impact of magnetic fields while offering excellent shock-resistance.
This new MIDO Multifort Powerwind model comes with a stainless steel bracelet with satin-finished yellow gold-coloured PVD treatment and butterfly clasp.
