Swiss watch brand Belchengruppe expands its flagship collection 1247 by introducing the new VISUREN #22 and 120° MITTERNACHT models.
In 2020, Belchengruppe presented 1247, its first watch collection. The newly launched “VISUREN #22” and “120° MITTERNACHT” watches are limited to 50 pieces each and embody the design credo of the brand.
The case of 1247 watch is based on classic watch design and is shaped using complex faceting with clear lines to create a unique character. The shapes seems to be cut from a block, curves are reduced to a minimum: the watches appear almost brutal at first glance.
Both watch dials offer a new interpretation of classic display elements and call into question traditional perceptions.
Belchengruppe 1247 VISUREN #22
Time passes with changing intensity, at different speeds. Christoph Ruppli has taken up this experience with his design for the second dial in the “VISUREN” series.
The design reinterprets the iconic sunburst and transforms it into an expressive interpretation of time.
The recurring condensation of the sun’s rays on the small seconds seems to accelerate the passage of time, while the even distribution of the hour indices shows the normalized progression.
Belchengruppe 1247 120° MITTERNACHT (Midnight)
With a black, DLC-coated case and orange, vegetable-tanned leather strap, this model demonstrates the strong influence that color has on the perception of a watch. The deep black, brushed surface accentuates the distinctive surfaces of the case, underscoring its architectural character.
The combination of the case color “MITTERNACHT” with the bright orange of the strap emphasizes the striking design and the watch becomes a symbol of the change between day and night.
The “120°” dial divides the hour into three sections. Thus, it marks the time span of 20 minutes and not the quarter of an hour, which is always felt to have flown by too quickly. At the same time, it represents the three daily stages: morning, afternoon, and night.
