Swiss watch brand Mido presents Ocean Star 36.5, a sixties-inspired diver’s timepiece dedicated to women.
The new Ocean Star 36.5 combines diver’s watch codes with a refined look. The unidirectional rotating bezel, fitted with a domed black mineral crystal ring with rose gold-coloured markings, can be used to measure elapsed time during a dive.
The Ocean Star 36.5 in gold toned case (reference M026.207.37.056.00) stands out with its magnificent contrasts.
The finely sunray-finished and black dial reflects the light at great depths while 11 diamonds surrounded by metal mark the hours. The flat diamond-cut rose gold-coloured hour, minute and seconds hands skim across this deep backdrop.
They are subtly finished with powerful white Super-LumiNova® to ensure they remain readable even in the dark. At 6 o’clock also appears the date.
The 36.5 mm diameter case is made from extremely durable polished, rose gold-coloured stainless steel. It is protected by a glassbox-style sapphire crystal that recalls the charming plexiglas used in the sixties. Secured with screw-down crown and case back, this timepiece has a water resistance up to a pressure of 20 bar/200 meters.
The Ocean Star 36.5 houses the Calibre 80, an exceptional Swiss automatic movement with Nivachron™ balance spring and a power reserve of up to 80 hours. It also features a textured rubber strap with a delicate wave pattern.
The MIDO Ocean Star 36.5 is also available in two steel versions without diamonds: one features the same deep black dial and rotating bezel, and the second variant comes with a blue dial and matching bezel-insert.
