Keeping the general aesthetic of the original “Jumbo” from 1972, the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin 39mm white gold diamond-set model is adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds on the case, bezel and bracelet. Equipped with the self-winding AP Calibre 7121, it comes with a Petite Tapisserie dial in a new shade of blue.
An impressive 1,102 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling 6.7 carats, are set on the 18-carat white gold case, bezel and bracelet of this Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin. The Manufacture’s artisans have used a grain setting for the case and bracelet, while they have favoured a channel setting on the bezel to house a larger size of diamonds.
Each gemstone has been carefully selected and cut to respond to the Manufacture’s highest criteria in terms of clarity, cut and colour. The presence of highly polished chamfers further increases the play on light on the diamonds.
A new lighter tone of blue, achieved using a PVD process, illuminates the dial. This new shade will complement the collection’s signature Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 hue.
White gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands enhanced with luminescent coating complete the dial, adding the final touches to this original guilloche Petite Tapisserie pattern in its bright blue colour.
This latest generation Royal Oak “Jumbo” Extra-Thin model houses the Calibre 7121, a self-winding movement specifically conceived to fit in the extra-thin “Jumbo” case without altering the aesthetic or thickness.
The 22-carat pink gold central oscillating weight as well as the refined Haute Horlogerie decorations such as Côtes de Genève, traits tirés and circular graining can be admired through the watch’s sapphire caseback.
