The new Patria GMT by Tutima Glashütte is an elegant and sophisticated timepiece with a finely silver-plated dial, which offers quick reading of the time at the wearer’s home and at his destination. Intricately handcrafted in-house and meticulously polished 18-karat gold hands with ground and matted bevels indicate the hours and minutes with unostentatious grace.
The hour in a second time zone is shown on a subdial at the “6”, where the blued GMT hand contrasts with the continually running second-hand. The former can be set to indicate any desired local time, even if it differs from the time in a neighbouring zone by a quarter-hour or a half-hour.
The Patria GMT watch houses the hand-wound Calibre 619, which is built on the premises of the Tutima manufactory and in accordance with the world-renowned Glashütte fine watchmaking traditions.
One of this movement’s many special features is its in-house escapement. The index-free oscillating system includes an individually calculated Breguet hairspring, which terminates in a curve that has been manually bent and drawn upward. The spring is held by a pinned, firmly attached stud. Rarely found in this form nowadays, the combination is a delight for connoisseurs who appreciate the utmost in horological artistry.
The movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back. All surfaces of the calibre are embellished with straight graining or manual polishing and are also given elaborate peripheral grinding.
Tutima Glashütte’s new Patria GMT is available with a hand-stitched alligator leather strap.
