Made in China, Seagull 1963 Chronograph is one of the most sought-after mechanical timepieces ever made.
Originally created for Chinese Air Force in the 1960s, this iconic wristwatch has been reissued by Red Star in different case sizes: 38mm, 40mm and 42mm. These collectible chronographs are available in an affordable price range of 250 to 400 Euros.
The newly released Seagull 1963 Chronograph Black Edition comes with the emblematic cream dial with blued hour and minute hands, red central chronograph seconds hand, and sub-dials arranged in classic bi-compax lay-out.
The counter at 3 o’clock displays 30 minute chronograph function, and the sub-dial at 9 o’clock indicates the running seconds. The watch has a retro styled sapphire crystal glass on the front, and an exhibition case back with sapphire crystal.
The Seagull 1963 Chronograph Black Edition houses the upgraded Seagull ST19 movement with Blue Swan Neck Regulator. The hand-winding Seagull ST1901 mechanical chronograph movement beats at the rate of 21,600 bph.
Visible through the exhibitor case-back, it offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours on a full wind without the chronograph running.
This timepiece comes with a black paratrooper style NATO strap with red stripe inspired by the colour of chronograph hand.
The retail price of the Red Star Seagull 1963 Chronograph Black Edition is €359.00 with the textile strap. It can be paired with leather strap or steel mesh bracelet.
