Japanese watchmaker Orient has launched a new Mako Diver Design Solar Chronograph in a green colourway exclusive to the UK Market.
Introduced in 2004, Mako is a best-selling watch model from Orient. For the first time, this line-up now includes solar-powered chronograph model alongside the existing mechanical watches.
Its solar quartz movement converts energy obtained from sunlight and other sources into electrical energy, so there is no need to replace batteries. This makes it convenient for daily use and outdoor activities when the chronograph function is used.
This new chronograph Orient Mako Diver design model has a 42.8 mm diameter steel case and a unidirectional rotating bezel with six grooves common to the series.
The Orient Mako Solar Chronograph made exclusive to the UK market comes with a green textured dial and black sub-dials.
Solar battery charging is achieved through the three subdials: a 24-hour indicator at 3 o’clock, a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, and a small second subdial at 9 o’clock. An Arabic numeral inspired by the first Orient Mako Diver design model adorns the 12 o’clock. Numerals, indices and hands are treated with luminous material to ensure visibility in the dark.
Fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, screw down crown and screw-in case back, this watch offers a water resistance of 20 bar/ 200m.
Launched this year, the Orient Mako Solar Chronograph is also available in other colour versions like blue, black and white. The version with green dial and black counters (reference RN-TX0204E) is especially dedicated to the UK market.
